Hey, Zep! Here’s a hard question: which fic did you enjoy the most when writing?

Hey there, lovely!

Ooh, that's super freakin' tough. I've written quite a lot, and I have many "favorites" for different reasons. Like I answered another anon earlier today, I absolutely loved writing Smoke Eater, for example, but it did get difficult for me at times due to the complexity of the story and sometimes the gravity of the subject matter.

That said, I'll give you a short list of my favorites (series):

3. Take Me Home (Beau Arlen x Reader)

Ah, the Big Sky fandom! This is the most recent series I've written, and I've had so much fun with it as I continued to learn Beau's character and navigate season 3 of the show, trying to fill in the blanks that the show left behind while adding my own spin to certain things.

Beau is my favorite cowboy sheriff, but he's not without his flaws, which made for a rich exploration of his character. ❤️

2. Midnight Espresso (Dean Winchester x Plus-Sized/Latina Reader)

This is a collection of stories in the SPN fandom, and it's very personal to me! (I myself am both plus-sized and Latina.) Though I tried to make it so all readers, regardless of race/ethnicity or otherwise, could enjoy those stories as well.

It gave me the chance to pair Dean with a reader character who is also a giver like him, who looks out for and cares for him in the same way he cares for others, all while being a badass hunter herself.

From dramatic and angsty hurt/comfort to fluffy smut, I've tried to explore many facets of their relationship, while utilizing both my heritage/culture and my personal experience with body insecurity, body shaming, etc. 💜

1. Break Me Down (Soldier Boy x Reader)

People probably know me best for this series. It was my first real foray into the complex, lovable asshole known as Soldier Boy (Ben).

And it was my attempt at creating a redemption arc for him through an "enemies to lovers" story, edgier than anything I'd done previously, thanks to the grittiness of The Boys world.

I've continued writing far past the original series because I just can't quit these two, and this version of Ben. (In fact, a new one-shot is coming for the BMD-verse on Friday called Calculated Risks, followed by a mini series in May! 💚)

And there are even more BMD requests in my inbox for when I'm able to get to requests again. So as long as people keep wanting to read about them, I'll keep writing about them! 😂

Reddit struggles to get their posts to anything above like 200 upvotes. That is a very small faction of the fandom. I’d hardly use that to win your argument. That’s why i keep bringing up twitter and tiktok, hell even tumblr. Where destiel trends on the daily.

That’s just the extent of it. You can’t argue facts. No one cares about anything other than Destiel on a large scale regarding the show now that it’s over. Destiel is the only thing that holds any relevance.

Anyways. I just send you anons because i like to, seeing that you’re a blog who runs an anti-account that can’t even get a note on a post. Whereas i can get thousands of likes and comments on a destiel post wherever i go. It’s fun on my side, lots of interaction and people to talk to. Celebrities who ship it. Rob and Rich talking about it on their podcast. Oof. I’m living the high life.

Also, Jared just said this last con that there’s no confirmed role on the boys yet, just that he wants to be in it. And he’ll never be as big as Soldier Boy, which is gonna be really embarrassing for him, because everyone is gonna see how bad an actor he is compared to Jensen. Huffing and puffing his way to that cbs role while Jensen continues to become an a-lister lol.

But I'm sorry... Jensen an A-lister actor? Jack Nicholson, Marlon Brando, Clint Eastwood, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro... these are true A-lister actors... Jared and Jensen are at best C-lister. And also Jared was Dean in Girlmore Girls that's why he is popular outside the world of SPN.

I have 10 friends of my age who watch or have watched SPN, you know how many of them have tumblr or ships Destiel? Zero, they don't even know the ship, I think you forget that we are 8 billion in this world.

Well Jared is constantly huffing and puffing while Jensen is always talking with his Batman Voice and doing the model face. Sometimes he really looks like Derek Zoolander.

Are you really a fan of Jensen? I don't understand why you still insist with Destiel. You can like the non-canon ship but why are you trying to force it. You are saying the OG Wonder Woman ships it, Rich and Rob (I don't know why you care about the extras), while Jensen said that is never going to be true. It's like a person likes you but you hate them, and all you friend are insisting that you hang out with them even if you don't like it.

Rob and Rich do this because they are unemployed and need some fans for the podcast because is not doing well. It's all marketing, and you are not capable of see it.

Try to get out of the destiel bubble and apply what is happening, simplifying, to yourself.

15, 21, 23?

15. something you learned this year

i don't know if i can say i learned a new skill as such. but one thing is like... i really enjoyed making three card stud. and it really opened my eyes to like, how much of what i like about the practice of fanfiction is the meticulous remixing/reinterpretation of canon. there's a way in which the AMV is a more... analytical art form than the fanfic, because you are literally forced by the constraints of the medium to keep to the text. all you have are song lyrics and the kuleshov effect to convince your audience to take the new meaning you intend to convey from stuff already in the show. and i brought that ethos to three card stud even though i did add stuff. in a lot of ways three card stud was just me listing off things from canon i think a lot about and saying eh? eh? like. hoping the context would make it clear *why* this stuff makes me crazy. and i think that was a lot of the motivation behind the fic i'm currently working on, which is about dean and cas getting caught by the police. that fic at this point is mostly lists of things that have happened in spn episodes, placed in a new context by baffled feds and cops. which is the fun part. so like basically i learned that this is really fun, listing off canon facts in a new context

21. most memorable comment/review

so the most memorable traditional comment as such i got was probably this one, on i fold in half so easily (ifihse tends to generate the best comments because it's extremely dark without the ways in which it is dark being obviously flagged. so people are more shocked and more forced to think). "Cas: no officer i am very happy please dont tell dean im emotionally complex" is so funny and true that's literally what happens in that fic.

another top contender is this one, on getting serious, which generates good comments for the same reason ifihse does, though it's a lot less intense.

but in terms of my favorite *response to my work,* it was the breastfeeding anon saga (in chronological order here) which was a response to my fic smorgasbord.

and then i wrote a fic based on those anons, and then i got these very funny tags on my fic post:

23. fics you wanted to write but didn’t

when i tell you about the 120k deanvictor fic which is literally 90k of victor henriksen hunting down a serial killer dean winchester while becoming a little (sexually) obsessed with him and then 30k of victor knowing about the supernatural and moonlighting as a hunter while he and dean suck each others dicks so much.

and also it's about victor's relationship with his two ex wives and his former stepdaughter who he is still emotionally a parent to even though they have no legal relationship and the coworker he had an emotional affair with who he doesn't speak to anymore and how he feels trapped in his life and his job and dean represents this escape for him this total freedom. just living in his car on the road and not having to worry about what your boss thinks or needing to quit smoking. while for dean victor represents this stability and adulthood dean can never achieve. and dean leaves three spare pairs of underwear in victor's divorcé bachelor pad as a kind of little... fantasy. of what life could be like.

anyway the most compelling scene from that, IN MY MIND, is a scene where victor STILL thinks dean is a serial killer. and now he has him in custody. and against his will he's... charmed. by dean. because dean is charming and pathetic, shaking and sweating from mild alcohol withdrawal but still cracking jokes and being friendly and observant and extremely young-feeling, for 28. and earnest in a way he didn't expect. and they're forced to work together against a demon siege, a spin on jus in bello where victor still doesn't find out about the supernatural he's just protecting himself and a prisoner from a threat. and he has the uncomfortable realization that he's attracted to dean winchester (serial killer) (guy he is trying to take down) (has killed so so many people). and he's like well. we can table that for later. and then dean escapes.

so i've been trying to figure out a way to scoop out just that scene and turn it into its own fic because that's actually manageable for me.

the dean and cas pursued by the cops idea also comes a bit from frustration that i can't write this, though the feds in that one are ocs bc it's later.

I have a problem with saying things without sounding rude, but I promise I'm not being mean: I feel like JD got together with Gen because of his mental health problems, with this I mean that I think he subconsciously thinks he doesn't deserve real love and just stuck with her. I have some best friends who were in these sort of situations (I was in it too) and the more I learn about the couple, the more I feel strongly about this. Also Gen gives me snake vibes...

Hello Anon, thank you for coming by and sending me this ask. I am guessing you may have seen at least some of my more recent posts pertaining to Gen and Jared. I have spoken with a few people in PMs about my views in more depth and have similar sentiments you do. If you have not looked at some of my posts I'll happily link them in this post for your and others' review. I speculated about a month ago actually on Leap Day on my J2 relationship timelines post that Jared and Gen may have had some conflicts with say number of kids they would like and even when they want to start having kids. I believe Gen was more ready and eager to get married and have kids but Jared was more or less... wanting to wait. Of course, a friend just yesterday sent me a video clip where Jared pretty much said "have fun" with conversations of this nature with Gen and confirmed my suspicions: He wants no more kids but Gen does.

I made a noteworthy mention of the palmistry reading Jared received many years ago on a "blind date" he mentioned in one of the old Supernatural magazines back in 2008 that I believe 100% is relevant to what you are saying Anon.

"I believe deep down Jared is afraid of taking an honest look at things romantically (thus all this "extra" shit coming from their way), and it all goes back to this palmistry reading where he was told he will be financially rich but his love life will be bad and confided part of him is waiting for his love life to get messed up. Do note this was from the May/June 2008 issue #4 of the Supernatural Magazine, which was published around the time he broke up with Sandy and not much longer later met Genevieve...."

For anyone that is interested in the direct quote from that magazine about Jared's palm reading, that tidbit states:

"Interestingly, Padalecki has mixed feelings about palm readings. "I went to a palm reader years ago [on a blind date], and I don't remember exactly what she said, but she said I was going to be rich and have a bad love life. And I was like. 'That's crappy. Can you switch it?’ So, good news and bad news. But it was kind of kooky and funny, and she was kind of crazy…" Padalecki hasn't forgotten what the palm reader said, and he confides that a part of him is just waiting for his love life to get messed up." I also threw in this edit on that post March 13 around 12:04pm EST a couple weeks after I made the post initially that I think also greatly applies to what you are saying here Anon:

"EDIT (added 3/13/2024 @ 12:04pm EST): A good friend of mine brought up a very good point when we were discussing this topic a little after I was done making this post. She brought up how Jared had his first breakdown on the set of SPN while filming the episode "A Very Supernatural Christmas" which was back around Nov or Dec 2007. She said it's possible that given this happened months before Sandy and him broke up it is entirely possible he was not in the "right" mindset when all this dating and breaking up stuff was going on in his life. It should also be discussed in this context how Jared had his breakdown May 14, 2015 while he was in Switzerland alone (Gen had flown home within a day or two before this happened). I don't for a second buy the story she saved his life at any point. I hope some of her stans come at me for saying that because facts hurt, don't they? His so called "hero" flew home before the fact, and didn't stop to think if Jared was doing okay before she did. This trip to Europe in her eyes was a paid vacation to her, point blank. Also, given he was arrested in 2019 while intoxicated and also the bad behaviors on Twitter he's displayed in the past before Charlie seemingly took reign as his and Gen's social media manager, I honestly doubt she "saved" him from anything but being single and alone is about it."

Now for the "snake vibes", alright so I have some interesting things to say about this one. I am going to guess you're not talking about this from any metaphysical standpoint or spiritual point of view but more or less from a general, every day observations point of view. If you want to talk about the "extra" shit I spoke about, I can point you to the absurd Jared kissing her billboard here last summer, post sex (allegedly) photo here from May 20, 2022, and that stupid yet super cringe shower TOWWN ad posted on Valentine's day in 2022, and let's not forget the time Jared quickly deleted a post back in July 2021 (this Tumblr post being from the 31st but am sure this post was made on Jared's page a little before then) because it showed a container of pills and a black dildo besides it, and remade it with the photo cropped out for starters. Some people in this fandom have said that Gen had this photo on her page that was quickly around the same time period. Coincidence? Hmm maybe but I'll bet I know who took the photo to begin with, especially given what this Anon has observed with the Pads' social media behaviors.

Also, I can't stop laughing every time I see the blacked out background photo seen in this post Gen made for her birthday this year. I admittedly also once noticed a notification on my phone that Jared made a post and the caption talking about Father's Day last year in 2023. Like a dummy, I fat fingered and hit the notification before I could screenshot this. Lo and behold by the time I hit the notification it was GONE. However, right after that post was deleted it showed on Ge's page. Hmmm... It's also funny on those posts where they are being all "extra", Jared is no where to be seen "liking" these posts on Gen's Instagram. Also, I find it curious how the original Nowandgen page tagged in some of his posts that Gen once had is now gone and is now taken by a Gen stan named Julie. Hmmm but we are SO in love, aren't we? Also, we all know Jared's toboggan is a source of his comfort, we don't care if he wears this hat. In this Instagram livestream Gen and Jared did talking about the book "Happy Place" by Emily Henry ironically so, in the first couple minutes of the clip you can hear Gen saying "No, don't wear your hat". Don't get me started on the stupid comment I saw below circled in green (totally agree with the comment circled in orange I copied and pasted on this screenshot I took today, April 2, 2024). I've noticed a lot of Jared's more recent posts have been what I suspect are in fact in their guest house not the main house (ex. the "Channeling Walker at Home" post, this SPN family hoodie post), outside, or just not at home.

I listened to a podcast Gen did with Dave Hollis back in Nov 2020 someone sent to me not too long ago, which I posted on March 25, 2024. I talked about this in the context of how Gen just doesn't seem to really like her husband all that much afterall. Please review the highlights of the podcast below again straight from Gen's mouth herself:

4:30 (in the context of Dave and her discovering what really matters to them the most continuing from the last question): "This is the first time I lived with my husband. I know that sounds really crazy but my husband had been filming a TV show for 15 years in Vancouver so when all of this started you know he came down here. He had 2 episodes left and then that was the completion of the series. Personally, it meant that I had to live with him and deal with coparenting which was really stressful like the thought of it. And to make that work, and it was crazy because we were always in this tight bubble with just us and our kids and it really was simplifying. It was you know like the layers are gone. The interference is gone, drama is kinda out the window in a way, and we got to really simplify basic needs. It's so weird how much unlayering we had to do and that's what I'm finding through all of this is a lot of unlayering to get to the core".

7:25 (con't from above) I'm finding creativity in that work and you have to work on, on that relationship and um find creative ways to 'cause you know especially after the two of use have been together for 12 years, we're really different people and you grow at different times and sometimes you are like "I really don't like you right now" and then the other person grows in a different direction and you kind of have to find the balance and that creativity to come back together and that commonality to come back together and you know..."

26:25 "I was just talking to someone about this that my favorite relationship with him is a work relationship. Sometimes it's hard to be married to him because he's like, Jared is so interesting because he's so analytical. I mean my husband, I'm going to toot his horn because he's literally one of the smartest human beings I've ever met in my life and it's annoying because he will correct you on words you think he didn't even know. I have a book of SAT words just because I'm like I am going to get him. And so I'll just casually talk about something and use a crazy word in a sentence and he'll be like well you pronounced it incorrectly. It's so frustrating. Also in our marriage he's very giving and emotional and supportive. He's supportive in everything that I've done and I feel really lucky and grateful. I think even more so when it comes to work he is your biggest cheerleader and it's going to be a lot of time together. But funny enough, I think we'll be better at work than sometimes we are at home. Because I'm like, this is how the kids are, this is how I like them, this is the order that I like things in. And it's hard for me to let go I think, at home. But at work, it's just a really nice exchange and I feel really lucky, and he'll sit there too. If he's not working, he'll take it, pull up a chair and talk on the phone and watch at me and I can hear him bragging about me and whether he's doing it for my benefit I don't know but it makes me feel good and I feel really lucky that he does stuff like that."

But but.... we're so in love aren't we?! And let me just say this, maybe Gen really is a snake and is very two faced. What we see on camera is totally different from what really happens behind closed doors. I mean... who puts their young kids in therapy and calls it "brain exercise"?

29:50 "but for us specifically we both are in therapy, actually all of us, the kids are in therapy as well. We feel really strongly like it's a workout. So you know, we know we put so much emphasis on exercise."

Bottom line is, I highly doubt they are in a truly loving marriage. Can't convince me otherwise, what we see publicly is smoke and mirrors. You will rarely see how things truly are when it comes to public figures and most people generally speaking. I'm sorry to hear about your past relationships Anon and hope you have found greener pastures that have stayed greener. I myself have stayed in relationships too long after they stopped serving me in part due to my own mental health issues.

Now onto the spiritual side of things I want to delve into but gotta hit "keep reading" below in case some readers here are not interested in this kind of thing ha ha...

If you are like some of my other followers, I also talked recently about Gen partaking in black magic in multiple posts. Even if you and others find it to be hogwash or superstition, I think we can all agree that the things she talked about in making these so called boxes to "keep the marriage alive" and even keeping a box he used is odd at best and even creepy from certain points of view. I talked about it here with Gen's "snow dance for the gods", as well as this post where I discussed it in further depth and then when I first started speculating on her witchy habits here along that with one of her suspected partners in crime Charlie Capen, their social media manager. Lots of things straight from Gen's mouth also from this podcast she did with Dave Hollis. Some noteworthy things she said with respect to this topic include:

6:15: Dave said "talk a little bit about the ways you have had to be creative in maintaining the relationship that you have, the love that you have with the distance that has historically existed and the complexity of what it means to do the work that you both do. To which Gen responded "yeah I think it's finding the little things and I always enjoyed having a long distance relationship with him. It's kind of silly 'cause like it's in some ways it's like this vacation you have when you're together and then they're gone and so it's almost like super- not superficial but but it's not realistic and when we were apart, what I would do is create boxes. I mean he still has this box from um when we first met he was a port drinker. And he had a bottle of this Pinto port that he loved and so I took the box and I put in you know love letters and n' what have you and then once we had kids you know it obviously gets a little more complicated and you're strapped but just making that time. It's so silly but it's work and you have to treat it as such but without it becoming monotonous I guess.

Even if you aren't into witchcraft or just don't necessarily believe in that stuff, I myself have spoken with a psychic guy who made comments on Jensen's birthday post addressed to Danneel earlier this year who did end up talking to me some about Gen doing black magic herself amongst other things via PM. He said the following things. One of the noteworthy things from below he discussed a "strong protective field so she cannot be exposed". Maybe this relates to why so many people including admittedly himself perceive her as a cheerful, bright person who is a friendly woman. It could also be why I have yet to come across other psychics who have talked about Gen in relation to her doing witchcraft.

Note that this guy isn't in the SPN fandom, he is not a fan of Jensen or Jared's and doesn't actively follow J2 or the wives on social media or anything so much. I chose to share these screenshots crossing out his name and icon, and only showed certain parts of the conversation that are relevant to the topic here (apparently lives across the sea from where I am here in the USA, doesn't speak English and uses a translator to send messages). I do not believe personally Jared will stay with Gen forever, although from a spiritual context, some of what we are shown today can change tomorrow.

I will say that at the direction of my guides, strangely enough a few days before I even started talking to him and he made these comments, I was instructed to make a tarot card reading post I made last summer private. Months ago on this very same post that's now private, I was told also to cross out the parts where I talked about Gen and Jared "working things out" and "rekindling things". I also spoke of a "quiet separation" that won't be public knowledge which I believe is going on. Very interesting stuff, the things our guides know that we don't at the given moment. Hmm..... 12. Was there a scene you wished you could have included? Why didn't it fit in?

Ughhhh there were so many scenes I wanted! But they veered off the track of the fic. One in particular was a scene where Jared got a pretty bad cold and Jensen had to take care of him, but didn't know exactly how. Jared had to give him instructions (make tea, make bland meals) until he got too sick to do so due to a high fever. He weakly tells Jensen to bring him Tylenol, but Jensen doesn't understand what Ty-lel-onol is or what it looks like. Jensen has to run halfway to the pack and howl for Kaz to come over. I love this scene in my head, but it just didn't fit into the fic. :(

26. Wild Card! I'll tell you a fun fact about this fic!

I got a book about wolves from a dear friend when I visited them in Denver! Kinda funny that I went all the way to Denver and came back with a (very useful) book on wolves.

Another fun fact is that the name Kaz comes from one of the license plates of the Impala from SPN. XD

I mean... I think I get what anon was going for, but no show sets out to purposefully be bad. Networks aren't going to greenlight a show whose whole game plan is "be so bad people don't care about inconsistencies", that's not a viable business plan. I think what happened was that it got greenlit not on its own merit, but on the spn legacy and Jensen/Dean. But they didn't account for the fact that the Ackles would screw up the announcement so badly and alienate half the viewers. They apparently also thought spn fans wouldn't care about quality as long as they got more in the spn universe. Turns out we do care and they bet on the wrong horse.

I'm sure anon was just tossing around a fun theory, because, like you said, no one wants to put out a bad show.

If network executives really did bank on the SPN legacy/Jensen, and thinking fans would forgive mediocre television, then they also didn't understand what made SPN successful in the first place. Fans continued to watch SPN, even when it was terrible (I'm looking at you, most of the 15th season), because they wanted to see Sam and Dean. They were the heart of SPN. It wasn't the monsters, or the storylines. It was the brotherly relationship. And to greenlight a show that's missing that critical element and fail to replace it with an equally strong relationship (with lightning-in-a-bottle casting), then it's bound to fail, which it has.

I agree with your take about posting about j2 under the actor /spn tags. I’ll be sure to do the same for cockles and destiel. Also if there’s any Jared padalecki hate, that shouldn’t be under the anti tag. As it’s about Jared, whether good or bad, it should be under the normal tag. Cheers. :)

Anons, I completely respect your right to your opinions and beliefs. I’m not here to convince you or change your minds. I’m not here to force you to align with me. I’m not here to fight you either. That’s the last thing I want to do.

I want to put this to rest, on my blog at least, because my stance has not changed.

Supernatural is made up of so many ship-fandoms. There are so many smaller communities within the SPN fandom that are about shipping characters/actors. It is my strong belief that all of these ship-communities have a right to tags.

Part of what makes “being apart of a fandom” so fun is that all of us get to be apart of smaller communities where interests and passion align. For me, that is the tinhatter community.

It seems to clear to me that what a lot of anons are conveying to me through these statements are that they don’t agree with J2 tinhatter content. That’s totally fine. It is not my job to convince you or force you to believe in the things I do. I respect everyone’s right to ship whoever they want and to be able to tag those posts there without hate.

There are some ships in the SPN fandom that aren’t my cup of tea. However, I will NEVER tell them that they can’t post under actor tags. I will never police them or tell them they are wrong. I have no right to do so, and I respect those communities. I respect their right to enjoy those ships together.

You don’t have to agree with my content. Nor do you have to believe in whatever I’m saying. It’s not my job to mother you. However, tinhatters r just as much apart of the SPN fandom as any other ship. We should be able to enjoy the tags as any other ship or theory blogger.

If you look under Jensen and Jared’s tags, anyone and everyone posts their theories and takes there. Everyone posts ship posts, etc… that is their right.

During this time, I wanted to also address the anon that got a little aggressive with the “it’s okay for me to post anti-Jared since it’s about the actor”.

It is my hope that everyone on here knows what human decency is. It is my hope that there aren’t people going online to rip apart an actor. I mean, i really do hope there aren’t people out there who actually “anonymously” write horrible things about actors because they suddenly have courage sitting behind their computer screens.

Me, a tinhatter, posting my take on an interaction or event between J2 under their tags doesn’t harm anyone. In fact, I blend right in since there are so many others with different theories about J2 or the individual actors.

I understand that not everyone will agree with what I have to say. I respect that, but my blog will continue to post J2 content. I’m not forcing you to believe. Would like to see more alternatives to. I think once you see something enough in fanon you're gonna wanna like, make sense of and play with it in your own fics so that's why I'm mostly fine with seeing something a lot of repeated tropes as long as writers make it work rather than treat that it as a given.

That's totally fair of you! You are stronger than me lmaoooo. I do think strange fanon is much more prevalent in tumblr hc and tumblr fics, though some of it does permeate into the ao3 verse too. I actually had to stop reading as much ST fic as I used to because I was getting too frustrated by reading the same thing over and over and not able to find anything that wasn't a romance fjdigjidgs.

Yeah I personally do think Steve's parents were not good parents but there are sooo many ways you could work with it that no one ever does. Like idk did he used to have grandparents that watched him as a kid and now they're gone and the parents never bothered to start caring? Does Steve's dad actually ride his ass super hard (which would make sense with some of the stuff he says about him) but only from a distance? Is his dad gone all the time but his mother actually is normally there and only just started going out of town with him because he got caught cheating? Or maybe they're actually home all the time and that's why after s1 we never see Steve's house again because he is avoiding being at home. I even have an au where they are actually good parents but they do the spn hunter thing and so Steve stays home and holds down the fort a lot because they don't wanna take him on hunts. So many possibilities!

I do agree, even the tropes I agree with can get tiring at times when you see it too many times. Like yeah it's tried and true but sometimes you just gotta shake things up a little bit like a snowglobe, see what happens if you change one little thing. I think the "treating it as a given" is also one of the BIGGEST things. Like nah you gotta work for it, stop assuming everyone has the same fandom opinions as you. Yes everything and everyone feels a lot like Dean, duh because this is the John and Mary winchester story as told by Dean. But also you can't tell me you don't see Sam in John, come on! Is freaking canon that Sam and John are very a like and that's why they collide so much. Anyway, this show is esencialy about Dean, this is Dean reflecting on himself while telling this story.

Yes the romantic scenes feel way too cheesy like a soap opera, down to the music, and yes, John's infatuation with Mary feels odd and unjustified. But that's the freaking point! They are being forced together by divine intervention! How do you know this entire thing isn't a play put on by the Angels, just to manipulate them into falling in love.

Hah, yes I agree so much with you when you say missed all the right marks in this ep. And that's been a problem lately, I think. Sometimes it feels a little like they are wasting time on unimportant things.

There is hope yet for things to be different. And really, it's not the actor's fault when they are handed so little to work with. Also, Oliver did a great job there and you can see he loved it, too.

Thing is, people tend to forget that the general audience doesn't analyze like fandom does. If they don't like things, most of them won't be bothered to connect the dots if they aren't glaringly obvious. So they stop watching. And it sucks. Doesn't mean they are too stupid to get the storytelling just that the story isn't one for them.

We still have hope but apparently a lot of general viewers aren't liking it much right now. And I feel a little sad for the cast.

I think those that don't delve into the story or the fandom and just watch the show will continue to watch it.

They weren't expecting anything, except a fun hour to disconnect from the day.

Being in a fandom is our way to disconnect, from rl, from troubles of the day to day, from our own troubled thoughts.

I think the showrunners and writers missing the mark by miles is because they keep outsourcing the drama, instead of working with what they have.

They try so hard, too hard to make the storytelling touching in a most complicated way, that they forget that the simplest way is to concentrate on what exists. Work with the ppl who invested their lives in this show for years.

Like Bobby with Buck and Bobby with May. Like Athena telling Buck to wake up!

Like Hen not leaving the room, and Chimney standing in the hall in front of Buck’s window until he's kicked home.

Like Christopher pleading with his second dad to find his way back to them. Like Eddie barely handling seeing his beloved, larger than life Buck, like this.

Maddie, in the risk of losing another brother, the fact that her brother was willing to climb up, so that Chimney will safe on the ground.

There was no need for outsiders, no need for interlopers who will be gone by next episode.

But still, obsessing over the wrong details get people exasperated with what they keep getting.

I love this show and the characters, and the actors, but I really want the writers and showrunners to pick the regulars, maybe add a person or two to the team and stick with it.

Make it fun, make it emotional, make it count. Hurt us, make us laugh, make us love everyone, endear them to us.

That's the key to good storytelling, and so far, they're not sticking to landing. I'm hoping the rest of the season will just get better because s6a was good, I believe s6b can be better.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Always, I've had people comment about the fact that I'm still responding to comments on fifteen year old fic. If you're going to read and take the time to comment, I'm gonna say thank you. Plus, community is the best part of fandom, how can you have community if you're not talking?

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Oh it's for sure lathbora viran which is the only story I've written that I had to tag "no happy ending." Although honestly swaps would probably say that For a Single Yesterday was also pretty fuckin' angsty. But Kaidan finds peace, my poor inquisitor absolutely did not.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Probably my Julie and the Phantoms fic, gravity, though I did absolutely take people through the ringer first.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

When I first got into hockey I ended up on the anon hate list for a hot minute because it was obvious from the first fic I posted that I didn't know anything about hockey because, well, I didn't. I'd never watched it before I got involved in the fandom. So it was valid criticism even if it was mean spirited.

9. Do you write smut. If so what kind?

The smuttiest thing I've ever written is a PWP threesome for the Oilers boys called Hold You Down. I enjoy reading smut but as a noted ace I feel awkward as fuck about writing it.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Yes. Crazy is such a subjective word, but I've written the hockey dudes into the Pacific Rim world and I fixed the shit about the Pac Rim world that never really made sense. I had a much more in depth story plotted out but I lost steam on writing RPF.

Not that I've ever been told?

Yes, but that fic is no longer online.

Twice. I had fun both times but prefer to set my own pace through a fic.

Idk, they're all my children. I love them all equally. I think in general I'm most proud of the Julie and the Phantoms fic, because I just really feel like I nailed the thesis of it, because I had a thesis, and it wasn't just "a meets b and they fall in love." (Which isn't a diss, this is what I usually write, that fic was just different.) But yeah, they're all my favorite. YOU tell ME which your favorite is.

Can I just say that you're the Queen of anon scenarios? I just read the karaoke Ask and everything from the song choices to the invitees and their quirks was *chef's kiss*.

Please I need to know, how would the night go for a group of SPN characters (however many) if you're all going camping... or glamping for the weekend?

I didn’t want to go. And not because I don’t like camping - I do. I’ve been camping a ton of times and it’s always fun to gather around a fire and yadayada… s’mores and such, but… well, I had a nightmare about a Wendigo chasing me and when I told Cas about it (after he prodded), he informed me that my imagination was way off and the creatures were, in fact, way worse than my nightmare had made them and… OK, I’m tough and all, but ya know, sometimes, nightmares stick with you? Anyway- I was low key scared to go. Also, like, we don’t do relaxing. Vacations aren’t really a thing we do, so I was certain we’d run into a case somewhere between us and the woods. 

I was wrong. 

There was no case. No monsters, no murder. There were s’mores… many, many s’mores and Dean spent most of the night covered in marshmallow that he tried to wipe off on my face bc he’s a child. 

Jack was amazed by everything. I’m talkin’- from setting up the tents to finding sticks for the fire. Sometimes, it’s hard to remember that he’s literally still a child, bc, well, he’s just about as tall as I am, but he really is. Everything is new to him, strange, fun. While collecting wood, we saw an owl, lord- he acted like it was the most amazing thing in the entire world. And, I guess, in that moment, it was. Nature is beautiful and we forget sometimes to appreciate it. Jack helps us remember to breathe and look around occasionally. Bless his heart. 

Sam was pensive, as always, staring into the fire with a finger over his upper lip, brows furrowed like he was trying to solve world hunger. That is, until Eileen poked at him and they went for a walk. I don’t want to say I know what they were up to, but the moon was full, the crickets were chirping something romantic, and they were gone for a good forty-five minutes. Not that I was keeping track. Also, good for them. They’re so cute!

Cas. Castiel, my darling angel, he got into a storytelling mood somehow, and he regailed us with stories of the past. Not, like, the recent past, either. I’m talking- creation level past. He spoke about seeing the stars appear for the first time and how they seemed to glow so brightly against all the black. He talked about the very first steps he took upon Earth, and how strange it has always felt to have feet and feel the ground underneath them, and how we so take for granted the tangible nature of humanity. He went on for a while, and it was nice to sit and listen as the stars danced for us. He also did some tricks with the smoke that made Jack’s face light up so bright I almost cried. It was nice to see him happy. 

I was still freaked out beyond anything, and every time a twig snapped in the darkness, I jumped nearly out of my skin. But, as always, Dean was there to hold my hand and laugh at me, which somehow was more comforting than the handholding. Seeing him smile, truly smile, is something I’ll never get over. He’s so fucking beautiful I just lose my mind when I’m around him. He’s my safe place. 

I’m not gonna get into what happened in the tent with him, but let’s just say, my air mattress now has a hole in it, and while I’m a little annoyed, it was too much fun to really be mad about. 

Camping… was an adventure. I think we might go again… who knows ;)

You’re entitled to your opinions, but twisting facts and fabricating narratives doesn’t give weight to them. Similarly regarding Misha’s history. For example scholarships exist.

Hello Anon, welcome back to my inbox. We're all entitled to our opinions, you're right. I also see we are not going to agree. Therefore, it's gonna be a waste of both of our time going back and forth on things. There are other reasons why I do not believe Misha is as "angelic" as the character he played on SPN. The examples you discussed are onstage behavior. These are actors we are talking about here, of course they're going to often times put on their best face in front of an audience. Does it always happen? No but generally these guys tend to put their best face forward with some occasional slips. I also believe that with the 1 example I gave, smiling about it when realizing someone's recording it versus when it's actually happening are 2 different things. It was very clear that Jared was NOT happy with Misha here and that Misha was thrown off guard and had a smile that was more or less a nervous type smile (no mutual smiling or laughing going on here). This does not indicate horseplay to me.

As far as the history narrative goes, scholarships do exist but then there goes the question of whether they actually got scholarships or not. Also, why would it be such a bad thing to go to public school or talk about these said scholarships for being poor if this is a big focus of his so called story? Scholarships also aren't always given every year to the same person. It's very hard for me to believe Misha went K-12 to good private schools on scholarships alone... To say I'm twisting facts and fabricating narratives, all I'm really doing is stating my observations. What am I twisting here, and what narrative am I fabricating here? What would I possibly gain from doing that? Right, nothing... Have a wonderful evening Anon.
