"but that doesn't mean i can just..." he trails off, the image of you possibly slipping, throwing up, any little accident that can you the baby's, but specially your safety in danger. "fine. whatever." he chuckles, giving in so easily. he's rolling ontop of you before you can answer, tucking his face in your neck where he can breathe you in.

"im staying, but we're not leaving the bed the whole day."

ms paint. you know her. u used her age 8 to make loads of rainbow ovals all over the canvas and then scramble it with selection tool. now u will know her true powers with my handyrandy tips under the readmore. some will be pretty basic and others are very special.

this post has 8 cool trix to learn for you. enjoy and i may do another in the future if i remember/learn more stuff

some of it might be common knowledge. but its got some deep cuts. all tips have gifs to show process easily.

TIP 1) the right click trick

left and right mouse click correspond to col1 and col2 respectively, which u can see in the top bar. this applies to all brushes and the fill tool like above. when using shapes col2 will be the fill colour (if you have solid fill selected). right clicking with shape maker will reverse the colours use on the shape.

TIP 2) right click eraser

this one is extremely helpful for lineart or add shading. the eraser always uses col2. so your eraser can technically be any colour. but here's where you get powers: right clicking with eraser will only erase onto col1, with col2.

TIP 3) transparent selection change a guy destination

the beloved transparent selection tool works based on what is selected as col2. so long as you have the correct colour as col2 you can make any image transparent and put it on top of anything else. and yes this works with photo bg as you can see.

TIP 4) the gradience

this one is a little more complex. you want to start off with any canvas size, and make as many diagonal coloured bands as you want. (protip: holding down shift makes a perfectly diagonal line with line tool)

then you need to resize the canvas to a width of 1px (make sure you resize by pixels, and do not maintain aspect ratio). then resize again back to its original width (or a different width i cant stop you). you will have your lovely gradience.

TIP 5) superimposter

so. you got a cool gradient and wanna put a guy on it. heres what i do:

i open a 2nd mspaint with same canvas size and draw whatever i want on there. i then pick a completely unrelated colour to my entire piece, and set that as the bg. you could use white, pink, geen, whatever you want as long as it doesnt appear somewhere else in ur drawing. copy the guy.

go back to your gradient tab. ensure that col2 is set as that bg colour you picked (lilac for me). have "transparent selection" enabled. paste your guy in. cue fanfare

TIP 6) advanced superimposter

the great thing about this method is u can put multiple gradients in multiple areas of the image. this is where it gets all japanese printmaking type of shit. ukiyo-esque

all you need to do is make another canvas with a new gradient, ensure col2 is set as the colour you want to replace, then paste your original piece onto the new gradient. now my guy has a soft fade. you can do this as much as you want. (you could even make a canvas with a texture or photo and paste your drawing onto there)

TIP 7) "sketch layer"

so as you now know, col2 is what is removed when you click "transparent selection". which means you can also remove any instance of a colour from ur drawing. which means you can have a unique colour for sketch layer and remove it from the drawing later. i admittedly dont do this but it is a great trick to have.

now combine this with lowering your dpi for smoother lines. may seem obvious but it helps. its like a free stabiliser whenever u want.

TIP 8) rainbow art

now this is where you can get dizzee rascal "bonkers". check out my small and shitty rainbow trick. you can select anything and hold down shift, then drag with left mouse, to turn that selection into its own brush. i even did it with a guy. and you can of course do this with a photo as well.

I’m on both and every time I go back over to aphtwt it’s like that guy with pizzas going into a room on fire

its a long ass story thats been going on since the reveal of s7. here's just a recount of what's been going on lately for anyone curious i guess. its just to answer why a lot of people are icked out by laurance right now and why people are saying "i cant enjoy laurance anymore"

bascially laurance's va doesn't know how to properly manage his image,

ive been following him long before, he would have a few old tweets and tiktoks where he gets really annoyed towards aphmau fans, and reasonably so

...after the reveal of s7, he tried coming back to make his brand Laurance except he's using his NFSW bdsm account. after people started trying to link his nsfw links to his aphwiki page i made a twt post asking people to stop doing that. thats when we realized seb is obsessed with searching himself up on twitter and he proceeded to QRT me and make a few response posts reiterating what i said and apologizing for interacting with minors on his nsfw account. he made a new alt account for interacting with fans on aphtwt.

that was back around september-october

he searches himself and laurance up constantly to QRT and pick fights and stuff. its clear he's going through mental shit - he talks about it a lot. but it took him months to realize hes not fit to be running an account to host his image/brand that he wants to be about Laurance. he picks up on any drama around himself and kinda has a villain speech every time someone doesnt like him. im kind of starting to feel bad for him.

this is all while lowkey begging Jess to contact him again to bring him back for VA work, cryptically referring to her sometimes as "The Creator". I forgot to mention he had this whole "Guys im having a huge reveal, Im coming back to VAing for a very special charater.." thing. me and a lot of people picked up on him being kind of.. fake? basically, he shit on aphmau before, equated VA work to a MLM, then had a total sudden switch-up as soon as s7 was announced and realized he can renew his role. he had a video saying he wants this job to get a new tattoo.

^ 'What's wrong with wanting money?' the thing is being a VA means you need to have a good image and thats usually generated by having a good fanbase. all that really said was that he's just hopping on a bandwagon to get paid and thus his fan interactions just came across as desperate and bait-y and fake as hell. think about how other VA's interact w their fans then compare it to this,

what happened yesterday was that garroth's VA announced he was doing a mystreet rewatch with much of the og cast!... then sebastian QRT'd with this

someone even asked if he can join them too

then he joined the discord. then got banned after 10 minutes.. then crashed out about it on twitter, posting that garroth's va blocked him. not posting the massive paragraph he had because its kinda the sameburger poetry. i genuinely have no idea why he would post this than to like, try to get people to turn on garroth's VA. severely inappropriate behavior for someone trying to come back to being a VA

allegedly, seb had livestreamed a while ago where he said something along the lines of, (quoting from oomf's memory) "I don't recommend you contacting or asking any of the old VAs about me, I don't know if they still think about me the same bc of how I was back then. Bipolar Disorder was really bad for me back then, it made me so edgy." and how other VAs had issues with him and tension. - i dont have a source for this but it lines up with this tweet :

where he very inappropriately and for no reason mentioned he had issues with another VA. the problem is he had NO reason to bring that up and had the situation he was referring to was about gene having a fill-in on a cocomau video and nothing to do with seb himself or any drama or anything.

hunter in general pisses me off, because on top of shit talking a show that doesnt even have a pilot yet, (which means they werent even able to compete against helluva boss and, from what ive heard, barely any other indie shows at the time with murder drones being concluded by that point and tadc or tgld not being out yet, the only other options to vote for were storytime youtubers,) THEY were the one to bring it up unprompted in a fandom related served. thats not even the worst part though. i think the worst part is that i can tell their loyalty to spindlehorse hasnt truly been and will not be rewarded. they praise the company for simply letting her be apart of a creative team with lots of freedom, and its honestly a real talent she can emulate art styles which is necessary for the industry. but in that, for someone whos drawn probably hundreds of pieces of merch for said company, who knows if shes getting the $1000 dollar a week pay check that its rumored that hat teeth, sam, morgana, and others towards the top probably get. When Dallas got in his Bucks red Thunderbird, he didn't have a clue where he was going.

He was practically in a trance, the urge to drive hitting him hard after one too many drinks, his body moving on autopilot as he cruised the streets of Tulsa. Every turn was a reflex, every acceleration second nature from the countless times he had driven through scorching summer days and restless winter nights.

Without quite realizing it, he made a familiar right turn into the parking lot of the drive-in, hands trembling on the wheel. Why the fuck was he here?

okay onto the serious part lol

SO, I wanna talk about this frame real quick. This is in the manga, after Rufel (Elf Luck) vs. Magna, Vanessa, and Asta in the Elf Saga. Nobody talks about this enough lmao

this frame was made a very, very big deal in the manga and I think it was watered down in the anime. "It's gonna be me... and Luck!!!" Was reocurring in Luck's flashbacks of the Bulls shortly before he regains control over his body, and then the image above was at the end of the chapter as an extra. This sorta shows how much Magna's words meant to him; it says in the Assorted Questions Brigade that Luck wants someone who's strong and can go at it again and again, and the fact that this was included in the end of where Magna and Luck's bond became something stronger than just "best friends" sort of reinforces their ship for me? I feel like if just anyone had declared that the the final battle was between them and Luck, he would've just gone "oh yay someone to fight" but the fact that he had that special reaction to Magna and Magna specifically just... ough please make them canon.

these were my thoughts when i was reading the Black Clover manga. If you want to read it for yourself, it's chapter 160 i believe.

another shippy detail: Magna and Luck use their Combo Spell, Flame Lightning Explosive Cannon I think is what it's called, every time their friendship reaches a higher point. The first occurence of this is Magna and Luck vs. Vetto of course, where they have their super cinematic fight and where we get an origin for their friendship. They seem so much closer after that; when they recover and throughout various other missions.

the second occurence is after Luck gets possessed. I feel like that sentence speaks for itself. And then after that, in the anime, we get an absolutely GOLDEN filler episode where Magna and Luck are definitely a bit more fruity... not only does Luck want a room next to Magna to, "sense his mana and know what he's doing, man i cant wait to mess with him" Magna has this whole speech about how he won't let Luck leave him behind.

the third occurrence was in chapter 369, if i remember. Do correct me if I'm wrong, I'm going solely off of memory. This was after Magna and Luck reunite after being apart for 6 agonizing months for MagLuck shippers, in which they have a whole reignition of their rivalry, basically.

"If I'm with this guy..."

"I'll never slow down."

"I'm not... gonna mess around!"

"Yeah, me neither!"

It's just precious to me how their friendship rivalry and one day canon relationship, hopefully, is displayed. The fact that Magna and Luck have all these details attached to them makes me truly believe that they'll one day be canon, or at least implied. Something like Bow and Dazu, idk.

Whats the weirdest argument against Elain or elriel you have heard?

I think this is oen of them (I cant believe its still here after all these years): Elain doesn't belong in the Night Court because CASSIAN THOUGHT she looked bad in an unflattering black dress when the IC had to make the famously beautiful elain unflattering so Eris would focus on Nesta. There's a very clear reason cassian said elain looked unflattering, so readers could understand what the IC was up to, manipulating Eris to their wishes. Which Elain was an important part of.

Never mind it's never once even implied you have to wear black in the Night court. Rhysands first and second, Mor and Amren, dont. But GA/EL have special rules for elain! Otherwise everyone knows she will most definitely jump the bones of her favorite bat boy and he will be very very VERY happy about that. We can't have that! Need her gone!

And it's so funny that it is because of one of the scenes where Elain chooses to work for the IC that they claim she doesn't belong there. Its so backwards and ANYTHING Elain does is disregarded in favor of the words of a male. But GA/EL are entirely focused on the males so I guess it's no surprise.

They have been too locked up in their bubbles, their ridiculous ideas have moved further and further from the books and then become so ingrained. Like a house of cards built on fanon. So fragile the tiny puff of wind from turning a page in one of the actual books is enough for it to crash.

GA/EL need Elain to leave the night Court because they know she can't be kept in the same place as azriel because everyone knows elriel is canon and Elain almost climbed azriel like a tree when they were alone, while Az worshipped her like a damned goddess. With Lulu sleeping upstairs. That must have been like reading pure horror for GA/EL. I guess it makes sense they are grasping at straws. But the straws they are grasping at are laughable.

The whole “elain looks bad in black” arguement is so hilariously funny. That scene was clearly set up to make elain look unflattering when compared to Nesta - but antis hate the theory because they don’t believe Elain is capable of doing anything complex. They don’t want to acknowledge that Elain Archeron - the very character they call weak and boring- can pull of such a plan. That or they want to stick her to the whole “she’s a feminine girl who likes to throw balls and gardens” and not let her grow outside of that image (idk if that makes sense). Elain - who grew up as a socialite- would obviously have been taught by their mother what colours are flattering on her, the dress shape and size that suits her, which makeup would go with which look etc. She would have known she looked “washed” out in black. She would have known the dress was unflattering. Not only that, she had the twins, feyre, Mor etc all to tell her she looked terrible but no one did. The scene of Elain in Hewn, her dress specifically was described exactly as void fabric which we met in acofas with Feyre and? Elain Archeron. Besides all of that: They’d rather take Cassian’s opinion seriously instead of Elains own words. Which is kind of the point when it comes to Elains character how no one rlly takes her seriously or looks past the surface which her antis including elucien stans do. They take her character surface level when it suits them.

I’ve come across such BS takes, from Elain being a cheater, someone who self h4rms, evil, manipulater to elriel being toxic, rebounds etc but if I had to choose one for Elain and one for Elriel:

Elain: Eluciens calling Elain a cheater. When they started yapping about this, it confirmed for me that eluciens do not love Elain. Im not making the bold statement that “all eluciens hate elain” - that would be mean and immature of me. However, I am in the firm camp elucien Stans like elain but love Lucien more which is why they’re always coming up with HCs where elain is the bad guy that will grovel for Lucien.

Elriel: That Elain and Azriel’s relationship is not important and can be concluded within a paragraph as the bonus already ended elriel. This has to be the most biased take. Just because YOU do not like elriels dynamic and dismiss their scenes as unimportant doesn’t mean everyone else does. There is literally a reason why Sjm had Feyre - her main character- stare at Elriel and wonder why they’re not mates. I have seen an anti today talk about how the foreshadowing/buildup in acowar/acofas isn’t as important as acosf. That alone tells you everything you need to know. Antis will use Sjms words when it suits them and dismiss her words when it doesn’t. Also - ACOSF, where we learn that Az has moved on from Mor, is staying at H.O.W bcs of how strong he feels for elain, Nesta realising Az likes Elain, Elriel literally left off on a charged glance, Azriel being incorporated into the prison plot which we know will go to Elain etc. I think its just becoming clear that antis are grasping at straws to justify shipping Gwynriel/Elucien and “debunking” elriel.

No author ends a couple in a bonus. Sjm does not end her couples’ the way she ended elriel. I think as time is growing closer and especially now that we have an idea at which time the announcement will come - antis are rlly scrambling to proves their ships but its just looking ridiculous. When you’ve created a bubble for yourself filled with people in the same camp as you that will believe anything, it’s easier to remain in the bubble.

Their bubble is going to pop when Sjm announces it is in fact Elains book next.

another leading theory i see is that everything is a dramatization. i don't think this makes sense, however, because the lark are all canonically orphans. clémmie adopted (and then leaving said adopter), kingsley and perrine's situations both still being up in the air (besides kingsley being taken in by their aunt/uncle, and even that's a big maybe because the only thing i have to go off of for that is because they're *called* tita/uncle). so cole's parents are definitely no longer present, however that may be. this probably isn't much of an exaggeration.

THEORY 1: an unloved leveret left

so. cole "hid to be heard." the explanation of their eye color also references the importance of going unnoticed, remaining hidden. perhaps, the importance of staying small didn't come from outside the home, but from within. perhaps their dramatic streak isn't completely connected to their special interest in the storyteller. maybe, as a child, cole quite *literally* hid away, hoping for some sort of attention when they returned. except... it never came. it kept being silenced over and over until it just couldn't take it, and left. this has a little basis in the recent reel keath posted, where cole left "to be found and remembered anew," but this also sparked another idea, which is...

THEORY 2: redeemed rabbit (YES IK RABBITS AND HARES ARE DIFFERENT BUT I NEEDED THE ALLITERATION)

this has the same basic idea. cole ran away. *however,* what if cole was another one of those previously mentioned nuanced characters. what if cole said farewell to be remembered anew, because it needed to. its old image has been tarnished beyond repair, and they even needed to make a new identity to avoid being judged for their past ([farewells] to my name).

yet, in either case, whether they said farewell by their own choice or another's, it still haunts them. they are connected to the storyteller, and unlike the rest of the lark, who is connected to their harkers by fate, cole is intertwined by sheer adoration. for one reason or another, cole *chooses* to stay lost in the past. why? that's anyone's guess...

...or i'm overthinking it lol!

oh my sweet Gale

I will admit, the very first run through of this game i found Gale annoying, pushy, dumped trauma everywhere, narcissistic in his knowledge of magic, and the need to prove how right his in in the subject. I often found myself thinking and saying out loud "omg shut up"..... buuuuut... having romanced him...... i found that his personality traits are the exact same as someone born as a child prodigy, had his ego inflated, alienated by everyone around him, and made to think he was superior by someone higher up just to then land on his ass.

I wont go through what i think of his character development because each play through is different, and for each player its different... but this is what i think of him over all.

Gale doesn't know how to talk to people. He doesn't have social queues that almost everyone else picks up on. Gale has spent, up till the tadpole, the exception in a lot of the situations he was put into and thus it became his default personality. Yes, for those of us who have romanced him (keeps romancing him) we see someone haunted by their past choices and watch him grow. We see the nerd that he is, but this is more about the potential Gale before we meet him. So bare with me.

He was a child prodigy and put into a prestigious school where he flourished. I can only image how his professors loved him and his fellow students less than enthusiastic response. You know what happens when you become the teachers pet? You become ostracized by your fellow peers. You know what happens when you are really good at something that usually takes A LOT of practice for others? You either get used or don't make friends. Gale has had ONE story that involved other people and it didn't involve friends, he was at a bar and defused a brawl with ale. He has openly admitted to Tara being his only real friend.

Now this isn't to say Gale never had to work at his magic or arcane knowledge to get him to where he is in the game when he first meet him. He was an archmage and the chosen of Mystera, but his innate ability to wield it as a young boy is what got Mystera's attention. Gale has stated that she was his teacher first, then his muse and finally his lover. You can only imagine how special he felt when Mystera chose him to be his guiding hand..... and then to be a lover? I don't care who you are..... That shit would have to inflate your ego. That shit would make you feel like you were SOOO much better than your fellow peers. You would have those toxic thoughts and comments of "yeah, well Mystera chose me! So who needs friends/criticism/physical lovers/ect". What do you typically do when you catch the attention of someone you highly regard? You try to impress them and do what you can to be even more impressive! So Gale's ambition grew to newer heights. I cant imagine what Mystera poisoned his mind with while they were together. Like, i get she told him to just be content with the things were.... but come on Mystera... you couldn't have expected him to stop striving to be better with a simple "nah, you're cool how you are. you don't need to be my equal". Not when the poor man has spent the last 2 decades of his life striving to be the best. His most important years for growth and development have been spent on trying to impress others.

Gale learns of a way to possibly convince Mystera to allow him into her domain and it gets a carnivorous orb shoved into his chest, dumped, stripped of his titles and holed up in his tower without nary a reason why. That had to be the biggest blow he has ever received in his entire life. His act of what he believed to be a sure fire way into getting what he wanted ended up taking almost everything away from him. If it wasn't for Tara, i'm sure Waterdeep would have succumbed his to orbs blight. The man locked himself in his tower and turned away all his colleagues and family.

So imagine, you are this lonely person... squirreled away from others and any social interaction. No one to talk to except your pet *sorry Tara* and all of a sudden you find yourself on a ship.... with a parasite in your brain and then your thrust into an adventure with a bunch of strangers. You have this orb in your chest that could blow at any time and you cant really explain WHY you need magical items.... but that if you don't get them.... everyone is in trouble.... you find your group facing monsters and doing weird ass side quests.... and at any given opportunity, you like to drop a knowledge bomb on the group.... just to find that some of the group members don't like your input... or don't listen at all.. which doesn't sit well with you. You've been told how right you are for like... 20 years... You haven't been given many acts of kindness since becoming an adult, what with your abrasive "im more knowledgeable in everything and i've slept with a goddess" personality, so when you see your fearless leader doing something nice, you approve. You grown to trust this leader enough to tell them the truth.... knowing full well they may turn on you, but they don't! You continue to watch them, and share moments of magic with them, you fight along side them, and what is this? Are you starting to develop feelings for them? Are they reciprocating these feelings?

He gets a death sentence slapped on his back and these new budding feelings he has for you need to be made known. What better way than to show you how much you mean to him than to literally paint the sky in the weave for you. To take away the Shadow-lands curse and SHOW you something better. He thinks 'the most perfect night would have to be some place im comfortable and vulnerable.... so that i can SHOW them. This is me, Gale. This is my whole world and at the center of it, my very heart'. he is literally showing you who he is. he is this studious... lonely man.. who sits in front of his fire place reading and researching... or out on his terrace watching the sunset with a book. Like, do you accept this version of me that you have not seen yet? *Not to mention the weave/ astral projected 3 gale gang bang you get while spinning through the cosmos. He is such a show off... or he just isnt confident in his own physical/ mortal ability to woo and wow*

To watch Gale throughout my few play throughs grow as a person and learn that having to much ambition can oft lead to ruin... and watch him change to just be content with himself as he is... i get a lot of comfort from it. I haven't gone down the God route yet, nor have i tried to make him more villainous, but who knows lol.

I have a lot thoughts on pre-tadpoled Gale and how his life up to that point made him who he is when we are first introduced to him. Gale is definitely my comfort character.

Sorry for the rant... or maybe im not. Once again... these are my thoughts from my multiple play throughs.

cream unicorn/licorice, ill be honest i didnt finish last cookie standing and i dont remember much of it, but from what i know of these two, Cream Unicorn sees the good in everybody and Licorice has a lot of secrets and an inferiority complex. i think if anybody could get Licorice to open up and start feeling better about himself as a person, it'd probably be Cream Unicorn - i think they'd be able to encourage him to try his hand at pursuing magic academically, the way he wanted to originally. they'd be his biggest supporter... i think they'd be good for him

black raisin/clover, ohhh this could be cute as hell. they both love birds, and like, have you seen the way Clover attracts and interacts with the blueberry birds in his little decor? im imagining Clover finding a lost little raisin crow one day and helping it back to Black Raisin, and she's so thankful that her crow is okay... the crow telling her also how nice Clover was to it, so she just instantly trusts that Clover is a good guy and gets along with him... another thing to consider maybe is if you headcanon that they can both speak to birds maybe. they could def bond over that

black sapphire/crème brûlée, sounds SO interesting. i know Black Sapphire is a radio host, but i can 100% see him as a singer too. he takes very good care of his voice! i could see him needing a pianist to accompany him for a performance of some kind and meeting Crème Brûlée that way. they both take their performances VERY seriously, and while i could see some early tension between them (mostly from Crème Brûlée, who isn't quite sure what to make of this flamboyant performer and thinks he's probably some big-talking amateur who doesn't know what real musicality is), i think ultimately they end up really admiring the skill each other has.

black lemonade/street urchin, yes. Street Urchin definitely listens to SparkL and i think she really resonates with a lot of Black Lemonade's songs. i also kind of think it'd just be really funny if she had no idea what Black Lemonade looked like or what her name is, so she ends up meeting her favorite singer and becoming friends/flirting with her without even knowing that's who she is. i think Black Lemonade would see Street Urchin's bike and think that it's one of the coolest fucking things ever, holy shit, and they'd meet from that. they like each other's styles and think the other is really. really. really hot. (and when Street Urchin does find out who Black Lemonade is, she doesn't let it get in the way at all. punk girlfriends aughhhh).

black raisin/linzer, interesting! i'll admit i haven't read much agatha christie and i'm unfamiliar with miss marple, so im gonna say that Black Raisin probably has a lot of stories to tell, and Linzer loves a good source to use for inspiration. i think they'd meet when Linzer is probably poking around someplace she's not supposed to be in search of her next book inspiration, and Black Raisin happens to be on guard for whatever it is. Linzer thinks her crows are fascinating, and that's all it takes to get Black Raisin talking lmao. i think Linzer convinces her to meet up the next day for drinks or something so they can talk properly, and Black Raisin's so intrigued by this strange woman that she agrees.

clover/rockstar, another musician duo!!! their styles of music are so VASTLY different, but i think they'd have impromptu jam sessions that end up sounding surprisingly nice? (and by jam sessions, i mean Clover starts plucking out a melody he was thinking of, and Rockstar instantly jumps in on soft harmony with his guitar or starts humming along, making up words as he goes). Rockstar just feels like the type of musician to be able to adapt to any style of music he wants. he admires Clover's free spirit as a bard, and Clover admires Rockstar's tenacity; he's almost like the heroes Clover sings about, and he's clearly seen a lot of the world on his world tours. maybe it's Clover's turn to be told some stories, you know?

Tbh I'm not surprised ppl are spreading misinformation, when an entire characters reputation is just them being boringly cruel and biting people, most folk won't go on to read their stuff to really know if dude does or doesn't also eat people lol bc 1. They don't read point blank and 2. The misinformation is more in line with their version of the character in their head so it's bias taking over

in that specific case ur refering to, it was actually just another sabes fan, i dont think they really meant any harm ^^;

i get what u mean tho, in general a lotta xmen n wolverine fans only see him by his known rep, and ig thats more of the comics fault if anything. if u only read comics about ur favs, ur gonna have a skewed perception of other characters(like. my opinion of scott for example probably cant be trusted LOL)

the cannibal conversation also kinda ties into that, as different canons n different writers portray him with different traits. if u only read one run with him, ur gonna have an entirely different view than someone whos only read another

i can kinda give an example with comparing how hes written in Sabretooth Special 1995 vs the Weapon X 2002 era stuff by frank tieri-

in sabretooth special, his place is very neat n tidy(hell, he even tends to a lil bonsai tree!) to the point where the xmen are suspicious of it even being genuine.....the comic goes over how hes actually struggling with a lot of his violent urges, which if you'd read any of the previous basement arc comics, you'd know was the reason for him trying to get help from the xmen in the 1st place(and they obviously did a piss poor job at it, refusing to accept he wanted to change, so he spends this comic calling them out).

hes written as someone whos more than just his mistakes n violent outbursts. theres a version of him that people dont see, simply cuz theyre not around to see it. and even in the moments he tries to show them, tries to explain how much pain hes in, no one ever truly believes him.

meanwhile, frank tieri writes him as being everything people see him as and more-

hes the exact image of what general fans see when they think 'sabretooth'. hes done it all.

and i dont got shit against people who like that version but...imo, what makes his character interesting is that fact that him n wolverine could switch places at any moment if they were in reversed situations. theres already plenty of examples of sabretooth becoming the good guy the moment he gets offered the chance(inverted + age of apocalypse/exiles + xmen forever + many of the basement arc issues + xfactor being prime examples of that), and that chance is the only thing keeping wolverine as the good guy

(its also obviously due to wolverine visually appearing less threatening and passing less as an immediate mutant)

and the ironic part is that due to wolverine having more comics, hes arguably done more worse things than sabretooth over the years, just cuz of the variety of writers hes had. but his rep is that hes the good guy who does bad things

in turn, sabretooths character is that hes the bad guy who secretly good, but cuz of the curse of his rep and lack of comics, evil is all he gets labeled as.....

First, if you have any headcanons about Vesta and Strabo's relationship specifically pertaining to how Strabo's (terrible) relationship with his family manifests in his and Vesta's relationship. I think the dynamic you've created for Strabo's family is so interesting and I would love to know more.

Also, would love to hear some of your unpopular opinions about the Districts (just them in general, it can be anything district centric that you don't like... like I saw a post saying Boggs was a refugee from 11 to 13 and I CANT STAND that theory soooooo stuff along those lines)

Annnddd as for recs! I would highly recommend the Poppy War trilogy. I know you said you started reading and I really recommend finishing it! I loved it so so much (also if you have a favorite character I would LOVE to know who)

I'm soooo happy you like the things I do for strabo's family (specially bc I indeed have many thoughts abt them and want to maybe work more with them soon)!!!

about strabo and vesta, I think something very interesting happens to them, because vesta has her own family issues (her father is a dick to her and her sisters, and their dynamic is very dysfunctional), but vesta HATES her father. she dislikes him so so so much, he made her and her sisters feel like trash. so vesta simply can't get why strabo cares so much about his father. when they meet, the man have already died, and strabo lives alone, so I think only later on their relationship she would discover about everything that happened. and still, I think that at first, he just told her his father died, and she felt bad for him. but slowly strabo would tell the most HORRIFYING things about his childhood. and vesta genuinely doesn't get it. honestly, she can't get it, she can't get him, specially because I think strabo defends his father with tooth and nails. so when she tries to tell him that his father sucked, and what he went through was abuse (because as someone outside of the situation, and someone with a father that's an asshole, vesta could see how bad his situation was), it always leads to arguments because he starts to DEFEND his father and it drives her insane that he CAN'T even admit that that man hurt him so much. they ended up stopping to talk about the subject in general because of how much it stresses them both, and she knows she won't be able to change him regarding this. I also think she tried to at least convince him to go after the twins, to try to reconnect, but I think strabo is way too proud to try to go back to talk to them after everything he did and said (even if it hurts him sm to just think about them)

(on the other hand, I think it would be an even more interesting situation if we go by a scenario where his father didn't die and stayed alive... because the twins would definitely cut contact, but strabo wouldn't, and it drives her completely crazy. she just worries so so so much about him because it doesn't matter how much he tries to go by this cold image, she knows he cares, she knows he gets hurt, and the worst is that she knows he will keep coming back bc in the end the trauma bonding was just way too strong)

oh my god, abt the unpopular opinions on the districts (also NOT THAT THEORY ☠️☠️☠️ thg fandom always on the crime scene with the worst takes known to men):

this is something more recent that started to annoy me more with sotr, but it drives me insane how ppl started to portray D12 tributes as some sort of "chosen ones" because now apparently snow has a beef with the whole district (as if D12 didn't have plenty of issues already in tbosas). ofc lucy gray is covey, and her culture is covey and not district, but nobody in the fandom takes that into account and UGH it really annoys me so much the takes that surround this;

there are some districts that are so so so obvious that SC doesn't know what to do with, like D9, D5 and D6, and I feel a bit bad for them (D9 in specific is struggling so bad because there's NOTHING we know abt this district, NOTHING);

I already mentioned before, but she's so biased towards D4 that I'm actually surprised we didn't get a prequel set on it (god please don't manifest this);

the career districts are fascinating, but SC simply seems like she doesn't know what to do with them at all sometimes, and to me it got even more clear in sotr;

the districts and panem are so so so interesting, but I feel like SC is simply not the best at worldbuilding and it shows. whenever she has the opportunity to go deeper into worldbuilding a district or panem, she simply throws it away (tbosas was very interesting bc it expanded the capitol, and brought new informations abt D2, but otherwise I feel like she kinda doesn't care much abt the worldbuilding). also, I know I'm not expecting a writer of a YA book to be a master in urbanism, but it bothers me the lack of cities and divisions inside the districts. D12 is valid because it's so tiny, it's 10k people, but there are others that are simply too hard for me to imagine how they would work in the same model.

abt the rec, omg grace I was lovinggggg the first book!! 🥺 I think i stopped around page 150 (I think after rin had a talk with the strategy master), but I paused it to read sotr and that book made me so annoyed and upset I have been struggling a bit to pick it back, but I promise I will because it was so interesting and well written!!! (I was having so much fun at the start bc the exam rin went through reminded me of the same one I had to go through to get into public uni, so 😔) I'm still at the start, but currently I LOVE kitay (my SON, he's such a cutie), i'm extremely curious about altan because everything surrounding him is such a mystery and so interesting (tho since he didn't appear much, I don't have really an opinion formed yet) and LOVEEEE RIN SO MUCH! I love her as a protagonist <33

it’s more h*zbin bitching on my part lmao…. it’s annoying and tiring for me too but i cant keep my mouth shut, & this is better than just saying more shit on twitter where readmores dont exist and beef will DEFINITELY happen

the thing in the background is so visually confusing, it’s the same saturation and in some cases the same colors as the foreground characters, so in many areas it’s hard to see what’s even going on. plus there’s that bright green eye at the top (and bright green flames at the very bottom-center, which you can only see in the Chaggie/Angel one) which makes things even more confusing esp. in the last one where the only other two bright green things are the candy and Niffty’s collar, which dont have any particular reason to stand out so much, but your eye gets drawn immediately to those three things

the character groups make sense for the Vee’s and Alastor/Niffty/Husk but the other two don’t. Chaggie sure, but then, random Angel? i mean i guess, but he doesn’t have an especially close relationship with them. and Pentious/Cherri makes sense but then completely random Lucifer?? he definitely has no special relationship with either of them. It would make a lot more sense if you just swapped Angel & Lucifer - put Angel with his BFF & put Lucifer with his daughter and as-of-now-future-daughter-in-law.

what is Angel Dust supposed to be…? i cant really tell with Valentino but it sorta feels like i’m not supposed to, like he’s just wearing generic “slutty halloween” geddup, which tracks for his character. but Angel has what look to be either bear ears or mouse ears, and he’s holding a nondescript teeny-tiny yellow shape that blends in with that fucking background…….. aaaaand as i was writing this i saw the tail. he’s a mouse. i thought the shape was like, a teddy graham and he was a bear. maybe make the cheese a little bigger, or at least the tail? just enough so they’re as visually clear as the ears???

i know i kind of already said this w/ the background thing & this is a common complaint of the show overall but it bears repeating….. the characters’ designs and colors make group shots with them so hard to visually interpret, just in general. everything is a big clump of competing colors that are all super bright, there’s very little to help the eye separate the characters from each other, or from the background elements. the center areas of the Pentious/Cherri/Lucifer design and the Alastor/Niffty/Husk design, in particular, give me a headache with how confusing they are (Husk’s eyebrow on the left absolutely looks like it’s supposed to be Alastor’s index finger pointing, with his palm upturned, does it not? just one example)
