With the publication of “In Order to Live” — a collaboration with Maryanne Vollers, a veteran ghostwriter for Billie Jean King, Hillary Clinton and Ashley Judd — Park began presenting a far more harrowing description of her North Korean life than she had shared with her South Korean TV fans. In U.S. media appearances and her book, Park portrayed a childhood in which dead bodies were a frequent specter. In one particularly grotesque image, she described seeing starving children forced to eat rats, only to die because the rats were poisoned. Then, other rats devoured their corpses. Experts on North Korea took note of the strikingly different bio that emerged when Park moved from reality TV to the international human rights conference circuit. Her “Paris Hilton” character was nowhere in this story. Park claimed that she never encountered eggs or indoor toilets until she left North Korea, that she resorted to eating grass and dragonflies to survive. “She once presented herself as a top 1 percent North Korea elite, so she didn’t see any hunger or malnutrition when she was living there,” Song said. “She totally flipped the narrative when she was on to these conferences.” ChristineHong, a literature professor at the University of California at Santa Cruz and a board member at the Korea Policy Institute who has studied defector narratives, noted that Park’s new account didn’t even jibe with her mother’s stories of ready access to food and luxuries. (In one “Now On My Way to Meet You” appearance, the mother explained that Park couldn’t comprehend that her less privileged co-stars came from the same country that she did.) “But no one seems to care,” Hong told The Post. “And the reason that no one seems to care is that, when it comes to North Korea, it’s basically an informational free-for-all.”

WIBTA for kicking my brother out?
Long story short, last year I (24) got my own apartment, it's literally only a 1 bedroom; I got it myself without a cosigner, I paid an entire year of rent up front, and I paid a triple deposit because it's my first lease anywhere, and I've never asked anybody to help me pay any of the bills, I even moved all my furniture in completely by myself without help from anybody including my mom or her stinky husband (32, ew) or my brother (19)
I lived here by myself for about 4 months when my brother and my mom's stinky husband got into a fight
(it was Stinkys fault, he was starting shit with all my moms kids and my brother was just the only one aggressive enough to put him in the hospital like he deserved, but my mom defended him and lied to the court so he wouldn't be deported, he's her only source of income atm because of her disability)
anyways, my brother went to juvie for a few months and the courts say he and Stinky can't live in the same house together anymore, since this happened a few days after he graduated high school, they decided to not try him like an adult for the sentence, BUT if he breaks the restraining order, he will be tried like an adult; so my mom asked if my brother could live with me for a few DAYS so she could get her own place, for her and her kids (including the brother STILL IN MY HOUSE), and divorce Stinky-mcgee
I agreed to do it under the radar because I would have to pay a huge fee to add him to my lease, but it's against my lease to have him here this long without adding him...and my apts are trying to rebrand as "luxury" to raise rent, so they're kicking people out left and right for very minor offenses like smoking cigarettes indoors or hanging clothes on their balcony, things TECHNICALLY against the lease but REALLY stupid. (and charging new people more than what the people being kicked out were paying)
they will 100% evict me if I don't pay to add him to my lease if they find out, so I can't even call the maintenance man (he's a snitch, he already snitched on me for having more pets than I said I did). So I can't get my AC fixed and its 110°F outside rn...if I get evicted, I don't have any savings and I will be homeless, BUT ANYWAYS
it's been 7months, and my mom hasn't even LOOKED for an apartment,
my brother has 3 jobs and a car, but instead of looking for an apartment he spends all his money on his girlfriend (20), and video games, and shoes (I get that he's still a teen, so he wants teen things), but he won't even pay for the grocery bill if I ask (I only ask for groceries, the CHEAPEST bill, since I work with food, I rarely eat at home anyways, so it's mostly HIS groceries) and he always says he doesn't have enough money
I am at my fuckin limit tbh,
but I'm not sure if he could get an apt the same way I did with his conviction history (he's been to juvie like 6 times for different things), and my mom has been evicted so many times for fighting people that I doubt she could co sign if they look into her renters history; and my older brother (27) won't co sign or take him in because he says my brother isn't reliable enough, and he doesn't want to take the financial hit if my brother gets arrested again and can't pay rent... (the other kids are still school age, so they don't count)
he's old enough to go to a shelter, but we use to live in a shelter for YEARS after a tornado took out our house and our dad, and he took it the hardest, so I think living in a shelter might be a trigger for him(?)...so I kinda feel bad for suggesting it(?)
WIBTA if i just packed his shit, put it in his car, and told him to go to either his girlfriends house or a shelter?
(I kinda feel shitty for even thinking of it tbh)
What are these acronyms?

The Mystery of Healing: Story 1-Part 1
The smell of eggs filled the house as they cooked in the pan. Placed there by close to expert hands, they sizzled over the small stove powered by a well tended fire. Light had not yet started to stream in the houses windows, but that was fine. Kylantha enjoyed the moments of quiet she had in the darkness of a morning.
She cooked for two this morning. An odd feeling. She often felt as if she needed to add more eggs, bake bread to prepare toast, toss a larger salad for lunch. The short elven girl tended to the two portions of food carefully. Cooking her eggs so the yolk would still run, and the other portion just a tad longer. Her grandmother was not out of her room yet.
Pursing her lips, Kylantha added some salt to the eggs. Then nodded to herself, letting the eggs cook on the pan for a moment longer, as she moved to cut the fruit she had laid out earlier.
A small bunch of strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries were in a small strainer in the kitchen. She walked over and used the indoor water pump to wash them. Such a luxury, she had never thought that she would get to live in a house with something like that. Yet here, in her grandmothers small home, she had almost grown accustomed to it.
Turning, she frowned as she looked back at the eggs. She moved back over, took them off the fire, and carefully picked a small rose off of the ground. She tossed it into the fire.
Focusing she slipped the eggs onto two plates, decorating them beautifully with assorted fruits. She wished that they had melons but the last shipment to the town of Idolna had been rotting when they got here. Much to the merchants disappointment.
The elf was quiet as she carefully took a seat at the kitchen table. It was a finely made thing. Something one might expect to see in a mansion and not a small house on the edge of a poor town. Inlay with bronze, it sat four. Though more often than not, only two sat at it.
Most of the house was fine. Wooden floors, wooden walls. A stone fireplace that blazed in the winter, and soft beds with down pillows. Though its exterior might not have been the most impressive, the interior belied its owner. Kylantha’s grandmother.
A grandmother that was supposed to be awake by now. They had a lot of orders to fill today, and though Kylantha was bad at them, she wanted to make sure that she did her part.
“Good morning Kylantha.” A deep feminine voice said as a taller woman, significantly taller than Kylantha swept into the room. Dark skin, with short hair that was cut as close as possible to her head as it could be, and deep green eyes. Some might have described Kylantha’s grandmother as “once beautiful”. They would have noted the deep wrinkles on her thin face, the one’s on her eyes and cheeks, and spoke of the lost beauty of youth.
Especially other elves. Kylantha only being seventy-five, she was not even an adult by the standerds of the elves. Yet her grandmother had lived over ten times her lifetime. Wrinkles on an elf were a rare thing to see. Yet Kylantha never understood how her grandmother could be considered anything less than beautiful.
That was even ignoring the tattoos, the beautiful art that adorned her grandmothers skin. A tapestry of great deeds, of legends. Of tales that Kylantha had heard of, yet would never hear all of due to the shere volume of them.
She nodded to her grandmother silently. A sign of respect. The only sign that she could pay. Waiting for her to sit down and start to eat before she herself did. Only when her grandmother next spoke did she move.
“Excellent job on breakfast as always Kylantha.” She said in that voice that had once calmed dragons. A voice as powerful as the sea itself.
Kylantha nodded gently. “Thank you Grandmother.” Her own voice felt strange in her lips. It was never truely her own. At least it never felt like it. Her voice was this soft quiet thing that a soft breeze ripped away from her. It was a leaf chewed away by bugs trying its best to stay on the branch of a tree that had long since died.
Her grandmother regarded her as they ate. It was silence. It felt like most things between them were silent. Kylnatha hated that. Yet, here she could never bring herself to break it. The silence was a comfort. A comfort to her. Broken only by the other comfort of her grandmothers voice.
“What do we have today?” Kind. Kylantha did not deserve the kindness of that voice. Yet her grandmother gave it to her anyway. Without hesitating, Kylantha started to speak.
“The Televana has needed us for the past week, his lock needs cleaned. Says it’s gotten rusty due to all the rain,” She was quick with her words. Practical.
“The merchants want to buy from us. Preferably some of our best stock. They say that the last time they got robbed, instead of taking any of the valuable things the bandits took the locks you made them.”
Her grandmother chuckled. “It’s a lie they use to justify selling my locks to people. They make most of the profit from them. I’ve had their order ready since I heard they were coming back to town.”
Kylantha blinked. “May I ask a question then?”
“Yes, of course.” Her grandmother smiled back at her. Green eyes full of gentle care and joy.
“Why lie about it then? If they know you’re find with themes selling your product, then why do they lie?” Kylantha leaned forwards, ignoring her food out of pure curiosity.
“First of all granddaughter, your flowers are getting into your food.”
Kylantha blinked then realized her hair, which was coated in flowers, had falled into her eggs. She quickly swiped her hair back causing the tulips and violets to fall from her hair and land on the ground. It would have been a relief had new flowers not sprouted and grown to full bloom almost instantly. She could not remember the last time she had truely seen just her hair. Not since the flowers started to grow.
“Second of all, they’re worried that I’ll start to charge them more. Want a bigger cut of the profits. As if I don’t have more money than I could ever need living here.” Her grandmother chuckled softly. “So it becomes a little game we play. He pretends he’s not selling them, and I go along with it because it’s fun. Does that make sense?”
“Yes Grandmother.” Kylantha responded almost instantly. She nearly wilted at the look she got. Not that it was a bad look, no. It was that look of pity that her grandmother gave her each time she answered a question about herself. Like her understanding.
“Are there any other important things that we need to attend to today?” Her grandmother asked with a smile. “Things we need to prepare for later in the week?”
Kylantha frowned and leaned back. Wondering if there was indeed something that they needed to do. Yet no other pressing matters entered her mind. She shook her head gently. “I don’t believe so grandmother.” She said after a moment. “Nothing important is happening this week.”
“I see,” Her grandmother sighed and nodded. Standing and brushing the wrinkles out of her shirt. “Go start to check over our orders for the day. Once you’ve made sure the merchants will get everything, go to Televana’s and fix his lock. Take a second one just in case the tumblers are too rusted. Don’t charge for the installation. Just the cleaning.”
She blinked. “You’re going to wash the dishes grandmother?” Kylantha knew that her tone was questioning. She simply did not believe what she was seeing.
“Of course I am Kylantha.” She said with a small laugh. “I’m going to start doing it every time that you cook a meal. I have to do my share around the house too you know.”
“But your-” Kylantha started.
“My magic? And how often do I even use that anymore. It was useful during my adventuring days. Now it simply gets things done to fast. I don’t get to enjoy simple pleasures.” She smiled at Kylantha. A smile filled with grandmotherly warmpth. “Go. Tend to Televana. I’ll meet you at the merchants.”
Kylantha blinked, the full request hitting her. She was to go to Televana? Alone? What if she messed up? Then she would get the blame. Start to ruin her grandmothers perfect reputation.
Without another word. She went to do as her grandmother asked.
“You’re really done?” Televana’s voice cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. “That was barely five minutes!” The tall minotaur said with a snort. “Can’t believe you’ve only been at this a month.”
“Yes, all done.” Kylantha stowed the lock she had needed to in her bag of tools. Screwdrivers, a hammer, some screws a nail. And lockworking tools for picking and cleaning locks. A traveling locksmith. That was what she was working to becoming. Televana had not said anything else that needed responding to, so she remained quiet.
She waited as he tried the door. Wondering if her testing had been rough enough for the seven foot tall muscular carpenter that supplied most of the towns fine furniture. She did not look him in the eyes. Not just because she was almost two feet shorter, but because she did not want to look up. The cloak and hood that covered her gave her just enough anonymity here. Even if it also made her stand out.
She heard the door open and shut twice as she carefully and meticulously packed her tools away.
“That’s better than it has been in years!” Televana said with a chuckle. “Knew I should have gotten your grandma to instal the last one.”
Kylantha nodded as she stood. “If you need anything. Send a message. I can be back to fix anything that I might have done wrong. Don’t want you to have a non-funcional door.”
“I’m sure that I will not. Lock and handle feels better than it has in years,” He chuckled. “Wouldn’t call you anyway. Too bullheaded.” Snorting at his own joke, he walked over to Kylantha as she picked up her bag. “How much do I owe you?” Note: Sigils and Willows **IS STILL HAPPENING**. I simply needed to take a small break, and this kinda started to come out of me as I did. So I hope you enjoy as I post between this and Sigils.

25°c felt like 34°c for me these days and this heat caused me to be distressed , to be overstimulated and feel horrible in my own skin, I ended up having panic attacks due to it and I can’t stand it anymore. Idk what I will do in summer when it’s gonna be actually 34°c 😭
At least at work it was decent ish bcs we kept all the blinds down which kept the heat from creeping in. Only around 2/3pm we had to turn on AC bcs it was starting to get warm inside.
If I wouldn’t have taken dex (adhd meds) today , I wouldn’t have survived bcs it was a big no bone day. I’m so thankful that my bf gave me some of his meds bcs I wasn’t able to get an official adult adhd diagnosis but I am unofficially diagnosed by my former therapist so I know I have it , I just yeah Romanian healthcare is shitty.
For me it works best to only take adhd meds when I have a no bone day bcs on the other days I am functioning decent bcs I was unmedicated for that long that I figured out a way how to work without meds but it’s helpful to have a backup plan when nothing works out.
But to be honest I barely get shit done without meds 😔 It’s like 8h work, 30min eating, 6h recovery where I maybe might play something or maybe wash laundry or maybe take a walk or maybe use the indoor bicycle and then sleep 5-8h hours. Nothing else. I have the luxury tho that I still live with my mom and I don’t have to worry about food and bills too much (I pay my mom tho each month for household stuff and bills bcs I earn more)
Ok idk where I wanted to go again with this ramble but I guess I had to get this out of my system.
Oh yeah wait I HATE SUMMER I want my spring and my autumn back and maybe winter >:((
CLIMATE CRISIS IS REAL 😭 and my Audhd me is scared how to cope due to these soaring temperatures this early this year :((

Rules: Tag 10 (or less) people you want to get to know better
relationship status: Engaged since 2011. Met my partner in art college where as I was talking about my OCs(one of which was called Mandy), they shouted "NO MANDY DON'T JUMP OFF THE BUILDING!!!" and thus Mandy the zombified-nekogirl that lived in the ceiling and eats moldy sandwiches was born. I legit said to myself 'I'm gonna marry that person' and well we live together in a flat with a black cat named Magic so 90% there XD
favorite color: I'm partial to blue but honestly theres alot I like and I'm very indecisive.
Song stuck in my head: StayC 'Teddy Bear' Teddy bear woooooo
three favorite foods: Pickles/Gherkins, especially the thick big ones you get in the chippy. There are so fucking expensive wtf.
The slaw you get with a donor kebab. I figured out ratio for marinade, I'm so chuffed with myself for that. Donor kebabs are pretty dope.
Cinnamon swirls like cinnamon buns but puff pastry.
last song I listened to: Twice - Signal
youtube
Generally because I keep imagining a scene for FG where Alessa is playing with Oscar's phone and accidentally opens up a music app and plays this. Oscar is in background halfheartedly doing the dance moves while sat down... Alessa is utterly bewildered.
dream trip: Boy... fuck knows. I've never really had the draw to go on holidays, probably because its a goddamn luxury and way too expensive.
But I wouldn't mind to go to Japan or Korea (Weeb shit i know) then promptly die of anaphylaxes because I'm wildly allergic to shellfish.
last thing(s) i googled: alstroemeria, I was wondering what kind of flower it was as it was in a list of flower safe for cats. I'm attempting indoor gardening, in my kitchen. Straight googling flowers.
I'm not tagging anyone because @partyinthemysterymachine tagged everyone like the goddamn rulebreaker he is.

I imagine this is the original motivation for the empire. Those first few hundred years with the first resurrected were probably partially spent with them figuring out how to feed everyone in a solar system where nothing wants to grow. In those early years, John was probably able to magic up some crops to keep it going but he wouldn’t be able to keep that up forever. Or at the very least, reasonably didnt want to spend eternity flying from planet to planet just to make the grass grow. So if he wanted the population to ever grow larger than what he personally could support, they’d have to find somewhere to grow food and import it.
I actually think food is probably the main thing the wealthier houses have going for them. The two poorest houses, the 6th and 9th are known to have food problems. The 9th eats almost entirely cabbage and leeks, with nearly all their skeletal constructs dedicated to trying to grow them on the surface of a planet so far from the sun it’s barely distinguishable from a background star. We have less detail about the 6th, but we know they struggle with a stable food source. Likely due to them being too close to the sun, to the point they can’t grow shit outside because you’d just die, so it’s all gotta be what they can manage indoors.
The second and third are probably the best off, which thematically makes sense as well. Venus and mars are closest to where earth is and so they can probably manage growing food a bit better. These are still, at best, planets terraformed only ten thousand years ago, and dead ones at that, but if the 9th can scrape some leeks out of Pluto then I imagine the 2nd can grow some grass for cows on mars, yaknow? Thematically it works because once you have a stable food surplus, you have room to focus on things like soldiers and fashion and such.
And as the empire grows outside the solar system, houses with easier access to materials, either crops or shit like asteroids or Jupiter’s and Saturns moons, are already wealthier, so they can afford more in the way of importing extrasolar food. I’m not sure which house or houses act as the primary port for all these imports, but that one is going to be doing quite well for itself as well.
But, even after 10 thousand years, the two poorest houses, one which was established as an archive and the other as a tomb and a prison, never quite made up for what they lacked. Although we do see evidence that the 9th used to be a bit better off than it is now, having at some point supported a decent tourist industry of pilgrims and such.
But yeah. Most of the houses probably aren’t good places to grow food, even in the best circumstances. And they needed places to grow it, so that requires large habitats just for fields, or entire planets being terraformed. And that requires people and materials, which takes food. So they probably started their original expansion in search of living planets to grow food on to send back. First for basic supply, later for more variety and luxury.
A non-exhaustive list of Foods in the Nine Houses (why? fucking because)
Foods that they definitely have (mentioned directly by a character/character's internal narrative)
Tomatoes (from “red sauce”), grapes (for wine), eggs, grain (of some kind, presumably wheat - for “flour shapes”, beer, Canaan House bread and also Fifth House couscous-dish), onions, carrots, pomegranates (assumed - from Fifth, cf. Abigail & Magnus' dinner party), potatoes, chocolate (Harrow mentions something smelling of 'dust and chocolate'), snow-leeks, nuts (of some kind - peanuts definitely, cf 'peanuts in an admiralty meeting'), apples ('diet comprises mainly red meat and apples'), chilli (sufficient to make the Fifth food “spicy”), sugar, ginger (god’s ginger biscuits), cinnamon (nona knows what cinnamon smells like; Palamedes recognises what cinnamon is sufficient to ask Nona how she knows that), lemons (Harrow's preserved lemon tea, Gideon mentions someone looking like a 'sack of lemons'), fish (of some kind, served at Canaan House), coffee, tea,
Foods that they may have had once and perhaps no longer (largely Lyctoral references - Valancy & Cyrus' paintings, spoken of by Lyctors)
Melons, bananas, pineapples, oranges, coconuts, pickle(s)
Foods that are up for debatefrom description/inner narrative
Mayonnaise ('mayonnaise uncle'), chicken ('chickenshits don't get beer'), duck ('you're a sitting duck', 'we tried that, duckling'), cows ('milking a large and invisible cow', 'muscular, lean-beef arms')
Why do I care? Well because food production in a post-apocalyptic world where the planets have been stripped of their thalergy is a contentious issue. I'm astonished that they have chocolate, and that the Fifth (at least) has dairy. Palamedes says 'my whole House for a reliable food source' and the level of physical weakness amongst both necromancers and cavaliers (as evidenced in As Yet Unsent by Judith's assessment of 5K times for top necro and cav Cohort recruits) suggests that it's not just thalergy depletion but malnutrition that might pose an issue to the Houses. And yet...chocolate? Lemons? Red meat? What are they eating on these installations? Where are they farming not just food (which could be hydroponically grown) but livestock?
I have no answers I just think it's very interesting what does and doesn't get mentioned
#the worst thing about the locked tomb is that it will end#it’s a delightfully complex world with all kinds of interesting questions like this#most of which will remain forever unanswered

Katy’s transportation system is pretty straightforward and user-friendly. It’s a car-dependent city, meaning most people drive to get around, but the road networks are well-maintained, so you won’t get stuck in traffic for too long. The major highways like I-10 and the Grand Parkway make it easy to get to Houston or other nearby areas. Public transportation options are limited, though, so if you’re not driving, your best bet is relying on rideshare services. Plus, the design changes, like the Texas-shaped succulent garden and regionally sourced wood, give the store a unique, local touch that’s a nice change from the usual. The addition of solar panels and EV charging stations also shows they’re thinking ahead, keeping sustainability in mind. It’s interesting that they used virtual reality to test the layout before building, which makes sense in today’s tech-driven world. If you’re someone who values convenience and eco-friendly design, this store sounds like a great spot to check out. How to Plan the Perfect Scottsdale Night Out with Friends
Introduction
Looking for the ultimate night out with friends? Scottsdale, Arizona, has you covered! Known for its vibrant nightlife, luxurious dining, and picturesque desert backdrops, Scottsdale offers the perfect setting for unforgettable evenings. Whether you’re into rooftop cocktails, dancing, or late-night eats, this city knows how to keep the party going. Ready to plan the perfect Scottsdale night out? Let’s dive in!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/250e71e0c361778ca235bae63bee1ad2/cbdc3177e2d773d1-78/s400x600/1fef32af9e3c323434f64b9d4ac30dd1c45ea196.jpg)
Understanding Your Group’s Preferences
Knowing Your Friends’ Tastes
Every great night out starts with understanding what your group enjoys. Are your friends foodies who crave fine dining experiences, adventure-seekers who love a thrill, or party-goers looking to dance the night away? Scottsdale caters to all tastes, so knowing your group’s preferences will help tailor the night to everyone’s liking.
Considering Group Size
Is it an intimate outing with a few close friends or a large celebration? Scottsdale has options for both! Cozy cocktail lounges are perfect for smaller groups, while larger venues like outdoor bars and event spaces accommodate bigger crowds with ease.
Choosing the Right Time
Weekends vs. Weekdays
Scottsdale’s nightlife thrives throughout the week, but the vibe can vary. Weekends are bustling, with packed clubs and lively streets, making it ideal for those who love crowds and energy. Prefer a more relaxed atmosphere? Weekdays often mean shorter wait times and more intimate settings.
Ideal Seasons for Scottsdale
While Scottsdale is charming year-round, winter and spring are particularly magical. The weather is cooler, perfect for enjoying rooftop lounges or walking around Old Town. Summer nights, though warm, still offer fun indoor and outdoor options.
Pre-Planning Essentials
Setting a Budget
Scottsdale offers everything from luxurious, high-end experiences to budget-friendly options. Decide ahead of time how much you’re willing to spend. Planning a splurge? Check out the city’s upscale restaurants and lounges. On a budget? There are plenty of wallet-friendly happy hours and local spots to explore.
Reserving Ahead
Scottsdale is a hotspot, especially on weekends. To avoid disappointment, make reservations for dinner or nightlife spots. Popular venues like Toca Madera or Kazimierz Wine & Whiskey Bar often book up fast, so plan early!
Crafting the Perfect Itinerary
Kickstart with a Memorable Dinner
Every great night out starts with good food. Scottsdale’s culinary scene is a feast for the senses. Some top recommendations include:
The Mission: Perfect for modern Latin cuisine and an upscale vibe.
Olive & Ivy: Great for Mediterranean-inspired dishes with a beautiful waterfront patio.
FnB: A local favorite known for its seasonal, farm-to-table menu.
Exploring Scottsdale’s Bar Scene
After dinner, dive into the city’s vibrant bar scene. For craft cocktails, head to The Beverly on Main or Second Story Liquor Bar. Want something more laid-back? Check out Coach House, a Scottsdale institution with a casual, welcoming vibe.
Adding Unique Experiences
Scottsdale offers more than just bars and restaurants. Consider spicing up your night with unique experiences like live music at Rockbar Inc., a comedy show at The Comedy Spot, or even a desert-themed escape room challenge!
Transportation Tips
Renting a Party Bus
For larger groups, a party bus can make transportation part of the fun. With music, lights, and space to mingle, it’s a great way to keep the energy high while hopping between locations.
Ridesharing Apps and Taxis
Prefer convenience? Services like Uber and Lyft are readily available in Scottsdale, ensuring you can get around safely and efficiently without worrying about parking.
Dressing for the Occasion
Scottsdale’s Dress Code
Scottsdale’s nightlife leans toward upscale chic. For clubs and lounges, think cocktail dresses or button-down shirts with tailored pants. Casual spots like breweries or sports bars allow for a more relaxed style, but it’s always better to be slightly overdressed than underdressed.
Weather Considerations
Desert evenings can be cool, especially in winter, so bring a light jacket. During summer, opt for breathable fabrics to stay comfortable despite the warm temperatures.
Must-Visit Locations
Old Town Scottsdale
Old Town is the heart of Scottsdale’s nightlife. Packed with clubs, bars, and restaurants, it’s a lively destination where the party doesn’t stop. Don’t miss hotspots like Whiskey Row or El Hefe.
Scottsdale Waterfront
For a more sophisticated vibe, the Scottsdale Waterfront offers stunning views and upscale venues. Grab a drink at The Canal Club or dine at one of the elegant restaurants lining the water.
Rooftop Lounges
Nothing beats a rooftop view of the desert skyline. Head to Outrider Rooftop Lounge or The WET Deck at W Scottsdale for cocktails under the stars.
Making Memories with Fun Activities
Escape Rooms and Game Nights
Add some excitement with group activities like escape rooms or interactive games. These are perfect for breaking the ice and getting everyone involved.
Karaoke and Dance Floors
Let your hair down and hit a karaoke bar or dance floor. Whether you’re belting out classics or showing off your moves, this is where memories are made.
Staying Safe While Having Fun
Drinking Responsibly
It’s easy to get caught up in the fun, but pace yourself. Scottsdale has plenty of great drinks, so sip slowly and enjoy the night.
Group Safety Protocols
Stick together and stay aware of your surroundings. Designate a meetup spot in case anyone gets separated, and always have a plan for getting home safely.
Wrapping Up the Night
Late-Night Eats
End the night on a delicious note! Hit up spots like AZ88 for late-night bites or grab tacos from Diego Pops. These eateries are perfect for satisfying post-party cravings.
Reflecting on the Fun
Take a moment to appreciate the memories made. Whether it’s snapping group photos or laughing about the night’s adventures, cherish the moments with your friends.
Conclusion
Planning the perfect Scottsdale night out with friends doesn’t have to be complicated. With its mix of vibrant nightlife, delicious dining, and unique activities, Scottsdale is the ultimate destination for an unforgettable evening. So grab your crew, plan your itinerary, and get ready for a night to remember!

Menu Variety: Look for a service that offers a wide selection of food options, including vegan, gluten-free, and halal choices.

Setting the Scene: Use blankets and cushions to create a cozy picnic area on your living room floor. Fairy lights can add a warm ambiance.
Indoor Picnic Menu: Think about easy-to-eat foods like mini sandwiches, wraps, cheese boards, and fresh fruit. You can even prepare fun mocktails to enjoy!
Themed Decorations: Incorporate fun decorations that reflect the picnic theme. Consider picnic-themed tableware, colourful napkins, and centrepieces with fresh flowers.
Engaging Activities: Plan activities like board games, movie screenings, or even a DIY craft station for the kids.
