I've been digging further into the compression recommendations given for orthostatic hypotension, and so far I have 3 NIH studies suggesting that while compression socks (15-20mmHG) may slightly reduce the frequency of hypotension while supine (valueable to me!) it has basically no effect on upright orthostatic pre-syncope, and for that you're better off with the abdominal binder. I think this still makes it worth doing, but also dramatically lowers my urgency in figuring out the design. Until then it sounds like close-fit knitted thigh-highs and my corset should be enough.

I'll need long term compression glove options too, but that actually isn't about the OH (tho it does complicate what kind of compression I can tolerate for my joints.

It does look like the stenosis would benefit from additional structuring around the low back, and possibly some manner of standing weight distribution relief, so I'll be curious to see how that turns out.

Anyway, I think I might have a starting idea for how I want to build an abdominal binder, but I'm not sure how the pattern for the under bust portion will mesh with the posture correction portion.

Anyway because I feel like being social but don't want to invite the wrong kind of fuckery for the mood, I've decided to get back to documenting corset progress! For now, wifey helped me cut out my panels and I've been working on piecing them together. My hope is that my body has stopped changing quite as dramatically and the measurements I took are still correct.

I'm going to have to add eyelets and laces to it so it can function, but I haven't decided yet whether or not I'm going to bone the mock up. I **should** but I also hate doing it lmao

Once my pieces are secured and given lacing, I should be able to pin and dart the pieces into shape with wifey's help. Ideally, once that's done, I have a mock up ready to be deconstructed into a pattern for long term use.

I might take another look at the cotton gauze I have in my fabric bin because I wanted (and still want) to use it for a new pair of pants for Yom Kippur this year, but I also think I might have enough of it to face my corset with it when the time comes? That way I have one that's finished and ready to go while I start working on the embroidery for panels on my proper one. And who knows, maybe it turns out to be a very nice top for my YK pants lol

I might also start working on the pants this week since they need waaaaay less work on the patterning. Just making wide legs and a pleated waist lmao. I think I might also cut a strip off my blue silk for a belt panel. I should be able to do that and still have enough left for the blouse I want to make out of it (later tho, that one DOES have some serious draping needs)

ANYWAY, I'm feeling optimistic, and want to aim for getting my mock up pieced and laced for pinning by the end of the day. I think that's doable without asking too much of myself.
