Also have another “first words spoken to you are on your skin” soulmate AU idea where Kara is a journalist assigned to shadow the controversial CEO of L-Corp for the day. It’s a big deal for her to get this assignment, so of course she trips the second she’s near the other woman and tries awkwardly to redeem herself.

The CEO stares at her almost in shock, and then says nothing. At all. Ever, for the entire day.

Kara spends hours following Lena Luthor around trying to fill the silence, but no amount of questions get her to talk. Lena almost seems to be running away at some points - like she’s trying to lose her? - and the few times she’s managed to catch her actually talking to someone she goes silent the second she sees Kara.

She asks around if Miss Luthor is usually like this and everyone looks at her like she’s crazy. Apparently she’s the only one who gets the silent treatment. By the end of her first day shadowing she’s walking away with half a page of observations and not a single quote. Miss Grant is going to kill her.

But that’s okay. It’s fine, this isn’t over. She has four days of shadowing ahead of her and she’ll be damned if she doesn’t finish this with a quote from the woman herself. It’s only a matter of time.

I find it so interesting having this relationship be the first to end so early in a season while also having it feel so incomplete to the point that those two journalists told Oliver that it feels unfinished.

it's suspicious as hell (tinfoil hat on)! once again, it's breaking old patterns, and that's a core of the bucktommy relationship: setting new precedents. i can't think of a better way to break the mold that have buck fight for what he wants instead of passively waiting for instructions or for time to heal wounds enough that he can move onto the next meet-cute. why else purposefully frame the breakup as miscommunication?

i choose to believe OS alluded to a potential reconciliation when he said there's still 12 whole episodes to see how it plays out in answer to that one interviewer. after all, he didn't outright deny the assumption, so. a tentative win for now

THE RUMORS ARE TRUE!

I am fresh off of drawing an entire graphic novel (which will be out in stores Feb 2024 oh boy!) and about to start Kickstarter fulfillment for my other (18+) comic, and NOW I FINALLY CAN GET BACK TO SAKANA. It has been a long few years for everyone. :U

Right now I'm focusing on building a buffer of pages before I decide on an official relaunch date, but there are NEW ACTUAL PAGES IN EXISTENCE AS WE SPEAK. I thought it would be hard to jump back in but turns out when you've done something 600 times already the BODY REMEMBERS.

I don't have a set goal for buffer pages other than "A LOT OF THEM" but I'll be posting them to the $5 tier of my Patreon until I decide on a public relaunch date (hopefully mid summer?) There's already 3 whole real pages up there. Unbelievable.

Anyhoo, thanks to everyone who's been waiting patiently for Jiro Sakana to get his ass in gear!! A whole pandemic has happened (is happening!) since the last update oh my god.

not to be an insane girl but dragon age is literally part of who i am as a person and it is such a weird feeling to know that its ended. and on such an unsatisfying note.

there's something sadly funny about the way that Kaladin goes into literally every situation thinking "Too bad I'm not cool anymore 😔"

I mean. I get it. Depression fucks your brain up and you feel detached from yourself and any skills you have or had. The PTSD and chronic fatigue are keeping him from doing things he once managed with far less effort. And it's rather impossible to feel like you can just... do things like you used to when you're struggling at a basic level to simply be.

Still, literally everyone who knows him is like "Kaladin you're so storming cool" and he goes "They're referring to the person I was, who is dead. I'll never be cool again. I'm sorry."

The most hilarious thing? He walks into these moments, thinking 'too bad', and then he does the most objectively amazing thing possible while everyone else just watches in awe.

Kaladin, three seconds after absolutely changing everyone's outlook on life: Aw, it's too bad the person I just was died again. Guess I have to find something else to be cuz I sure can't pull that off anymore.
