i would like to issue a(nother) formal complaint to shein. as you are aware it has already fucked up the market for new clothes and furthered our descent into the hell that is fast fashion. this is known. but now? its vile secretions have begun invading my beloved thrift stores? how’m I s’posed to pop some tags when every time I’m huntin and I spot a potentially horrifically amazing garish pattern hidden amongst the racks it turns out to be but a cheap and ill-fitting scrap of cloth? I’m here lookin for a come up, not a thin clingy badly-dyed affront to the human form. this abomination is not your granddad’s clothes. get thee gone from my beautiful realm of well-made and well-loved clothes, horrid shein. you have no place with us.

today my sister was talking about shein, and putting aside the mental gymnastics she puts herself through to be able to sleep at night buying that stuff and the conversation about that part

i said even if you put that aside, it’s cheap garbage that won’t last

to which she stood up and gestured to her shirt (which honestly did look super cheap and flimsy), and she just says, “Shein.”

I'm so sick of seeing Shein clothes on Vinted. The site is SATURATED like most of the clothes I see on there now are Shein. I refuse to buy Shein clothes, even second hand, and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I see a cute shirt on my funky sustainable second hand site and then look down and see its Shein. I can't even explain the disgust. So done with this.
