Just chiming in as someone who works in theater. You actually wouldn't have to do that much crazy cross casting to do Warriors on stage. There are only 19 non-Warrior speaking roles. It's actually not that unreasonable to cast a 19 person ensemble and give them each a speaking role, and then just have them play background gang members in every other scene. The fewest i could see doing it with is 10 and double casting them, but that's pushing it bc there are 8 Warriors and it stops being believable that they're actually outnumbered. The single biggest issue I can actually see with doing this show is quick changes and costuming. But a total cast of 30 for a musical is really not that many.

Now that Ghibli's new movie is coming out soon, I've been thinking about anime films and wanna talk about my favorite animated movie ever, Tokyo Godfathers.

TG is a 2003 tragicomedy by Satoshi Kon, following three unhoused people––an alcoholic, a runaway girl, an a trans woman––who find a baby in a dumpster and set off across Tokyo to reunite her with her parents.

If you like the sound of that, go watch it because the rest of this post is spoilers and I have FEELINGS about this movie.

URGHH, the fact that only two moments of true kindness, generosity, and care given to the three protagonists without any expectation of reciprocity are given by a Latin-American immigrant couple and a drag club full of queens and trans women. The fact that, despite her loud and dramatic personality, Hana is the glue that holds the team together and the heart of the whole movie. The fact that this movie pulls no punches at showing the violence and inhumanity committed by "civilized Japanese society" against the unhoused. The fact that Miyuki craves to be loved by her parents and ends up seeing Hana as her true mother. The fact that Miyuki starts off accidentally using transphobic language against Hana, but slowly begins calling her "Miss Hana" out of respect. The fact that, according to Kon, Hana's role in the story is as a mythological trickster god and "disturb the morality and order of society, but also play a role in revitalizing culture." The fact that Hana so desperately wants to be part of a true family, yet is willing to sacrifice her found family so they can be with their own, and is rewarded for her good deeds in the end by becoming a godmother. The fact that, throughout the movie, wind and light have been used to signify the presence of god's hand/influence (this movie's about nondenominational faith––faith in yourself, faith in others, faith in a higher power. Lots of religious are referenced, such as Buddhism/Hinduism, Christianity, and Shintoism), and in the climax of the film, as Hana jumps off a building to save a baby that isn't hers, a gust of wind and a shower of light save her from death. The fact that god saves a trans woman's life because she proved herself a mother, and that shit makes me CRY.

“You got your hair done ?” his biceps leaned against the door frame, he was just admiring as you sat in your chair staring into the vanity.

“Mhm” you softly smile as you brush your eyebrows before looking for your lip pencil.

There was a moment of silence, it was just him in awe of you. There was nothing Bakugou loved more than when you got your hair done. Braids, locs, trying new wigs too, all of it, he loved it.

This time you had knotless goddess braids, butt length, and God was he losing it watching the way the braids sat so pretty against your melanin skin in that tight black dress. Every part of you he needed and craved.

You smiled seeing how your lip gloss came out, you placed your products away neatly before getting your and pushing your chair in and grabbing your hand bag.

“Leaving ?” You could hear the desperation in his voice, the want to hear you say “no I can stay”

You gently slipped your feet into your heels before stepping into them and standing to get a feel.

“We probably won’t be out long either since Kirishima had a little ‘gift’ for her later” you smirked knowing exactly what he meant.

Bakugou groaned.

You walked over to him and placed your hand on his chest before cupping his face with your hand and giving him a kiss to his right cheek. Your lip gloss leaving a tinted stain that you knew he wouldn’t mind.

You look up at him and softly smile

“Promise to come back as soon as I can so I can cuddle you and give you all my attention.”

He huffed and looked away, knowing that was exactly what he wanted.

You stepped beside him and began walking out of the door before pausing and turning back, seeing him take a couple steps to you before pausing and taking in your figure.

“If you’re still up I can give you my own little gift too.”

He smirked at the idea he was getting and you were implying.

“Oh yeah ?”

“Mhm”

You turned back towards him and smiled, he was going to walk towards you until you placed your hand up as if you were signaling him to stop.

“By the way..”

You slightly lifted up your dress, enough for him to raise his eyebrows in surprise.

“Im going commando.”

(Mina didn’t even bother questioning the fresh hickey on your chest when you arrived THIRTY minutes late)
