trump is pissing me off right now with his old “abortion should be up to the states” agenda

like okay your excuse is the tenth amendment (which claims that “the powers not delegated to the united states by the constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people”)

but the people who wrote that tenth amendment were all men. they are called the founding fathers for a reason. they can’t get pregnant, they weren’t even thinking about abortion; it wasn’t even a legalized or accessible thing back then.

trump claims hes tryna "make america great again" but all hes doing is just alienating a large number of this country (the afab women) by only appeasing to a certain group.

what about the rape victims? the teenage girls who were drugged at parties? the innocent children harassed by male family members and school administrators? the adult women getting assaulted at work? what about them? what about the girls who aren’t ready to be mothers, the girls who died in childbirth? what about them?

it could’ve been prevented. it could’ve been stopped.

Sorry to get political (in this sense) but read on.

Abortions.

I have been doing some brain searching. I am pro-choice with a heart, but what my actual views on abortion is what I am trying to figure out.

I believe in the safety and health of the person with the pregnancy. The child is a clump of cells. It is not breathing, it cannot eat on its own. Those are two things needed for something to be living. Going on a biological standpoint, it is not living until it is born.

From a medical and biological standpoint, (sorry if this doesn’t make sense) everything is living. So, those cells are alive. But, they aren’t thinking.

So, to boil it down to the deciding factor on abortions, personally, is the thought of why and how.

Why would someone want an abortion? It’s plain and simple yet complex. Many can’t afford a child, people criticize these people for saying this because they think they see a child as an inconvenience and see this child as a burden. Which, a child can be, in some sense. Not like a burden that is horrible, but as in a burden that you need to take care for. I think some people need to realize, children cost money and are expensive. Going onto another point of why someone would want an abortion, r@pe. For one, don’t deny this person a medical treatment. Second of all, they are probably a child, knowing how sick some men are. They can’t take care of a child. Also the fact some people can’t safely have a child. Some doctors recommend it because the child won’t come out ‘correctly’, as in a life or death case scenario. As in the fetus doesn’t have a skull and won’t live past birth. Only harming the birth giver more.

And to the how. I know this may not make a lot of sense, but, to my understanding, nobody just wakes up one day and wants an abortion. That is the main downfall of the “pro-life” movement. They group people with uteruses and who have abortions, not by want but by necessity, with murderers. That is sick. Murderers are sick. People who have abortions are simply wanting to stay alive in a world, where uteruses are seen as lesser. That’s the main flaw in their argument, thinking that all people who can have abortions are murderers, as if they had some plot to kill the baby from the start.

Also, do you see people who have abortions force everyone to? No, they don’t. It takes guts to have one. I am not saying everyone is going to feel guilty about getting one, it is their feelings. There is a better way around abortion rather than seeing it as birth control, which is better sex education. That’s right, conservatives, you actually have to teach people about sex.

And to the arguments against abortion, which I have mentioned above.

“You are killing the baby.” The only ever argument I see. What are they killing? I see this through a biological standpoint, this thing is a clump of cells. That is if done with an early abortion. Later abortions, personally, should be done only if necessary. These cells, are going near the line between abiotic to biotic. If you wanted an abortion, you should have done it earlier.

That is my argument against.

To all the pro-lifers:

I see you saying ‘pro-life’ as a way to control a woman’s body. I say ‘woman’, because usually pro-lifers are people who see only two genders and no-one can transition. They think only woman can have uteruses and shouldn’t use this ‘power’ to kill whatever ‘human’ is actually inside.

For the pro-choice people who will only keep their own babies because of your beliefs:

I thank you. I thank you for knowing what is best for you and not deciding it is best for everyone else.

To sum it up and the key points made:

1. Abortion is Healthcare (said now if not made abundantly clear earlier)

2. People who have abortions don’t wake up and think ‘let’s get an abortion’

3. Not said above, but if you don’t support abortion, make the adoption system better. Give paid paternal leave and maternal leave to everyone. Make baby care more affordable. Also maybe stop discriminating when it comes to woman who aren’t white having babies. :) (also a silent f*** you)

4. Pro-choice is basic respect. Just because you wouldn’t personally choose (key word) to have an abortion doesn’t mean that someone doesn’t need that to live.

5. Also, if not understood earlier by the argument against section (which isn’t that good, oops), the difference between pro-lifers calling people who have pregnancies woman, and me actually just taking the time to type out ‘people who have pregnancies’, is that I am an ally. Regular gender roles and identities at what I am trying to break free from here. Also trying to break free from them in my thinking of ‘man and woman’, when, in reality, gender is a rainbow. ;)

Just a reminder to be nice and, if you don’t understand what any of this means to society and don’t understand the man vs bear question, read The Handmaid’s Tale. Do some Googling. Maybe just respect that not everyone has the same beliefs.
