I like the idea that foolish was aware that Wilbur was still there, so he left things easier for him to get to. Hence why he’s able to take care of Q, when Foolish fails to get through to him.

Dream eventually catches on, wanting to use Wilbur as a bargaining chip to make Quackity give himself up to him and Punz. Unfortunately for them, Tommy and Foolish are on the prowl the second they hear what happened and Tommy gets a group together on the premise of “beating Dream once and for all” because he knows Dream’s tactics, he knows Dream will not bring Wilbur to the meeting spot.

Tommy is aware that Quackity stores Wilbur, he’s familiar with seeing Wilbur eat somewhat whole objects and every time Tommy made fun of him he huffed and reiterated how bad instincts are. So instead of poking fun at Wilbur, he pokes fun at Quackity now.
