Weird Al beach boys song best ever shitting My pants and decomposing
#talkingcore#I hit weird Al in my album adventure and this song is slaughtering me I am so happy#like it’s not just a beach boys parody that milks off of the surfer aesthetic no!!!!#it’s like Everything Pet sounds + smile era and like AHHHHHH there’s a part which is like wind chimes and not the smiley smile wind chimes#since that one is kinda Mwamp:/ no!! the smile version!!! and it sounds especially similar to the Brian Wilson version released in 2004#which like given this came out in 2006 100% influenced it to some capacity like it’s not just the melody but the layering of the vocals#it’s the instruments the mixing UGH it’s faithful in the most majestic way possible#idk the fact you can stick a harpsichord in there and immediately the little monkey in my brain is like 🤨 Brian Wilson? ACKCJCHH#time for my bi-annual rewatch of Brian Wilson’s SMiLE in concert#which like I think is hands down one of the best live performances like smile is fucking complex the variety of instruments is bonkers#like the whole workshop bit has them just turning on drills and shit! not even addressing the orchestration!!#so being able to recreate that at a near perfect level LIVE? like No Cuts???? absolutely wild it’s life changing#fun fact! it was watching that concert on youtube (it’s on youtube!) that made my beach boys brain spiral#like before august of 2021? normal. consumed music rather averagely. post august 2021? insane like the fact that in less than 4 months#I managed to skew my stats so much like at least 60% of 2021 became The Beach Boys#that’s not even addressing 2022 which got the most hit cause that’s 12 months! I think there’s maybe >10 songs out of the 100 that aren’t#the beach boys or okay at least beach boys related like I’m gonna count brian And Carl and dennis’ solo material in there too#especially given their overlap in production like Hell! how many songs were meant for Brian solo projects and were given to The Beach Boys?#Caroline no is credited just with Brian when it was released as a single even though she’s on pet sounds!!! AHGGGHH need to calm down

▼2025 02/11 (Tue) Club eX, Tokyo 17:00 / 18:00
Setlist Notes: The new song is called “With”. I originally thought it was “Wish”. My bad! Not sure about the order of some of those songs (maybe there’s something missing too??). I had to wait till I was on the train to write everything down but at that point, all the songs had gotten mixed up in my mind. It was made worse by the fact that I didn’t immediately recognise some of them and Hikaru didn’t always introduce them either☠️
That ticket holder clearfile looks so good!! Glad we got this as tokuten. A bit bummed though that there was no special design for the drink ticket😿For those who bought more than one copy of the “Mask” EP, there was a special present too, an alternative cover image. Super pretty 🤩 I mostly spent the rest of my day in Kyoto eating touristy stuff 😅And I headed to the Pokemon Center to get a few exclusive items for my nieces/nephews.
On a side note, those pink gummies were posted by Keiko earlier this week on her Yodel app. Of course I had to get them too (tho the packaging is a bit different, there’s a variety of designs. I got the same design as her today🤗)
1.With 2.Treasure??? 3.Koganeiro no Yakusoku 4.Flow 5.Survivor 6.Under the rain (acoustic ver.) 7.Lack 8.YES/NO 9.Disclose 10.Escape 11.End of line 12.Kiseki En 1.Breathe En 2.紡-TSUMUGU-
Some highlights: I was SUPER close to the stage, it was AMAZING!!🤩 You can even see me quite clearly on the photo that Hikaru posted 🤗So glad she allowed us to take off our masks for the photo. Wouldn’t have wanted to miss that opportunity.
As always, Hikaru had an incredible stage presence, she was confident and cool, oozing charisma during each and every performance. I feel like we made eye contact several times but maybe that’s just wishful thinking 🙃Her singing was powerful and even though I didn’t always recognise the song (shame on me), I had a good time. “Under the rain” was hands down my favourite 💕So beautiful. I almost cried. She sounded better than she ever did before. The acoustic arrangement is very flattering. The upbeat songs were a ton of fun (despite sitting right in front of the speakers☠️). Hikaru literally rocked the stage🔥I almost feel bad for not being more active but I guess I’m just not the type to move a lot. (Clapping is the most I’ll usually do😅)
Sorry for adding lots of stuff on the go. I forgot to mention that Hikaru teased some upcoming solo activities for 2025. She says there are already more or less concrete plans but she will wait to make an announcement until everything is finalised. Of course she also briefly discussed the Kalafina Anniversary concert and asked who of us was planning to go. Obviously, almost everyone said that they would come, Hikaru seemed very happy about that and ensured us that they would put all of their love and strength into delivering the best possible music to us so we should all look forward to it.
EP Mask Tracklist Notes: For some reason I thought there would be more new songs🫣But it’s just “With”. The other tracks have been released digitally already.
1.with 2.End of line 3.Lack 4.Koganeiro no Yakusoku 5.Breathe 6.Kiseki

13th Single 「End of line」 MV (Short ver.) ④
And here’s another music video clip of the MV for Hikaru’s latest single release. You can watch it on Instagram! Also be sure to check out her YouTube Short. The song is featured on her EP “Mask” which is set to be on sale at her solo tour venues.

Jinpine Radio #5
Tumblr media
Long time no Jin! Translation of the radio segment from his official YouTube channel. Original video here. Done on commission!
The livestream starts with a whole minute of nothing but clicking. Jin and Inpine’s avatars have some... modifications on them. An indication that this episode will be just a lot of fooling around. It always is, but this time it’s on purpose.
Inpine suddenly starts singing and Jin can’t hold back a laugh. Yes, they’re doing a skit again and they just ruined the surprise.
Inpine: Strolling is so fun! The air’s so good in the countryside! Aah! Such nice weather! Haaah! Oh? There’s a yellow video tape lying around in the middle of nowhere! *high-pitched screaming* Must be some pervert’s tape! Guess I’m gonna watch it using my uncle’s VCR! Now, now, now, video tape goes in! Clank, clank, clank! Press plaaay!
[some weird-ass noise effects]
Inpine: Transformation!! (T/N: the word used for “transformation” here is “henshin”, which is the title of Jin’s latest song at the time of this livestream)
[background music blasts on]
Jin: *clears throat with the most monstrous, alien-sounding voice filter ever* All right! Guess Imma go around doing evil stuff for one more day! *villain laughter*
Inpine: Ah! There you are! Sea monster Jin! Your days of wrongdoing are over!
Jin: Who’re you?!
Inpine: Ora, ora, ora! I’m a hero of justice, Inpine!
Jin: “Inpine”, you say?! Come at me with all you have!!
Inpine: Gimme back my pervy tape! Take this! Inpine puuunch!!
Jin: Stop! That hurts! S-Stop!!
Inpine: Inpine Kick!!
Jin: He got meee!
[music stops]
Inpine: Jin, Hatsune Miku. “Henshin”. You can listen to it on YouTube and NicoNico Douga—
Jin: Pffft!
Inpine: It’s out right now. Please support us.
As the skit ends, Jin does the usual greeting and introduces himself, then passes the baton to Inpine and does a little bit of promo for his song and its MV. Inpine feigns ignorance to the fact that the MV was also out, even though he was literally the one who made it along with Sayuki. Jin then announces the guests of this episode: the bassist Natsume Yuuki and the drummer Janku (Junk), who played as support musicians for “Henshin”. Jin adds that he’d also wanted to invite Saiyuki for this one, but admits that he and Inpine wouldn’t have been able to handle more than two guests at once. The figurines on Jin and Inpine’s avatars represent Natsume and Janku.
They’ll be discussing music this time around. Jin starts it out by talking about “Henshin”, giving some fun facts about its conception:
Jin had already worked with Natsume before, but this was his first time working with Janku
Jin and Natsume are actually quite close and Jin calls him “Nacchi”
It was the peak of summer when he received the proposal to write the song, so he didn’t want to do it at first (as mentioned in the previous livestream, the rainy season and summer are the worst times of the year for him)
He reconsidered it, because summer is also a time of the year when he feels like listening to fast-beat songs
He jokes that when he contacted Inpine about it, the latter “emerged from the shadows” asking, “Mister, Mister, I’m sniffing the smell of a new song in the air. You called?”
By then, Jin had already decided that he wanted insects to be the theme (specifically, insects that are omnipresent during Japanese summer, such as cicadas and moths)
After this, Jin personally contacted Natsume and Janku to play with him
Now, Jin knows that the listeners might be at loss about the guests, as it’s their first time there, so he also gives some trivia about how he met them. He got to know both of them through a common friend and they first met through an app. The name of the app was not revealed, but it’s used by musicians for remote music sessions.
Jin then asks the guests to talk about what they’d been working on recently. Natsume was doing usual bassist work. He plays for all sorts of artists and even does livestream concerts. He also makes clothes as a hobby. The first time he played with Jin was during his livestream with Peanuts-kun.
Janku’s work life is pretty much the same as Natsume’s, the only difference being the instrument he plays. He uploads his performances to social media every now and then.
Jin explains that the reason why he wanted to work with them for “Henshin” was that they were very loud players and the beat of their sound was exceptional. He describes it as a “pang-pang” kind of sound and jokes that he made the request by asking them, “Please lend me your pang-pang!”, to which they replied with, “Guess we got no choice”.
Back to the topic of the song itself, Jin dives into the production:
The making of this song was different from usual in many aspects, starting with the fact that they didn’t have lots of meetings to decide on things
No studio was used for the demo
The composition was made entirely without recordings
The sessions were held at Natsume’s and Janku’s homes
In order to test out what kind of sound would fit the song best, Janku spent a whole day on a call with Jin, playing the drum for him to listen
Once they reached the intensity that Jin wanted, Janku started working on the base melody by himself, sending samples for Jin to listen to and approve
Janku was very worried about whether or not he’d manage to make the melody sound “Jin-like”, but Jin was pretty satisfied with the result
When Jin asks Janku how he felt while working on the song, Janku says he had a lot of fun and that the sound felt rather nostalgic to him, for some reason – even though it was a newly produced melody, it felt like something he had already heard somewhere before
Jin asks Natsume the same question and he answers that, although he’s taken part in the songs of so many people, there was never one that he felt so much like playing, and asserts that that there’s something inherently grotesque about it, which Jin agrees with (because of course he would)
When Jin and Natsume listened to Janku’s drums, it was like a wake-up call for them – they realized that they were lagging behind him, and went all-out in order to catch up
Jin comments that Natsume did some pretty nasty stuff with his bass and thanked him for it (this is obviously meant to sound ambiguous because Jin just Be Like That, but he’s referring to the sound that Natsume produced with his bass, not... anything else)
Natsume played in a way that didn’t match the drums at all, on purpose
He took the liberty to do that without receiving any instructions for it, and instead of feeling disrespected, Jin thinks it was a genius move
The only thing Jin asked him to do was to “make it gross”
Jin believed that Natsume was confident he could take on the job, but in reality, Natsume was at a loss back then
When he asked Jin what he wanted specifically, all he got as an answer was a “Pleeease!”
After he got samples of Natsume’s “gross play”, Jin sent it to Inpine, who replied on LINE, “Wow! This sounds so disgusting! It’s the best thing ever!”
Finally came the time to add the guitar to the demo, but even on the previous night, Jin was very much at a loss as to how to go on about it, so he texted Natsume about it
Natsume says the message looked like Jin was saying his last words, as he decided to start out with a totally unsuspecting and not at all dramatic “It is time for me to go”
Jin explains he had no choice but give his utmost after the other two had delivered such fine performances
On the day he was supposed to play, he announced that he would do it without any clothes on, “I can’t give my all with clothes on. Sorry. It was wrong of me to try to do that before. Sorry for trying to wear clothes. I’m gonna do this butt-naked.”
Up to this point, he had been playing while seated on a chair, but this time, he “had to stand up” and began playing after screaming, “TAKE THIS!!”
While playing, he accidentally hit his guitar against the wall... thrice
This was a brand-new guitar and that was his first time using it
When he got to the outro, he went batshit without hesitation
He wanted to have recorded himself playing naked, so that he could send it to his mother with the caption, “This is the work you’ve made”
After listening to this demo, Inpine got the idea of doing a rewind in the MV
He did that before the song itself was ready, and the rewind just so happened to match it perfectly
Jin didn’t want this to be a “good” song, so to speak – he wanted the listeners to feel uncomfortable and sickened by it
He requested the sound engineers to add a “pang-pang” beat to the finished product
Jin says he really did something terrible in making that song and laughs at the fact that he hasn’t offered a single word of praise to it
Inpine jokes that even “Hatsune-san” would find the song repulsive (yes, this is meant as a compliment)
Jin writes a lot of songs in the summer because it’s “a season in which not everything is all beauty”
Inpine says that the refreshing summer that everyone has in their minds only happens for a couple hours in early morning, while the rest of the day is all about fighting against a scorching heat under the dark, dark shadows cast from the overwhelming sunlight – that’s why he decided to make the MV’s color palette jewel-toned and somber
Jin bought all sorts of effectors to produce the sound he wanted for the song, which cost him 30K yen in total, and he was in shock when checking on how much he had spent
He hoped everyone listening to the livestream would go watch the MV, as it cost him a whole lot of money
He wanted “Henshin” to sound like a time slip back to one’s old self
(T/N: This doesn’t really translate in summary format, but when they were talking about the song, there was an endless number of jokes involving the “pang-pang” thingy.)
At this point, Jin realizes that they’d been talking about music for the near entirety of the livestream. It was expected, since the two were the first musician guests of the channel, and as such, Jin was aware that it'd be fine to just talk about music, but he also wanted to have a lighthearted chit-chat. He asked Janku the day before about ideas for topics, which they couldn't decide on, so they decided to roll the dice. What they got as a result was something that, according to Janku, would’ve turned the livestream into a broadcast disaster. Jin then asks the others if they had any topics they wanted to discuss and Inpine says that’s the scariest way possible to pass the baton.
Natsume decides to answer the question first and Inpine is thankful that he’s able to take it forward from there, saying that Natsume “really is very capable”. Jin asks if he can go ahead and “eat the squid”, implying that they have snacks with them, and everyone agrees that they should eat first. While Natsume talks, there are sounds of plastic bags being ripped open in the background. These guys are a mess.
Natsume talks about a time not so long ago where he was sick and had to lie down in bed for days. He was bored out of his mind because he was allowed to do nothing but rest, so he decided to binge some anime. He wanted to watch something long and that he had never watched before, and as if on cue, he saw that Togashi Yoshihiro had created a Twitter account. This reminded him that he had actually never watched HunterxHunter, so he’d been binging it, and the day that the “Henshin” MV came out was exactly the day that he began the chimera ant arc. He felt that this was fate at work. When he saw the MV, he was like, “Whoa! That’s chimera ants right there! Inpine-san!?”
Inpine is a little embarrassed at this, because he had the feeling that they’d been making “Henshin” together all the way. He really thought that he’d been sharing with them the whole process of the video making, but in fact, the musicians were in the dark about most of it.
On the topic of the MV, Inpine admits that he doesn’t like insects and that he was put-off when finding out that insects would be the theme. He confesses that, because of this, he kind of avoided the insect element in the video, up till the latter half of it. He says that, back when he was making the video, he was driving down the street one night and had to open the window to see what was ahead of him. Turns out that what was blocking his vision was a swarm of moths. According to him, the swarm was covering the road for about 200 meters, and he couldn’t close the window in time. About three moths got inside the car, which had him shrieking like a little girl, “Nooo! Why does this kinda thing always happen to me!?”
Jin: And then you got bitten by a radioactive moth!
Inpine: Yeah, yeah, yeah! And then “Henshin”! I transformed!
Inpine says the moths were dead on his dashboard the next morning. He decided to observe them, which helped him finally grasp the concept and the feel of “Henshin”. He says that this, in a way, was his chimera ant arc. Natsume jokes that the experience might as well have broken him.
Jin says that, when writing the lyrics of “Henshin”, he thought about his kindergarten years a lot. “Henshin” is a song about the things people deem beautiful and the things they deem disgusting. People usually have weird tastes when they’re still little kids, and when Jin was in kindergarten, he was even weirder. There was a corner for hanging coats at his nursery school, and he used to sit there the whole day, just playing with the keyboard harmonica. Everyone could tell that he was one hell of a weirdo. He adds that Inpine, his first-ever friend, was just as weird. After all, he used to draw nothing but cars all the time. Jin says that this thing they used to do, throwing away their concern with what people would think of them, was his inspiration for making “Henshin”. A representation of early childhood summer, much like everything else Jin has ever made.
It is here that, at long freaking last, Jin decides to talk about the wallpaper for this livestream. He says he and Inpine made it together and everyone agrees that it’s “too damn gross”. It’s pretty obvious that it was made exclusively for that one livestream, since Natsume’s picture has moth antennas.
The group suddenly sobers up when Jin says that making this song with them was very fun and he hopes to make more with them in the future. Both Natsume and Janku are very flattered and agree to it on the spot. This heartwarming moment only lasts for a little bit, until Natsume remembers a good thing that happened recently. He starts talking about his experience going to a sauna, where he felt so refreshed that it was almost like the air he’d been breathing up to that point wasn’t real air. After he was done, he went outside, threw himself on a sunlounger and “entrusted his body to the sunlight”. According to him, it was the best feeling ever and everyone should go to a sauna at least once. The other three joke that maybe Natsume is actually an insect. Inpine says he likes sleeping inside his car in the parking lot after going to the sauna, affirming that it’s “the best way to wake up”.
The topic turns into what to do in the next livestreams, and Jin says once again that he wants to play games in the upcoming episodes. Janku says he’s pretty good at Gartic Phone and Natsume agrees that playing it with him is pretty funny. Jin says he’s seen Janku playing the game before – he saw him drawing a playground slide, except he also drew both himself and Jin sliding down on it. Natsume and Inpine lose it. Jin says he’d love to play with the three of them, plus Saiyuki. All of them agree that Saiyuki would be the strongest at it.
Time comes for them to end the livestream. Jin once again talks about making songs with these members in the future. He also talks about keeping eyes open to announcements on Twitter and asks the listeners to tell everyone they can about “Henshin”, even people sitting next to them at train stations.
The way they say goodbye in this episode is a tad... different from usual.
Jin: This has been Jin...
Inpine: ...Inpine, whose favorite food is beef tongue...
Natsume: ...Natsume Yuuki, whose f-favorite drink is Gogo no Koucha Oishii Mutou... (T/N: That’s the actual name of a bottled tea brand.)
Janku: ...and Janku, whose favorite drink is Boss’s café au lait.
Jin: That’s it!
All: That’s iiit! *whistles and weird voices* Byeee~!

Meet the Witch - 2024 Edition
Honestly I have not introduced myself in a LONG time because I've had this account since 2014 ish - so in case there are new people here this can be a good reference point.
So hi, hello - this is me in 2024. You can call me Cara but most people here know me as Torque! My pronouns are They/Them and I am currently 32 and married. I live in Pittsburgh, PA.
Most people know me for my devotion to Hel, Norse goddess of Death and my art of her!
Tumblr media
(My hair is a bit longer so I just pull it back - but I barely take pictures anymore. Anyhow -)
What's new?
Still chronically ill and disabled; in 2024 we are still recovering from medical trauma that induced two phobias, POTS-like symptoms and a mystery digestive issue that is probably the severe IBS my meds that caused the trauma were controlling.
I am currently and hopefully to stay fully self-employed after finally getting off my feet from said trauma that left me pretty house-bound for a year. Somewhere in there I got a job with a catering company that truly was terrorizing, never reported me for taxes and therefore fucked up my finance history.
But, in 2024 so far I have done a good amount of shows and toured again briefly with the Oddities & Curiosities Expo group in cities outside of PA and that was incredible! I grew a lot as an artist, and it really helped me to work through some of my phobias and continue to stabilize.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can find my Etsy here but I am focusing most of my efforts on shows! It would be best to follow my Instagram to keep up with events and new products!
Otherwise I've just been focusing on adulting and trying to fix our finances so that we can actually buy a house someday (hopefully).
A fun fact is that I started listening to ATEEZ in mid-2023 and got to see them in concert in DC this year as a bday gift to myself. It was absolutely the most incredible thing I've ever experienced. They are PERFORMERS.
Tumblr media
If you're still on the fence about listening to Kpop, you're missing out! I poo-pooed it for a long time as cringey, but ATEEZ has very progressive lyrics and most of the fan-base in real life are alternative women and enby's in their 20's and 30's. Seriously the most fun I've ever had.
Other than that if I need to state it again, this page is for representation and acceptance of all forms and hate will not be tolerated. It's impossible to write out all the ways that people can be hateful but basically don't be a nazi or phobic in any way.
Not much else happened this year except a bunch of small-town drama associated with said catering company (story time?) and shit with our previous landlord (we moved). I made some really good local friends that I'm so appreciative of, and joined a DnD campaign for the first time!
Tumblr media
My character is Ashaf Tendara, an Arcana Cleric archeologist who accidentally found some ruins of Ubtao and now unfortunately because of one of the sessions, their way of spell-casting is just screaming T-rex noises for ten minutes straight (Ubtao is related to dinosaurs somehow). We've finally emerged from the poop dungeons in said campaign, and some of those interactions I've wrote down are truly incredible. My Mage Hand is also a spectral sticky hand. My husband's steel defender's name is Duke Poop'em because of said poop dungeons.
I also read manga, watch anime and still read young adult fantasy at my big age (Adult SciFi is sooooo dense omg but it just takes me longer lol) and watch cozy game and horror playthroughs on YouTube. I listen to podcasts a lot about the paranormal, true crime and reddit readings.
Basically I'm a chronically ill and online shut-in artist with some witchy stuff sprinkled up in there.
I hope that was exciting and super informative. If you have any questions please send them in!

Sorry I lied here's one last ask! You mentioned before that Lee Know is probably your bias in SKZ because of the dancing, and it made me wonder: what's the thing that draws you in with kpop? Is it mostly about the dancing like with LK, the lore, the theatrical performances, etc etc? Would love to hear about it ^^
I'm a huge dance fan - ballet, modern, Broadway, Korean classical - but I frankly wasn't very into the style of dancing that kpop did. I understood it's very hard to do but a lot of that style of dancing just looks like a militarized version of a really frantic aerobics class to me. So whenever I saw some of it on tv or youtube, because Kpop is all around if you live in Korea obviously, none of it grabbed at me. Until Lee Know and the Stray Kids choreo! He has a really clean and sharp grasp of the vocabulary of Kpop dancing that I haven't seen before, which made me very invested.
The content I find still find the most fun, in month 6 of being into kpop, are the studio dance practice videos where they aren't all dolled up and are wearing whatever. Stray Kids and Ateez often do very sophisticated looking choreo, with seamless formation changes and synchronizations, and all the dancers in both groups "sell" the shit out of every step.
The second thing I like is how Stray Kids and Ateez both blend in traditional and neo-traditional Korean cultural elements and references into audiovisual content they intend to market worldwide. It's fun to hear my family's regional dialect get featured in a dance pop song like Ateez did with 멋. Changbin of Stray Kids, on a song they titled Thunderous in English, does a really interesting blend of rapping and pansori that I haven't seen much discussed, but I was delighted when I first heard it and I think he's brilliant.
I was initially repelled by the idea of having to learn a 'lore' in order to understand a goddamn pop song, like omg why are you giving me HOMEWORK when you're supposed to ENTERTAIN me? (Cranky) But then, if having lore is what gives room for Seonghwa to wear a tight black outfit and weep on his knees because his angel wings have been ripped off by the forces of evil as part of their concert? Oh, then Ateez can have all the lore they want. Absolutely.
The third thing that draws me in is the fact that kpop boybands make content clearly geared at women, for the female gaze. I don't care if it's done well or if it's there to hypnotize me into spending money via parasocial obsession. Korean mainstream culture, the way I experience it, is a place where the men on screen talk only to other men for any serious discussions, where all the women look like surreally perfect dolls while fat, ugly, aging men are given huge amounts of screen time to make men feel better about themselves, and where there are no stories about women who exist as themselves outside of their relationship with a father, brother, husband, boyfriend, or son. Watching boybands doesn't help the female representation, but it's made with the express intention of giving me dopamine, and I appreciate that so much.

hey! do you think these two lovely dorks really have some kind of romantic relationships off stage or it’s just me?🥺 every time when i start to think about this my brain just like ewsxswasszzw
I couldn't sleep all night because I was thinking about that message, lol 😆
let's start with the fact that i love the band since 99. i started listening to them when i was 11 years old and of course i didn't think about their relationship within the band (I didn't even know what they looked like for a very long time because I only had a live aus berlin cassette which i stolen from a classmate and it was without a cover ( I wanted to destroy it because he bored everyone at school by constantly talking about this group 😁 fun fact: this guy is my best friend now and I'm his daughter's godmother)
soo one day in a popular russian teen magazine i saw a picture of them (paul and richard) and a caption under the picture that changed my life 😆
the caption went like this (I just still keep this magazine and was able to translate that, do not think that I remember it by heart 😆) : «A month ago, being in Moscow, the members of the band Rammstein claimed that they loved only women and were not interested in guys! And what they were doing on stage (sticking microphones into each other in different places) was just an artistic image. just a joke. then the cult Germans left to continue to amaze Europe with their music. Poor guys, they didn't know that we (the magazine's editorial staff) followed them. And in Prague we had already seen guitarists Paul Landers and Richard Kruspe admiring each other. Look at these lovebirds, isn't that love?»
and I remember looking at that picture and thinking "omg! this is really love!" 🥰 many months later I learned what fanfiction was and what slash was and how surprised I was that I wasn't the only one who thought that about them, that there was something sweet between them? (it was 2004, for some reason I thought it was 01/02, but no, it was 2004)
and I made so many new friends and we had so many awesome stories in russian fandom!!! and ever since then in my head I've always thought that there was something going on between them. there weren't many videos and pictures back then, but every time I saw them next to each other it made me smile 🥰
then youtube came along and I probably saw all the videos that were posted back then and always watched how Richard and Paul acted with each other
I started making gifs since 2010 and it's always been a joy to find cute moments from concerts with them 💖
and then 2019 happened. i remember that day so well. i downloaded this huge video from spain and started watching it from the beginning, i wasn't expecting anything at all. and first i saw richard kiss paul's forehead at puppe and i was like WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN? and then someone sent me a text saying "watch auslander" and I rewinded to that moment and saw that kiss on the lips and you should have heard my screams! I CLOSED MY LAPTOP, I THREW IT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BED. I FELL OFF THE BED ONTO THE FLOOR AND I JUST SCREAMED LIKE THIS: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA (and with a lot of russian swear words 😆😆😆😆😆 ) my dad came running into the room and thought I was dying or being killed 😆 I thought my spirit had left my body I had imagined it in my head for so many years (really many many years!!) and now I saw it for real? I couldn't even in my wildest dreams imagine that this could actually happen.
I still have a lot of questions: how did they decide to do it? why? for what? what does it all mean? was it scripted? i think in 19 yes, and in 22 too. but still every time it was something cute and new and they are adults and hardly anyone could make them do it. they just… decided to kiss each other's ~lips~ every time and they like it? all those thoughts amaze me and i don't have a heterosexual explanation for it (but maybe i am being biased 😁)
of course I don't know and I don't think I'll ever know what's really going on between them, but the whole history of their relationship, what they've gone through to be here when they can just kiss each other is amazing to me! It's so beautiful and I'm just happy that they let us see it too… the tenderness they have for each other? and it doesn't matter what it's called and whether they're together or not, the main thing is that they look so happy around each other 🥰 that's enough for me 💖💖💖

🦉Positivity owl reporting for duty! This was sent by a friend who wants you to smile as much as your posts make them smile. Please list five things that make you unique, four things you are super passionate about and why, OR three of your favorite memories. Feel free to send the owl to those who you feel deserve to smile🦉
Hi anon/positivity owl🩷
This is so sweet!! Thank you so much!🩷
I'm going for 4 things I'm super passionate about :))
1. Politics
I'm very interested in politics. I follow both national politics as international politics. I've made two or three presentations about Brexit. My Bachelor Thesis is also partly about Brexit (though more the jurisdictional side of it). I don't know why I'm so passionate about it besides the fact that it's just interested to know what's happening in the world. As I got older, politics just started to interest me more and more.
2. The Sims
I don't play the sims as much as I used to, mostly because of lack of time. But I've always loved the games and I have been playing it since I was a kid. As a kid I was obsessed with the sims 2. Then I played the sims 3 on my Nintendo (not recommended). And since I was a teen I'm playing the sims 4. I love it so much because I can use my creativity in it and build stories. It's also one of the only things I watch YouTube video's about.
3. Concerts
I don't go to too many concerts but they are my happy place. Honestly one of the only places where I can let myself go completely. Every concert is a memory I will never forget.
4. Writing
Gonna say writing for the last one because it's what I do the most in my free time. I haven't been writing as much as I did this year. It always has been one of my favorite things to do and I kind of have been doing it since I was like 12 or so. It's a fun thing to do and lets you forget about reality.

15 Questions, 15 Mutuals!
I was tagged by the sweet @captain-fflewddurfflam: thank you! 😊
Are you named after anyone? No! My mum and my brother found my name between the saints in the calendar because they had no idea what to call me, lol
When was the last time you cried? Do you know that I can't remember? I might have shed some tears while watching Koisenu Futari, but fortunately nothing has made me desperately cry in the last month.
Do you have kids? No, thank you.
Do you use sarcasm a lot? Not really? I use it sometimes, and I don't mind it, but it just doesn't come naturally with me, especially in written form and with people I don't really know very well.
What’s the first thing you notice about people? Probably people's mannerisms?
What’s your eye color? Green.
Scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings always.
Any special talents? Probably the fact that I have a good sense of direction.
Where were you born? In Italy.
What are your hobbies? I watch lots of shows (and these days Thai dramas are very easy to find on my watchlist because you can find those easily on youtube with subtitles and I am very lazy), I like to knit, listen to music, when I find the right moment I love to read, all usual things.
Do you have any pets? Nope.
What sports do you play/have played? No sports at all, but I would like to get back into yoga/stretching because I am getting old, but don't tell anyone.
How tall are you? Unfortunately not enough that I can see over everyone else at concerts. (Genuinely cannot remember the actual cm, sorry)
Favorite subject in school? I LOVED Art History, so definitely that one. For the rest, I also loved Music. History, and Philosophy (with the right professors). And also Literature! I enjoyed Maths and Chemistry in high school, too, because the professor was very good at explaining the formulas.
Dream job? Something that gives me enough economic stability to allow me to travel or pursue more hobbies. Otherwise, I have no idea in the specific. Oops!
Tagging (but you don't have to do this if you don't want to): @2minutes2midnight, @agentofship, @letmebeawesome, @andmethefivefooter, @clementinewhy, @genetic-lottery-unicorn, @apocalypticfluffy, @just-someoneaverage, @englishmagic, @belovefreeindeed, @majormedley, @impala67-aka-baby, @audible301, and my tag pals @not-the-face and @pollodigitale 🌻
Thank you for tagging me, again! This was fun :)

some random questions:
do you have a favourite scent?
do you prefer short ankle socks or crew socks?
what’s the last book you read?
what’s a book you really didn’t like?
do you prefer to sleep with white noise or silence?
do you have a favourite food?
who’s a band/artist you’ve liked for a long time? (you can define “long” however you want)
bonus round:
what’s philosophy school like? like what kinds of classes and assignments do you have and just your general thoughts on it
you are a BLESSING this is so fun!
favourite scent has gotta be either a freshly blown out candle or drying paint. yeah.
short ankle socks all the way!!! idk what it is but if socks are coming any further up my ankle than trainers socks do i am naauuut having it.
last book i read in full was radio silence...!!! while i was annotating it for my friend. currently rereading solitaire though :]
oooo... if i don't like a book, then i will never actually make myself read it, especially because i can have quite a hard time reading in the first place anyway, nevermind if it's something i'm not enjoying. so i don't know, actually. i can't even think of any books i read in school which i didn't like... they weren't THAT bad i suppose..!
definitely sleep in silence. i need complete silence and minimal light. not complete darkness, no, i'm actually scared of the dark. but at least like a lamp in the corner of the room or something. too bright and i can't sleep and too loud and i can't sleep. i actually am really picky about sleeping conditions and find it quite tough to fall asleep in places that aren't my bedroom T-T
my favourite food, at least for now, is definitely pasta. not any specific type or dish... just because it can be used for so many things and has so many different types that i feel like i could eat it everyday and never really complain.
bonus answer: garlic bread (i am a walking asexual stereotype, and proud of it)
well i can take the music artist question and half jokingly answer one direction really... ok they haven't been about for... almost a decade but i was in fact a directioner...!
as for right now, i've been a really big fan of the band lovejoy and have been for a long time, the same way that a lot of their fans have been around for a long time - the lead singer of the band is also a twitch streamer/youtuber...!!
i've been keeping up with his solo music before he formed lovejoy with his bandmates and its been amazing to see how not only the lead singer has grown with his music, but the band overall..!! they're very very cool and i really like their sound. they're awesome in concert too.
blehhh well i do philosophy (and religious studies too, actually! joint degree) at a UK university so.... really um. yeah.
it's not the most riveting experience ever. sure, it's pretty interesting but really you're just sitting watching a lecturer talk in front of a powerpoint a few times a week and then you're made to actually read all the other information by yourself. for way too long.
as someone who (as previously mentioned) sucks at reading for the most part... yeah...!! it's an experience.
it's not like i didn't expect it. the grades are based on a typical UK idea of half being essay and half being an exam, for the most part.
it's definitely an experience...!!! trust me, i am only doing this so that i can teach the subject (RMPS to be specific, meaning 'religious, moral, philosophical studies) at high schools. if i was doing this without a career choice in mind i would be going craaazy

Wretched Excess.... or not?
It is fun cruising the internoise. There are people who drive a Ferrari to work, if indeed work they do. The tiny percent people have money to spend and lots of help doing that.
I was baited into looking at a video from TAS about the old / new personality Michael Fremer. He is a recognized Guru for LPs and has a legitimately good reputation in professional recordings. He has movie music soundtracks and other cool stuff in his resume'. He also has a stupid expensive audio system.
I should also say it is very very good. But the expense cannot be overstated.
The video is a tour of his audio system. To be sure his main job is to review equipment and that entails a revolving door of hardware. But he does admit to owning a lot of 6 figure devices. Hey watch it and be amazed.
youtube
The word dumbfounded comes to mind. Holy Shit. Things like that.
There are some blogs and discussion boards that are amazed and actually hostile about this video. That is unfair. He has made lots of money and it is his business. If you got it flaunt it baby. For that even if I had a couple million to spend I would not get any of this stuff.
Fun thing is towards the end of this he does a party trick. This is what I really want to talk about here. He has a set of calibrated microphones that sit in your ears like earbuds. They turn his head into a legitimate binaural recording device. He assures us this is very accurate reflection of his experience. He played his system and sat in his chair. You can hear what he hears. I was on my headphones and it was impressive.
Now this was YouTube playing on my laptop, but it claims a High end (ya sure) sound card and has a funky music system logo embossed on the case. The earbuds were from my Iphone when they had a jack.
The music was clear and frankly impressive.
So much so I tracked down the artist and the album. Lori Lieberman a very good singer songwriter. Jazz and American songbook type music.
Fun fact my generation had two songs that perplexed and fascinated us. "American Pie" by Don Mclean, and "Killing Me Softly with his song" by Roberta Flack. Apparently Ms Lieberman went to a Don Mclean concert and was so moved she sketched out a poem on a napkin about it. That was shared with two others who helped write that song. It did not become a hit until R. Flack recorded it after hearing the original version while on a flight. Then those two partners tried to hide her contribution and even deny she was involved. Lawyers made money.
Explains why she quit the music business for a long time.
I listened to much of this album on Itunes in my car on the way home from work. I liked most of it. The song that Fremer played through his trick microphones was "Truly".
When I got home I fired up the franken-amp and the other stuff necessary for a couple hours to get it all warm and magically aligned. After dinner and home roasting a batch of coffee and a brutal aerobic workout I sat down to listen.
My goal was to listen to the same stuff that Fremer played on his six figure system on my four figure system with some consumer grade good stuff. I did this.
To be sure Iphone buds and my laptop are not SOTA. Fremer's system is about as SOTA as it can get. So the stuff I heard on my full size system was better. There was more clarity and I need another go to be sure but I heard deeper into the venue and arrangements and supporting musicians. Pretty damn good.
The album is available in all the fancy streaming formats and of course vinyl. I may buy it if I convince myself all the tracks are my cup of tea, or home roasted coffee.
Aside from everything else Fremer can pick high end albums like few others can.

Hi Puts!
I just wanted to gush my thoughts to you about Keiko's recent performances! I was really surprised by the recent Magia live as Keiko hadn't been this dramatic since her Kalafina days. Then I saw some footage of the YK Shanghai concert on VK and... she's actually just like how she used to! With all the energy, the dramatic and cheesy hand movements - everything!
Ever since she started her solo career, it seemed to me like Keiko never wanted to perform like she used to. Even her FictionJunction performances were boring stage-presence wise. It seems like recently she's finally felt like getting back into how she used to perform and honestly it made me really emotional. Watching Keiko having so much fun when performing with FictionJunction in Shanghai, she was really stealing the stage at it just felt like I was watching Kalafina again! A small part deep inside of me thought she somewhat resented Kalafina, but these latest performances has made me remember that she really just loves Yuki Kajiura's music probably more than anyone and I love that about her.
This isn't really an ask, I just wanted to gush!!!
Hi there!
Tumblr media
Another reply that's long overdue, I am so sorry!
Absolutely, Keiko's love for YK's music is certainly unparalleled. I'm sure she likes her solo stuff well enough but it's nothing compared to what she feels about YK's work. From what we know, Keiko very much appreciates contributing to something meaningful, having a purpose and knowing her place in the grand scale of things. Being part of the YK family achieves all of that. Her solo work on the other hand is not as structured or target-oriented so Keiko probably just views it as a bit of casual fun on the side.
As for Keiko's stage-presence in the past few years, I personally do not feel like Keiko's performances have ever been truly lacking in that particular department. Maybe some of her solo gigs are a bit stilted and awkward (which is to be expected I guess) but when it comes to FictionJunction performances, I still vividly remember being blown away by her enthusiasm at the YK Live in Taiwan back in 2019. And let's not even mention the most recent Budokan live XD That was on a whole new level of epicness.
I would say Keiko is the type of person who heavily feeds off of her fellow stage members. If she is alone on stage, there's no one to take cues from. However, if she performs with someone she feels comfortable with and who exudes passion, she will naturally let loose too. Another thing to consider is the fact that all the FJ performances we got to see in the past few years were official recordings for home video releases or online broadcasts. These tend to be a bit more toned down in general so Keiko will often fall back on a sort of "business-mode" for those.
Anyways, I am glad you are enjoying Keiko's performances. There's a lot to gush about indeed.
PS: I have really been enjoying your YouTube uploads as of late. The "LIVE Evolution" videos are so much fun to watch and truly fascinating. It must have taken forever to put all the footage together so thank you for that!

parisocial relationships & rebirth
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
damn guys it took me forever to process this post!1!!!!111!!!
pain!!!! but it's okay lets catch up.
as per usual i am merging all of my interests and somehow colliding them simultaneously. esthetician school has been good thankfully. im used to the trails and tribulations of capitalism and the beauty industry. me used to it lol. aside from that; i saw Frost Children for the third time in concert as well as atlgrandma and Dorian Electra for the second time. granted it was phenomenal as to be expected but the short lived conversation that i ended up having with Lulu and Angel was semi heart breaking. but i wont let my favorite artists becoming more mainstream affect my live for them again. i have learned to distance myself from expectations and unhealthy parisocial relationships and instead just continue to love people unconditionally. because people like frost children work so hard to make a name for themselves and their art and i will always deeply respect and appreciate that. i told Lulu that i had a very intense depressive episode recently and that their art got me out of that. they were a little startled to hear that (i should've expected that) but they were so kind as always reassuring me that they're happy that im doing better but that what they do isn't even all that serious. but thats the point. i love not taking life seriously. it makes life so much more fun and enjoyable not only for myself but for others as well. regardless i will always love Angel and Lulu. i will always respect the fact that they're such genuine and kind souls while also having fun and encouraging others to stick a middle finger up to the predictable.
i am blessed that i am somewhat out of that rut again. i just had to listen to those who love me. i love my friends more than anything. when i went to that show last night i went with my best friend Lex. i love her more than anything because she keeps me grounded and reminds me that my existence is important and valid. and that you can be a fan of artists such as JPEGMAFIA and remain to be queer as fuck. she's so fucking awesome and i will always appreciate that about her. she treasures me that aside from my traumas of narcissists i will never have the ill intent (hopefully) to end up like someone of that sorts.
i will never forgive thou that shall not be named for how they made me feel. cutting narcissists out of my life was one of the best decisions that i have ever made in my entire life. unfortunately not everyone appreciates and savors unconditional love. i wish i could love every being the same, but some people just refuse to let me in. that is their issues and nothing of my concern.
ive been watching a lot of Drew Monson's youtube videos. he reminds me of the people in my life that i love. and he basically saved my life. his quick witted humor and loveable personality keeps a warmth in my heart. when i was going through my episode, he understood me and helped me out of it through humor, love for pop culture, and overall relatable qualities that i find hard to find from others.
anyways. im going to take a break from chronically online to try to write a poem for my grandma. in conclusion. i will always love Dorian Electra, for reminding me that irony can be sexy and fantastic in queer artistry. that disappointment is okay, and that swaggery always oozes out of me as well as you. no matter how you choose to express it.
much love. 5 ever 👁‍🗨🙏🏻🕊 ~ princess xeon

My week
was pretty nice. I worked from the office but my work friend made it bearable. Wednesday's quiz night had to be held elsewhere because of a concert, but my work friend and I didn't know and entered the pub without even acknowledging the bouncer at the entrance, but he also ignored us lol. We had a nice evening. Thursday was the last office day, because we were so tired, and another coworker had like a nervous breakdown on the clock. Mainly she said she felt burnt out, I feel for her because she's such a positive and friendly person, but you can only give so much for a crappy job. But there were probably other personal reasons as well. Anyway, we agreed to wfh on Friday, and it was a really good idea. Because yesterday my work friend and I went to this party held by 2 of her friends (who were at her bday party and apparently liked my vibes a lot because they kept asking her about me and telling her to invite me to their place for a ~party. Which was soooo cute bc I loved hanging out with them and we had such a good time yesterday! The fatigue after a full day of commuting & working in an office would have prevented us from having any fun lmao.
Anyway, something odd happened at the party: my cw and I somehow ended up on the balcony looking at the moon and talking. And she once again tried confessing her feelings for me, telling me she likes me and subtly asking about my boyfriend. Lol I don't even get her when she does stuff like this! Like, what do you really expect from me? I don't get mad at her or anything, she was drunk and she has done stuff like this before while drunk. I know it's true, but she's better at hiding it while sober. It doesn't bother me because she's not disrespectful or crossing any boundaries or anything, they're just her feelings and as long as they're not interfering with our friendship I'm okay with knowing them. But when it happens, when she starts dancing around this topic again, it confuses me because I don't understand where she's going with it, what her intentions are, what the goal is. I don't get uncomfortable and it's not awkward, I just don't know what is expected of me.
The conversation floated in the air and vanished, and then she invited me to sleep over at her place because we were both kind of drunk and her flatmate went to a wedding. So we left the party not long afterwards, and stumbled to her apartment lol (she doesn't live far from the girls' house, whereas I would have had to make it to the other side of the city, and given that I got touched inappropriately on the street not long ago, she was reluctant to let me walk by myself at night, which I appreciate). Anyway, we sat on her balcony for a while, then went to bed. We woke up early and a bit hungover but not badly, then watched some Youtube vids in bed, and fell asleep again. Got up, ate, and then I went home. It was really beautiful outside today, but I didn't really go anywhere because I kind of wanted to be at home lol.
I'm excited to go home this week. I'm pretty sure the moon is going to be in Cancer, so that makes the reunion with my parents and the fact that I get to see and cozy up in their new house makes it even cuter. My bf might come to the city on Monday morning for a quick errand, so we'll get to see each other for a few hours, which is exciting and lovely, but I feel bad that he has to make so many trips for college and he can't even spend more time with me :( </3 But it's okay because he'll be here after his birthday too.
Speaking of, I was wondering what else to get him for his birthday, but I've also been thinking about getting my work friend something else to go with the hamster mug I got her a while ago. I'll probably go out tomorrow, I also have to look for some pants for myself, and perhaps a new journal.
This week I've been watching a Youtube girl who used to post videos about her mundane routine and stuff like that, and she was saying that she had started writing in her journal more often. She mentioned that she had a few year long gap in which she never wrote in her journal, and that period is now a blurry mess in her mind, and the exact same thing happened to me! Well, I can't say I don't remember anything from the years in which I *did* write but threw out my journals, but being able to reread past entries just helps me understand myself on a higher level. Like, the first 2ish pandemic years are like a black stain in my mind not just because of how abysmally depressing they were, but also because I barely ever wrote consistently in my journal. Sometimes I feel silly for having been such a pessimist and so paralyzed with fear and grief, but I'm sure it felt different to be then & there, in those times. Again, maybe having a written record of those years would have helped me understand my past self better. I do keep a journal now, but it's more of a "5 entries per year" type of situation rather than a consistent practice. Maybe I'm too stingy about notebooks lol.

Omg I love this
Reblogging instead of commenting so more people can see this if needed!
I tried to choose songs that capture almost a lot of what ghost is and their sounds!
I also chose a few from each album/EP
Songs I'd recommend for someone who's getting into ghost!
1. Ritual
An amazing song from the first album. Captures the more doom yet fun sound of ghost yet also having a few moments of scary growly voice. Has been performed at almost (if not all) concerts so far (No Music Video)
2. Con Clavi Con Dio
Another Song from the first album. A more harsher sounding song yet still absolutely amazing with more Growly parts. One of the songs with more audible backing/echoing vocals (No Music Video)
3. If You Have Ghosts
An absolutely amazing Cover from their first EP. Even Though it's not their original song I put it in because a lot of people reference it and their right. If you have Ghost you have everything (No Music Video)
4. Year Zero
A classic and an Icon from their second album. Worshipping lyrics and just a well known song from Ghost (performed at every Concert) (Music but not equivalent to the Lore, but be warned, You will get flashed its not as bad if you watch the censored version on youtube but You can still tell)
5. Monstrance Clock
A song from their second album that has a lot of what Ghost is. Whispers, Solos, Chanting, Worshipping, Beautiful Choir. Not performed in concerts often (it's been YEARS since last time unfortunately but still an amazing song even if I have to watch recordings of past concerts ✊) (No Music Video)
6. From the Pinnacle To The Pit
An Amazing song from their Third Album. Captures the "Scooby Doo" sound of ghost, the harsher sound and the lighter sound of ghost. Sometimes Performed Live At Certain Shows (Music Video)
7. Cirice
A classic Grammy Winning song from their Third Album. Amazing guitar, Heavier and Beautiful lyrics. I thought the name of this song was Circle for the longest time lol. Performed Every Concert. Music Video but not equivalent to the Lore
8. Square Hammer
Another Classic. From their Third Album, One of Ghosts most iconic and well known songs. Amazing guitar, amazing chorus, amazing everything. The lyrics from this song is the name of the movie (Right here right now / Rite Here Rite Now). Fun Fact: This song was originally made just because Tobais needed an opener song for the album and something that'd sound good live. Performed Every Concert. Music Video Lore Related
9. Mummy Dust
An amazing Song That captures a more Heavier sound of ghost with the growly vocals, Heavy Guitar and General Beat. Another Amazing Keyboard / Keytar Solo. Performed Every Concert usually with Golden Confetti and Sometimes Mummy Bucks (No Music Video)
9. Rats
An amazing song from their Fourth album. An introduction to Cardinal Copia. A fun and iconic song with an amazing music video of Cardinal Copia dancing and getting a horse
10. Faith
Not really a song where it's like OMG YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO GET THE LORE but it's my favorite so I'm adding it. An amazing and more heavier (they're heaviest song I think) song that's like a diss track to ex band members (that's a whole other story). No official Music Video but a Visual Lyric video (I think it's funny how the visualizer video is about lobotomys since it's basically a disstrack lmao)
11. Life Eternal
I love this song. A beautiful and definitely more sad and lighter song from their fourth album. No words or comments, I love it and have (and will again) cry to it. Not performed in concerts anymore. Music video has a bit of lore in it
12. Call Me Little Sunshine
A heavier (kinda) song from their Fifth album. Beautiful guitar and lyrics. Always performed in concert. Music video yes
13. Twenties
A different sounding song (my friend said it sounds like pirate music lmao) from their Fifth album. A song about empires and the rise of empires. Not performed in concerts (was performed at the LA shows/The movie shows)
14. Darkness at the heart of my love
No lore details I just love this song and the ending is my favorite. A beautiful song from their Fifth album
15. Respite on the Spitalfields
A beautiful song from their Fifth album. A song with a beautiful solo and choir. Again, I have cried and will continue to cry to this song. The song captures what impera is about and this final song is about the fall of empires (and Jack the ripper lol)
And that's it!
Here's a Spotify link of all the songs and a few more lol
Any lore or music questions just ask! I've been hyper fixating on Ghost lol
so i just started getting into ghost and could anyone recommend me some songs to start with because i am so confused

With An S/O That Loves Kpop
Au: Modern
Pairing(s): Xiao x Reader, Childe x Reader (No gender specified)
A/n; Aha so hello— :’) I know it’s been a while, but I honestly had to take a bit of a break from Genshin due to it not being as fun as if was for me, but there may be new updates here sometimes. Anyways, enjoy my new fixation - Mod Xiao
Tumblr media
He never understood your obsession with that genre of music, how you’d go out and “waste your hard-earned money and time on merchandise and albums from people who don’t even know you exist”, but that never stopped him from watch your spontaneous wills to get up do the choreography along to one of the songs
Now you wanted him to come with you to a concert? Yeah, no. He’s not going to sit stand in a crowd full of millions to watch people perform and— y/n, stop looking at him with those eyes- no means no- stop it- please-
When he sees disappointment flash in your eyes, he’s quick to clear his throat and push back his pride to ask when it was for, and the way your eyes light up when he asked was enough to make him want to fly you straight to South Korea and have you meet them personally
You end up giving him one of your sweatshirts with the group on it for him to blend in, it’s safe to say that you never got it back after that night
He won’t admit it but he actually enjoyed the concert, subconsciously doing a few of the hand movements to himself because of all the times he’s seen you do the choreo
His attention was fixated on you most of the time, the way you sang out to the lyrics you knew, beaming from ear to ear as you jumped up and down with the rest of the fans… You looked so adorable
On the drive home, you could hear him hum to some of the songs from last night, even putting a few on his personal playlist
“Xiao! They came out with a new comeback, wanna listen to it with me?” “Tch, I have no interest in them.”
He in fact did, and enjoyed himself more than he should have
Tumblr media
When he heard that you were into Kpop, he bought you so much official merch that you didn’t even have anymore room in your closet for the rest
Hell, he even bought you both lightsticks
He’s heard a few songs before but it hasn’t really stuck to him, but when he started dating you, he’d find himself constantly listening to the songs from the groups you liked (he also listens to them whenever he misses you)
Your screaming made his soul leave his body, immediately running over to your aid… But you just explain that your favorite group was coming to town
You don’t even have to ask him to come, he’s already buying you both the best row, all perks included, and even scheduled you both for a fansigning because he just can’t get enough of how excited you look
You both look so adorable in your matching outfits, lightsticks in hand as you both scream once the idol walk on stage! Singing out to the lyrics and ‘attempting’ to do the dances
He doesn’t think that he’s ever seen you so excited, there were practically stars in your eyes, so of course he had to get some pictures in
At the end, he played a few of their songs in the car as you fell asleep from such a long night
He definitely learned Ping Pong with you and posted the cover on YouTube, he’ll never get over how happy he’s able to make you feel this way
“We should learn Red Lights next!” “Ajax, no-“
With hard work and much dedication, you both were able to only learn the chorus, and even that was scuffed

Hello YSJ! I was at PTD Day 2 and while the concert was great, I left feeling doubtful about Jikook. All of the Jikook moments during the performance that everyone is cooing over felt like regular friendly interactions rather than “loud” moments (except the butt squeeze which I didn’t see due to being so short). I was hoping to see for myself their love since there’s no better “original content” than what you see with your own eyes, and I saw nothing but professional behavior. Thoughts?
Hi anon, WELL THIS IS LONGER THAN INTENDED OKAY I wasn't there live, but I did catch it via some very kind Friends of the People - well, mostly. I was super tired and also on some rather heavy meds. Also the streams weren't nearly as stable on Day Two. (If it helps I PAID FOR MY DAY FOUR 4K MULTIVIEW HYBE DON'T COME FOR ME) but I saw a number of things that made me coo and sigh and smile. So it might come down to what we saw and personal opinion, but...
Tumblr media
Two things: One, moments in real time are FAST. We don't get those sweet slowed-down edits set to Doja Cat grooves that I LOVE LOVE LOVE do not get me wrong, I watch them for fun and ... fun. They are also not reactor vids that go back and catch the same moment twice. Hell, they're not even Weverse translations. A lot gets lost in context onstage. and B., moments in real time are often overshadowed by LIGHTS and LOUD MUSIC and your eyes are literally EVERYWHERE. Rose Bowl, for example, was MUCH LOUDER on video and because it was caught on the big screens and it was long enough that the hyungs had all moved away before it was over - and it still was less than ten seconds long in total. Also, you're looking at stuff from a distance instead of the video and photo closeups we get later:

So if you're at the concert and you are enjoying yourself, as you should, you are probably missing as much as your eyes can catch and interpret just by the nature of the event. And as a hobbit I can empathize also with the short thing, I even lie to my own doctors about my height, they have stopped arguing with me and just adjust my BMI accordingly but WE ALL KNOW I CAN'T SEE SHIT WITHOUT PLATFORMS AND A BUDDY.

This is actually how I started watching edits - because I was missing so much in original content, even in performance video that focused on the guys. But after a few weeks and finding the youtubers I like and don't, (see me for recommendations), I made myself watch original content mainly for context. Korean is an incredibly contextual language - verbal and written translation alone is not nearly adequate to get it into English as it is meant to be. Even good translators have a hard time making it sound as it is intended. Physical moments are QUICK - a brush of a hand on an ass or a chest, or a missed bro bump because Koo was tryna BRIDAL CATCH HIS MAN is so rapid in real time that it is very blink-and-miss-it. But the guys are, in fact, AT WORK when they are onstage and this is something we like to forget. THEY WORKING BB. They damn well better look and act professional or they are gonna hear about it.

And right now there is the military question to contend with. If you are expecting kisses and declarations of love that is not going to happen, not in Vegas, not any time until and unless that is resolved in a manner favorable to a coming-out party. The Korean military does not look kindly upon faggotry of any stripe, not in the guise of fanservice, not in any way at all thank you. Not under the incoming administration - President Yoon is virulently homophobic and so are his cronies and that is not something the Taekookers are taking into account. But for me, I saw SO MANY LITTLE MOMENTS. But I'm not the Jeon-Parks' evangelist - I'm more of a... Jeon Park Roomba? IDK in my house the Roomba is named Dobby and we don't give it socks and sometimes Yoongi tries to ride it so I identify as a Roomba in this story. (Whatever that's my brain sorry) But I am sorry you didn't get to see this:

I guess basically we all see different things, and we can miss a lot in live shows. And if the offstage lives and content they give us combined with the professional, working moments we get from a staged concert (okay the ass grab was... not professional) wasn't enough to keep you thinking they're a couple, then I don't really have any advice for you. Maybe you just see a friendship. And that's okay.
The real question is, do you still love them? Still love BTS? Have a great concert experience? If the answer is "yes", that's all good. :)
