You might think that its funny that UHC CEO was murdered but someday you might be the CEO of a multi billion dollar corporation making an eight figure salary maybe you wont think its so funny
The day I make eight figures, or seven for that matter (six also seems kinda pushing sanity, not to mention decency) the day I really start worrying about the people paying me, like their sanity and such. I know my worth, probably ten thousand bucks more than I make now, max, and that keeps me well under the six figure income bracket.
On the day I make eight figures for inventing a widget that slices bread eight times faster than the latest doohickey on the market, I'm donating that money, and not to my own money laundering charity front either, I'm giving that shit straight to the Peshmerga or Karen National Union (two groups I've always been fond of along with the Zapatista) and keeping back maybe the five figures I need to support my family on. With maybe an extra five thousand a year to support local artists and underfunded historical preservation initiatives... but most of this magical money is going to groups actually doing the work.
I'm hoping, of course, that by the time I become a CEO both Kurdistan and the Karens have achieved independence, but also being realistic about this very silly scenario.
If I make my hypothetical millions on the blood, sweat, and suffering of people just to keep my shareholders happy, then, comrades all, I deserve any medicinal lead the people see fit to give me by the nearest bike messenger.

🇸🇾 #Syria - #Rojava: Turkish-backed mercenaries attempted to infiltrate a village in northern Manbij last night, with the Turkish military supporting the operation. The SDF’s Manbij Military Council was able to repel the attack, reportedly inflicting heavy casualties on the mercenaries. Turkish military convoys have now been seen heading in the direction of the Manbij frontlines.

Last month I made a post about how I believed the "left" would turn on Muslims the nano second people stopped caring about the Palestinian people and I was wrong, it happened when the Syrian people rid themselves of a brutal dictator.
The "left" is so fucking infuriating like they look at Gaza and rightfully say "this is awful and needs to stop" but then looks at Syria and goes "well Assad likes the Palestinians so this is bad" like WHAT???.
Assad and his family murdered thousands of Syrian Palestinians and gassed their own people, like aren't we supposed to support people in taking back their own freedom. What happened to the leftist supporting Rojava and a Syria free from Assad, where did they go cause we need those people back.
And then the critzeism of HTS, SNA and surprisingly the SDF once people realized that the U.S backed them, like obviously trusting a former Al-Qaeda guy is difficult for most and impossible for others alongside a Turkish backed group which is a state hellbent on the genocide of the Kurdish people.
These people aren't saying that they don't trust them their just calling them all rebels (at times including the Kurds) ISIS, this whole time as just reminded me when Russian invaded into Ukraine and these same "leftists" started going full Russian and viewing them as some anti imperialist force and it's truly just obvious to me that these people aren't even on the left in any sort of way but are just opportunists who view anything america or it's allies to bad and everything else as good.

A Letter To The Comrades In The SDF
My message, to the various groups of the SDF, who are as varied as life in the sea. To those who said you would stand up, and defend and get justice for the people of the coast. Will you comply with this treaty? Can you morally do that? Now with this treaty that the American Fascist Trump put on you, you will be allies with the same terrorists who helped kill your families years ago. The same terrorists who killed hundreds of innocent people in the coast. And will be forced to by proxy be allies with the fascist Turkish government that seeks the total annihilation of the Kurdish, Armenian, and Alawite peoples. This treaty in one signature signs away all you have fought. It signs away your dignity as humans to defend the revolutions you made, it signs away your dignity as humans to defend your homes, families, and people you swore to protect. It signs away the women's revolution of the YPG and others, it is very clear that this treaty in all terms was unacceptable. To collude with the enemy in this way should have been unthinkable. Yet your leaders signed it because they would rather listen to the fascists in DC rather than you. It wasn't unthinkable in fact to them it was acceptable and I am sure the rewards to your leaders will be bountiful as all you fought for is taken away. So to you who sacrificed everything, for years in fighting to define all that you love, do not let your so-called leaders sign it over to the enemy terrorist government in Damascus. Do not let them sign away all you worked for, all you fought for, all your comrades, your brothers and sisters died for. This is not the time to stand for peace when the enemy has guns to the heads of countless innocents! Now is the time to stand up for justice, for the innocent civilians who can't stand up for themselves. Stand there are the shield against the terrorist, fascist and now that it has been seen to be Trump's aim to disarm you to help the terrorist. Stand as a shield against the imperialists in Washington DC and Tel Aviv.
The most revolutionary endeavor is the hope for justice and peace, the offer made and the treaty signed today was not made in consideration of either. So to the comrades I address here do not stand for it. This is selling all the principles you have and all that you have left.

Syria news update
I'll be following this obsessively, so I may as well provide some info to anyone interested. An article published by Politico at about 1:30 EST(or last updated at that time, it could be either) claims that the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, or HTS forces now control around half of Aleppo. For any who don't know, these guys had been contained within part of the Idlib governorate since around 2020, and despite being theocratic terrorists who used to be a branch of al-Qaeda, their part of Idlib nearly doubled in population from around 4 million to around 8 million from refugees fleeing the Assad regime. Assad's forces, backed up by Iranian advisors and militias along with Russian drones and the occasional Russian airstrike had been waging a low-level campaign of bombings and artillery strikes against the rebels for months now, but they've melted in the face of this new advance.
There also seems to be some clashes between the remnants of the Syrian National Army(who control a small portion of the north of the country and are now backed by Turkey, who has troops in parts of the SNA's territory) and the Syrian government forces, with reports of an airstrike on an SNA base that could only have come from either the Syrian government or Russia. There are reports of the SNA having captured multiple villages and towns, though not nearly as many as the jihadis, since the SNA is, to borrow a nerd phrase, likely just making attacks of opportunity to capitalized on the Syrian government's weakness, as opposed to the jihadis who were likely planning and amassing forces for months.
The SDF has an enclave in Aleppo that was previously a majority-Kurdish neighborhood before the war, and they are confirmed to be sending reinforcements there. They had to go through government controlled territory to get there, but there's been some limited co-operation between the SDF and Syrian government in the past involving enclaves in each other's territory, and anyways it's not like the Syrian government has the werewithal to do anything about this even if they wanted to. There are reports of some clashes between the SDF and jihadis, but given how little territory the SDF controls in that region(outside of Aleppo they have another, larger enclave, but it's still pretty small compared to the other factions' territory and their own primary territory in the east) I don't know how much of a factor they'll be.
There's already been at least one high-ranking Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps advisor killed, and while Russia's ground forces have been hauling ass out of the region at least one drone operating team got caught, with some members confirmed killed via video and the rest either captured or executed. Given that there have been multiple confirmed instances of HTS using armored vehicles as suicide-car-bombs, I think we can safely assume that the laws of war aren't something they care about, with that likely being as true for the Syrian government. There are no real "good" factions here, but the SNA and Kurds are at the very least less bad than either Assad's despotic tyranny or HTS's theocratic extremism. But since the latter two are the main combatants, this is primarily a red-on-red campaign, with the factions backed by Turkey and the West for the moment seeming to be focused more on making short-term gains and/or protecting what they've already got from being overrun. I'll try and post more as more information becomes available.
EDIT: Update-the SDF appears to be seizing territory west of Aleppo. If I had to make an uneducated guess, I'd say they're trying to create a connection between their enclave in Aleppo and either their larger enclave in the north or their main body of territory in the east, and/or to capture any towns that are majority-Kurdish to protect them from the other factions.

ok so, here's my prediction to how this unresisted invasion if syria will pan out.
israel will continue with its attacks against assad's military, and continue working towards the zionist-jihadist friendship and cooperation.
the hts will allow israel to occupy a lot more land than it currently is, and allow israel to work inside syrian borders. (there's a probable chance israel will retreat from newly invaded land, but jihadist syria will give the the golan heights in peace negotiations)
this new 'alliance' will allow both of them to invade and occupy neighboring countries like lebanon, and fight against their shared enemies like Iran.
and unless israel use their new alliance to retreat their powers from syria, and work with the western-friendly arab states towards full retreat from the borders of 67, an establishment of a palestinian state, and peace treaties with most western-friendly arab states, which is very unlikely, as netanyahu said himself this will never happen under his or his friends' rule. this new alliance and expabtionism towards a 'greater israel' will, unsurprisingly, end up with one country betraying the other, and a full on israeli-syrian war, which other arab nations will take advantage of, and will mark the end of israel as we know it.
israel is attempting the exact same thing that led to october 7th, the only difference is that now the enemies will have a real fucking military, much more powerful than hezbollah.
another option, is that the SDF will re-capture the occupied turkish territories, and start advancing towards deposing the jihadist powers currently controlling syria, allowing an actually free syria, and another strong enemy of israel.
also, there is a very high chance israel and hamas will both sign a temporary ceasefire agreement to release some of the prisoners and hostages in gaza, and probably a 3-5x amount of prisoners and hostages in Israel. and an increase of humanitarian aid to gaza(which israel will unsurprisingly try to prevent through unofficial means, aka allowing the jewish terrorists to destroy even more aid trucks.) this agreement will be signed probably either this month, or in january of 2025
