#politely i'm obsessed#also so the first gif is from essentially the game clinching play#there's a minute and a half left pho are ahead 89 to 85 [they've won the first game in the series if they win this they are through#to the championship. the game has been up and down with sas going on runs and one girl hitting 4 threes in the first#cappie pondexter winds down the shot clock penny sets a screen to let her through#all the sas run to cappie which leaves penny open for 3#she makes it she's fouled and 1#that first gif is right after she makes the shot and the whistle blows#then she makes the free throw phoenix mercury are up by 8 and sas has to foul for the last minute of play#i am also obsessed with their big 3 being 3 13 and 23#also that this is cappie's second year in the league and she is the reason they won this game#and she wins finals mvp#this footage well the first one is from the measly 1 minute and 48 second penny taylor highlight from the wnba#and the second one which is from the same game but not in the bootleg video on youtube is in an edit from inside the bun#which has in the description free diana so i can only assume it's from the modafinil situation but i cannot find that footage anywhere#it's actually unfortunate bc the merc used to like before youtube was big post video exclusives to their website#and not everything has been preserved#i have to go on the internet archive because i think there might be more there#it's where i see all the old late night clips that aren't on youtube#so and ik im yapping here that's why it's in the tags the way i figured out where the last one was from#was i cross checked getty images for the 2007 and 2009 playoffs#and there's an image of cappie you can see her in like the first frame talking to then gm annie meyers drysdale who now calls the games#diana taurasi#penny taylor

The lack of Copyright on AI Images is a Feature, not a Bug.
The pictures I'm included are completely random, except that they are all generated with CLIP-Interrogator derived prompts and were not edited, they are, by my standards if not the law's, public domain.
Not going to be a whole lot to this one. Currently, there's no copyright on AI-generated images, under the "minimal human expression" rule. While I personally think that prompting and iterating alone can rise to meet that standard, I think the current situation is ideal for a number of reasons.
The big one is that a situation where people are jumping on and staking claim to prompt/seed/dataset combinations would be a recipe for disaster and open up whole new frontiers of copyright trolling.
But in general, I'm for the restoration of the commons by any means available. The use of AI elements should be, in terms of copyright, handled in the same way as any other public domain image source. That seems to be the way the US copyright system seems to be leaning, and that's good.
(Anything I wind up registering with them will have a maliciously compliant level of documentation about how much I've reworked my pieces, at least until they chill out. Zarya of the Dawn isn't doing anything differently than Wondermark is.)
By doing so, your day-to-day recreational user can make images for fun or personal projects and in doing so help replenish the commons, and anyone who is utilizing the tech for artistic or commercial purpose is incentivized to keep artists directly in the process (on top of all the other limitations of the tech).
This will incentivize the hoarding of original generations to make it more difficult to suss out what is edited and what's not, but as drawbacks go, its not the worst.

Binder clips.
These things are so versatile. And affordable. And long-lasting.
The large and medium ones are usually in our kitchen, to be used as bag clips. Except for the ones that are already in use in charging cord organizational systems.
They can also hang onto a nail in the wall while holding a note (or an envelope of fresh facemasks).
They can attach to index cards, creating a rudimentary stand.
They can be used as clamps while glue dries.
The silver wire parts are easy to purposefully remove/replace, but it's very difficult to do it accidentally. Attaching a hair elastic that can then be attached to anything narrow enough with a lark's head knot makes hanging cords or notes or whatever extremely convenient. And, for longer-term usage, the wire parts can be removed after the clip has been out in place.
