Spooky day is just around the corner and with it the new expansion pack, so I though, why not celebrate this exciting month of October with a little cas challange!

Introducing Occultober , where -you guessed it- every day is a different occult!

Need I say more? I put together a callendar counting down to October 31st, filled with occults, both in-game and made up, to inspire you to create some ~spooky~ sims. Whether you go the full occult route, or design some costumes, go crazy with packs and cc, or challenge yourself and stick with only basegame (mad respect, I could never), it's all up to you! The only limit is your own creativity! and perhaps computer specs in some cases...

If you don't feel like committing to the full month, I highlighted a couple of the most basic occults which we already have packs for. Siren- IL mermaids, android- DU servos, witch- RoM spellcasters and vampire and werewolf are pretty self explanatory. Including the Grim Reaper, you can do one week instead, if you have the noncommittal trait!

Again, you don't actually need any of the packs, just be creative and have fun! Be sure to share your sims on the gallery and on tumblr using the #occultober hashtag!

Day Three of The Thirteen Days of Occultober

The Hostess House, Marion, Indiana

On October 21, 1978, seventy-four year old Jessie Saul, a receptionist who was living at the Hostess House, was brutally murdered by Joseph Allen Sandoval. Sandoval had been celebrating his twenty-first birthday at the Swing Bar when a fight broke out. Walking home with a bloody nose, he decided to clean himself up by breaking into the Hostess House where he confronted Mrs. Saul. What followed sent shock-waves through the community.

The Hostess House does not allow paranormal investigations, but intrepid adventurers such as myself have made a habit of visiting the estate during public events and open houses.

The Hostess House was built in 1912 as a wedding gift for Lillian “Peggy” Wilson, who was widowed not long after, at the age of twenty-nine. The home is a beautiful combination of Colonial and Georgian Revival architecture, but its rich history of torrid love affairs and homicide casts a lingering shadow over the manse.

Tales of a ghostly apparition on the second floor are the stuff of local legend. Some believe it to be the ghost of the unfortunate victim, while others cling to the romance of Mrs. Wilson still clinging to her wedding gift.

I have never caught sight of the apparition itself, but I have experienced cold spots and communed with spirits with divining rods, but not to the extent that I can say for certain who haunts the Hostess House, but haunted it assuredly is.
