my psych was telling me how it might be better for my mental health to adopt pets with longer lifespans, n I was like, yeah, okay, I already have a cat, probly gonna stick with cats, that makes sense- and then she follows it up with, "like parrots! have you considered a bird? some parrots live to be 80 years old!" and I was. when I say I was speechless
