Oh, what a lovely display of hostorical ignorance!
So, let's start at the first image: the sympol there is the symbol of Irgun (Etzel in hebrew), who believed at the time that the entirerty of British controlled areas in the Levant were promised to the Jews in the Balfour Declaration. Even during the 1930s, when this organization was operating (along side others), it was a minority opinion especially since traditionally we had (and still have) no reason to cultivate a desert we never lived in east to the Jordan river.
Now let's move to the map of "Greater Israel". It's true that the bible mentioned a Greater Israel" as the land promised by god to the decendents of Jacob after becoming a nation (exsodus 23:31, Numbers 34, Ezekiel 47:13-20). Historically and archeologically speaking, however, we know for a fact that the kingdoms of Israel and Judea never extended further than the boundaries of Litani river in modern-day Lebanon, the fertile lands on modern-day Jordan (specifically the Gilad and Amon regions), and the Negev desert in modern-day Israel. And throughout history there was no attempt to "concour" anything beyond these bounds. And keep in mind, only Ezekiel talks about the boundries properly, the Torah itself keeps it vague with phrases like "from the sea to the river" (Sounds familiar?), which has been always interprated as "from the middleterranian sea to the Jordan river".
And now, let's talk about the flag. The correct flag is this one, with white strips at the top and bottom:
Tumblr media
And funny enough, it looks very similar to a talith, a praying cloak worn only during morning prays.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why is that? Well, nobody knows really how it started in the 1890s, but the current Israeli flag was agreed upon and became the official flag of the Zionist Movement in its first assembly in 1897. It is believed, however, that a version of the flag was first flown at Nes Ziona (a city in modern-day Israel) in 1885. Here are suggested reconstructions of this flag:
Tumblr media
Why blue, of all colours? Well, because blue was always the national colour of the people native to the southern Levant. We see it in archeological finds, as well as in the bible (Numbers 15:38).
Now, let's talk about "Hammas in Lebanon or Egypt": we all know Hammas afiliates and soldiers fled to Egypt since 2009, as we know that Egypt tried to stop the smuggling operations from Sinai to the strip by flooding the tunnels underneath the border. And since many "Ganaz Influencers™️" are now posting from Egypt, it's safe to assume Hammas is alive and well over there (for now). As of Lebanon? Well, we got Hizbolla(? Hizballa? How do you even spell their name in English), which is way, way worse than Hammas. If Hammas is your local gang leader, Hizballa is the fricken Russian Maffia. You don't under-estimate these guys.
I will stop here and wont go inti trying ti reason with any of you regarding us being "imperial colonizers" since you see all jews as "white europeans" and thus as the demiurge-sorry, I mean "the evil within and without".
Tumblr media
Tell me how this is about Hamas. "Well you shouldnt be supporting Hamas" "well what about oct 7?" "Do you condem hamas?". Ugh cmon, yall just wanna steal a land and use the excuse of "it was promised to us bla bla" and kill others.. its not about hamas, its all about colonizing.
I have not heard about hamas in Lebanon or Egypt. Come up with something new...

Back when I was teaching Japanese college students, I remember escorting some of my students back to their dorms from a burger place one of the other mentors invited them to late at night (he ditched them there and I was mad about it because they didn't know the area well).
While we were walking back, I was expressing my disappointment and saying it was inappropriate for that mentor to invite them out without walking them back since it was late at night and it wasn't a great part of the city, but after a few minutes I apologized to them saying something like "I know most of you are grown adults and I don't want you to think I see you as helpless children, but I do want to make sure you get home safely," and one of them said in the kindest most sincere voice, "We know. You are like a Japanese mother."
And I was just like *voice cracking* "Cool" and walked them the rest of the way back to their dorms, then walked to the bus with my face buried in my hands.
#i talk#My favorite student also said I reminded him of his mother (who he'd spoken of very highly the entire trip) and I was like#*VOICE CRACKING* ''OH. THANK YOU.''#Man I love all those students so much#That was right before one of the worst periods of my life#but I remember the time I spent with them so fondly#One of them was a 40 year old woman who was so surprised I knew who Kaito was when I saw him on the background of her computer#and she was like ''That is Miku's boyfriend'' and I was trying my best not to burst into giggles because she said it so seriously#My favorite student was an absolute sweetheart. When I said goodbye to him and the rest of my students I burst into tears while going home#All of the Pokemon nerds and I played Pokemon Go together and it was so fun#I mostly spoke English with them because I wanted to make sure they were getting enough practice#but I did speak Japanese with them for funzies sometimes (esp. if they were having trouble understanding something)#but I have a tendency to use casual speech and when I found out one of my students was older than me#(one who I always used casual speech with)#I was like WHOOPS. Well. Oh well#he thought it was funny but I guess technically it was fine since I was his mentor / teacher#He was a very serious guy but he was always very nice#Though the one day I wasn't there he got into a fight with another student because they were rude to him#but you know. it happens#anyways. All of them were so sweet#I almost cried saying goodbye to my elementary school students too when I finally decided to swap jobs#The little Mexican boy and girl I taught came up to me and silently hugged me so tightly and cried and cried and cried#and I almost started crying too#agh#I love kids I love college students#aghhhhhhhhhhhhhh. education is such a tough field to work in and the pay sucks and you're constantly overworked#but I loved my students so much. I still love them. I hope they're all doing ok#I remember when the Orange Idiot got elected one of the students who was planning to study abroad here messaged me#and I asked him if he still planned to come study here and he said yes because ''I believe the good people outnumber the bad''#I think about that all the time

Here are some Ghost outfits, because he has the weirdest fashion sense of all my characters and it makes him fun to draw and also I have no self control! 8D
Tumblr media
(Full-size here, in case tumblr fucks it up)
All of these were at least partially derived from Actual Clothes I saw at a mall, though I took a variety of creative liberties with them. Also I added more holes, cuz that's just how a Ghost do.
Oh, and here's him as a non-canon alter-ego he named Calico after he gained and immediately started irresponsibly abusing a new ability in an alternate reality:
Tumblr media
He sure, uh. He sure does go ham the second he's no longer genetically bound to his natural color scheme. Ghost, I know you're an alien and have no concept of such things, but I still think it might somehow be a little bit racist that you decided to make your IRL OC have slightly darker skin...??? Just a little. Food for thought.

Yes the Bible Fanfiction take is hilarious but I don't think it's perfectly accurate. Because from either broad perspective of the Bible (myth or history) it doesn't quite add up.
From the myth perspective, well, writing stories about other mythologies isn't considered fanfiction (think Percy Jackson)
From the history perspective, the same issue (think Hamilton). Now yes, Aziraphale and Crowley are fictional characters (based on Biblical figures but still fictional) but this actually cements their originality imo. Because you can write a story about a guy (you made up) on the voyage to the Cape Of Good Hope for the first time and that's not fanfiction.
I.. don't expect anyone to do anything at all with this information. Nor do I think we should stop referring to Gomens as a Bible songfic.. I just figured the thought experiment was worth sharing lmao.

Trial order and why Lilia, not Agatha, is last (not counting Rio)
Kay, so I got another off-the-wall theory for you, this time around the order of the trials and why Lilia, not Agatha, is actually going to be last (if we don't count Rio). It goes back to maiden mother crone and some of the trauma/generational trauma stuff I already talked about in a previous post. As with The Road, continue at your own peril.
Right so I couldn't get this idea of maiden mother crone, intergenerational trauma, dealing with the long history of violence toward witches thing out of my head that the show is doing. And I think we've all been assuming that Lilia's trial will be next, saving Agatha and probably Rio for last, because those are standard main character of a TV show rules.
But the more I think about it, the more weight I feel like Lilia's journey carries for this overall theme of trauma toward witches and the history of witches, etc. She seems to have the most intense connection to the pain of witches past, like old-world witch stuff, and she's the one who's brought up multiple times that witches aren't really as they've been portrayed, there's all these negative stereotypes, etc etc. And she's sick of it. She's lived through it for the longest of all of them (again, leaving whatever Rio is out of it).
Idk, something that big, addressing the long history of violence toward witches and witch stereotypes, that feels like you have to deal with it last. That's a culmination of all the witch references, pop culture and otherwise, the show has been making, of which there are MANY.
So I thought ok, for funzies, let's assume Lilia's last, which puts our trial order as follows: Jen -> Alice -> Agatha -> Lilia (and I guess true last would be Rio but I'll get there in a second).
Assuming that order, something else pinged for me: maiden mother crone. Another massive theme in the show, portraying these generations of witches and women in general, and again, for reasons I can't explain, it really feels like it has weight to me. Like they're doing something with it.
So leaving Jen aside for a second, don't worry I'll come back to her, that makes Alice our maiden. Her role, particularly in the context of her trial, is the role of daughter. She's also the youngest of the witches, as far as I can tell. She's even coded as kind of the rebellious one, the young angry one who still hasn't quite accepted her heritage, until after her trial, she does.
Agatha is the mother. We are really going for the mother/child relationship with her and Teen, and of course dealing with her son's death and whatever part she played in it. I would assume her trial will be about that, but we could also be saving that for the end. The mother is also the connector generation between maiden and crone, so maybe there's something there about Agatha fully stepping into the leader role of the coven, and accepting these women around her, idk.
Lilia, the eldest, is our crone. She carries the true history and memory of generations of witches with her, she has lived the longest through the most trials. She is the most experienced in the craft and takes it the most seriously. The journey is hers to end.
Except -- we have two other players left. Jen, who kicks off the trials, and Rio, who I'm assuming doesn't really have a trial but will be there at the end... because, you know. 💀
So why would Jen be first? What comes before the maiden?
And then she said it herself.
"I never fully identified as a witch. I am an 11th-generation root worker and midwife."
This one line almost puts her in a similar category to Rio, at least thematically. She's a witch but also more, neither and both. And she's a midwife, someone who helps facilitate birth. Someone who, at her best, supports and sustains life. Someone who allows the first phase of life, the maiden, to come into being.
And guess who that leaves us with at the end, the opposite bookend to Jen's life-giving power -- the mistress of death herself, Rio. The one to which all life must eventually return.
The trials aren't just about elements, or moon phases, or even different witch specialties, they're taking us through the stages of a witch herself. The stages of ALL women really (whether you are an actual mother with children or not, the mother phase is mid-life). Linking us all together, generation after generation.
So in this theory, the trials go like this:
Jen -> Alice -> Agatha -> Lilia -> Rio
Birth -> Maiden -> Mother -> Crone -> Death
Even the moon phases line up. Full moon is birth, a full-term pregnancy and then birth. Waxing moon, growth, renewal, hope, promise -- the maiden. Half moon, mid-life, no longer maiden, not yet crone, the in-between -- the mother. Waning moon, the last quarter of life -- crone. New moon, darkness, returning to the void -- death. They're playing fast and loose with the moon phase order, so I am too.
I can probably fudge the elements here too, but it's a little harder mostly because I don't know what Agatha's element is. I heard someone say spirit, but idk.
Anyway, what do you think? Am I on to something here? Batshit crazy? Would love to hear your thoughts in comments. :)
