Silly Game Time: Who are some of your favorite tech-oriented characters? And what do you like about them?

The technology they're good with can be very real-world based or complete fiction; it can be digital or mechanical (a hacker or a machinist), electric or nuclear or solar or petroleum or clockwork or steampunk or magic or use futuristic power sources.

They can be of any race/species from any genre of any media (books, movies, shows, games, etc.), too. What matters is that one of their primary skills, roles in the story, and traits as a character is being good with the story's available level of technology.

Donatello.

I built this blog on the tmnt fandom, it would be wrong of me not to say Donatello.

Also, he’s just neat. especially rise. I like the impossible tech (but o also really like it when the tech is explained) I also like how he has hobbies and interests outside of technology (like dancing)

I like all Donnie’s tho- I think they’re neat.

“Grandmother is visiting,” Damian suddenly said with no warning and with his usual not-quite demanding tone. 

“Who?” Tim wasn’t the only one to startle, seeing as Bruce had practically froze, a downturn to his lips in a silent show of confusion. 

Damian scowled. “Are you deaf Drake? Grandmother is coming to Gotham to, quote, make sure I am being properly cared for.” None of them had known that Ras was with anyone actually. At least Tim was pretty sure that would have been in the files. 

“Oh?” Dick didn’t quite crouch to Damian’s height but it was a near thing. “She-” “He,” Damian corrected, interrupting him. They all exchanged a glance before Dick continued. 

“Is he coming to the Manor or…” 

Damian scoffed again, a tiny bit of a flush against his face. “No, Grandmother will most likely be staying with Akhi-”

Now wait one moment-

“YOU HAVE ANOTHER BROTHER?!”

Stop acting like Talia hates Ra’s or that Ra’s doesn’t care about Talia. Their relationship is EXTREMELY complex and they both love each other.

Ra’s is the definition of a loving but cold father because he thinks it’s what benefits his child. He’s equivalent to the parent who throws their child into too many extra curricular activities and pushes them for good grades and perfection because he wants them to have a good future. It’s not right, yes, but it’s human. It’s just exaggerated because of the nature of comics.

Talia has worked against her father multiple times, and ideally would stay doing so, but she still understands her father’s perspective and why he does what he does. She agrees with his cause, she doesn’t agree with his methods. And despite that, she still comes back when he’s in danger because she loves him. Talia was able to resist her sister’s brainwashing when she was ordered to kill him because of her love and loyalty to him.

Talia knows her father’s not a good man, but she can’t help but love him because it really wasn’t all bad (early Ra’s was very much a single girl dad trying to make his princess happy by setting up dates with the weird bat freak she’s into) and she understands why he is how he is and she knows he loves her. Their relationship isn’t healthy, but it is loving and that’s an extremely important aspect, because without that love, Talia would be a completely different person and Ra’s would have little interest in Bruce in the first place.

The best part about improving is going back and drawing things how you originally imagined it looking. You can see the vision but I didn’t have the technical skill to execute it back then..

Now Danny would openly admit, if only to himself, that he had a type when it came to relationships. If they were strong, if they were a threat to him, then chances were he would develop some sort of crush. It was how he had dated Sam and Valerie (And Johnny & Kitty) when he was a bit younger, and hell, Sam had technically succeeded in killing him, even if partly. 

Attraction towards smart people who could kill him was honestly par for the course for a Fenton or Nightingale anyway. 

And he’d also admit he enjoyed a bit of time travel, learning about times and culture long before his time, to the point that he could blend in in ancient times just as easily as the time he had been born in. That it was natural to mutter in a language lost to time. 

So color him surprise when another man perks up in the bar he had paused to get a drink in, vibrant green eyes gleaming in interest and responds in turn. And not just in the language, but able to keep up when he talks about things that once existed but haven’t been rediscovered yet. 

And one thing led to the other, and there might have been some assassins and some shenanigans that end with them both laughing together in an inn and then more and- Okay he has a type alright, and he’s ticking each box! How is that fair?

I’m sure Entrapta was devastated when she realized that she really had been left behind by her supposed friends. And that they wouldn’t be coming back. This certainly led to sleepless nights for her. Hordak, on the other hand, seems to have his own reasons for not being able to sleep... but in the end, their reasons don’t seem very different to me.

so hey yk how in literally the 4th episode of the show there's that bit where adora's like glimmer I don't think your mom likes me and glimmer's like what are you talking about my mom loves you! and then adora corrects her and says that she loves she-ra, not adora.

and do you ever think about how there's always been some sort of expectation on adora like expectation to be a good loyal horde soldier, expectation to be force captain and lead the horde to victory one day and it just segues into the expectation to become she-ra and become a paragon of goodness and strength and all.

and how adora's self-worth is actually genuinely fucking shit because she feels that she's under so much pressure from everyone around her to always be the best version of herself and how she's supposed to always be perfect and do everything perfectly and she's never allowed to make mistakes because then she could disappoint the people that rely on her. but she always feels like she's disappointing everyone and that she never does anything right and that her best will never suffice.

just like adora feeling that she herself is not good enough, will never be good enough, but maybe she-ra will; she-ra is supposed to be good enough and is supposed to be perfect, so that's what adora will be if it will make those around her happy.
