i talked a loooot about my thoughts on here immediately after i watched the movie but i saw a post about bad cult horror (lol) and it got me thinking about it agaun (cause its bad cult horror).

and like. it has these really good elements but such poor overall execution . i LOVE horror that plays with the viewer and the characters' perception of reality (within the story). i like that the twist was that it was the kids who were in the wrong and not their poor fucking traumatized stepmother who was trying her best. the visuals were gorgeous! i loved so much of the imagery but it had absolutely no narrative significance because it seems absolutely no thought was put into the movie.

the plot reads like a first draft and it killls me because if it was rewritten and touched up and properly developed it could have been so good!
