Happy Halloween and Wei Wuxian day!
#better drawn mdzs#mdzs#wei wuxian#lan wangji#digital art#I'm trying to practice digital art more - initially wasn't going to draw anything for today....I simply couldn't rest until I *did*.#I'm starting to get the hang of it !#I find traditional *much* easier especially with colouring. It still feels very...off to me.#The noise filter helps retain some of the texture I find digital lacks! More experimentation needed though.#Original draft for their costumes was 'Groom of Hanguang-jun' and 'Bride of The Yiling Lazou'.#Y'know; like those 'bride of Frankenstein' and 'Frankenstein's monster' sort of couple costumes.#Their costumes now are 'Well educated lady with land someone wants (and it's the 1600s)' and 'Werebunny'.#Every costume wwx ever puts on has a full backstory and lore to it. Even if its just a hat and fake mustache.#Okay I'm on break NOW. I will return when my long comic is done.

#not a perfect return to posting art#but fuck if my pettiness isn't a great driving force#lol about what snack??#some ole bullshit i saw on the whassit... insta or twitter#one of those two where “FaNs” go to pretend they got no fucking manners#oOoOh you're a this that whatever artist because look you draw like this one OoOoh#fuck outa here#literally I'm gonna post going through my whole goddamn style rolodex#also?#personal art style is not as big a deal as some of these new/young artists think it is#like maybe in commercial or children's book illustration#since they look for a specific vibe#and you're doing yourself an artistic disservice by focusing so much on “creating a personal style”#and this weird fucking self-imposed boundary of like appreciating how an artist renders this or that aspect of their drawing#because they think the plagiarism police are gonna SWAT them#like... it's pretty and you like it bcoz it speaks to you so#fucking just#try it out#try out that type of line weight#try out that color palette#try out that way of lighting a person or a scene#try it#listen everyone is out here being an aesthetic frankenstein's monster#the minute you try out xyz in your art it becomes “your style” because how you interpret it replicate it will be#influenced (altered you could say) by how you draw#unless your ass getting paid to draw on model or your art lead's style or you wanna get on a show/game so you're cobbling a quick portfolio#but that's not this#also lol next mutation still got fans#my childhood nostalgia says hello#tw eyestrain

outsider pov was severely underutilized in spn like it's actually criminal the more you think abt it
#we get a few outside pov episodes but babes that's like giving a man two drops of water in a desert#you could probably say smth abt the correlation btwn spn's slow separation from gothic horror into a more sanitized version of itself#with their decision not to lean into their own protagonists weirdness and weirdness abt each other#via depicting them as firmly offputting when viewed at through an outside lens#ouroborous thy name is sam and dean winchester#not sure if i articulated this quite how i wanted but yeah#feel like they kinda talk abt it in the later seasons but the tone fluctuates instead of staying consistently disturbing with it#but maybe that's just the gothic horror girlie in me wanting more from a show that at the end of the day still had to air on cw#smth smth post-apocalypse samdean as frankenstein's monster#sam's s8 relationship w amelia paralleled with the creature's desire for a perfect mate in the absence of his actual true partner#aka dean who was stuck in purgatory and adding a new layer to sam's desire for intimacy#amelia as the theoretical perfect wife who's never realized bc the creature's other half returns#does this make sense idk anymore i need to nap#nothing to see here just my sleep-deprived ramblings into the aether#spn#supernatural#sam winchester#dean winchester#samdean#gencest#weirdcest#wincest#spn rewatch
