Is ford conscious enough to have opinions on Mabel? In your rewired au

Ford is conscious! The whole “lobotomy” thing is more meant to be a joke. He’s actually very similar to his canon self, except that he’s riddled with guilt and shame and despair and when he smiles the light never really seems to reach his eyes. He spends a lot of his time appearing catatonic, staring through windows or at walls, seemingly deep in thought but who’s to say?

Ford believes “mabel” has been fully destroyed. Ford blames himself for that. All that’s left of her, “shooting star”, isn’t who she was. Although occasionally shooting star will do something so similar to mabel that it’ll give him a glimmer of hope that there would be someway to get mabel back, that hope is pretty much immediately quashed by the reality of the situation. Ford doesn’t hold the things shooting star does against her because ultimately he thinks he’s the one to blame for the way she is.

Sometimes Ford is afraid of her.

Bill shape shifting into a hot human is nice and all but personally I like to believe Ford wanted that triangle.

Like he's never seen Bill as a human and just went and fell in love with a yellow 2D triangle with arms and legs, a top hat and a cane. I see the flirtatious banter Ford you can't hide from me.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bill did shift into a human infront of him but Ford was all "Nah human form doesn't suit you Bill Cipher I want you as you are".

Throwing my humanoid Bill design into the ring. Stanford is Not Amused. (Please click for better quality. Damn you tumblr for compressing my work!)

Some thought processes:

- wanted to play on a fire and energy motif (being of pure energy as Bill would say), with some gold and space thrown in

- doing this design was basically playing How Many Triangles Can I Fit Into One Design. Answer? Quite a bit.

- It was all about the Whimsy.

- This guy was supposed to look both friendly but also relatively uncanny with the limbs, shifting proportion a lot (I had Michael Distortion in my head, sorry.)

- mask inspired by the comedy mask (will come into play when I construct my One of Us AU, ahem). Mouth supposed to remain static. However, in times when Bill stops acting and starts getting genuine, it will move. Yes, the eye remains the mouth.

- starscape on cape isn’t stitched on – it literally is just space. If I animate it, it’s gonna remain static while the cape moves.

- eye at the centre of fire that is half-covered by mask is Bill’s all-seeing eye. It’s also a tell that gives him away easily since it looks around at where he really is paying attention to.
