aventurine: "alright, alright. i'll be sure to bring back your favorite drink at the café, too. is there anything else you'd like?" he sets off for multiple different places to buy your favorite food and snacks, but he doesn't forget about the pads/tampons.

jing yuan: "i'll be back, but don't fall asleep without me." he departs to the store but eventually returns with the things you've asked for, but he also went ahead and bought a giant plushie for you to feel better, as well as a new blanket for the both of you to nap on.

I'm thinking about the "Ford performing an incredibly botched top surgery on Stan" again because I'm a sucker for self surgery even though I know nothing about actual surgeries. It got me wondering how plausible it is, with Ford swiping a scalpel from school's biology lab that they used to dissect frogs or something. The anesthesia being just getting Stan black out drunk. All done on a water bed (cuz it's easier to clean up) with a extremely rudimentary liposuction machine that Ford built himself. Ford trying so fucking hard to steel himself as if he's not about to perform surgery on Stan when all the knowledge he had was from an anatomy textbook that he borrowed from the library, all while doing it in a hardly sterile room. It's a miracle that Stan didn't die from septic shock

I really love this headcanon of ford thinking he can do even more than he is able too, he was a teen with an unbridled ego product of growing up with clear favoritism due to his achievements by his teachers and his father, stanford was told to be a genius but in a teenager mind having a thought so deep into his brain could lead to an dangerous ambition by wanting to prove he was that genius people said he was or even beyond that..

So, when he heard his brother complain from time to time about how uncomfortable the bandages he used to bind his chest were, he immediately thought that he could be able to help his dear brother problem. He has read various medical magazines and human biology books, Performing a surgery to Stanley at home didn't sound like something really difficult so he promised him he would do it! And even if stan wasn't really sure if it was a good idea in his deep down, Ford seemed so confident about that and well, it was his brother, he knew better than him and wouldn't make anything bad to him so he finally accepted to continued with the procedure.

He borrow some things from his dissection practices, towels from the kitchen, the first aid kit from the pawn shop, the gloves mom used to clean the dishes along with the disinfectant products to clean the scalpel and finally a bottle of fine wine from the collection his father kept in his office as an homemade anesthesia (only thing i would change is that i dont think they would own a water bed more when at the time they were such a new and expensive thing for a middle class family lol so i do think their surgery room would be the bathtub one day while his parents where out of home lol)

Ford prepared the bathtub along the utensils trying to get them as sterilized as possible while also reviewing once again the anatomy book he brought as a guide while Stan drank the bottle of wine to the bottom till get black out. When Stan was finally unconscious ford was ready to start with the surgery...

In order to perform a medical procedure you must have studies and a degree in it. Ford learned it while he was calling 911 almost crying of fear while trying to stop the hemorrhage from Stan's chest that along with the mix of alcohol in his body was getting worsened with every minute it passed. Luckily for both of them stan didn't die but he did end up in the hospital for a few weeks with their parents very angry with stan because they thought he had done it to himself while Ford was incredibly regretful for almost killing his brother to prove a point to himself. Good thing? The top surgery was a success! Well, i mean Stan now had a ugly big scar all over his chest and was being medicated for the not-so-unexpected infection he ended up with, but at least he could go out without a shirt now!! and that's got Ford being forgiven by stan lol

He is a Yapper and Your The listener and usually he always Yaps about his students and the lessons he teaches(Math obviously), Things he admires from his students and things he DESPISE

He actually is a Gentleman surprisingly... Like the usual opening of doors, helping you in anything like chores, work or paying for the bills

His love language is "Gift Giving" by leaving it at your front door which are really random gifts from him which are either a new notebook for you to use for anything, a picture frame of you both or a can of your favorite drink or food

Although in some cases whenever you two go out on a date he would pay for the bill and if you try paying it he already did after booking the place

But if your the one who book the place he will not eat and just watch you eat because he rather be the one paying for his and your food than you so it's better if you pay your own food without him buying anything for himself which works and now you have to no choice but to let him book for any food related dates and let him pay

His an early bird although ever since he met you he waits for you to wake up so he just stays there and cuddle with you until you wake up

some more detailed thoughts about Venom: The Last Dance

spoilers ahead

Two theories about why we didn't get Toxin from Pat Mulligan even though it was teased at the end of Let There Be Carnage:

First, more likely, the writers just didn't see a way to write Toxin into the script and needed a way out of the corner they painted themselves into.

OR, they wanted to leave one more symbiote "out in the wild" since the others all ended up contained at Roswell, perhaps for use as a future villain, plot, or cameo somewhere. So they split up Toxin and Mulligan without confirming that Toxin died somehow, so they can use him again

(it's also possible that the actor's contract ran out, so they needed to kill off Mulligan in some way but didn't want to get rid of Toxin entirely)

On that note. Green is FUCKING COOL and I love the way they take shape. The serpentine, almost underwater way that they move is beautiful, and really brings us something unique compared to the other, more strictly-humanoid symbiotes we've seen. Wish we could've seen some more long-term things from them

I do love all the other symbiotes they brought in, and how we see both comic symbiotes like Lasher and Agony and a few new ones like Green and Twin

I've seen people theorizing that the tan-colored symbiote is Phage, but it's really not?? That one was like a symbiote-Sandman almost, it was tan with big clublike fists, while Phage is bright orange and has spurs along its back and shoulders. It's okay for it to be a new symbiote, guys. Not everything has to be one-to-one from the comics, especially if they're all gonna get wood-chipped in the end

LOVE that we got Agony, and I especially liked the tie-in with the lightning strike and her reaching out to Sadie like she did her brother

Lasher was probably my favorite of the additional symbiotes, I wish they didn't get wood-chipped. I'm glad Sadie survived but I would've liked to see a more long-term bond from them

The xenophages' design is badass, I love the way they move and the CGI rendering is absolutely amazing. They are VERY cool!

Was not as much a fan of how much they obliterated the new symbiotes, I know that's the point and that they're meant as symbiote hunters but it hurt my soul to see so many new and interesting characters just mutilated over the course of ten minutes. The big fight scene was so cool but I wish more of those characters could come back again rather than being killed off so suddenly

I do think Venom will come back. I know everyone's going to say that, but they set up the "viral shedding" way at the beginning and put it in one of those containment tubes... and then Teddy grabbed the tubes

(plus, even if Teddy ONLY grabbed the Agony tube, we do see the cracked-open tube with the cockroach during the post-credits scene. my theory is that the new Venom will bond with the cockroach, scuttle himself along to the bar guy and bond with him, then get his ass to New York somehow)

now for some non-symbiote related thoughts lol

LOVED the opening scene. I think it's going to be a divisive one because of how much verbal exposition there is, but to me it feels like those first two pages of a comic book before the title splash, where we get those full pages with the yellow exposition boxes to outline the story.

The fight scenes were super fucking cool across the board. Again, very comic book. They're using the symbiotes in a lot of new and inventive ways - the first fight that's mostly tendrils, the river fight where Venom jumps from a fish to a frog to Eddie, all of the new symbiotes we see and how they mesh together to hold off the xenophage. It feels like they give us something new with each Venom movie, and that's something I really appreciate. It's not all scratch-and-bite, there's a lot of creativity there!

I don't know if the casting director did this intentionally, but they've definitely blocked out the theories that Venom and TASM exist in the same universe - either that, or Curt Connors and Martin Moon are just freakishly identical in this universe (both played by Rhys Ivans), which I suppose is a possibility

All in all, very curious to see if they decide to go anywhere else with these movies, give us more of Agony and Knull and see if Venom will in fact come back, or if they'll really just leave things here for now. Either way, I respect it. I think they've set up a lot of neat things with this one and would be intrigued by more, but I also definitely respect the decision to leave things here instead of dragging out the series past its dues.

Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call!! I actually discovered ordering the game from the UK with shipping was actually cheaper than ordering the American version of the game, there were no major differences that I could tell as they still had the original English voice actors.

I enjoyed this game!! Not my top favorite installment but I still had a great time and loved the new characters. The puzzles were well designed and had nice scaled difficulty and the mini games were really neat too. The Eternal Diva references were so blatant lmfao but I’m excited for Miracle Mask! I was also super exhausted when writing the summary so sorry there’s so many errors and I use the word fun a million times ToT

Summary

This was such a fun origin story for Luke and Layton. Very much a classic Layton game with world ending machinery and gorgeous environment design. I really liked both Emmy and Descole, there’s a more serious undertone than with Don Paolo as the main villain (even though I do love Don Paolo). Emmy is amazing!! I was afraid she would be sidelined like Flora was but I’m glad to she stands her ground and does what she wants to do. I alos like how we got to go on our own adventure as her to London, she’s a character that doesn’t need to rely on Hershel to solve everything. Meeting Luke was great, loved his blank stare. It was fun seeing his origins and how Clark and Hershel knew each other. I’m curious how the prequels will play into the New World of Steam, especially now that Luke’s family have stories and sprites (unlike in the original trilogy). Loved the ACAB story, v nice to play while I’m still so mad at what’s happening to university students currently. Descole was so fun, I am obsessed with his outfit and personality. Unfortunately I was spoiled on who he is but I’m very excited to learn more. I think similar to Ace Attorney, the fourth installment is that last game in the classic 2D style, which is sad but PLvsPW makes me very hopeful about 3D Layton. The overall story was fun, I really liked the sub plot about the Ravens - that was really fun (i was so tired writing this omfg). I wish we got a little more backstory on the rich guy who died, I feel like there’s more to the story. OO I loved the little episodes, especially the one about Chelmey. They added a lot of fun context and gave more life to the NPCs. Such a fun and classic Layton game, I can’t wait to play Miracle Mask! (And read the light novels). This wasn’t my favorite Layton game but I still really loved it and had a great time and loved the puzzles — that’s all I want from PL!

Everyday there os a book on your porch, the doorbell camera doesn’t show anyone leaving it though. The titles all together reveal a secret message.

You keep getting letters written in code. P.S. it’s a vampire who’s is madly in love with you and is getting upset that you aren’t returning their letters.

Cats everywhere. All the cats in town seem to all hang out around your house. All the black cats that is.

A witch turns you into a frog, someone kisses you to turn you back into a human but now your in a different human body. Where you just reborn?

Dead birds keep showing up on your lawn and you thought it was the stray cats in the area doing it. You haven’t seen the stray cats in months now that you think about it.

You have nightmares every time you sleep next to your new partner. Horrible nightmares about them.

Your partners apartment is extremely hunted, every time you go over something scary happens but your partners never seems to notice.

A motorcycle drives by every night at 3pm, you hear it, it’s loud, but you never see it.

You get these emails, one everyday, it only contains one letter. combined they spell something.

Something had been hurting in your chest, your ribs to be exact. After much complaining to the doctor your able to get some tests done, the X-ray shows a key in between your ribs.

Your an artist, no matter what medium you try you can only ever seem to paint, sculpt, draw, etc… the same person. A stranger you’ve never even met.

Your craving sugar, but it’s so bad trying to eat anything else tastes disgusting. Eventually you eat sugar straight from the bag.

All the produce in all the grocery stores in your town have rotted over night.

Your house is infested with butterflies.

You collect dead bugs, pin them into pretty picture frames, they decorate your wall. They’ve come back to life and are crawling around in their frames on the wall.

Someone keeps leaving voicemails about how great and cool you are and how nice you look… who is this and how do they know how I look?

Crows keep leaving you little shiny stuff. They bring you a ring, there’s dried blood on it.

Your plant is growing some suspicious looking fruits, you can’t find any information on them online. Taste test.

been meaning to post these here for AGES now but I keep forgetting to. explodes 💥

but ANYWAYS! i redid the ref art for my Stranger oc from Myst/Riven! and also finally got around to drawing the aged-up version I thought up for him between Myst 3 and 4.

also wrote out a sort of messy bio for him a while ago, which i'll put under the cut since it's kinda long lol

ACE

Basic info

• Born October 7, 1782. He is 24 during the events of Myst & Riven, 33 during Exile and 42 during Revelation.

• He stands about 5’6” (1.6m) and is around 120 lbs. Pretty scrawny and definitely built better for agility than physical power.

• He is transgender and uses he/him pronouns. That caused quite a few problems for him back home, given the social climate at the time. He really doesn’t like to discuss his past or his birth family & will quickly change the subject if asked.

• He's very kind, easygoing and silly, and he loves to help others. But he can also be quite scatterbrained, forgetful, and prone to emotional manipulation.

• While he can be a bit absent-minded at times, he’s actually quite intelligent & quick-thinking, and he excels at problem- and puzzle-solving. He often cracks Atrus’s puzzles within mere minutes, but then can't recall his thought process when asked how he did it.

• Most of his favorite pastimes involve creating and fixing things. For instance, he’s very skilled with a needle & thread, and he makes and mends all of his own clothes. Drawing is another big one for him— his journal contains a lot more doodles in the margins than actual writing.

• He also LOVES animals, especially frogs, reptiles and bugs. He’s good at reading animals' behavioral cues and often has an easier time gaining their trust than most people would.

Early life/childhood

• His birth family were early settlers in the Northwest Territory, moving out west with him in tow when he was just a small child & starting a homestead there. His family consisted of his father, mother, and 3 brothers- 2 older and 1 younger.

• His gender identity caused friction with his family later in his childhood, since they had assumed he was just a tomboyish child and would eventually grow out of it. Obviously, though, he never did.

• His refusal to adhere to his assigned gender eventually escalated to his parents viewing him as hysterical & mentally unwell. Things only continued to get worse as he grew older, which eventually led him to go on the run. He kept a low profile & travelled mostly on his own for years, pressing farther into uncharted territory in an attempt to get as far away from his family as possible, which was how he first stumbled across the Myst linking book.

Life with Atrus & family

• Despite everything Saavedro did at the start of Exile, Ace still finds himself understanding of the man's predicament (perhaps relating the experience to his own upbringing in an abstract sort of way), and he takes it upon himself to help him get home by any means necessary. He often wonders how things worked out for Saavedro after their encounter & genuinely wishes the best for him.

• Slight deviation from canon- After the events of Exile, Ace got so worried about someone else coming after Atrus and his family while he was gone that he insisted on staying with them to help keep an eye on things. He moved in with them in Tomahna and helped out, both with Atrus’s projects and just general home/family things. He sort of took up the role of another older brother figure to Yeesha.

• Over time, he begins to view Atrus & Catherine not just as friends, but sort of as a new, more accepting family. He's definitely slipped up & called them “mom” and “dad” by accident before. SEVERAL times. He was really embarrassed about it at first, although they weren't bothered by it.

• He and Atrus work well together! Although Ace can’t write his own Ages, he often helps test Atrus’s creations and suggests ways he could potentially improve them. His ideas tend to fall somewhere in between Atrus & Catherine in terms of realism- a little wacky but still somewhat grounded in reality. He’s also quick to remind Atrus to take breaks & not get TOO into his work.

• Ace also spends a lot of time back home with Catherine and Yeesha. He does a good job earning his keep by helping around the home, and he and Catherine often like to bounce ideas off of one another. He finds her creativity super impressive, and a favorite pastime of his is to try & draw various creatures and landscapes that she describes.

• Since he lives with the family in between Exile and Revelation, Ace learns about what happened to Atrus’s sons much earlier than in canon, and he often tags along with the family when they visit. Usually he doesn’t go visit the brothers by himself, since he isn’t sure how comfortable Atrus would be with that, but he has offered to deliver things like care packages to them before & he’ll often stop to chat with them for a while.

• Ace has sort of always felt drawn towards Achenar. Despite the older brother's obvious shiftiness, Ace couldn't help but feel bad for him. He'd actually collected every blue page and was going to free him before he was (thankfully) stopped by Atrus. Despite being made aware of the attempted trick, Ace still forgave Achenar pretty quickly after seeing how much he’d changed over the years, and now he's always eager to go visit him with the rest of the family. The two get along surprisingly well & become close friends over time, and Ace will often stay behind to talk to him long after the rest of the family decides to head home from their visits.

• Ace, however, has always gotten bad vibes from Sirrus ever since he first arrived on Myst. He already has a disdain for greedy rich-guy types, and Sirrus always struck Ace as very disingenuous and closed-off, which further limited their ability to connect on an emotional level. Deep down, though, Ace still has a soft spot for Sirrus, and often displays it by teasing him in a playful little-sibling sort of way. While Sirrus generally finds his jokes more annoying than amusing, it clearly isn’t malicious and at least breaks up some of his day-to-day tedium, so he begrudgingly tolerates it.

Chai post – my fanon

[Part 1: Childhood]

Trying to finally get some things out of my head. This post will also be answering @purplecheshire1 question “Do you ever wonder what was Kale and Chai’s childhood before being an adult?”

I’ll be splitting it into parts and writing about Kale in a different post for convenience (and because I don’t know when I’ll write those but I feel bad for not putting at least something).

And I will also, additionally, talk about adulthood in another part.

Name: Chai. This name was given to him in an orphanage. Surname: Prefers not to have one. Uses his actual second name only when necessary.

Chai was found on January 25th in a culvert pipe by a group of youngsters who unexpectedly had their pleasant evening disturbed by a baby’s cry. They turned to the police for help, but they were unable to find the child’s parents or any information on the baby, so he ended up in an orphanage.

His right arm already wasn’t showing signs of healthiness when he was found.

Chai is aware of these events.

Since no one knows when he was actually born, his birthday is celebrated on the day he was found - on the 25th of January.

Life in the orphanage wasn’t particularly bright: study, eat, and hope that grownups would come and take you home with them.

Chai wasn’t doing great. He had a hard time concentrating on his studies and finding friends. He seemed to never be able to understand which way other kids’ train of thought was going. Some looked down on him and thought he was weird.

He also wasn’t doing great with the “grownups will come and take you home with them” part.

He started to think like there was something wrong with him since childhood. He still distinctly remembers one married couple that came to the orphanage. The man pointed at him and whispered to his spouse “Not in our budget”.

The medical staff in the orphanage couldn’t do much for his arm except give him a sling.

The kid spent time mostly by himself. Playing around huge sewer pipes and making friends with small creatures: ants, frogs, and all kinds of bugs. He collected all caterpillars he could find and helped them grow to become beautiful butterflies (he never stopped doing that).

And he very much likes antlions. He saw one only in the book. Thought it was cool. He would like to raise one one day.

Things changed when a new kid arrived at the orphanage. A girl named Daisy. Like Chai, she was disabled – she lost both of her arms in an accident that also took her parent’s lives. Daisy’s only remaining relative that took care of her, her grandmother, recently passed away, and without anyone to take care of her, she was sent to the orphanage.

Chai stuck to her because she, like he is, was different. The two of them got along pretty well.

He was very surprised to discover that her favorite hobby was, and still is, drawing. Despite losing both arms, she never gave up and instead decided to learn to draw using her feet.

“Drawing helps me keep the bad thoughts away and gives me something to look forward to in life. I want to be like one of those big artists one day. Everyone has that one thing that gives them a reason to push through. You should too,” she said to him one day.

Daisy's words stuck with Chai. He had thought a lot about what she said and, one day, he happily rushed to his friend to tell her that he would become a rockstar.

Grogu loved the big table in the Daimyo’s palace. It was a great place for doing his sketches, chatting with friends, and, of course, eating. So much eating. Between them, Fennec Shand and Daimyo Fett seemed to think that every meal had to feed a dozen or more people. Grogu appreciated that most of the time. But at least one time it was too much. Way too much. Far too much. An almost horrifyingly amount of too much. It had actually been terrifying. 

The day had begun like any day on Tatooine when he and the Mandalorian were visiting the Daimyo. They discussed Mandalorian politics (rank amateurs), smash ball (rebuilding, always rebuilding), and the state of the New Republic (‘they are lead by children’). Fennec would pop in for a couple of split seconds to report on all the problems she had solved since the prior evening (Pykes turned away again, spice shipment disrupted and repurposed, bounty hunter after {insert name here} escorted out of Mos Espa and off Tatooine, etc.) as usual. 

Then the droid chef, or was it a mech chef? Grogu didn’t know and on that day he hadn’t even thought to ask. In any case, the chef, who was not a living being, started sending food up to the meeting room. Grogu had been happy to see it. Listening to the others talk business always made him hungry simply because he wanted to do something productive. 

First the chef’s helpers brought up typical breakfast fare. Caf, juice, iced water, hot tea, cold tea, moof milk, bantha milk (huh?), sweeteners, carafes, mugs, bottles, cups, glasses, and a wide variety of other containers. The problem was they didn’t bring up the normal amount of the stuff. It was like they were cleaning out the kitchen cabinets and they thought that this was the best way to handle it. 

Daimyo Fett and Din Djarin didn’t even seem to notice. They were too busy making their morning caf ‘just so’ and since Grogu was waiting for the bone broth to appear he was just observing the scene. Fennec had already left the room. The protocol droid just began to move things around as the Daimyo reached for his favorite sweetener and Grogu watched as the things that had been brought into the room were rearranged in kind of an outline of the whole space. He supposed it made sense. If you wanted more of a thing you could just point at the wall it was lined up next to and the protocol droid would fetch it for you. 

When the next wave of food entered the room it was made up of all the baked things that the kitchen could produce. The Daimyo’s favorite puff pastry with the little bit of quant berry jelly in the center. The heavy Mandalorian rolls that Fennec maintained were the inspiration for smash ball. Then all manner of cakes, cereals, pies, custards, crisps. Still no bone broth, but Grogu was a big fan of crisps and helped himself to no less than fifteen different varieties as they were brought to the table and then, like the drinks before them, redistributed around the room. 

Grogu tried to flag down the protocol droid to request some bone broth, but that was hopeless. The layer of baked goods around the room’s perimeter was twice as wide as the layer of beverages. It was a good thing that droid had long legs and small foot cups. It made it much easier for it to step over the emerging barricade. 

While that was happening, both Din Djarin and the Daimyo were simply ripping fire stacks into small pieces and eating them slowly as they savored the burning hot Mandalorian spice they were caked with. Grogu liked fire stacks as well, but he usually knocked a lot of the hot spice off of them before he ate them. Frog didn’t take the same after eating a fire stack that was just loaded with the stuff. 

After the baked goods, the fried food, boiled food, rotisseried food, the helpers finally served the fresh food. Grogu was happy about that. Even though the majority of ‘fresh’ food was in the form of vegetables, you could still find melons, berries, large and small aquatic critters, like gorgs and scalefish,  and pretty interesting variety of other critters. 

Grogu enjoyed this part of the meal the most, right up to the moment when he heard the words that brought all eating and drinking to an abrupt halt… 

“Where do you want us to put the rathtar?” 

Both Daimyo Fett and the Mandalorian tried to jump to their feet, but they were stuck where they were. So much food had been brought into the room they couldn’t even move their chairs even slightly away from the table. Grogu had to sit on the table just to keep from being squashed by the new dishes being placed in the room and pretended, at least once, to be one of things being served by stuffing a jogan fruit into his mouth and laying very still in his first layer. It had fooled the helpers and that’s all he had aimed to do. 

Once again Grogu had a great view of what was happening as the Daimyo aimed his missile launcher at the ‘rathtar’ and those holding it, while the Mandalorian had turned on his flight pack and forced his way into the air, almost knocking the whole table over. Grogu was certain that he was watching a tragedy unfold when a clear, calm voice cut through the mayhem. 

“It’s not real. It’s a toy for the kid. You just have to suspend it and he can tear it apart with the force. There are a bunch of freeze dried froglets in there and packets of bone broth! Whatever you do don’t fire that missile. It’ll take forever to get the frog out of everything.”

Thank goodness for Fennec! Grogu turned to thank her, but she was already gone. One problem solved and already on her way to solve the next one. He hoped.

sitting alone in the library had never been a new thing, nor uncommon for you.

hogwarts was home, and it wasn't like you had no friends— though you had very few. you just liked to sit and look over the grounds, peacefully.

you'd escaped class first, and ran down the long halls, pushing and prying as you needed to.

plopping your bag down at your favorite table— one in the corner hidden by bookshelves, near a big window, you grinned. a moment of peace at last.

sitting down in the seat nearest the window, you pulled out your phone, plugging your headphones in as you unlocked it.

this was your ritual, put your headphones in, and watch the world fade away. todays music was taylor swift, a calming and bittersweet type of day matched well with her.

opening your music app, and pressing play, you felt yourself fade away. reaching into your book bag to begin the days homework, you let out a relieved sigh.

you began your notes quickly, but only a few minutes had vanished before you were swiftly interrupted.

you felt the vibrations of a loud bump, originating from the seat across you. you silently cursed the thought of small talk, looking up to see a boy you'd never spoken to, though one you'd known all too well.

you couldn't be mad at the disruption, how could you, his smile was almost hypnotizing. you gave him a light smile, assuring him he was fine in his loudness, pulling a headphone out to offer him the chance to speak.

"huh?"

he shook his head, giving another sheepish smile at his behind understanding of your irony. he reached out a hand offering an introduction. you shook it.

"what're you listening to?"

"may seem corney.. but taylor swift, why?"

"taylor ! i love taylor, can i listen?"

you raised a brow at him, but smiled nonetheless, moving your bookbag and offering the stranger it's spot.

he partically rushed to the spot, as if some invisible force may take it if he wasn't quick. you handed him your second earbud, turning the music up one notch.

from then on it was a silent company, he would hum lyrics as you studied, the both of you would sing here and there together. hushed lyrics wrapping around you both.

at some points his slender fingers would dance on the table top, doodling on his own notes rather than studying.

time seemed to disappear by then, and by the time curfew hit neither of you truly wanted to leave, what if this never happened again.

Escapism Hunter x reader

A/n: yet another reader who used to be in the emperor's coven, I don't know why I like this idea so much.

It was nice to finally relax, despite the circumstances. It wasn't great to be trapped in the human realm. But Belos wasn't there to torment you and Hunter. Which felt like enough. You could just be yourself, with no fear of punishment for messing up. 

You had recently gotten into a new book series. Anytime you could read it, you did. And recently you had finished it. The book had a super satisfying ending. So of course you had to share it with Hunter. You skipped down the stairs. "Hey, Hunter I have a book for you to read!" You said happily. Hunter smiled, "I do too!" He held up a book in his hands, "it's called cosmic frontier!" "Oh do tell!" You sat beside him.

"Okay, so it's set in space! There's Captain Avery, Security Officer Quando," A smile spread across his face, "and my personal favorite Chief Engineer O'Bailey!" You listened closely to everything he said. While you didn't understand half of it, it was clear he was happy. And you could get the gist of things you didn't understand via context clues.

"I'm going to stop before I explain the whole story. So what was your story about?" You inhaled slightly, "Okay the book is about two twins. One's a slacker the other one is super smart. They get sucked into a book." You explained, "They meet a frog dude. In order to get back home they need ingredients... Like a fairy tear. Kind of like us huh." There was a pause between both of you. Hunter spoke up, "How weird is it that we both found a book that relates to going back home?" You chuckled, "Yeah. But I find it weirder that it was the two people who are the least enthusiastic to get back." 

Hunter seemed to get weirdly nervous. "What do you mean? I want to get back as soon as possible!" You leaned into him, "You can't lie to me, neither of us were that happy while we were in the Demon Realm. By the time we got out of the coven the Day of Unity was in like a week." Hunter looked down, "But I feel like I should feel bad. Everyone else lost their home." "Is it really such a bad thing that we're happier? We could feel bad for them but happy for ourselves." Hunter gave a slight smile. "Yeah... Yeah! We don't need to feel sad. It's good to finally be happy."
