I'm sad so here's some music headcanons for Destiny 2 characters, assuming music remained intact since the pre-Golden Age:
- Cayde: ofc I'm starting with him. I feel like he'd listen to a bit of everything to be honest (I'm projecting so hard rn), but most of the content of his playlists would be "european childhood" songs (idk what else to call them), 80's music and white girl music. My boy would absolutely kill it at an ABBA karaoke night. He knows every single move to the Just Dance Rasputin dance (he learnt when he was a human, but don't tell him that. He likes to think he came up with it), which only fueled Andal's jokes about him being Rasputin (the warmind, not the dude). Oh and he listens to Hozier when he's Feeling™.
- Eris: my favorite goth. However, i feel like she'd mainly go for the loud stuff, to drown The Voices™. Real loud. Like, Deep Purple loud. Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath are on the list as well, she likes to vary. As for the goth, perhaps some Nine Inch Nails. The Cure, definitely. She really likes how russian songs sound. Saint thinks she's weird.
- Ikora: other than the occasional heavy metal music sesh with her gf (she specifically enjoys Metallica), she's really into lofi. I know, i know. Polar opposites. But she's stressed, ok? She also wouldn't say no to some bedroom pop/alternative/indie. I can picture her listening to Rex Orange County.
- Zavala: Zuzuvela! Classical music, who would've guessed. A bit cliche, i know, but hear me out. I like to think man's learned to play the piano when living with Safiyah, and used to play Für Elise for her. He still plays it now when he's feeling down. Are you crying yet? I am. Anyways, we all know he listens to Shaxx's tapes as well.
- Amanda: everything about her screams rap to me. But like, all rap. From Eminem to Tupac to Nicki Minaj to Kendrick Lamar. Imma throw Tyler, The Creator and Childish Gambino in as well because that's my personal Holy Trinity. Kendrick, Gambino and Tyler. In that order, iykwim.
- Crow: now this guy, he's the definition of "a bit of everything". Hozier. Soooo much Hozier in this guy's wrapped. If you look closely you might spot some Will Wood and Mitski. Oh and, ofc, the queens as well: Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Britney Spears, etc. Now that i think about it, he would make a great Y2K girl, but that's between me and God.
I ran out of colors so that's it! Please tell me if i should make more i have so many of these (i will probably make more regardless). Also please tell me if i got any genres and/or artists wrong, I did do some research but you never know <3

Tep Tons: Albums
10. The Break of Dawn (Blue In Green) Smooth all the way through, this is full of music to just kinda vibe to, similarly to what you'd find hosted by Lofi Girl. Along with much of Gramatik's early work, it's the album that helped fuel my initial interest in the hip-hop style, especially with jazz elements. Here's a taste!
9. This Time (Los Lobos) I don't often listen to rock, but it's actually what I grew up with. At the center was AC/DC, Smash Mouth, and Linkin Park. In the periphery and having at most a single album I'd listen to, were Crossfade, 3 Doors Down, Finger Eleven, and Los Lobos. This Time sticks out as being not emo edgy and full of cringe-worthy self-pity. It's got energy, variety, and good vibes all around. Here's a taste!
8. Small Plates (J3PO) Short and sweet, this is one of those sketch albums, filled with some of the many snippets thought up and created by the artist. I love the existence of albums like this, as some of the real banger ideas that never get a full produced song can see the light of day while the artist is still alive, Small Plates (and Sweet Treats) having some of my favorites by J3PO. Here's a taste!
7. Fantastic (Slum Village) I couldn't pick one of the volumes, so I'm going with all of them lol. I love the wonky Dilla-time, as anyone who's seen my music recommendations would know. I love the unfinished feel of Vol. 1 with a bunch of really bumpin' beats that unfortunately never made it past this point, and I love that they revisited and polished a bunch of them and for Vol. 2, then there's the further edited version of 2, complete with hilarious and heartfelt testimonials at the end of some of the tracks. Here's a Taste!
6. Funk Blaster EP (KOAN Sound) While there's no one album that incapsulates my dubstep phase, this one was definitely the most prominent. It's funky, wubby, and well-composed. I'll admit I am "that guy" when it comes to KOAN Sound, I liked them better during their early experimental days, until Polychrome when they made a habit of putting 2 different songs in 1 track. Honorable mention to Risky Endeavors Here's a taste!
6.5. Planet Neutral (Getter)
5. Things Fall Apart (The Roots) One of the newest additions, The Roots has become one of my favorite bands ever. Through and through, this is but one of the masterpieces created in the Soulquarians sessions at Electric Lady Studio, filled with banger after banger. Honorable mention to the Deluxe Edition, featuring some of my favorite Roots songs ever. Here's a taste!
4. Astro Lounge (Smash Mouth) Yes I know, it's the one with All Star. Like I said, Smash Mouth was one of my favorite bands growing up, and Astro Lounge just has a special place in my heart. The title I think sums it up best, feels like you're in a cozy futuristic lounge, or at least the idea of futuristic people had in the late 90's. Here's a taste!
3. Random Album Title (Deadmau5) Another one I'm nostalgic for, this is the ultimate vibe album for me. The somewhat droning and repetitive nature of it, plus the seamless mix between songs, gives it a video game soundtrack quality in that it's great for just putting on in the background while you're doing stuff. Unfortunately Spotify is being weird and there's like 3 slightly different versions of it with the same name. Here's a taste!
2. Plastic Beach (Gorillaz) Aright it's another nostalgic one, this I think is the first physical CD I ever bought. I love the metaphorically nautical/maritime theme, and as per usual with the Gorillaz, there's a great variety in musical styles. Plus there's a kickass music video for Stylo. Here's a taste!
1. Djesse (Jacob Collier) I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, Jacob Collier is the greatest musical mind of our time. This album has such a profound effect on me I can't fully describe. Whenever I sit to listen to any part of it, it feels like a hug that gives you the warm shivers, it tickles my ears, and almost always I well up. Djesse is the work of a man who thoroughly explores the depths of music and sound, travels the world to learn, combines it all in unique ways, and all the while exuding this infectious energy and curiosity. Here's a taste!

Shaking your hand in fellow glamrock chica supporter. As much as I love the boys chica has charmed me
youtube
Ironically, My spotify playlist got to this song when I got this ask.
(also this video fueled my obsession with chica and is entirely the reason how she's characterized like she is in Lofi. I have so many thoughts about her I'm surprised I just haven't written a yn x glamrock chica story at this point but I already have like three fics in process heoaghahf)

I don't do tag games because I'm the worst, and since I never have time, or right mood, or both, and in this fuckingoodammitcursed time of the year even less than ever, I postpone until six months have passed and it's too late 😂 Also, I'm the most boring person so it's better if I keep the mystery around….
Anyway, I feel called out because, let's see... @chaosrising451 @stephmcx @mayberrycryptid tagged me so, here it is.
3 Ships: alright, this is easy, even if the ship grows on me only after I watched the show and not the opposite, probably I'm some sort of demi-ship-sexual. So it's Steve McGarrett/Daniel Williams aka McDanno (Hawai'i Five-0), Helen Magnus/Nikola Tesla aka Teslen (Sanctuary), Aziraphale/Crowley (Good Omens).
First Ever Ship: of this I'm sure. I was 7 years old, Saint Seiya was airing for the first time in Italy, and I decided Hyoga and Shun were a perfect match for each other. Friendship-wise and romantic-wise, even if I couldn't care less. But the resuscitation scene is famous not for nothing. I didn't even know I was shipping them but I did 😂
Last Song: uh, so, I'm in a really BAD spot right now, so I'm not listening to music. Just some endless playlist of rainy coffee shop with bossa nova piano ambience stuff, to shut the world outside. Or lofi. Lofi is always a safe haven.
Last Movie: honestly? Too many years ago to remember. I'm not big on movies, I cannot watch tv in peace and after 8 hours drawing maps on pc for work I surely won't turn mine on. Probably it was my 56th rerun of LOTR trilogy, ten years ago.
Currently Reading: a book I purchased years ago and never read, like always. Compulsory shopping, especially if I find used books. It's If Cats Disappeared from the World by Genki Kawamura. It's a bit disappointing so far, some banality about the important things of life, but since I can only read while commuting and I'm having difficulties getting back to my usual standard of a book per week like before I started university 8 years ago, if it's not some essay or handbook or textbook, it's ok for now. Anyway I just finished reading the marvelous essay by Rifkin, Hydrogen Economy, which I purchased exactly 20 years ago and which predicted exactly what would become of our fossil fuel economy today.
Currently Watching: eh, same as before. They were airing again the Italian dub of H50 during pre-dinner time so I tried to catch up, but now it's stopped at s3 finale to air something else, so nothing specific.
Currently Consuming: just finished dinner, consisting of broth soup, breaded fish, salad and fruit :)
Currently Craving: .....let's skip this, it's just too sad.
Not tagging anyone, but feel free to spread and maybe join!

14.03.23 day 12
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Didn't post anything the past few days. My social life caught me in a whirlwind and threw my mental peace out in pieces. Extravagant language but I didn't know how else to put it. Those were tumultuous days.
We all have goals, our own ambitions and dreams and sadly enough, sometimes it's our dear valuable relationships that hold us back. I'm not speaking for all relationships. Human connection is one of the most central things in our life that bring us meaning. But people who must be preparing for competitive exams (esp my Indian kinspeople) know how families and friends can sometimes pressurise us with obligations. The emotional stress of relationships during these times can be fuel in fire. It drains us and sometimes breaks our will.
People who have been in the Civil service exam journey know the struggles and the sacrifices. And I'm sure everyone else with demanding careers know too. JEE, NEET, CAT, MCAT and the like.
My heartfelt message to all of you folks, please reach out and do not neglect your mental health. This is a long journey and a sympathetic ear can bring you incredible support. You are not alone and you will get through this!
P. S. Resumed my studying again from today. By the way, all lofi compilations are not built equal. Today's one was perfect.

❀ Pansy n°5 = Reality ? No, thanks…
When life feels too bland, one’s mind can do wonders to escape it.
It may seem unreal or fake to some people, but for some minds the easiest way to cope with a negative or stressful emotional state is to dive into one’s subconscious and imagination. The reason why is pretty simple. You are free to control everything and everyone in your own head. You are able to picture and make up every landscape, every environment with anyone you would want to be with.
You are free to give yourself a dream life while escaping the difficult truth of reality.
This “ability” can be considered a skill available to anyone willing to expand and develop their imagination. Personally, I have always considered myself to be quite creative and full of imagination, so being able to increase my capability of imagining things has been awfully thrilling through the years. My mind has always been triggered by music. Easily imagining or making up epic battles on action like songs, dance routines on classical music or simply fake scenarios on chill lofi beats.
I have so many different fake lives, it’s concerning… :/
But it is such a cathartic experience to insert yourself in your favorite universes, with your favorite characters. What’s even better is when you are so into your mind that you can feel things. With time, it happens to me more and more.
Sometimes the smell of freshly baked bread, but mostly the feeling of a warm embrace or lips softly brushing against one another…
That might be why I often have lucid dreams or why I believe in shifting. But those are pansies for another time.
Nevertheless, this dream-like ability can become dangerous to a certain extent. In fact, when the fake scenarios become an obsession, when day-dreaming becomes a daily occurrence, all in all, when all of it becomes too important… Then it becomes a problem. Then it is unhealthy.
Why does this amazing experience have to be so toxic ?
It is a way to cope, to feel good, to relieve stress - for once without the use of anything illegal 👀- but sadly it also disinterests you from reality. Some people can end up resenting even more their real life.
Come to think of it, that’s how addictions work, no ?
I am no one to tell you what to do if you relate to what I’m writing, neither am I judging anyone. Too often do I feel detached from reality because of my will to live in fantasies. It is something I want to work on - most of my pansies are about myself, my thoughts and based on my will to evolve.
So once again, I am no one to judge.
I am someone so obsessed with daydreaming that, when I am feeling down, it literally plagues my days. I only think about when I’ll have alone time to listen to music and continue the scenario where I left off. Or when I’ll be able to read self-insert fanfictions to drown even more in this shameful obsession of the unreal.
All of it fueled by the fear of reality and the tiredness of living.
Too often do I think I would like to eternally dream.
And that’s because I am conscious it has become this unhealthy obsession that I want to work on. I know that on the one hand, I like to make up scenarios because I would like to experience other environments/universes with other people. But on the other hand, I realized it is also because I can be whoever I want to be.
So lately - being in a good mindset - I am on a quest to better myself, to let myself discover who I am, who I want to be and most importantly to let myself take time to heal.
I know this won't be easy, that I won’t drastically stop to escape reality. But now I also know that to make this creative ability healthy, I have to try and find or even make a dream out of reality.

Discover Sick Samurai: The Ultimate Adrenaline-Fueled Slasher
Tumblr media
Sick Samurai fast and bloody slasher action game is due to evolve onto Linux and Mac with Windows PC. Thanks to recent details from the creative talents of developer Solideo. Due to make its way onto Steam in 2025. Solideo is eager to announce their next title, Sick Samurai — an adrenaline-fueled, slasher action that’s all about speed, precision, and non-stop action. Imagine the fast-paced, one hit kill action of Hotline Miami, but with a samurai. While adding in some major retro anime vibes. If you’re a fan of Samurai Champloo or Cowboy Bebop, this is going to feel like a blast from the past. Due to offer its own fresh, stylish spin. And the soundtrack? It’s loaded with lofi beats that mix hip hop, jazz, soul, and funk. All ready to keep that energy flowing as you carve your way through enemies. And, there are even plans for a Sick Samurai native port.
The game is being developed in Unity, so I'm hoping that towards the end of development both a Mac and a Linux version will be as simple as building for those platforms. And getting some users to test that it all works as intended.
It was great to hear from Solideo. They’re upfront about their plans for Linux support, which is expected about a year from now. Makes total sense to take the time needed. But honestly, I can’t wait to get my hands on a native test build.
Sick Samurai - Official Announcement Trailer
youtube
In Sick Samurai, each level is hand-crafted to give you more than one way to tackle it. You’ll have multiple paths to explore and different strategies to try out. So you can really play it your way. There’s also a solid upgrade system where you can pick up items and power-ups along the way. Due to let you fine-tune your playstyle. But don’t expect easy gameplay — this game throws you right into the deep end. Instant-death combat means you’ll die a lot, but the game lets you jump right back in to retry a level. Repetition is part of the challenge here; the dash and slash mechanic is fast and deadly. So you’ll need to master the timing, plan your moves, and keep those reflexes sharp.
The Setting
Sick Samurai takes place on Furikyu, a fictional island that’s a unique blend of Edo-period Japan with touches of 20th-century urban America. You play as a young fighter determined to become the best warrior on the island. To do that, he seeks out Genyu, an ex-samurai with a bit of a rough past, hoping to train under him. Together, they set off on a mission to challenge the four big-shot samurai who run the island. Each with their own turf and combat style. It’s a deadly journey, and every fight will push you to step up your skills. Another nice touch is that Sick Samurai has fully voice-acted dialogue. While offering choices that let you influence your relationships with the characters you meet. So, it’s not just about slashing through enemies; there’s a story element too. And you get to shape how it unfolds. Sick Samurai fast and bloody slasher action is due to release on Linux and Mac with Windows PC. Doing so through Steam in Q4 2025. Therefore keep an eye out if you’re ready for some intense, lofi-fueled samurai slasher action that’s as stylish as it is brutal.

ADHD and focusing
So, here's some strategies that have helped me:
Music - different genres act as a queue to my brain for different tasks and help get me in the mood for them. Like Lofi Hip Hop for homework and rock for house chores.
Nature - being outside or bringing some of it inside (sun lamp and plants) or just mentally connecting with nature like pictures and nature sounds really boosts my mood and focus from nothing to doing a complete 180°! I guess nature helps me to feel awake, alive and simultaneously relaxed.
Breaks - I like to set a 30 min timer and pick a task from a list and just do that one thing then I can stop for a bit and take a break. This close together start, stop, start, stop pattern may seem unproductive but it helps. Also, "break" time doesn't mean sit and do nothing. I have a list like take a walk, groom the dogs, dishes, laundry, sewing, baking...they can be necessary or just for fun (no screen time allowed) but the change in stimulation and different executive functioning required helps me to balance myself by not putting too much time and energy into one thing for hours and helps me be more mindful of my current energy levels and what I can do with what I have, not what I can't.
Positive association - helps to make the thing fun and enticing. Like in dog training, I make something not fun like nail trimming with lots of treats. For me, it looks more like finding how the task relates, even in some convoluted way, to a special interest. Or have something related to a special interest present whenever I do that task like a soundtrack playing or a plushie, who ONLY gets to sit with me when I do that task, no other time (increases higher value to that thing by increasing its rarity).
Clothing - Wearing light clothing makes me feel more free to move around and especially going barefoot (of course this is at home). I think going barefoot provides a certain sensory experience that makes me want to be on my feet, up and doing things and not sitting down not doing what I need to. Like when I vacuum, the carpet feels nice and warm.
Exercise - Yoga has been proven to help people with ADHD, it's moving around mindfully and focuses on being aware of your body and surroundings. Also, if I need some motivation, getting up and dancing is a fun way to energize me and get some endorphins going. I particularly like eisa, it's dance that's like a combination of karate and Japanese taiko drumming. I don't have a drum, so I just clap. The poses in yoga and eisa help me feel strong and confident, like I can do anything.
Food - the brain and body need fuel to do things, so, do your best to stick to eating a rainbow of fruits, veggies and leafy greens everyday and do your best to stay away from processed foods. I promise you, a simple diet change can work miracles!
Fidgets - they're fun, we all love them! And can be anything that's fun to stim with like a pen, hoodie string, or sticky notes. My favorites are pop it balls.
Screen time - please try and keep scrolling on your phone to a minimum. The quick easy dopamine rush can make your brain hooked and make your brain's production of dopamine become dysregulated, which it typically already is in ADHD, so, I think we're particularly susceptible to phone addiction.
Mini tasks - doing something small and attainable is a good way to boost my confidence in being able to do other things and gets me in a "working mood." Often times, this looks like tidying my room a little because an organized environment can help me focus as well.
