It's remarkable—to other people, it might have been horrific, barbaric even, to watch something that was alive start to change rapidly in its death throes, but Adonis feels a spark of progress, as if there's a question he hadn't thought to ask, answered in a split second as Ezra starts to mutate the fauna. He had expected that he'd be mauled when he entered, but the quickness of the events were a marvel to behold. Adonis starts to take down notes, transcribing what he sees. "Subject has laid hands on fauna sample FM4-M311 and is leaching—transferring corruption into its skin through force of will. It's—" A haggard screech, a haunting noise comes from the creature's throat as it continues, starting to mutate it haphazardly, with a skewed body and a seizing corpus. "Additional vestigial appendages are beginning to form, as well as further—growths? Boils? Autopsy will be required, and the vitals are all over the place." He tries to catch Ezra's eye as he does this, the small tint of glee in his expression, an explicit okay. Keep going—right up until you feel better.

"you just want me to have at it and see what happens?" but of course he does. adonis is a scientist with more expensive taste than rats. he reaches out to touch the creature, quickly clamping down and sinking his influence into it. the dark veins in his body seem to coalesce through his arm and directly into it, ezra straining with the effort it takes to keep pushing through. he's not killing it, not directly—he's taking a page from the infection's own book and mutating it. except, um... maybe it will kill it if he keeps going like this.

Staying up late to help your boyfriend study game analytics seems like a good idea three hours ago when your eyes weren’t burning.

It was the best idea, when you’d been bright eyed and had just had your third cup of coffee for the afternoon.

Now, your eyes are bleary and you can’t stop fighting back yawns and you don’t think you can hear the words, ‘formation’, ‘back line’ or ‘forward press’ anymore.

James doesn’t seem to notice, too busy scribbling on the pages in front of him and adjusting the images on his tablet.

Some of his other teammates are on a call with him so they’re all adding their thoughts, but now you just really want your bed.

“Jamie?” You murmur, not having the brain power for much more than whispered words.

“Yeah angel?” His tongue is poking out the corner of his lip as he readjusts something on the screen before looking at you.

James finds your glasses slightly askew on your face, your eyes a little on the bloodshot side, and your pyjamas (his old sweater and a pair of shorts) all wrinkled from you leaning the the table.

You look just about ready to pass out on yourself.

“Oh angel,” he coos, scooting back in his chair and patting his thigh. “Ve’been keeping you up, haven’t I?”

You stand slowly, peeking over the top of his tablet to check that his camera was off before climbing into his lap.

You hadn’t bothered to check that his mic was off and are met with coos coming from the speakers. “Potter are you not taking care of our good luck charm?” Sirius teases as you cuddle into James’ chest.

James presses a kiss to your neck as you shuffle until you find the best spot.

“He’s taking care of me just fine, Siri. Are you taking care of Remus?” You ask, a teasing tone to your voice but James knows anxiety is riddling your tease.

You might be a little more open with him and his friends, but you’re still a very delicate, shy thing at the end of the day.

“Yeah. How are you treating your boyfriend?” James pipes and you’re grateful to have Sirius’ attention diverted as another series of yawns wrack your body.

“Ten more minutes, angel. Then we’ll get all cozy in bed, yeah?” You nod, eyes closing as you listen to the rhythmic ‘lub dub’ of James’ heart.

You’re almost asleep when James coos, “Poor girl,” you feel him take off your specs and open your eyes. “We’re going to bed m’heart.”

James is sure you’re blushing, even in your sleepy state.

unsettling was a bit of an understatement judging by her own feelings and the ones of those around her. mel supposed they were all making theories though, comparing different fae to one another and debating on whether or not they could have been responsible. but that was all they had, theories and rumors running rampant.

"something tells me the solution will not be as easy as that." otherwise they'd all have been out immediately considering they'd all been gathered together for a time before being released and subsequently finding themselves trapped in a larger cage.

"i wonder if whoever is behind this finds this amusing or is wanting to frighten people," she mused before realizing what she'd said. "not that i'm frightened, obviously." admitting something like that could be detrimental to her own lesser reputation as well as that of her family and their strength even by those in her own court.

the general knew, that she should likely have kept her emotions more in check but her temper had never been a secret and whilst she had improved more than she ever thought possible as she had grown, siri was but a mere illyrian and she simply couldn't help it if sometimes that side of her won.

it was also likely not wise of her to point hands, she knew that but she couldn't help but wonder when everyone else was looking outwardly for the problem, who was making sure they kept an eye on who was trapped inside there with them. "isn't it just." she nodded, a huff leaving her with enough force she blew the black strands of hair from her face.

"just a show of power? no i don't think so, emilios is far to clever for that and ambrose has barely been a high lord long enough to risk anything for the sake of show boating, i just...something feels unsettling about it, i'd find the nearest daemati and getting answers."

About his size, I try to keep the proportions and size difference Brad and Toby have in canon Euphoria. Since Brad's a tall human, he's also a tall giant, standing about 45 meters (around 145 ft tall yay math). Yeah, he's pretty tall and in his puberty years so not done growing!

I haven't ever thought about bandits specifically but heck yeah that'd make for an awesome angst scenario. He's not only crazy strong but also has all the advantages his infection gave him.
