The prince and his Physician. A role-reversal au based on a dream I had that I wanted to draw something for. More ramblings under the cut

In this au, there is a kingdom of men where the briar valley once stood. Silver, the heir to this kingdom, has been the only member of the royal family for centuries, the result of a curse that causes him to die before he's old enough to ascend to the throne and reincarnate days after his passing. Silver's immortality was once a symbols for the kingdom's permanence, but the repeated death of their monarch every two decades or so has left the citizens with perpetual, generational sorrow with seemingly no solution as no one besides Silver was alive when the curse was placed.

A few centuries after Silver was born and it was believed the last full-blooded fae in briar valley had either abandoned the land or died, a draconian fae child is found in the brambles. This fae, given the name Malleus, was brought to the kingdom at the request if the prince and raised as part of the royal court with the express purpose of becoming the royal physician/chemist. It is believed that Silver's curse, as everlasting as it seems, was placed on him by a fae with extreme magical prowess and if anyone has a chance of breaking it, it's another fae. The kingdom believes that Malleus will be able to break the death curse and allow Silver to become their immortal king.

However, Silver has other plans for his chemist. From an early age, Silver requested that Malleus use his talents to find a different kind of solution to his curse that he can never tell anyone. He wants Malleus to find a way to stop his reincarnations entirely and let him unburden his people with the monarchy. Whether to fulfill the request of the kingdom he calls home, or the prince that took him in is in Malleus' hands.

Natsuo headcanons because I’m obsessed with that man and he needs more simps. Seriously, criminally underrated.

His quirk is actually really powerful, but he tones it down purposefully . He always knew the pro hero gig wasn’t for him, and Enji would’ve 100% trained him like Touya if he was aware.

His father wants a soldier, and he wants to make snow angels with his brother.

Consequently, this just contributes to the layers of regret and self-loathing he continuously harvests.

Shouto would let him hatch his muscle groups with red liner so he’d memorize them better! (And if this is just his way for checking and treating injuries his stupid baby brother won’t mention, that’s for him to know.)

Shouto’s favorite season is fall, but one of his most beloved activities in winter is building snowmen. Whenever he’d have a bad day, Natsuo would just. Make it snow in his room.

“Don’t tell the old bastard thought, okay?” “Oki. Is it because of a deep rooted sense of rebellion that you KNOW won’t bring you any permanent satisfaction, but you must get it done either way?”

“…Uh. Yeah?”

“Hm.”

Imagine being Enji, dragging yourself home at 6 in the morning, fighting a villain all night, and your 12 year old walks up to you (Natsuo has been playing video games all night and is only now going to sleep)

, “You look like shit.” Natsuo states.

“I feel like it. Why aren’t you in be—“

“Shouto’s autistic, by the way.”

Enji has been frozen in place for 2 hours.

Thought this is the same man who didn’t know Natsuo had ADHD. Is he surprised? At this point, no.

Was the one who found Shouto after the hot water incident. Not only did he have try and pacify Shouto’s wounds, but try to calm down Rei as well.

“Mom— listen to me — mom let him go, it hurts him right now— mom— REI!”

She only stops when he speaks like Enji. It makes him bitter.

“You’ve done enough.”

Did not go to Touya’s funeral. Brothers weren’t made for coffins. Especially not his, especially not that small.

Told Enji, “You’re a great hero. But you’ll never be a good man.” And it stuck to him since.

i fucking love my brother. i love how we've drifted apart in terms of interests but are still so close together. he likes all of these different things. his favorite color is either orange or purple (or lime green). his favorite show is ongezellig. he likes fashion and graffiti and vaping and making fun of the french language while still speaking it better than i do and giving teachers strange names and nettspend's music and playing valorant or cs2 or overwatch or anything else he's taken up recently. he has lots of friends at school but does poorly in classes. it's not his fault. he doesn't ever feel rewarded when he finishes his assignments so he never does. i feel like i hardly ever see him to the point where i forget what he looks like (but then again, i don't really remember what anyone looks like; i don't see pictures inside my head) but we're still so close and that makes me happy. Vrains was iconic for including two sibling characters, each of whom's character arcs revolved around protecting the other, who we get shown numerous childhood flashbacks of and basically their entire story of growing up together, only for one minor villain near the end of the show to reveal they're adoptive siblings and try to use that information to pit them against each other. And the sister just goes "Yeah, so?" and does a kickflip on his face and it never comes up again.

Picking out the photo and sending it to the prospective little bro so they could find each other in the courtyard he couldn’t wait to meet the guy. His own big bro had changed his life so much and made him into the man he was.

He couldn’t wait to meet and mold his own little bro. They’d already had plans for a workout and he knew he’d be able to use his charm, his muscles, his voice, to talk his new bro into coming back to the house with him.

By the time they got back from break his bro would be a new man, his new man.
