STACKED100 - JULY POST

what is stacked100?

It’s something I thought up, inspired in part by “stackednatural”, but mostly by myself doing this with The Vampire Diaries this last year (see my #stackediaries tag). The gist of it is that you watch each episode of the show on the anniversary of their airing date. It “officially” started in October (with only two episodes) and it would end in September 2024. You can see the full schedule here.

Whatever the hell you want lmao. Tag whatever post you make #stacked100 and go for it! Gifsets, live blogging, discussions… engage with other people as much or as little as you want. Watch some episodes and not others, for any reason. I’m doing this to have some fun with this VERY polarizing show, seeing how my perspective might be changed with hindsight + this specific way of watching it, and a bit because I miss my little corner of this messy as fuck fandom. But this is something you can do in whichever manner works for you, mate.

July 1st. Season 7 episode 7, “The Queen's Gambit”. Emori tries to heal Sanctum's old familial wounds while Echo, Octavia and Diyoza struggle with new ones.

July 8th. Season 7 episode 8, “Anaconda”. Clarke confronts a new adversary. A surprising connection takes us back to the past and the nuclear apocalypse that destroyed the Earth.

July 9th. Season 6 episode 9, “What You Take with You”. Bellamy must venture into enemy territory with an unlikely companion. Meanwhile, Octavia is forced to confront her past.

July 10th. Season 5 episode 9, “Sic Sempter Tyrannis”. The growing fractures in Wonkru threaten to explode once and for all. Meanwhile, in Shadow Valley, Murphy starts a fire, unleashing catastrophic results.

July 15th. Season 7 episode 9, “The Flock”. Murphy and Indra must defuse a tense situation. Meanwhile, old friends make new allegiances.

July 16th. Season 6 episode 10, “Matryoshka”. Russell seeks justice. Meanwhile, Gabriel must make a difficult choice. Lastly, the Blake siblings reunite.

July 17th. Season 5 episode 10, “The Warriors Will”. Monty strives to show Wonkru an alternative to war, and to the valley itself. Meanwhile, Abby's health continues to deteriorate, along with McCreary's patience.

July 23rd. Season 6 episode 11, “Ashes to Ashes”. Bellamy and Octavia must put aside any differences and work together to save their friends. Meanwhile, Echo confronts her past.

July 24th. Season 5 episode 11, “The Dark Year”. As Clarke races to save Abby, she learns more about the trials and tribulations Wonkru faced in the bunker, and the impossible decisions they were forced to make in the dark year.

July 30th. Season 6 episode 12, “Adjustment Protocol”. A special Naming Day changes everything in Sanctum. Gabriel comes face to face with an old friend.

July 31st. Season 5 episode 12, “Damocles: Part One”. In part one of the fifth season finale, Octavia leads her people into war. While behind enemy lines, our heroes must overcome their differences to save Wonkru from extinction.

Your favourite snack to watch rugby? I don’t have a go-to tbf, but todays was leftovers from a bbq

Your favourite drink to watch rugby? Depends on how the game is going, I’d say water but that usually transfers into needing something alcoholic 🥴 which would be gin or beer!

The team you will pick if you had to switch your fav team? Country wise it would be NZ considering I’m just as much a kiwi as I am English! Otherwise my second team will always be wherever George is 😅

Your favourite logo/badge (rwc teams)? Probably the All Blacks, I love the simplicity of the fern

Your least favourite player? I have a long list lol, some for good reasons, some for stupid reasons like Faf de Klerk who’s face is enough to annoy me 😂

Your favourite jersey from a rwc team? I hadn’t looked at kits for the World Cup but scrolling through the website now it’s probably the Fijian away kits! I’d normally say the All Blacks but I do not like the strange looking ferns they’ve got going on

Your favourite kit from your team, away or home? Don’t really like either of Leicester’s kits this year lol, and for England I prefer home

Player you are curious about and have a new interest in? Hmm can’t think of someone off the top of my head, but that will probably change as the World Cup goes on!

Fav female team? Looking forward to seeing how the Leicester ladies go in their first year in the 15’s!

Your favourite moment: warm up / match / aftermath / other... Obviously I love all of it, but I particularly love watching the warm ups and all the players little routines

Your dream match? Honestly at this moment in time the dream is just to see England play a decent match, and hopefully win at the end of it

Your favourite retired player? Hmm don’t know about a favourite, but I think Ugo Monye is pretty great, and I enjoy listening to Sam Warburton in commentary

Your current fav ref? Lol this changes every match depending on whether I agree with their decisions or not 😂

Your favourite nickname for a player? My dad and I have a lottt of completely random nicknames we’ve created over the years!! Off the top of my head because they were playing today, Jalibert has been referred to as ‘jellybelly’ from the first time we saw him play, and Itoje has been ‘emoji’ from dad mishearing the commentators the first time he saw him! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Your favourite thing about rugby? Hard to pick just one thing! I love the atmosphere when I get to see a match live, the runaway tries, when George makes other players look like idiots, the friendships it’s given me, and way it brings people together - I’ve never been to a game where I don’t end up chatting to people around me, or to strangers in pubs in Aus while watching league! And obviously my team winning lol
