good god. the only reason macdennis isn’t canon is because rcg doesn’t want to go with the evil-gay-couple trope. and i get it… sort of. i mean mac coming out contradicts that statement but the way rcg and specifically rob view the topic of homosexual rep in their show is that it’s a risk factor (when implementing homosexuality into the “not so cool” characters of the show instead of normal side characters.) in no way does rcg want to appeal to the dudebros. also mac coming out wasn’t planned yet worked out formulaically because of past jokes, this could also happen with dennis. his character reeks of ambiguity and bisexuality accompanied with underlying abandonment issues which is other thing in it of itself. anyway there’s no reason for macden not to happen but maybe i just feel this way because i’ve analyzed their relationship like an insane person
