Sometimes i cant tell if im too sensitive or the total drama fandom is toxic as fuck
Like, i forgot about this blog for a whole week and when i came back i feel like im getting called heterophobic for not liking coderra but liking toxic yaoi/yuri??? (just a dramatized example like the others below)
Then feeling the need to clarify that im not mysoginistic for having a nice and not an asshole male character as a fav and not the toxic, villian woman that has a really deep lore that explains why is she like that? Or getting called lesbophobic for headcanonizing a masc woman as a butch lesbian?
And then going to a post of my favorite ship and keep seeing "this is a proship!" because one is a gen1 and the other from gen2? or even worse. im tired of seeing those "this ships sucks! X is better!" like stfu
Sorry for the rant but i legit feel like the total drama fandom needs to chill a bit and stop caring so much about other's opinions or what they do as long as it isn't harmful

as a bisexual person it’s laughable and embarrassing how viv stans would hype up helluva boss and hazbin hotel for having good bi characters even though is actually straight up ass
Charlie never mentions she dated a guy in the past and her first relationship is literally with a woman which explains why so many people forgets she’s bi and gets mad when people draws her with a guy
Moxxie being bi feel like a last minute decision like Viv could of bring that up back in season one but nooo let’s have a wattpad level episode where him and his wife dated the same guy for lazy drama
and last we have loona which this shit is honestly funny but apparently loona was originally straight but this year Vivzepop decided to make her bi like wowww we could of got that in the show but instead it got revealed in the pride parade art😐😑
I swear her bisexual and lesbian characters has to be weirdly censored yet her gay and pan characters can scream“I LOVE SUCKING DICK” every 5 seconds in the show
And then when we rightfully complain about it, the Dickrider Fans tell us HOW to feel.
Also the Moxxie plot sounds ripped from a fucking Gacha Life movie.
As I pointed out before, the only people that are treated as in the right when they are in the wrong and held accountable are people apart of our community.
Being apart of the LGBTQ+ Community isn't a get out of jail free card.
Anon, just once, I got told in a different post on how we "Queer People" complain about Angel Dust when they are telling this to a SA Survivor, Trans Masc Gay Male.
Low blow.
But anyways, you'd be glad to hear that in the rewrite I am working on, Blitz is improved on, Stolas is a villian, and Husk, is well, Demisexual, I feel its better for Husk to be so (He's also married at the beginning of the Rewrite, so we do get lore for why Husk is married.)

I've been trying to do some inner self talk recently over my queerness because there's things I want and sometimes the things I want feel like they get villianized within the queer community because of how dog eat dog it tends to be for some reason and I've decided to say fuck it.
I don't care and I am going to allow myself to want what I want.
I like men. I like all men. Trans men, cis men, masc nonbinary- literally anything to do with men, I like.
I have a hard time admitting that because I do like woman, but I tend to like woman on a more intellectual or platonic basis while still falling into a romantic place (like, having a woman as a partner, but not in a sexual way).
It's also hard for me to admit that as a Afab person who is genderfluid and feels more masc than fem, because afabs in the queer community are already attacked for faking their queerness or just using gay people as some fetish or something and it fucking sucks to see anyone with my preferences labeled as fake or predatory somehow.
I'm attracted to men because I like them. I myself am genderfluid and often times, more often than not, identify in a masculine way.
I do not look masc and I probably wont ever physically transition in any meaningful way because I don't feel that desire and sometimes I feel like that alone makes it ten million times harder for me to allow myself to seek out relationships that might be queer.
Like, I would date gay men because I too, am sometimes a gay man. If they are okay with a vagina and still like me as a man, or as a genderfluid person, then I want to date that man.
I know this is rambly but I just need to get it out. I hate feeling cut off from my own community because of how I express my own gender and how I desire people romantically or sexually and it fucking sucks to feel that way.

The Bold Type is treating us so well (Part 2):
That’s the problem. That’s how bad representation is. We settle for bad representation because your queer take what you can get. We are constantly told not to be TOO gay. We are told that our love can’t be shown on cable tv. That our love is a reason to demonetize videos on YouTube that say the word: lesbian, gay, trans etc. Then they have the audacity to show anti-gay ads into front of queer creators videos and it’s the creators responsibility to remove the ads from their channel. How fucked up is that. What does that say to baby queers? That being queer is bad and they should be punished. Queer people are constantly villainized and made into villains. Because to the media we are evil. They portray queer people as so miserable and lonely and depressed. Like being queer is the worst thing that could happen to you instead of the best. Baby queers think that’s how their life is going to be which is horrible. We get such toxic and unhealthy relationships but you know your queer you get what we give you. That’s so poisoning to baby queers because they go into relationships thinking that’s how they should be. They put themselves into dangerous situations because media gave them that image. Queer people are constantly being killed off. Like Queer people have to die just so they can boost their ratings. Then we also have the portrayal of queer women is always feminine lipsticks and never androgynous or masculine queer women because let’s be honest lesbians are around to interest the men watching. And those men want fem lezzies. And with queer men they are always so sassy and fashionable and feminine. That’s not all queer men. They can be very masculine. It feels like they think even in same sex relationships there has to be a fem one and a masc one. We need better representation. We need queer people, gay, lesbian, bi, pan, trans, non-binary, and asexuals (they do exist you know). I dream that one day there will be hundreds of tv shows with queer characters. That we no longer have to deal with queerbaiting and shitty shows with a queer couple that gets no screen time. We deserve better. We deserve to be on screen and we deserve to not be erased or villianized. We need this for the baby queers who feel like there is no hope? That being queer means they will always be that token gay guy or that flannel lezzie. That being represented correctly means they are valid and loved. That they can be sexy and still be queer. That queer women weren’t designed to interest the men. All I want is equality. For every straight kiss give me a queer one. Without the Bold Type I would still be in the closet and still be a lost little girl who hated herself because the world showed her that being queer is something to be ashamed of. TBT showed me it’s fine to be queer. Kiss who u want it’s no big deal. Your friends will stay your friends and nothing will change. You can have a healthy queer relationship and still be the same person you were before. You can have it all family, love, career, friends, and a home. The Bold Type is amazing and never been so grateful for a show before. PLEASE SHARE CAUSE I THINK THIS DISCUSSION IS IMPORTANT!!

BNHA Cannon Trans Peeps (Masc,Fem, and NB)
(Warning, this is actually not as happy of a situation as we’d like it to be)
Please note, this is a mild critique of the presentation of transgender people in BNHA, but do know that I do not believe this was done with malicious intent. Do I think it’s offensive to not just some but many? Yes. Do I think it’s inherently wrong what has been done? No. Do I think there could have been better methods to portray these peeps? Fuck yeah I do.
I think that BNHA may have actually depicted far more complex gender identities then most would dare to attempt, even at the risk (and definitively achieving) offensive status. Unfortunately this’ll probably happen a lot more, especially as we become more aware of lesser-represented populations and attempt to make them feel visible.
TW Warnings: Canon trans-death, possible fetishization, possible caricature. Images are used.
So I just found out one of my favorite characters is actually a trans dude, and I’m super hype because honestly when I saw him I made a joke that he was my transition goals. However, I recognize many fellow trans men might feel extremely uncomfortable. Apparently he transitioned in Thailand though??? I wish there was page numbers available to read the direct quotes around it. This dude and and the gender-neutral/androgynous/nonbinary character 13 is super fucking awesome to me, however I came to find that Magne, the villian who is super masculine and generally gross looking, is actually an untransitioned (and even probably closeted) trans woman.
Magne’s article was super triggering to read, and seems to have literally been a victim of vandalism shortly before I wrote this (masc pronouns were used at the top of the article but not the bottom, but refreshing it showed femmine pronouns throughout) Although in theory the concept of a trans villain isn’t really a bad thing (especially with two trans heroes who are extremely powerful), her design is very problematic as well as the fact she’s the only trans woman visible so far, and majority of transphobia affects transwomen the worst.
Plus, Magne’s design is INCREDIBLY ugly looking (namely due to the facial hair and lip design, as well as over exaggerated features on the face during close shots.). This could be a method to show how trans-femmine peeps may over compensate masculinity while in the closet, but may not. Either way, Magne’s death now comes as a far more triggering thing for me, as seeing her never being able to transition hits me in the guts. Most trans dudes might not like Tiger’s design due to his feminine outfit, but he’s still a generally attractive guy and I personally hope to one day mimic his fashion sense. 13 on the other hand has a generally awesome design, and does not depict their assigned gender or internal presentation of their costume avoiding any assumptions. .
All in all, I still love this show and manga, but I’m very conflicted about this. I think Horikoshi did not have inherriently malicious intents, but I still feel extremely uncomfrotable with this. Maybe this was a design choice to avoid the usual Trap! transphobic cliche, as well as to depict an completely untransitioned trans person in a way to avoid people purposefully uglying her up for transphobic arguments. Maybe this was a way to depict a closeted trans person? Maybe? Maybe not.
Honestly, from what little I can find out about Horikoshi, I wonder if they might actually be LGBT theirself, since I can’t even find any definitive gender descriptions of them (the only one I found was from a site that previously purposefully misgendered a trans-femmine singer, so I do not trust it).
All in all, if these facts give you something positive, awesome! Use this to feel represented, supported, or etc. If this makes you uncomfortable, then use that feeling to explain (in a reasonable, non dickish way) that this was not what you wanted but you could see how others would still enjoy it, while also requesting your own idea of representation.
Unfortunately, we’re not going to ever really get perfect representation, and having more complicated situations of gender being depicted in short fashions can also get a bit sketchy, but we must try to take the little wins with great stride and use each lose to better describe what each of us individually would personally prefer.

Sadly I absolutely have seen 'trans men are preying on lesbians by forcing them to be straight' mostly coming from the 'trans mascs can't be lesbians' crowd, ignoring the HUGE amount of overlap between trans mascs, dykes, studs, and butches. "Trans men are forcing straight women to be lesbians" is less spoken about but definitely a problem brought up often by cis, straight men who feel threatened by the existence of trans guys as competition within the same dating pool. I've also been around long enough that I absolutely have seen 'lesbians are predatory and stealing/tricking pure innocent straight girls' and especially so when it comes to butch/stud/dyke attraction to femme counterparts. So it exists, but it is older reductive gay discourse that the current generation has only heard echos of.
Sadly this is where the constant, nonstop, relentless invisibility comes into play- only those who are old enough to have been paying attention at the time, or who were taught by those old enough, are the ones that remember this and know how to spot it in current discourse. Now that I've pointed it out, you'll likely start seeing it everywhere. Just like how when a butch friend pointed out that female villians in the 90s and early 2000s were heavily butch-coded or trans woman-coded (often labeled drag queens) I started seeing it in many of my childhood favorites.
Honestly I don't think any trans person regardless of their relationship with gender ever gets a break. I identify as gay and am very blunt about my attraction to masculinity itself, yet I've had both trans and cis men as partners as well as a trans neutral partner (and one partner who turned out to be a she/her gay guy who is still cis) and yet I constantly get flack about being a fujoshi and being a straight girl with a fetish. But I've dated, kissed, fucked people with vaginas before and would again if one comes along that wants to be with me. But then in a mlm t4t relationship it's 'straight girls acting out their fantasies with each other' and that just makes no fucking sense but I've literally witnessed people saying it.
We're always considered predatory, we're always considered to be sneaky and evil while at the same time lacking autonomy and any amount of ability to make our own decisions.
ayo! i was wondering if u could help me out with a conversation my friend and i were having about transandrophobia?? she was saying that it’s a redundant term because the oppression of transmascs is explained by transmisogyny, and ideas like transmascs are mutilating their bodies/stealing lesbians/just delusional little girls are just regular transphobic things that all trans people experience… and like. somewhat yes. but imo there’s a difference, for example, between “all trans people are delusional” and “transmascs are just confused little girls deluding themselves into thinking they can escape biology”. and i know it’s similar to/mirrors the things people say about transfems, but i don’t see how it’s just transmisogyny when the term is only ever used to talk about the experiences of transfems? and was coined specifically for transfems? anyway, i’m having a hard time putting my reasoning into words, so if u have any ideas for how to counter what she’s saying, i’d really appreciate it!
Sure! I can only really give you my own explanations of the arguments you're describing, but I do wanna say I think you have the right idea here, too.
"The oppression of transmascs is explained by transmisogyny"
So, yes and no: "transmisogyny" on a purely technical level could be argued to just mean "transphobia" + "misogyny", and because transmascs are not actually seen as men (though in many ways we are also not seen as women), we do in fact experience misogyny- and oftentimes that misogyny does come packaged with transphobia.
However, "transmisogyny" was coined by transfems, for transfems, with the intention of describing specifically the type of transphobia that transfems face; which is also informed by misogyny, but in different ways. It can therefore be pretty accurately deconstructed as "trans" + "misogyny", or, "trans" + "women" + [bigotry].
Trying to shoehorn transmascs into the word takes away from that meaning, makes specific discussions of transmisogyny harder, and erases unique transmasc experiences as well. It's trying to replace "transphobia" with "transmisogyny", which is redundant. Why do we need two words for the same thing? We made these words for a reason.
"Ideas like transmascs are mutilating their bodies/stealing lesbians/just delusional little girls are just regular transphobic things that all trans people experience"
"Trans people are mutilating their bodies" is more often levied against transmascs than transfems.
This specific panic of transmascs "mutilating" ourselves stems from the belief that AFAB bodies are obligated to reproduce and be sexually appealing + available. Transmasc transition can altogether remove our ability to get pregnant, and our transitions are seen as making us ugly/undesirable- mostly to straight cis men.
This same rhetoric does not apply to transfems.
"Trans people are stealing gays" is definitely not levied against transfems.
The specific line of rhetoric about "stealing lesbians" comes from:
The radical feminist belief that lesbians are The Most Victims, an Endangered Species Which Must Be Protected- which in turn stems from the misogynistic idea of (white) women as victims/damsels in distress.
The belief that transmascs only transition to "gain male privilege" or "escape misogyny", which feeds into the radical feminist idea of transmascs as Betrayers Of Womanhood.
In combination, transmascs are seen as "stealing lesbians" because we are both betraying and seducing women, and "depleting" the lesbian population and therefore further endangering Lesbians as A Species. (Because even radfems can't help but see lesbians as objects.)
The closest common transfem equivalent would be "transfems are preying on/tricking gay men", which has tones of predatory behavior and sexual deceit that are unique to transmisogyny. Transfems aren't seen as "converting" straight men, but rather "tricking" them into "gay" sex. Because men are viewed as having more autonomy, the "tricked" men in this scenario are given more agency than "stolen" women.
"Trans people are just delusional" is, again, more often levied against transmascs than transfems; specifically because transmascs are seen as lacking in autonomy and agency- while transfems are seen as autonomous and therefore dangerous/deceitful.
Transmascs are "delusional" because we can't possibly know what we really feel, can't make decisions for ourselves, can't think for ourselves or make plans- we aren't tricking people, we honestly believe this silly idea that we're men. We're all little girls, autistic and depressed girls, stupid women who don't know what's best for us and can't be trusted with autonomy. We have to let others make choices for us. (Until, of course, it becomes clear that we're "too far gone", at which point we become The Enemy.)
Transfems are "deceitful" because they know exactly what they're doing, and can only be doing it for nefarious reasons. They're dangerous, they want to hurt and trick people, they want to invade women's spaces to take advantage of them, trick straight men to take advantage of them, satiate their Sexually Aggressive Nature, etc. They have autonomy already- they must be stopped to protect others.
TL;DR:
There is a lot of overlap in trans experiences and trans oppression- that's why the word "transphobia" covers all of this as an umbrella term. But "transmisogyny" and "transandrophobia" exist under that umbrella, as forms of transphobia, in order to describe more specific and unique experiences that aren't the same for every trans person.
Trying to mash it all together makes it harder to talk about the specific issues we face and why we face them, which we need to do in order to solve these problems.
Trying to remove one word in favor of another both makes it harder for one group to talk about their issues, and in many cases dilutes the meaning of the other group's unique term. Not to mention it denies those unique experiences happen at all.

oh okay
while yeah, theyre both veterans of mutliple major server wars and also war criminals, tommyinnit has been villianized to hell and back by specific sects of the fandom (and also dsmp characters), while tubbo has been given the "uwu little bean" treatment.
both characters are a lot more complex and cooler than the bland paper thin boxes people like to shove them into. tommy, who is known mostly for his facade of being loud, tough, strong, etc, cares a shitton about his friends, about new people, and even about people that not only hate him or conaider him an enemy but villianize him. a lot of his motivation has been one for all: he gave up the discs, he losts his first two lives, he agreed to being exiled from new lmanburg, all to make sure others were say, tubbo was safe, lmanburg could exist, he took all of the blame for burning down goerges house even though ranboo burned it down with him!!
and then with tubbo a lot of people are all "ooh hes short ooh hes cute ooh wholesome bees wholesome" but like!! tubbo is a strategist, hes said and done fucked up shit, he rebuilt and then built two nations, he has nukes, the list goes on, but yknow what he gets? he gets reduced to being a cute little kid (hes almost 18!! fuck off!!), a victim, a lot of his own power and autonomy gets reduced or stripped away in favor of him being an "uwu small bean" (which like, as a trans masc that was here a couple year back when the internet decided to do just that with trans masc folks, that pisses me the fuck off!!).
like i know that cuts into irl and less into rp stuff but the point is tommy isnt the overly egotistical, loud mouth villian a lot of yall want to paint him as and tubbo isnt a powerless 'cute bean' side kick of tommys OR ranboos.
read the gods damn wikis
constantly thinking about the fact that tommyinnit and tubbo_ are technically war veterans several times over and yet if tommyinnit ever got a veteran discount at nikis bakery -unprompted by himself, yall would probably call him a valor steal bastard.
and if tubbo_ got tried for war crimes yall would probably be in total denial and say something like "but hes uwu bee boi!!!"
no i will not elaborate further
#tommyinnit#dream smp#mcyt#ranboo#tubbo#tubbo_#you will drink respect cc's and c!'s juice and you will like it#all i know is respect cc's have character analysis skills and channel ranboos clingy duo apologist energy#long post
