A Rochelle-Centric Coraline AU was what i wanted to see, so i became the change i wanted to see in the world.

My extra thoughts under the cut! :D

I got super fucking invested in the idea of a Rochelle-centric Coraline AU for like, a week straight, aandd made a lot of little sketches and notes on it. I think what made the concept so appealing to me is that it would be such a spooky and intriguing character exploration of my favorite win or lose character.

Seeing how she navigates a lonely new neighborhood. How she takes up so many responsibilities all on her own, and insists upon doing so. The way she interacts and gets attached to the whimsical perfect world behind the little door.

Holding onto it as if it were the only place in her life where she can be a kid who has it easy. who gets what she wants. and who didn't have to be so entrenched in financial burden and emotional unavailability...

Warhrghghh also i just really fucking like coraline and spookiness in general :3

The broad strokes of the plot are pretty much the same as Coraline, only with a few new themes and roles introduced into the mix.

Perhaps i will share those ideas and characters to the world when i've drawn them down. I'll share them along with the Other World Counterparts of the rest of the huge cast! :D Cause boy do i HAVE ideas! i'm ready to cut open just how exactly Rochelle perceives her newfound peers in the real world, and their distorted, "perfected" button-eyed forms The Other Vanessa has sewn up for her!

SAMEEE I LOVE THEM SMMM!! tbh i love them more than life atp because i think i have over 50 drawings of them (doodles) i also love angst but where the story was headed in the ask blog was getting a little intense for me and kidney. SO WE WILL TRY TO STICK TO FLUFF and making frank miserable.

OKAY I WILL GIVE SOME HEADCANNONS. I believe that Francis makes up a bunch of nicknames for Frank like constantly. But Frankie-poo is his favorite some nicknames i think Francis would call frank puppy. (or sad puppy. if yk yk) biscuit - bc frank is a biscuit. Frankie-poo -(this one is obvious) Frankie- when he wants to get serious. THERE IS MORE BUT KIDNEY KNOWS BETTER. (It is literally Francis)

Francis squishes franks face when Frank is stressed. (i feel like they were doing this gay shit before they were in a relationship too.)

I also hc Francis bites frank (not hard) bc he gets cuteness aggression. frank dose not love this. (I feel like Francis has been doing this to Francis since middle school.)

THEY TAKE BATHS/SHOWERS TOGETHER. i feel like they have been doing this for along time to bro especially when frank just broke up with Vanessa. i feel like Frank was so depressed he wasn't eating or bathing. Francis had to help him out of it. now that there together frank is just clung to Francis. (he still has mental breakdowns but that's what i love about him)

THEY SNUGGLE like 24/7 (i feel like frank doesn't really like being touched like at all especially if he's not the one that chose to be touched. so Francis asks frank if he wants to snuggle (every time) and every time it is yes. i feel like Francis would rub up on frank and sit on franks lap and frank would just melt i feel like frank is a big crier so he probably cry's because he loves Francis so much. also frank i feel like when he wants privacy he gets more silent and dissociated, and Francis sees his armor witch he quickly pulls frank close and frank starts sobbing in Francis's lap. Frank gets overwhelmed so easily.

FRANK READS TO FRANCIS. this one is just a given at this point frank reads to his partners.

Francis when frank gets defensive calls him a "grumpy little baby" usually that catches frank off-guard and he gets annoyed.

neither one of the darlings can catch a break

don’t hate me but with how clumsy laurie is, she would get caught and taken to the refuge oops…

mix of jack and crutchie’s friendship and laurie and yuwen’s… yuwen is no where near as mean, but there is still that teasing in a sibling way

davey: taylor

in this au it’s either no romance or it’s like javid… or better yet, it’s like sarah jacobs and jack kelly in 1992sies

has davey’s act two sass the whole time (i love sassy davey, when i played him, i made sure it was there)

les: ira

imaginative little brother with a three letter name? well YES 💜

literally nothing has change between the davey and les sibling vibe and taylor and ira, it’s so perfect how similar they are

im thinking bleacher creatures for weasel and the delancey bros, which makes the seize the day fight kinda sad

katherine “plumber”: kai

not jatherine, just like bffs with jack kelly/yuwen

both girl bosses who encourage others when they need it most

im making james pulitzer which makes this even more perfect

both sassy comeback icons, kony is her jam

shes a little more mature than race in this au

i can’t explain this to well, it just fits

spot conlon: probably odo (juice boy) or martin (the tot’s catcher)

it’s just silly to me

martin has the red and is an icon for his limited screentime

odo kinda scares everyone who talks to him, which adds to the mystery of spot

pulitzer: james

first he tries to steal the softball team and now this, mr James is on a mission to ruin someone’s day
