I don’t think Tashi’s look of disgust when Art kisses her knee is actually about him. It’s at herself. Their dynamic is so entirely shaped by power, by the fact that Art is lesser than her. She’s better at tennis, better at keeping her control, better at getting Patrick to fall into her bed. It’s the uncaring idol and the tortured devotee. Hell, it’s outright stated; she asks “what am I, Jesus?” and he says “yes” like it’s obvious. Even the way they sit in that scene shows how Tashi is a religion to him, kissing and bowed over her lap like in prayer. Which is why, to a woman who buys into that dynamic, who also thinks of herself as God to Art’s worshipper, it’s so disgusting that she truly does love him. Tashi adores him. Not even close to as much as she adores tennis, but she does. Right after that scene she goes and asks Patrick to throw the match - because if Art loses, she leaves him. And she doesn’t want to have to leave him. It goes against what she knows. God is not supposed to make sacrifices for mere mortals. Achilles is not meant to swoon at the soft weakness of his heel. But here she is, seeing the chip in her armour and thinking it lovely anyway. Hence the look.

okay so like in me and my fazgang’s interpretation of hms, Heart is an absolute menace and there’s so much that I could share about it because I find it so funny. they’re just stupid siblings (when they’re both experiencing the horrors, of course!).

he grabs Soul by one or two of his horns and holds him like a spring catch. Heart and his big fish he’s very proud of catching. he’s got that fisherman smile when he’s caught Soul. he’s also attempted to steer Soul around like a bull at least once (only for Soul to start wiggling violently).

most of his terrorising is playfully directed towards Soul because it usually ends up in girlfights with Mind. they’re vicious! godzilla vs kong type behaviour!! their catfights would do numbers on the early days of YouTube!

he’s also inspired by cockatoos so… that alone should say a lot about him. he screams when he’s bored. or he sings just to be annoying. I’m realll fond of him. I should post about him more often

maybe it’s because i have the “Happy Birthday, Nahida” music stuck in my head, but-

the Fatui finding out about Childe’s Foul Legacy and immediately taking advantage of it. using the energy from the transformation to power machinery, forcing Childe to stay in the form for long periods of time to train him more, make him an even better fighter, and if he doesn’t comply, they “discipline” him. he doesn’t remember it when the transformation finally gives out- Il Dottore made sure of that- but Foul Legacy begins slipping beyond his control, becoming guarded and frightened, lashing out at the smallest things, which is exactly what the Fatui want. and Childe himself feels dull, emotions deadened and hollow as the upper Harbingers wave away his questions.

Foul Legacy will become a weapon of war, even if they have to erase “Tartaglia” entirely.

eventually Childe finds it difficult to differentiate between himself and his Foul Legacy form- day by day he loses more control over it, glancing down to find his hands suddenly transformed into claws or his mouth filled with sharp fangs, until one day the human Childe is lost, and only Foul Legacy remains. the Harbinger Tartaglia becomes buried, any mentions of him scraped away or excused with him being killed in action. Foul Legacy becomes the Fatui’s trump card- a cold, emotionless beast that obeys only the Tsaritsa and the Harbingers, staying sealed in a cage when not “operational” while Tartaglia, Childe, and Ajax are lost to time.

Foul Legacy as the Fatui’s first and best Abyssal weapon.

The Wish Upon a Star event thingie has convinced me that Malleus and Idia could possibly be good friends. The mental image of them bonding through playing with Roaring Dragos is too cute. Imagine with me okay? At first it’s sort of awkward. Neither really know how to interact with the other. Idia’s only there because Ortho made him drop off the little toy himself and he couldn’t resist the nostalgia of playing a little game from his childhood. Pet playdates (digitalized dragons or no), however, have a way of making their owners bond. Think of the joy they can share every time their little dragon does something cute. Think of it. Cute pet joy is universal and crosses all bounds.

Also, Idia uses Malleus as his scary dog privileges. Going out to prove he in fact CAN touch grass? So much easier now that he has a tall, horned (surprisingly misunderstood like him) fae to ward off any SSR troublemakers. Poggers.

So... The Marble Nest huh.

I finally played it myself and even though I knew the plot already it was still just. Fucking hell. The inevibitality of it all. The constant reminders that it's all happening in your head. And the idea of trapping a soul inside a nutshell? One of the most poetic concepts I have ever heard of. It actually reminded me of a polish sung poem by the lyrical cabaret Piwnica pod Baranami, titled "Ta nasza młodość" (eng.: This youth of ours).
