Buddie: I'm excited to see what's next for Buck, Eddie and Chris
Going forward, unless it's for reference purposes, I will NO LONGER post anything about BT 2.0.
Before I explain why I won't be posting anything about BT 2.0, I'll begin with a brief summary. In 2021, I watched "The Shooting" live (related post linked here) and it was one of the best scenes in television I'd ever seen. Since then, I've probably watched it more than a hundred times and during the hiatus between seasons 4 and 5, I purchased every episode of 9-1-1's previous seasons and I spent the entire summer watching seasons 2 - 4 because I wanted to know more about Buck and Eddie's relationship. I noticed the emotional and casual intimacy they shared and when I compared it to the relationships they had with love interests, it was easy to see there was a huge and noticeable difference.
My excitement for the show dramatically increased before season 5 began in September 2021 and later that year, I found the Buddie fandom here on Tumblr and I was even more excited because I didn't know fandoms for TV shows even existed. By the time April 2022 rolled around, I finally decided to rejoin Tumblr (after being off it for a while) because I wanted to communicate with people who liked Buddie and the Buckley-Diaz family.
I started out by doing small posts regarding the things I noticed but a whole knew world was opened to me after I started reading METAs fanfics and theories along with viewing GIF sets and fanart. It didn't take me long to start posting my own METAs and speculations and I when I wanted to add GIFs to my posts, I taught myself how to make them on my iPad. In January 2023, I started posting some of the fanfics I wrote during season 5 and my fandom experience was further enhanced. It was an exciting time and I loved every minute of it.
Even though Season 5 was exhausting as hell because of BT 1.0, I still enjoyed it because of Eddie's PTSD arc and the Buckley-Diaz family scenes that were included. Eddie's my favorite character and I was happy to see him moving forward with his therapy and his life in general. BT 1.0 was dragged out for the entire season but season 6 looked promising... at least it did until it ended. I spent more than three months writing "Constructive Criticism" posts about all the things I didn't like and I was on the fence about whether I was even going to watch season 7. But after the str*kes ended and the promos for the new season began airing on a new network looked promising, I was excited again especially since the original showrunner (TM) had returned from LS and I couldn't wait to see where he would take Buck's and Eddie's storylines.
Similar to the title of episode 2x17, I should have been careful about what I wished for because even though it started out strong, after the opening disaster, it turned into a complete and utter dumpster fire and my experience in this fandom not only became exhausting; it was horrifically horrible because of a kiss between Buck and a PLOT DEVICE. Almost immediately, Buddie shippers started being harassed and were sent asks from blank blogs (they weren't anonymous for me because I don't accept those) telling shippers to stop posting about Buddie because they were never going to be better than BT and that we should just accept BT because they were CANON 🙄.
Anyway, needless to say, the last 7 months have been pure hell because of toxic BT Stans who have no boundaries, morals or fandom etiquette. Therefore, since I can't control anyone but myself, this morning, I made a decision that going forward, I'm turning the page on the BT 2.0 relationship because it's over and I'm tired of talking about it. I don't give a rat's ass about why TM chose to do what he did and why they didn't let Buck learn anything from it especially since this wouldn't have happened if whatever they were doing had ended in 7x5 but I digress.
Be clear, this is not a vague post at anyone in particular. I'm simply stating that I will no longer participate in fandom discourse about that relationship because I'm sick of it and I'm f~cking glad it's finally done. For me, it's taken a backseat just like EddieShannon, EddieMarisol, EddieAna, BuckAbby, BuckTaylor, BuckAli and BuckNaTalia because they're over and the characters are barely being mentioned in CANON, if at all. I'm done posting about these 'sunk ships' and the only time I'll include them in a blog post is when I have to reference them. Otherwise, I've moved on and I will not add anti BT or anti TK tags to my posts unless it's for blacklisting and filtering purposes because I don't give a flying f~ck about T.K. 2.0 anymore.
Now that it's over, I'm excited about writing Buddie METAs, speculations and theories again. Prior to season 8, I stopped writing them because I didn't want to and I didn't have the energy or the desire to do it due to all the toxicity. Since I was tired of being jump scared, I stopped watching live after 7x6 aired and even though I did watch 7x10, I wished I hadn't because it was a big nothing burger.
I'm excited because I don't have to worry about seeing Buck with that one-dimensional love interest who couldn't act his way out of a paper bag.
This Thursday, for the first time in months, I'll be watching live again and I might live blog the episode. I miss doing that and I can't wait to see what's going to happen with the call on the "Hotshots" set that has a fake firefighter hanging from the aerial and I wonder if Eddie will have flashbacks about the night him and Buck got struck by the same bolt of lightning.
The purpose of this long post is to say, I've moved on and I will no longer dedicate any of my blog space, writings or anything else to that relationship because the character doesn't deserve my attention. It's even more exhausting than BT 1.0 and they were in a relationship for the entirety of season 5.
Since I love Eddie, I'm ready to focus my METAs and speculation on what's next for him. I was planning to do a long post on 8x6 but I won't since I've already done two long posts about BT 2.0's breakup. So now my attention will be focused solely on Eddie until I finish the posts I want to do regarding his scenes. I loved the fact that he got the majority of the screen time at the end of 8x6 and when Buck showed up, that made it even better.
I ONLY SHIP BUDDIE! I ALWAYS HAVE AND I ALWAYS WILL.
I've turned the page and I'm excited to see where Buddie is going next. I'm ready for them to enjoy spending time together again without Temu third wheeling and infringing on their relationship. I'm ready for their son to come home so the Buckley-Diazes can spend time together again too. I don't know when Chris will return but I don't think it was a coincidence that there was a picture of him on the sofa table that's next to the door underneath a picture of Texas especially since it was in the middle of Eddie and Buck.
So, here's to me being excited for Buddie and ignoring anything BT 2.0 related 🥳🍾🥂🎆.
I'm ready to enjoy my Buddie fandom experience again by creating METAs, theories, speculation, GIF sets and continuing to write fanfics and I can't wait!

After I finished watching Centaurworld, I came up with a handful of essay questions one could apply to the show.
Posting them here for posterity. (They are spoiler-free. Feel free to answer one (or more) if you'd like.)
1. In the last episode, Elk claims he and Horse are the same. What evidence is there to support his claim? What evidence is there to refute it?
2. Do you think the final choice the Woman made at the end was the right one? Why or why not?
3. Discuss the various elements of modern culture and/or society, both good and bad, as reflected by least one of the following centaur groups: Bird-taurs, Centaurs (TM), Mole-taurs, Cat-taurs, Cold-taurs.
4. Use at least three of the characters listed below to discuss ways people try to attain comfortableness. Be sure to address the effectiveness of their technique. Characters: Ched, Comfortable Doug, Elk, Gebbrey, General, Glendale, Horse, Sunfish Merguy, Tree Shamans, Wamawink, Whale Shaman, Zulius
5. How might an adult utilize a show like Centaurworld to discuss one or more of the following topics with an audience under the age of 12? Be sure to reference specific scenes from the show. Topics: Depression, Suicide, Trauma, Loss, Self-Acceptance, Conflict Avoidance, Conflict-Seeking Behavior, Unhealthy Internalization of External Expectations, Boundaries, Recognizing and Respecting the Struggles Others Have While Still Respecting Yourself
Extra Credit: Why are you smudging up your answers with tears?
#or did you all forget about this show already?#i like to think that in a different reality i'm teaching classes on stuff like this at the university level#centaurworld#horse centaurworld#comfortable doug#glendale centaurworld#zulius#animation#animation analysis#man there are a lot of missing tags do i add them or what#pancake thoughts

Helluva Boss is Hella Sexist to Both Men and Women - Part 1
Just saw a video about Helluva Boss and whether its sexist or not with portraying its female characters and that got me thinking:
Are Helluva Boss' writers misogynists?
No. No one INTENTIONALLY writes misogynistic material unless you're Bruce Timm or Blizzard but what they're writing DEFINITELY COMES ACROSS AS SEXIST because the writers are so busy juggling every plot thread and character arc at once, they forget to write the main fucking characters apart from Blitzo. ESPECIALLY its female characters like Millie, Loona, Stella and Octavia.
You can use good faith arguments until you're blue in the face, but the truth of the matter is treating ALL of their main female characters as vehicles for the male characters' development with little characterisation beyond that IS misogynistic.
Lets start with Millie.
Millie is the most egregious case since she's one of the main employees at IMP yet we barely see Millie do anything other than be Moxxie's wife or a killing machine. And the fact her only s1 episode "where we see her family " plot getting sidelined for a Moxxie plot is unbelievable. Millie is by far the show's most promising character you can write mountains of stories about. But instead the show makes her a crazy lovable girlboss TM without any goals or aspirations and only exists as Moxxie's support system. Shes fine if shes meant to be a side character but shes in a main ensemble cast and you CANT have one of your main 4 characters be just the cool badass wife who can benchpress a tractor. That's fine for a tumblr art post, not for a character in a professional episodic animated tv show
Loona is supposed to be 21 or something yet she acts like every surly teenager who abuses her adoptive father Blitz, who's done nothing but love and cherish her. Yet she always beats him up whenever Blitz is merely in her vicinity. And so far we havent got an episode or even A SCENE where Loona and Blitz just sit down and unpack everything. That one flashback of Loona being from a hellhound orphanage/pound wouldve been so interesting to explore as a full episode, but it was only set up so Blitz can have a panic attack. So, much like Millie, Loona's character arcs and plotlines get shifted aside for more dumb scenes and Brandon Rogers references. Loona doesn't even change her attitude towards others throughout the series so far and remains as sardonic and bitchy as ever, cos heaven forbid we have our characters develop. Fans wont buy our overpriced merch of our furry waifu otherwise.
Octavia only exists in the story to make Stolas look like the most wholesome dada so the fans will completely forget hes in an unhealthy power-imbalanced relationship with Blitz, a lower class imp, purely for sex but then grows romantically attached to which Blitz adamantly refuses to see it that way. (Stolas also has imps as servants which he treats with apathy or contempt so already sets a bad precedent) but circling back to Octavia, Stolas claims to love his daughter very much but we've never shown that often BUT STOLAS DOESNT EVEN CARE ABOUT OCTAVIA UNLESS SHES IN ACTUAL DANGER COS HE GETS DISTRACTED BY HORNY BLITZY OR IS TOO IMCOMPETENT TO DO ANYTHING PROACTIVE
In Loo Loo Land, he learns to be more considerate of her feelings and comforts her after ignoring her throughout the whole episode. What happens in the next Stolas and Octavia episode? Octavia gets dismissed by Stolas AGAIN, this time by his ex-wife, when she asks about a star event THEY PLANNED TO GO TO, so she runs away to the human world to see it for herself. And yet who consoles her at the observatory scene? FUCKING LOONA OF ALL PEOPLE! WHY CANT STOLAS GO UP THERE, FINALLY FINDING HER AT LAST AND TALK TO HER? YKNOW THE WHOLE FUCKING POINT WHY STOLAS IS IN THE HUMAN REALM TO BEGIN WITH??! HE'S WAITING AROUND IN A SITCOM AUDIENCE WHILE BLITZO DOES HIS FAILING ATTEMPTS AT COMEDY
Octavia's own feelings about her relationship with her dad, how her parents divorce has affected her, her relationship with her mother Stella, ITS ALL SIDELINED for more self-indulgent Stolitz shipping. I feel so sorry for Octavia, she deserves better. She should be adopted by Blitz, he's more an actual father figure than Stolas.
And finally, Stella. Stella is an interesting case cos I have no qualms with having a bitchy abusive wife villain for Stolas to fight back against. Im totally fine with Stolas standing up to Stella and finally divorcing that bitch. But I really wish Stella had more presence throughout the first season, constantly bringing up tension and stress to piss off Stolas, since she likes tormenting him so much. Cos piling all of her insults and cartoonishly over the top bitchiness in one episode (The Circus) was too much and with how that episode woobified Stolas already, it only added to the problem. Nothing inherently wrong character-wise with Stella, shes established as a unrepentant bitch and stays that way. She is ultimately a vehicle for Stolas' character development but shes not a main character so its fine. The story is not about her.
But I find it pretty rich that the show treats being Loona being abusive to her father figure for no good reason like a joke, whereas Stella's abuse of Stolas about to slap him is portrayed as a serious, shocking moment.
So in conclusion, Helluva Boss DOES push several negative stereotypes of women. The one-note girlboss wife who's plotlines always get shafted in support of the male characters (Millie), the teenager who's desperate for paternal love from her father, leaving her bored and neglectful but the father in question does some bare minimum effort and that's suddenly okay in her eyes (Octavia) and the double standard that abuse is funny when a woman is hitting a man (Loona and Blitzo). Except when it isnt (Stella and Stolas)
This show is a fucking mess: part 1
(I will elaborate on the male characters treatment in another post. If I forgot anything or made a mistake, let me know, im always open for feedback!
And yes, I'm aware I omitted Verosika Mayday from this list because she's ultimately harmless as a character and only exists as a rival to Blitz. Also she only appeared in two episodes so I dont have much to say about her.)

live reactions to house of the dragon season 2, episode 4
spoilers beneath the cut
Starting off with Ghost Hunter Daemon (TM pending)
More young Rhaenyra!!!
OMG
Nah is this HOTD or a f’ing psychological horror film?!?!
Just how long has Daemon been hanging out in Harrenhal?
Poor Oscar’s face at Daemon’s suggestion😂😂😂
Are we getting Bloody Ben this ep?👀
Rhaenys can see Corlys in Alyn’s face. 100%.
I can only hope Corlys’s affair happened before he was with Rhaenys. They truly seem to care for one another.
Funny how last Lord Velaryon goes from fully supporting Rhaenyra to referring to her as “that woman”.
SHIT, the stone dragon’s head falling off- freaking foreshadowing…
Alicent, idk if I’d be asking questions you’re not sure you want the answers to.
Alicent using moon tea after having her own affair with a the Captain of the King’s Guard. Young Alicent would be rolling in her grave.
Finally, Corlys get some control here.
See, Criston Cole could at least be referring to Rhaenyra as “Princess.” Calling her “the Whore of Dragonstone” so publically speaks volumes about his character.
“You’re not fit for the white cloak.” Lord Darklyn spitting out FACTS.
“Yours will come in kind.” DAMN RIGHT IT WILL. And it can’t come soon enough.
Cole avoiding Harrenhal because he knows who’s waiting for him there 🤭
“That castle is more crippled than I am, Your Grace.”😂😂😂
Aegon is definitely echoing Joffrey here, with wanting to know exactly what his council knows and has been up to.
Ooo, Aegon vs Aemond seeds here…
“The two of you have been plotting without my authority?” Yes.
Between last episode and Aemond speaking Valyrian here, they must be feasting👀
Aemond speaking Velyarian with ease, Aegon not so much…
Aegon’s a monster, don’t get me wrong, but objectively speaking, I have to feel for someone in his position. He’s an actual puppet. He didn’t want this, but they made him take it. And now that he has it, everyone’s trying to take the actual power from his hands. You almost have to pity him.
Bruh if Alicent is pregnant I stg…
Larys is such a creep, I cannot. Matthew Needham is so great.
What in the awkward love triangle is going on here…
I’m calling it right now, somehow, some way, Larys is going to play a role in Criston Cole’s death.
Alicent doing research to verify if Rhaenyra was telling her the truth😭😂
Some editor out there PLEASE use Alicent’s speech here about “the significance of Viserys’s intentions died with him” years from now, when the series is complete. It will hit so hard.
Like, I get Harrenhal is haunted and Daemon is being targeted, but I just find it a bit difficult to believe that he truly is just *hanging out* and getting haunted instead of more actively trying to meet with lords and get soldiers. In my opinion, i think the writers are asking a tad bit too much of the viewers here. Have Daemon make progress during the daytime, only to be haunted and have setbacks at night. We’ve been led to believe he hasn’t been able to actually accomplish much at all yet.
How’d he know she was a strong?😂
Alys is a cat playing with her trapped mouse Daemon.😂
Maybe Alys is really Larys’s daughter. They both have a knack for creating chaos and taking advantage of whatever situation they find themselves in.
Willem Blackwood?!?! As in the young boy who slayed the Bracken at Storm’s End during Rhaenyra’s tour all those years ago?!?!
Lmao, the Blackwoods hate the Brackens so much, they’re really out here asking Rhaenyra and Daemon to finish off the Brackens first and THEN they will pledge themselves to her cause.😂😂😂
Aegon, this is a small council meeting, not a minstrel gathering for your entertainment.
Lmao, the frat boy king’s guards shoulder checking each other.
Aegon: I’m the king.
Alicent: … OK? … and?!
Alicent trying some tough love parenting, too bad she’s about 10 years too late.
Ser Gwayne is really like “I did NOT sign up for this, wtf?🤨”
Goodness, episode is already more than halfway over and we’re just now seeing Rhaenyra😅
Jaceeee, that is your MOTHER. I’d mind your tone.
Good, we want the Rhaenyra who means business. 🔥
Rhaenys😭😭😭 I’m already tearing up and she’s only just volunteered to go to Rook’s Rest. I will not survive this.
Rhaenyra telling Jace about the Song of Ice and Fire 💔
PLEASE, Rhaenys’s head gear being reminiscent of tiara- stoppp.💔💔💔 QUEEN.
I’ll probably say this every episode, but the music always slays. ALWAYS.🖤
Chills. And we’re only just starting.
Vhaegar was like, “oh, not yet? Fine by me.”
Cole really should have pursued a career in public relations instead with that little speech.
Idk if I can even watch this, because of the dragons suffering… the visuals, the sounds. it’s too much. I don’t think I’ll be able to rewatch these parts again.
Aegon realizing he was caught in the collateral damage…
Noooo, Rhaenys, you could have fled😭💔
Lmao, all the ground fighting just stops to watch the dragons fight instead.
Night night Cole.
Rhaenys having a SECOND oppurunity to flee, and yet not doing so…
You can tell she knows how this ends😭
Rhaenys, going out like a true Dragonrider… just like her beloved daughter always wanted for herself.
It was very rough seeing the dragons go at each other, but I’m comforting myself with the fact that Meleys and Rhaenys went out with each other, and that neither had to truly outlive the other.
Cole seeing just how replaceable he truly is. It’s what you get. *middle finger*
Will Cole have a moment here? Maybe rethink a lot of his life’s decisions? Or will he learn nothing from his very close brush with death?
OMFG. I WILL NOT BE CONVINCED AEMOND WOULDN’T HAGE ENDED AEGON IF COLE HADN’T BEEN THERE…
Wow, Cole actually preventing a kinslaying. It’s been a longggg time since he’s gotten a point in the good column.
…
…
…
Overall, I’m honestly a bit distraught from the events. The battle was very well executed, don’t get me wrong, but also was extremely tough to watch/listen to.
And just life that, the season is halfway over already😭
“Bend the knee to ME, or your house burns” THAT’s why the trailer with that audible clip was so rough sounding…
Regent Aemond is coming… don’t get me wrong, he’s crazy, but he’s playing the long game. You have to give me points for that.

This scene in canon legit made my blood boil cuz I was very much NOT aboard the "everyone welcomes Catra on the team" train yet, so this bit was... less than endearing. The writing team and target audience had obviously been in agreement with Catra being cute for a long time but... I had yet to be persuaded and wouldn't be for a good while.
I know its to show how out of her depth Catra is dealing with actual friendship and how much of a ball of sunshine Bow is, but 'specially with the lack of Angella resolution this cutesy shit felt like they were jangling keys in my face to distract me from the past. Bow here showing he hasn't forgotten what Catra did even in a minor way lifted the fug off this scene for me. Amazing how I can get SO angry yet be appeased by the smallest changes. This series is like emotional/narrative aikido. Or maybe I just take shit in media way too personally and need my little hand held thru every scene that isn't immediately solving my foremost issue. Regardless, great job.
I think this episode, and to some extent the two either side of it, creates a lot of tension in the audience because of how uncertain everything is with Catra and Adora. And I don't mean tension between people who think Catra's all fine and forgiven now and those who don't, it's a tension where we see the characters going on as if everything is normal when we, the audience, know it's not. I've been thinking about this from two points:
Firstly, it's from a story structure point of view. This part is where Catra, and Adora to a degree, have what they want (each other), but not what they need. The entire story so far, on a personal level to them, has been about wanting each other back with them - and now they've got it, so everything is fine, right? They want to believe it is, so they act like it is. But they haven't learnt what they needed to (now what that is is open to interpretation, but for this, I'll say they needed to open themselves to love), and so you have this really uncomfortably awkward situation where they're both forcing themselves to accept that this is it. This is all they needed. And it's not.
If I refer once again to John Yorke's excellent Into the Woods, this puts us firmly into Act 4 territory: Your character will have changed in some way, but not enough to achieve their goal and overcome their flaw. The weakness is revealed in a low moment of the story (for Catra and Adora, this moment is the end of Failsafe). These few episodes are, by design, supposed to evoke the same sort of response you've had. In regards to Catra getting angry about being called cute, that's a perfect example of her not having overcome a flaw.
The other way I've been looking at it is from another, more realistic, and how people with BPD (if you're playing Sweary bingo, cross that one off!) would react to being reunited with their Favourite Person(TM). It's an innate ability to many of us with Brain Please Don't to suddenly forget the shit that happened when that one person graces us with a tiny amount of love (or, at least, something that isn't outright hostility). And I think for Catra here, that's exactly what's going on. Adora saved her, welcomed her back, waited for Catra to stop being angry, and now everything is FINE. Catra doesn't want to think about the past, she doesn't want to think about her flaws (or Adora's) that led to them splitting apart and fighting each other for so long.
You can see throughout this episode, the stress of forcing herself to be fine just so it doesn't rock the boat with Adora, coming out in these moments where she gets intensely angry for just a moment. I think, ultimately, they've moved from the unstable 'we're apart' relationship to the unstable 'we're together' relationship, and both need to learn a little more about how they fix that.
So yeah, this scene and this episode aren't really about 'Catra's suddenly been forgiven by everyone', but more 'everyone thinks Catra's been forgiven but they haven't sorted out the real problems', and that drives the conflict for the latter half of the season.

in episode 4(i think), Edwin gets back a book he loaned to Monty, Valley of Dolls. Edwin says it is a modern masterpiece (it is published in 1966)
This may be a clever allusion to the doll spider TM, but from it's summary the book seems quite interesting.
It is about three young women, two of whom are performers. 'Dolls' in the book, refers to narcotics, which to me send unrelated to the spider.
I think that a character's reading choices say alot about them, so I wonder why Edwin likes this book so much.
#i wonder if mich of it 'went over (his) head' as he says because it's about women; because it takes place shortly post WW2 in '45; or#because of the drug references.#also in case anyone denies women characters being part of the equation. Edwin diagnoses three different women with 'Hysteria' during the#show. he isn't *completely* up-to-date.#about the dead boys#edwin payne#dbd netflix#dead boy detectives

sorry if this is enshrined elsewhere on ur blog, but what is the correct mash viewing order (for someone who know literally nothing about the show)
The correct viewing order (and the one I did going into the show with zero knowledge) is to start with season 4 episode 1 welcome to Korea. You will be able to follow along perfectly without watching s1-3, but the characters will occasionally reference past events so you get a Tragic Backstory TM. and then when you finish the show you go back and watch s1-3 as though they’re the prequel. 10/10 experience

Ok I powered through watching the episode on train WiFi and Tumblr is barely loading so I can't do much but I just had to say:
[cut for spoilers]
1) Loved this episode, I think they nailed it at least for me, and I'm satisfied. I knew we weren't going to get everything I could want and am not surprised the show decided to make the higher philosophy point rather than the political point, even though I would have loved the latter. I am very satisfied with Pisaeng and Kawi agreeing together to not change their future and for Pisaeng to have gone back to the present rather than relive their lives as result.
2) I think the award for most correct about what was going to happen goes to @marbles290 ! Congratulations, I will send you a clowned correctly gif later if nobody else does it first.
3) This show continues to do things that I didn't even think of but love; did anyone else interpret what happened this episode as Kawi figuring out by Pisaeng's behaviour that he had time travelled (since he saw him with the music box), and baiting him into confessing by pretending to have deja-vu?
4) On the same track, how is everyone interpreting Kawi being braver this time? I took it that hearing he and Pisaeng last is what gives him the confidence to try things and be more himself or at least less fearful of making a fool of himself.
4) while we didn't get anything about Pisaeng and Kawi joining the good fight (tm) or about marriage equality exactly, I would like to think that the show is subtly choosing to tell us to keep it up via Max, and giving the audience hope that marriage equality is or can be achieved in Thailand in the future.
One thing: if we could not get Not being clowned by the narrative then I wish he had just faded away rather than being at Pear's wedding, he doesn't deserve to even be near her happiness (though I did notice he was not in the friendship group pic on Pisaeng and Kawi's photo table and that was satisfying).
Something I need to think about more: what does it mean for character consciousness that Kawi made reference to Pisaeng's time travel in the hospital? Did Kawi and Pisaeng of the past forget that Pisaeng had time travelled after Pisaeng moves forward to the future, until the timelines converged again? Did just Pisaeng forget, so Kawi could not make reference to it anymore until the timeline has caught up? I'm inclined to the latter because if I were in a relationship and knew they were going to do something reckless for me but they didn't know about it for years, I would be desperate to tease them about it once they had finally caught up too lol (the other option is they both retain their memories, of course, but then they both would have known in advance that the time travel was taking place so I don't think that one is right. But it's an option!)
This show is definitely winning an award from me for the biggest turn around from expectation to delivery (positive) lol. I've had a lot of fun!
Very excited to read everyone's thoughts when I can get Tumblr to load 💕
@waitmyturtles @dribs-and-drabbles @pandasmagorica @rocketturtle4 @thegalwhorants @visualtaehyun there are so many more people I am forgetting, pls forgive my elder millennial brain I will find you later!

Heya! I really appreciate how manage to get each fanfic you write to really carry the voice of the character youre writing about! Like how in the lucifer/angel fic a lot of the text is packed with lucis inner monologue compared to how much dialogue goes on, really gets to how lucifer is really in his own head, and just from the words you use and how you write a reader can see a lot of that inner monologue consists of overthinking and all his other little quirks hes gained from so much isolation and rejection over the years.
When I thought about it, compared to the vox/alastor fic you wrote, its much more dialogue, and a lot of the internal thoughts and text is more observations about vox (some of them sarcastic, others analyzing things like vox's body language) and amusing descriptions of the situation.
Im just wondering, do you plot all these details in your head, or do you jot them down on paper? IMO it seems like in general some fanfics struggle with keeping the character's voice when describing things outside of the dialogue ,and tend to sound like its being narrated/observed by the writer, rather than a look inside how the character thinks/talks. It can be a tricky thing to really get a characters voice down TBH
Thank you VERY much! You've basically just gone and told me, "Hey, you know that thing that you really enjoy doing and is important to you? Yeah, that's great!" hahaha, so please know that this message is greatly appreciated. I LOVE.
I am a huge outliner for every single fic I write, except the occasional single-scene NSFW oneshots that kinda write themselves! But character voice is usually actually not heavily involved in that outline, haha.
I think for my first Proper Fic (TM) on AO3, The Sword of Damocles is Swinging, which was a 60k word character study of Hawks from My Hero Academia, I did do a lot of outlining regarding his characterization and how I wanted to portray that because I felt like if I didn't write all of it down then I wouldn't be able to wrap my head around him. But this type of thing has very quickly become a matter of "code-switching" into a character's head for me, basically. Characterization has always been really important to me, and I remember back when I was in my "1k words is an accomplishment I'm genuinely very proud of" stage of writing, it was the thing that made me the most nervous, because I was afraid of not being able to write characters that felt like themselves.
What actually really helped with this is that I spent like 4 years doing Homestuck fantroll OC roleplay, haha. It was the perfect combination of "these are my characters so I automatically know all there is about them" + "but they are their own distinct characters with different personalities and inner voices, so it's still great practice," and then ofc roleplay being a very rewarding, collaborative, and social activity as well that gets posted in smaller, easier-to-write chunks than an entire fanfic.
For the Hazbin characters, I mostly rewatched some of their big scenes (like most of the Angel episode, or Lucifer's intro) for a reminder and a point of reference, paying particular attention to their body language, the intended vibe of how they're portrayed, and the way they talk, but it's less note-taking and more like that moment before a choir starts singing where the teacher blows a whistle to remind them where that note is, haha.
Anyway, basically, we're all reaping the rewards of me being a long-term roleplayer who's really into writing in third-person limited rather than omniscient. 🤭
An example of one of my actual outlines below the cut if you're still interested! It's chapter one from Happily Ever After, and Other Shit Nepotism Can't Buy because I am Not sharing my nsfw outlines, HAH:
As you can see, some moments are quoted almost directly bc I thought of neat lines while outlining, while others are fairly loosely outlined because I know it's going to be easy to write once I get there and I'm not accidentally already writing it in my brain. Sometimes large chunks of scenes write themselves, like the entire ending to this fic:
#ask#personal#my writing#writing advice#kinda#long post#t#anonymous#the real blessing is that I'm writing in third person y'all#because you can bet your ass I spent ALL those four years writing in Ye Olde Homestuck Second Person POV (TM)#switching over to third person was a doozy#I actually have a couple old fantroll oneshots on my AO3 feel free to check them out if you're curious#I'd say mind the cannibalism but. y'know. you all know what you've signed up for.

(sharing this silly thing again since I deleted my twitter and I’m still proud of it):
So I have a (supremely self-indulgent) fan theory that Perennial and Autonomy Itself are somehow Kamala Cadence and Independence, respectively - and I’m convinced enough about this that I am presenting my evidence! Here! ->
Evidence Piece 1: some repeated and pretty explicit comparisons between Clem as the Witch in Glass and Kamala as the Waking Cadent - see for example this exchange from PARTIZAN 36:
(“is all I’ll say”……….)
Evidence Piece 2: repeated references to a past relationship between Perennial and Autonomy Itself - “your God and its terrible relationship with Perennial” from Chrysanth in episode 30 and this from episode 36, for example:
(“a broken relationship”?)
Evidence Piece 3: the parallel between the pieces of the Exemplar scattered on Partizan and the pieces of Independence scattered on Quire
(and the associated thematic parallels between Autonomy Itself and Independence as these powerful beings that nevertheless are heavily reliant on followers to enact their will)
Evidence Piece 4: the similarity between Perennial’s doctrine of recurrence and some of the beliefs expressed by Kamala as the Waking Cadent - thinking especially about the “nothing was ever truly destroyed” line in TM 45:
(also that line is kind of support for my own whole argument here haha)
Evidence Piece 5: (this one is maybe a coincidence, but) the Divine Cadence being used to send Valence’s broadcast of Autonomy Itself’s message in episode 15:
(“a great name in this moment”?)
Evidence Piece 6: (maybe a silly one, but) “Autonomy Itself” sounds like the sort of thing someone called “Independence” might rename themself if they were trying to start a more positive chapter in their life, imo
Evidence Piece 7: (related, less silly) “Autonomy Itself” could also be read as a reference to the Autonomous Diaspora, where Independence was originally from
(thank you for your time)

Im just finishing Roguemaker and the whole time you just felt like My People (TM) which was definitely heightened by the bloopers and then you made a homestuck reference in the science episode and I damn near lost my mind
You didn't mention your tumblr but I figured there was a 99.5% chance you had one and luckily you included your twitch handle in the post you made about rereading homestuck and tumblr graciously placed it in the search results for me xD
ok I have a few things to say to this:
1. lol. lmao, even 2. this reminds me of the time that homestuck was mentioned on skyjacks and it knocked the wind out of me, so I'm glad I could provide that experience to someone else lol 3. well that's one point for the tumblr search function, I guess. for those keeping score at home, the tumblr search function now has one (1) point. 4.It's been a while since we recorded that so I had to go back into the transcripts to remember what I said and I can't believe I didn't figure it anyway since yes sir we are literally under siege by planet fucking jupiter continues to live in my head rent free to this day 5. in re: Your People(TM) yeah, Emma hasn't read homestuck but we're all extremely online fandom nerds, basically (ok, well not all of us. I think some of the cast members are like. normal.) I mean, Emma and I met in college at an (unchartered) Steven Universe screenings club that she ran, so yeah. I was going to say that this tells you basically everything you need to know about us, but then I remembered the particular reputation that the su fandom has gained over the last few years so uh. your view on what this means about what we are like as people may or may not be accurate. (In terms of me specifically, though, I've been on tumblr since I was 13 and spent a majority of my adolescence being really into homestuck and you can basically extrapolate everything about what I am like today based off of that)
#there was no discourse in the steven universe screenings club. only dakotagem.#playing chasma ''extremely online nerd'' jump cannon is only barely acting in that i was more or less just doing my 15-year-old self#i mean i know chasma is 19 but thats the vibe#roguemaker#...technically#im trying to think of how many people in the cast/crew have read homestuck and i think theres four of us (myself included)#rook answers things#aliceundrground

9-1-1 is introducing the show and the characters on a new network in Season 7 but...
doing that won't erase the things that happened in seasons 1-6 and those episodes can still be streamed and reruns of them are continuing to air on the USA network. Therefore, everything that took place during those seasons has to remain on a continuum. The characters' begins episodes are still there as well as the growth and development (or lack thereof for some, looking at one character in particular) still has to be accounted for.
Reminder, the old, new and returning audiences can still watch the previous 6 seasons so the main characters won't be changing. Will they continue to grow and strive for better? Yes but their pasts won't change simply because the show moved networks and changed the day of the week when it will air.
The adults of the main cast are all still first responders, i.e., LAFD firefighters, an LAPD field sergeant and a Metro Dispatch operator.
Here are just a few of the things that were reiterated about the characters during recent interviews and in articles.
Bathena is still married and they're empty nesters. They will be on the cruise they were boarding at the end of 6x18.
Henren is still married with a son and they're seeking to adopt the baby Karen received a call about in 6x18. Also, Hen will be interim captain while Bobby's away the same way she was in 6A.
Madney has a daughter and they're still "getting married" (it won't go smoothly). Reminder, season 6 ended after their proposal.
Buddie is still VERY IMPORTANT in each other's lives and it's so much so that the showrunner intends to hit their dynamic in every episode of this shortened season. Therefore Buck and Eddie’s 'ship and the Buckley-Diaz family will be front and center. Also, Buck's still searching for happiness/answers (Eddie and Chris) like he was at the end of season 6. And Eddie and Chris are still navigating Chris growing up (like they were at the end of season 6) and now Chris is starting to date. Who will Eddie call for assistance with their his son, his partner, Buck who's also Chris' second dad legal guardian.
Everything that happened from 2018 through 2023 isn't going away which means the new stories/storylines that will be included in season 7 still need to connect to what's happened in the past.
Some things are changing, the network from FOX to ABC; the weekly air day from Mondays to Thursdays and it's a new season but all the other characteristics included in the show aren't. The characters/ships the existing audience knows and loves will still be there except they have a new home/network. The new audience will be introduced to them but they still have to be able to "reference" the characters' pasts to learn more about and to understand them and how will they do that? By watching the previous six seasons.
9-1-1 will continue to be packed with adventurous emergencies (like they were from seasons 1-4) and the first responders will continue to be the found family they've been for the past six years.
Side note: since TM (showrunner) is back, it appears the show is returning to its roots of fairly distributing storylines amongst the main cast instead of sidelining some which IMO, is a good thing.

Ranking New Who Doctors by how funny they were on regeneration energy
I tried just going for the Doctor, not for any plot but sometimes it was hard to separate haha. I do think I kept the intertwining. At a minimum though! Drumroll please……
As for NUMBER 1: The man. The icon. The TENTH Doctor.
Counting the children in needs episode I think he‘s the one who gets the most silly regeneration time (also since there is practically no time jump between regenerating and the story whereas for the others, at least SOME time has passes or is skipped pretty soon afterwards
The episode that made me go "wow I actually wanna write down this quote now because it‘s so cool“
Wake up, be badass
Be woken up by the TEA? How British do you want to be??
Just let the poor man breathe for a second Jackie, good lord
Getting up earlier than he should to help Rose and her family after the attack is so heartwarming
And also irresponsible. You are an irresponsible man. You are in NO shape to steer anything, let alone a space- and timeship
NUMBER 2: the positivity after the angst that was 12~ the THIRTEENTH Doctor!
Doesn‘t know what a tongue is, apparently (she has never NOT had one)
….let‘s work on your perception of 19 seconds, huh?
Literally creates a full ass Sonic screwdriver with a bunch of spoons and a can do attitude
"Half an hour ago, I was a white haired Scotsman“
At this point I feel like crashing after regenerating has become custom
Literally forgets the name that makes up everything she holds herself to be
NUMBER 3: my man! The Doctor ever. The TWELTH Doctor!
More serious than the ones before
Takes getting used to since he is QUITE a different Doctor compared to 11
Grumpy old man tm
Just go to bed buddy, it‘s okay
Oh no the eyebrows have declared independence!
How dare Strax and Clara not wear labels, EVERYONE would confuse them like that
Really manages to find that sweet spot between being silly and high on regeneration energy while also already showing the character of the Doctor to come
DINOSAUR!
….sad Dinosaur. Make sad Doctor
NUMBER 4: The long awaited. The facial anomaly. The FOURTEENTH Doctor!
We don‘t see much of it :(
Absolutely no one can go "What? waHAT? WHAT?“ like David Tennant
No don‘t give the Dalek man ide- STOP IT
Reference to 13! "60 minutes ago I was this really brilliant woman“
Why the hell do you just have a plunger lying around?
13 was the first one sensible enough to maybe… NOT wreak her ship with her regeneration and do it safely outside on land. And what do you do? GET IN IT AND CRASH IT! Men and their vehicles, I swear…/j
NUMBER 5: probably the most underrated Doctor of them all. The NINTH Doctor!
Mostly wasn‘t seen at all
He‘s implied to have been travelling for a bit before, just didn‘t happen to have the time to check himself in a mirror
Literally all we get is "look at the ears…“
He gets extra points for going first so they couldn’t do much
Also I love him and he‘s silly enough anyways
If you want to, you can pretend all of Rose is just him running on a high of regeneration energy
He‘d blow up a house even without though
And finally, NUMBER 6, last but not least (though im this specific case… last and least): the ELEVENTH Doctor!
Fuck you doing making a literal child COOK for you, a several hundred year old guy, IN THE MIDDLE OD THE NIGHT
Stop spitting your shit everywhere it‘s disgusting and rude, who the hell do you think has to clean that up? Cause I know you won’t!
The ole crash again
Feels like more like a sitcom bit than a sci-fi Doctor Who scene, probably due to Moffats writing background
What is your obsession with food??
An apple a day keeps the Doctor away.. truly truly
You are really really bad at landing your ship in the right time…. But we know that much already
#doctor who#the ninth doctor#the tenth doctor#the eleventh doctor#the twelfth doctor#the thirteenth doctor#the fourteenth doctor#christopher eccleston#david tennant#matt smitt#peter capaldi#jodie whittaker

(sorry if this is random) but ive rlly enjoyed seeing ur recent tms art with full backrounds its fun to look at. btw what does the sign in ur last post say ?
(Post the anon is referring to)
I was waiting for someone to ask!
I'm glad you're enjoying it!! It's only just recently (as in, probably around a year ago?) that I finalized an art style that I want TMS's backgrounds to have. I want to include them more with TMS art, just to have it seem more... immersive? And to help with worldbuilding / consistency.
To answer the question though, the sign says "Bright Star Village," its the name of the neighborhood/residential area in Ohwell where the main 4 live. I imagined scene 1 from episode 1 taking place almost right after they began walking to the park LMAO.
Semi-related ramble below
What I really need to do is continue building my library of TMS backgrounds but fuck, to tell the truth I just HATE making them lol. Really need to hire someone who can copy the style, but tiny ass budget is saying "you can do it yourself :D"
On a related note, the scene composition in episode 1 just- AAAH THERE BARELY IS ANY?? IT BOTHERS ME SO MUCH. Truly something I hate on my part, I was NOT GOOD at laying out scenes AT ALL. There needs to be more dynamic shots and ACTUAL layout, a lot of things just look kinda flat and not immersive? Like there's no clear indication of 'THIS is where they are in the world,' just 'This is what they are doing.'
I know it's not just that it didnt have backgrounds, I was just really inexperienced in boarding. Just— aa. Lol. (That, and there were some issues with somebody I've since dissociated with rushing me that I don't wish to get into, :() but there's so much I don't like about how I made the visuals for Friend Fiction. At least I've learned a ton since and have been applying that knowledge to episode 2+.
If I ever get a bigger financial support system for TMS and the chance to remake Friend Fiction with the art direction of the series going forward one day, I definitely will.

So if Jigen was Lupin's first heist
Yes yes this is a spin off/mini-series
But I present Fujiko and Jigen's dialouge, specifically at the end of Part 6 when they have to snap Lupin out of the trance
Their dialouge parallels each other, but more specifically, Jigen could be referring to the events in Lupin Zero. Who the fuck wouldn't forget busting the US army for bootlegging whisky in the fashion that those two idiots did?
Who would never forget their very first heist be your knight in shining armor's heart?
And Fujiko is also right. When hasn't she been able to just exist and get the man is on his knees like Denji with Makima? The answer is never. Lupin is the only man Fujiko constantly keeps coming back to because he gets her results, and Lupin is dumb enough to keep falling for the same trick even after she just leaves, yet most of the he's okay with it as Jigen slaps him up Gibbs-style. Not only does she steal the treasure, she keeps stealing his heart. Was it during their first meeting? Who knows?
And must I bring up the Part 6 Episode Balcony scene for the 20th time? Where Fujiko and Jigen settle their differences, realize they're both crazy to be around Lupin for this long, and Fujiko calls out Jigen for being a romantic and he kind of admits it?
This whole thing has been leading up to this.
In conclusion
Jigen is the cat TMS I know you're here.
Okay serious talk over (disclaimer everything beyond this is a shitpost)
Now I have a theory.
Y'all remember the ending to Part 5? The ambiguous one? What if that Lupin 3 was actually Lupin 2? Somehow Fujiko knew Lupin's dad like maybe he slept with one of her guardians (after she was born of course because then things would get really weird really fast) and years later like Lupin the Third, Lupin the Second is maybe a clone or has the power to not age. And she mistakes Lupin 2 for Lupin 3 at one point in time, possibly Lupin III was actually Lupin II throughout the entirety of Part 5 who fucking knows. 2 and 3 easily could have switched places between Parts 4 and 5, everyone left separately alone on that train in Italy. We don't know what happened between that departure and the beginning of Part 5 only that
1. Lupin and Fujiko got married after the divorce with Rebecca.
2. Jigen and Lupin met back up in France after the divorce with Fujiko.
Or maybe even 2 and 3 swapped places like- 2 did the proposal cause 3 knew he would be turned down immediately and 3 got to live the marriage life and realized it sucked. But that contradicts Jigen and Lupin living together because they get along just fine living in their hideout apartments in 5 and 6.
MAYBE MAYBE 2 WENT OFF AND MARRIED FUJIKO WHILE 3 STAYED WITH JIGEN? AND IN PART 5 DEPENDING ON THE EPISODE THEY KEPT SWAPPING PLACES?
MAYBE 2 AND THREE HAVE BEEN PLAYING TAG THROUGH THE ENTIRE SERIES
how do I know this? The latex female body suit.
In Lupin Zero, we find out Lupin 2 snuck into the competition in a female blow up body suit.
In Lupin Zero: First Contact, how do Lupin and Jigen first meet there? Lupin is in a female blow up body suit in lingerie and calls him 'darling'.
And how do we know Lupin 3 isn't really Lupin 3 at the end of Part 5? The latex mask.
Nothing is canon, yet everything is canon because of what we can't see under the mask.
However if Lupin 2 dies at the end of Lupin Zero this was just me vomiting my insanity onto my phone's keyboard.
But for my next trick I will now make you all believe it was actually Lupin who fucked Zenigata in that interrogation room instead of Fujiko in TWCFM
