This time last year I made a list of all the things 2018 was for, and looking back, exactly zero of those things came to fruition. Whoops. Instead I: stayed out of the hospital + gained twenty pounds (#fuckcrohns), danced on a stage in front of hundreds of people for the first time in 10 years, designed a light dep that can be pulled from a wheelchair, taught incredible groups of women from all over the world about a plant I love, published an e-course (that y’all actually signed up for! thanks for that!), brought my favorite people to my favorite places, survived 13 days without electricity, watched a body heal despite being told it never would, gave in to the notion of fungi ruling the universe, and watched my mom defy a stage-4 cancer diagnosis (with a second cancer-free scan!). — As for 2019? DESPERATE TIMES CALL FOR DESPERATE MEASURES. . . I could probably kick this shit if I set aside a few days to ingest nothing but Cannabis + green protein drinks and cuddle with puppies, but unfortunately there's no time for that; and at this point I'm going through full batches of meds in a day. . . Insert canna-coconut oil pulling. Roughly 1tsp THC + 1tsp CBN. If you're not a fan of oil pulling to begin with (me) knowing that this will potentially make you feel better does NOT make it any more enjoyable. Really, I only made it 2.5 minutes in before I choked while trying to tell my dog to sit with a mouthful. BUT it did numb the pain enough to get some work done this morning so I guess this might be a thing to try again. . . P.S. #fuckcrohns

What happens to your skin when you have Crohn's?

Skin involvement or cutaneous Crohn Disease occurs in about 40% of people with Crohn Disease. Some are mild skin conditions and others are extremely painful and dangerous.

Things such as skin tags, purple sores and swelling around the perineal and perianal region are common.

More serious things like, painful vulval or scrotal fissures, ulceration and pyoderma gangrenosum, which are large open sores on your legs and sometimes other areas of your body, need medical assistance immediately.

If you see any abnormality on your skin after being diagnosed with Crohn's, no matter how small it may be, make an apt with your doctor ASAP.
