he idly brushes his fingertips over the curve of your horns, breathing a soft compliment, mentioning how remarkable he finds them. you're out of place, you'll protest, you don't belong, you've been told so countless times. gale exhales a steady breath, and as he's trailing his fingers from your cheek to your jaw to your pointed ears, he's reassuring you with soft words, in a quiet tone. you have always belonged here. you are perfect, just as I see you now. just as you are.

he'll wind up lost in your eyes, admiring their faint glow. even at times where he perhaps shouldn't. you distract him so easily, catching him staring with an amused look and a smile that flashes pointed teeth. hand entwined with yours, he delights in the sight: your pretty pointed nails, the difference between your skin and his. your hands look like they were meant to be held by one another. he'll keep his gaze on yours, despite your growing shyness, coaxing you to look at him again with a gentle direction. and when your tail curls around him, he lets it brush his hand, he runs his palm over the surface until you're whimpering. carefully, he gives it the faintest tug. your breath comes out heavy, and he delights in the way you softly mutter his name.

hateee talking about work with my dad bc he truly could never understand my point of view and I don't even want to try tbh

#like he comes from a VERY different era where people like us didn't have many opportunities but they also weren't AWARE of those other #opportunities #so he grew up knowing he was gonna do the job he did and accepted it with a certain peace #and he found a way to actually enjoy it #but i can never make him relato to my experience of knowing like him that my opportunities were limited while #at the same time being aware of just how many beautiful things are out there #like to this day hes convinced there's 1 right job for everyone and if you find it you will be fine forever #how do i explain to him that i would have loved >100 #jobs and i will grieve for all of them forever #and no the job i chose will not keep me happy forever and yes i was aware of it when i chose it #gah its so hard

on the one hand, eso is allergic to pretty young men npcs and its engine affords absolutely ZERO aesthetic favours towards mans... which is why bastian looks wayyyyy older than 27 and craggy as hell visually.

on the other hand, his character is great and griffin puatu's performance is so goddamn wonderful and endearing that it overlays and makes up for any lacking visuals on the game's part...

all this to say, i treat drawing bastian a little like how all those oblivion fan artists approached interpreting lucien lachance back in the day.

not quite to that extent, but like, same energy.
