GAN Launches Internet Gambling for Parx Casino in New Jersey
LONDON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–GAN plc (“GAN” or the “Company”), an award-winning developer and supplier of enterprise-level B2B Internet gaming software, services and online gaming content in the United States, today announces that GAN and Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment, Inc. trading as ‘Parx Casino’ (“Parx Casino”) have launched Internet gaming in the State of New Jersey now available online 24/7 since Friday October 4, following a three-day soft launch period.
Parx Casino patrons can also link their Reward Card online to their counterpart Internet gambling account, enabled by GAN’s U.S. patented integration framework. This represents the second U.S. State that GAN has launched Parx Casino in, following the launch of Internet sports betting and Internet casino gaming in Pennsylvania on June 24 and July 15, respectively.
Highlights
Parx owns and operates the #1 land-based casino property in Pennsylvania located a short distance from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania’s largest City. In the most recent fiscal year ended June 30, 2018 Parx Casino generated $570m from slot machines and table games on-property representing a 18% share of the Pennsylvania’s $3.2bn gaming market.
GAN’s US-patented technology enables Parx Casino patrons enrolled in the on-property loyalty program, to sign up online and instantly link their reward cards to their online account permitting those guests to trade in their reward points earned from on-property gaming for cash online and/or to earn rewards points from Internet gaming and/or sports betting, to be subsequently redeemed on-property.
Management Commentary
Dermot Smurfit, Chief Executive Officer of GAN commented:
“Launching the largest casino in Pennsylvania online has now logically extended across the border into New Jersey, extending their reach into New Jersey’s fast-growing and established Internet gambling market. This represents an incremental revenue opportunity for GAN and is a logical extension of our technology infrastructure to serve Parx Casino patrons who routinely cross the invisible border between these two populous States.”
John Dixon, Chief Operating Officer of Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment, Inc commented:
“GAN has now ably demonstrated it abilities to serve our business needs in multiple States which aligns with the cross-border nature of our existing retail gaming customer base. GAN’s launch in New Jersey was a case study in on-time delivery and professional excellence and will enable our patrons to gamble online in either Pennsylvania or New Jersey, as they wish.”
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)
For investors and Industry analysts: The core of a “Platform” from both a technical and regulatory standpoint is the Player Account Management System i.e. where highly sensitive customer and player activity data is stored and processed. Other elements of Platform can include a sportsbook transaction engine, gaming content integrations, payment services, marketing services, trading services and other ancillary activities. However, the core functionality to describe B2B systems and services as a ‘Platform’ is the Player Account Management System. This is also the layer of B2B activity which tends to require regulatory approval as a ‘Platform’ since it is the focal point of data and player security. Therefore, without the Player Account Management System, a service provider might be offering very valuable B2B functionality but not in the strictest sense a ‘Platform’ (source: Regulus Partners).
Pennsylvania’s population of 12.8m is +42% larger than New Jersey’s population of 8.9m.
There are currently twelve (12) land-based casino properties in Pennsylvania which together generated $3.2bn in land-based gross gaming revenue in fiscal year 2017/18 ending June 30, 2018.
Internet casino gaming in the neighbouring State of New Jersey is a fast-growing market which generated $221m in Gross Gaming Revenue in CY2017 (+30% Year on Year) and is anticipated to grow +20% Year on Year to ~$266m in CY2018E.
Patent 8,821,296 was issued to GAN plc in September 2014 and governs the automated authentication, card linkage and intra-system messaging between the on-property Casino Management System and GAN’s Internet gaming system. Already proven for Simulated Gaming, the launch of the real money Internet casino gaming for Parx Casino is anticipated to generate new on-property visitation by Internet-first players as well as increase visitation rates among patrons who first engage on-property with Parx Casino then subsequently play online from home, accumulating reward points from online play.
GAN has licensed its US Patent fourteen (14) times to major US casino operators and Parx Casino is the third land-based casino operator to license the Patent for real money Online Gaming following the licensing & services agreements between GAN and Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment, Inc. announced November 2014; MDDC (The Borgata) announced December 2016; and Ocean Resort Casino announced July 2018.
The Federal ban on sports betting enshrined within Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act 1992 (“PASPA”) was repealed by the Supreme Court of the United States on May 14, 2018 permitting individual US States to pass their own sports betting laws.
Pennsylvania passed legislation bill HB 271 on October 26, 2017 (signed into law on October 30, 2017) enabling land-based casinos in the State of Pennsylvania to launch real money Internet gaming and (subject to the repeal of PASPA) Internet sports betting.

Alcatel Go Flip 3 – Review 2019
The Alcatel Go Flip 3 ($99 at Metro)—known by various names on various carriers, including the Alcatel Smartflip at AT&T and Cricket—is the first affordable flip phone to have just enough smartphone features that you won’t feel completely exiled from society. Although it looks a lot like previous Go Flip phones, it performs radically better. For starters, it now has decent battery life, solid call quality, and the kind of contact sync and messaging features it needs in 2019. That’s going to satisfy a lot of folks who don’t want a flat-screened slab, but also still want to be able to get their WhatsApp messages. And that makes the Go Flip 3 an Editor’s Choice voice phone on AT&T, Cricket, Metro, T-Mobile, and wherever else it pops up.
Design, Calling, and Battery
The Go Flip 3 is an unassuming, black plastic flip phone with a mass market price, not an artisanal small-batch luxury experience like the Light Phone II or Punkt MP02. It has a small 1.44-inch, 128-by-128 color screen on the outside, and a larger, somewhat grainy 2.8-inch, 320-by-240 LCD on the inside. The rubbery keys physically depress pleasantly. There’s a standard 3.5mm headphone jack and a micro USB charging port, as well as space for a microSD card (up to 32GB) under the removable battery. It comes with an integrated micro USB charger.
The phone measures 4.13 by 2.09 by 0.75 inches (HWD) and weighs 4.16 ounces. It isn’t super slim, but it’ll still fit in a pocket. It isn’t waterproof or rugged, but it’s also simple enough that it can probably take some drops without too much damage. There’s no exposed glass here, and the back can fly off without any real harm done. That said, the ultra-rugged Sonim XP3 will clearly take much more of a beating.
The Go Flip 3 connects to LTE and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, with LTE bands 2/4/5/12/25/26/41/66/71. It also falls back to 3G and 2G. That will give it extended range on T-Mobile’s network, as well as Sprint’s when it inevitably comes out on that carrier. It doesn’t have AT&T’s new band 14, which also helps extend range and is needed for public safety use, but it has the basic nationwide band 5, so it will do just fine. Government employees should turn to the Sonim XP3 instead, which does have band 14.
Call quality is good. The phone supports HD calling (but not EVS, the second level of HD) and the earpiece is loud and clear. In a loud environment, the phone worked hard to cancel out noise, resulting in a few audio artifacts but generally comprehensible speech. The speakerphone is loud, and shows a little bit of clipping and distortion at top volume. Wi-Fi calling is the one real quality fail, but it often is; on a weak or cluttered 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal, you’re going to get dropouts.
The phone works as a hotspot on T-Mobile but, oddly, not on AT&T. Don’t expect major hotspot speeds: The Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor here only supports relatively slow Category 4 LTE, so you’ll get 10-20Mbps LTE speeds rather than much higher.
It’s funny: The older Go Flip 2 also has a Snapdragon 210, but it doesn’t perform nearly as well as the new model does. Alcatel said that KaiOS 2.5 is much more efficient than the KaiOS 1.0 on the older phone, and it really shows.
The Bluetooth 4.2 connection paired easily with a Plantronics Bluetooth headset but there was some loss of voice quality over the connection. I don’t see that on $700 smartphones with Bluetooth 5.0 and AptX, but this phone is absolutely on par with other cheaper or older phones. You can also use a headset through the standard 3.5mm jack.
Battery life is fine. It isn’t eternal, but I got 7 hours, 48 minutes of talk time and at least three days of standby on the 1,350mAh battery. That’s much better than previous Alcatel flips and shoule be enough for most people.
Messaging and Apps
KaiOS, which is based on the same core that previously gave us Firefox OS, sits on the fence between a feature phone and a smartphone operating system. It’s really rendering a lot of HTML, and the apps are primarily HTML5 containers that run offline. The OS has become popular in India thanks to the low-cost Jio Phone, a device that has brought tens of millions of people online for the first time.
On the phone’s home screen, there are icons for Google Assistant, Google Maps, YouTube, and the KaiOS Store. The store has an odd little selection of apps, including a few health apps and a few games, but most notably it has WhatsApp, Facebook, and Twitter.
The phone makes major strides in messaging for a flip, and a lot of it comes down to Google Assistant. Anywhere there’s a text entry field, you can press a button and dictate text instead. This is a big deal. It really gets around the difficulty of entering text using a number pad. And thanks to KaiOS, you can enter your messages not only in SMS, but in Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp. The texting app and WhatsApp receive emoji and pictures and can send photos, but not emoji. Not all messages are equal, though. When you flip the phone open, a popdown will show new texts. But to see new messages in another app, you need to open the app.
You can also create groups, block numbers, and use your own music for ringtones, but I didn’t see an option to assign different ringtones to different callers.
Google Assistant is good for more than just messages; hold down the button and ask it a question, and it will respond with Google answers. I wish it could be triggered from the action button on a Bluetooth headset, though—you actually have to hold down the center button on the phone’s D-pad to make it work.
The email program handles Gmail and other POP/IMAP systems well, including rendering HTML emails. Things also sync on this phone in a way they don’t on other flips. You can sync your contact list with Google or Outlook, and you can sync your calendar with Google. It’s delightful to not have to put in your contacts by hand. Because this isn’t a full Android device, it can’t use Google’s Find My Phone feature, so KaiOS set up its own—if you set up a KaiOS account, it will help you find a lost phone.
The onboard music player, oddly, wouldn’t play music I had stored on an SD card—I had to transfer it into internal memory. Once I did that, though, it had excellent support for metadata and album art. The video player can play videos from the SD card, but they look small and grainy on the low-res screen. There’s also an FM radio, which sounds very clear.
I downloaded a few games. They’re basic, but they’re games, which is more than most flip phones have nowadays. I’m particularly amused by a Fruit Ninja ripoff that assigns numbers to each fruit and lets you slice them with the number pad. Other built in apps include a calculator, an alarm clock, and a voice recorder.
There’s one way in which KaiOS falls short: It has no parental controls. If you’re looking for a flip phone where you can forbid web access for kids, you can’t do that on The Go Flip 3. You also can’t use T-Mobile FamilyMode to lock down the phone, as it requires an Android or iOS app. That’s frustrating.
The less said about the phone’s single 2-megapixel camera, the better. Photos in even decent indoor light tend to be blurry and indistinct. Outdoors, everything looks slightly out of focus. Videos are washed-out 352-by-288 frames. There is also no front facing camera, so don’t expect to do video calling here.
A Flip Phone for 2019
There are millions of Americans who want a flip phone for simple calling, but who need access to the best possible coverage and may also want to use common over-the-top texting apps like Facebook and WhatsApp. The Go Flip 3 fits the bill: smart enough to make you part of modern society, but simple enough that you don’t have to be part of modern society if you don’t want to be.
The Alcatel Go Flip 3 replaces the Sonim XP3 as our Editors’ Choice. It’s a tough call, because while they’re both flips, and both good, they’re different kinds of phones. The Sonim is rugged, super-loud, and super-reliable. If all you need is voice calling, period, the Sonim is the superior choice. But so many people rely on things like texting, WhatsApp, and calendar sync in their lives that I think Alcatel’s approach has broader appeal. That makes it our Editors’ Choice on AT&T and anywhere else you find it.
Alcatel Go Flip 3
Bottom Line: The Alcatel Go Flip 3 is the feature phone we’ve been waiting for, with just enough smart features to make it convenient to use.

Atlantic Records Passed Up The Chance To Sign Ariana Grande and Now Consider This Their Biggest Regret
With Atlantic Records being one of the most successful recording labels in America, they have represented some of the most highly accredited musicians over the years.
From Aretha Franklin to Bruno Mars, this record label has worked with a wide range of talent, some of which have even made music history.
Ariana Grande | Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for AG
Although they’ve work with a long list of musicians throughout the years, there is one artist the label passed up the chance to represent and doing so was something they still regret to this day.
The label revealed that Grande was ‘the one that got away’
Atlantic Records may work with some of the most talented artists in the industry, but even they haven’t always gotten it right when it has come down to signing musicians to their label.
On October 3, the label took to Twitter to answer a few fan questions under the hashtag #WorkingatAtlantic.
In addition to talking about new talent they are excited to have join their team, Atlantic Records president, Pete Ganbarg, revealed something none of us would have ever guessed.
According to Ganberg, the biggest mistake the label has ever made was passing up the chance to sign Ariana Grande when she was an up and coming pop star.
“We met with Ariana Grande when she was very young, her talent was obvious but, as she was coming off broadway and TV, we weren’t sure how that would eventually be maximized for a broader audience. We got that one wrong,” Ganbarg replied to the tweet.
2. If there is one, which artist for you is the one that got away? WE MET WITH ARIANA GRANDE WHEN SHE WAS VERY YOUNG. HER TALENT WAS OBVIOUS BUT, AS SHE WAS COMING OFF BROADWAY AND TV, WE WEREN’T SURE…
— Atlantic Records (@AtlanticRecords) October 3, 2019
Since Grande wasn’t too well-known in the industry at that time, the label never thought that she would reach the level of stardom she is at today.
The label soon realized that they made a huge mistake not signing the singer when they had the chance and are continuing to live with this regret.
After being passed up by Atlantic Records, Grande signed with Republic Records in 2011 and went on to become a chart-topping success.
Grande has since topped Billboard charts with her award-winning albums and hit singles. Her music has even earned her one Grammy Award, one Brit Award, two Billboard Music Awards, and three American Music Awards.
Forbes has even ranked Grande amongst the highest-paid celebrities in 2019. Earlier this year, Time named her as one of the 100 most influential people in the world for the second time.
All things happen for a reason
Although Ariana Grande was passed up by one label, she hasn’t looked back since signing with Republic Records.
Following the release of her first studio album, Yours Truly, Grande’s popularity skyrocketed and her career continues to reach new heights.
Most recently, Grande became the third female artist with multiple number-one debuts for her album Thank U, Next as well as her hit track, “7 Rings.” The song broke several streaming and recording industry records.
She also became the first solo artist to occupy the top three spots on the Billboard Hot 100 with “7 Rings” at number one, her third hit single “Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored” debuting at number two, and her lead single “Thank U, Next” rising to number three.
The only other musicians to do this were The Beatles, who occupied the top five spots on the Billboard Hot 100 back in 1964.
Grande is continuing to shine bright in the music industry and set new records with her music with each passing day.
Although Atlantic Records regrets not signing her, it is evident that Grande is with the label that was certain of her success from the very beginning.

Roger Federer receives Shanghai Masters boost after surprise result | Tennis | Sport
Roger Federer received a Shanghai Masters boost after former world No 3 Marin Cilic lost this morning.
The Croatian was expected to breeze past Albert Ramos-Vinolas but fell to a straight-sets 6-4, 6-4 defeat.
Federer received a bye in the opening round and will sleep a little easier knowing his campaign does not start against Cilic.
However, the Swiss star will have his 2015 meeting with Ramos-Vinolas on his mind.
The Spaniard won their second-round tie in Shanghai four years ago.
Federer was handed a really difficult draw for the penultimate Masters of the year which could include clashes against Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem and Novak Djokovic.
But Cilic’s exit will certainly raise his spirits – even if only slightly.
“The draw is tough here,” Federer said.
“It also depends on your opponents a little bit.

This is why India got 40 points instead of 60 in ICC Test Championship after winning against South Africa
This is the inaugural edition of Test Championship.
Indian team. (Photo Source: Twitter)
This year the apex cricket body ICC has introduced Test Championship that will see its final being played in June 2021, which will be played between the top two teams in the league table. The Council has made some peculiar provisions over the points distribution to the teams.
ICC has made provisions for points distribution in the Test championship
Every team will get to play six series with every series that will hold 120 points that will be distributed according to the matches that are scheduled in one series. A Test series that will have two encounters, in that each match will be of 60 points whereas in a three-match series each face-off will cost 40 points and 50% points will be given if the contest ends on a tie.
Matches in series (2) – Win/Tie/Draw – 60/30/20
Matches in series (3) – Win/Tie/Draw – 40/20/13
Matches in series (4) – Win/Tie/Draw – 30/15/10
Matches in series (5) – Win/Tie/Draw – 24/12/8
Currently, India is on the top of the league table with 160 points with three wins in three Test banters, as they bagged 120 points after winning all the contests of a two-Test series in West Indies and also grabbed 40 points after winning the opening encounter against South Africa in three-match series. After India, New Zealand and Sri Lanka can be seen at 2nd and 3rd positions respectively with 60 points in their account, followed by Australia on 4th and England in 5th position.
Team India have consolidated their position by defeating South Africa with a big margin of 203 runs. After winning the match Indian skipper looked positive about the performance of his bowler in tough situations, “It was a hard grind though because of the weather and the pitch slowing down. It’s all about the attitude. If fast bowlers step out thinking, spinners are going to do the job, then it’s not going to happen. But fast bowlers have been brilliant in India as well. They might prefer shorter spells but it’s all about wanting to do for the team. Jaddu and Ash again really really good. Ash in the first innings especially, given the conditions. Jadeja in the second making those quick wickets,” Virat Kohli said after the match.

Woman Confesses To Poisoning Six Over 14 Years
Kerala Family Murder Case: Five bodies were exhumed from different graveyards.
Kozhikode:
In a murder case right of a mystery novel that has gripped Kerala’s Kozhikode district, a woman has confessed to poisoning her husband and five other members of her family over the span of 14 years, the police have said. Her second husband, who was also married to one of the victims, is now being questioned by police.
Jolly, 47, was arrested in connection with the case on Saturday after five bodies were exhumed as part of a serial-murder probe. She was reportedly present at all the places where the victims died. Two of Jolly’s close friends, suspected to have supplied her cyanide, a deadly poison, were also arrested. Police suspect the motive to be financial gain but are working on collecting evidence, especially since deaths date back to 2002.
The first of the mysterious deaths took place in 2002. The victim was Jolly’s 57-year-old mother-in-law. “Annamma Thomas, her former mother-in-law was killed because she was the most important person in that family. It was a move to gain control over the complete financial transactions within the family,” said a senior police officer.
Six years later, Annama’s husband Tom Thomas, a 66-year-old government official died. “The second person was Tom Thomas, her-father-in-law. He was again killed to gain possession of property,” the police said.
The third victim was Jolly’s husband, Roy, 40, who died in 2011. In April 2014, Annama’s brother Matthew, 68, became the fourth victim. “Mathew Thomas was the one who insisted that post-morterm should be conducted on Roy’s death,” the police officer said.
In May that year, Alphine, a 2-year-old relative, died. At the time, she was believed to have died after choking on food. Alphine was Jolly’s second husband’s daughter. The last victim was Alphine’s mother Philly. She died in 2016.
“We have found out that there are symptoms that point towards the use of cyanide in all the cases,” the officer said.
“After all these deaths, Jolly married Shaju (Philly’s husband)”, the police said.
Investigation in the case started after a complaint from Rojo Thomas, Roy’s brother. Five bodies were exhumed from different graveyards; Roy’s body was not exhumed because a post-mortem examination had already been completed in his case.
The police say they have discovered an underlying pattern connecting the six deaths and have found signs suggesting they were poisoned.

Liverpool Hoping For Quick Return of Mohamed Salah after Minor Ankle Injury
Reports suggest that Mohamed Salah has escaped with a twisted ankle after Hamza Choudhury’s tackle on him during Liverpool vs Leicester.

London: Mohamed Salah sustained a twisted ankle in Liverpool’s late victory over Leicester according to reports on Monday, but the Egyptian could still return for the Premier League leaders’ clash at Manchester United on October 20.
Salah hobbled off in added time during the 2-1 win over the Foxes on Saturday after being caught on the left ankle by a lunge from Hamza Choudhury.
The England under-21 international was booked, but Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believed he should have seen red for a challenge he branded “dangerous as hell”.
Salah had already been excused from Egypt’s friendly against Botswana on October 14 with Pharaohs head coach Hossam El Badry saying his star player “must rest”.
The Liverpool Echo reported: “Salah suffered a twisted ankle in the challenge, and while there is no timescale set on his return, Liverpool are hopeful there is no long-term damage.”
After Salah had been withdrawn, Liverpool struck late through James Milner’s penalty to open up an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League.
And next up they can rub more salt into Manchester United wounds with the Red Devils already 15 points behind their rivals down in 12th.
“Salah has not yet been ruled in or out of that fixture, with it being too early in the healing process for the medical staff to make a decision,” added the Echo’s report.

Snapdeal Claims 52% Growth in Sales Volume Driven by Non-metro Cities
New Delhi: E-commerce firm Snapdeal on Monday said it has recorded 52 percent growth in terms of volume during its first Diwali season sale over the previous year.
During the first Diwali sale, held between September 29 and October 6, Snapdeal said that its platform clocked more than 76 million visits in a week which is more than its monthly average.
“Snapdeal concluded its first Diwali sale of 2019 with record orders received, showing a massive growth of 52 percent over last Diwali volumes. Given Snapdeal’s focus and leadership in the Bharat-focused value merchandise, nine out of every ten orders received on Snapdeal were from non-metro towns across India,” Snapdeal said in a statement.
The increase in volumes from smaller cities was a pan-India trend. However, cities like Nagpur, Surat, Vijayawada, Chandigarh, Panaji, Jamshedpur, Shimla and Guwahati emerged as the new e-commerce hotspots, with orders surging at least four-fold over the previous year.
“Over 120 cities and towns across the country registered at least 2 times volumes compared to last Diwali sales. These include cities like Satara, Anand, Bharuch & Pali (West India), Malerkotla, Roorkee, Jhansi & Haridwar (North India), Hazaribagh, Raniganj and Paradip (East India), Tezpur, Itanagar & Majuli (North-East India) and Khammam, Hassan, Miryalaguda and Bhimavaram (South India),” Snapdeal said.
Last week, Amazon India in its first festive season sales report said that it has witnessed about 3 times increase in unit sales from non-metro customers, while customers from over 15,000 pin codes joined its Prime programme (which is paid) with a 69 percent increase in signups from small towns as compared to the previous year’s festive season.
According to logistics firm Shiprocket, tier 2 and 3 cities are expected to contribute a higher percentage of orders during the 2019 festive season compared to the same period last year as shipments to tier 2 cities have already shown a 10 percent year-on-year growth.

New edible sensor helps TB patients take their meds: Study
The trial produced superior results to directly observed therapy, where healthcare worker watches patient swallow medication
An ingestible sensor that allows doctors to remotely monitor patients’ intake of tuberculosis medicine could revolutionise treatment and cure of the deadly disease in India which has the highest TB burden in the world, a study suggests.
A randomised controlled trial, published in the journal PLOS Medicine, involved the sensor connected to a paired mobile. The trial, conducted in California, produced superior results to directly observed therapy (DOT), where a healthcare worker watches the patient swallow medication.
Researchers from the University of California in the US suggest that the technology could be a game changer in high prevalence countries where treatment adherence remains a stumbling block to eliminating TB. They noted that TB is the world’s largest infectious disease killer, despite it being preventable, treatable and curable. In 2017, 10 million people globally fell ill with TB and 1.6 million died from the disease, the researchers said. India has the highest TB burden in the world with one in four people affected by the disease residing in the country, they said.
The trial demonstrates that Wirelessly Observed Therapy (WOT) was reported as highly accurate in recording medication ingestion (99.3 per cent), the researchers said.
WOT consists of an ingestion sensor composed of minerals, a patch worn on the torso and a paired mobile device. Patients with active TB using WOT were confirmed as taking 93 per cent of their daily prescribed doses as opposed to 63 per cent using DOT, they said.
All the 77 patients using WOT completed treatment, were cured, and preferred it to DOT, according to the researchers. Researchers said the system allowed patients to manage their own medication taking, preserving patient privacy and autonomy, but also enabled highly targeted treatment support from practitioners with permission.
“We are not doing people affected by TB justice when we have robust genomic diagnostic tests and the emergence of new antibiotic drugs that can cure TB but cannot guarantee consistent, convenient and private treatment support for them,” said Sara Browne, a professor at the University of California, who led the trial.
“If we are serious about eliminating TB then we have to get some fundamental things right such as increased support for patient care that efficiently helps patients complete all of their treatment,” said Browne.
WOT is FDA approved and can be accessed by patients with a physicians prescription and downloadable app, the researchers said. It determined the accuracy of ingestion detection in clinical and home settings using WOT and subsequently compared, in a randomised control trial (RCT), confirmed daily adherence to medication in persons using WOT or DOT during TB treatment.
The trial evaluated WOT in 77 participants with drug-susceptible TB in the continuation phase of treatment recruited from San Diego (SD) and Orange County (OC) Divisions of TB Control and Refugee Health, using ingestion sensor-enabled combination isoniazid 150 milligrammes per rifampin 300 mg (IS-Rifamate) prescribed daily. In terms of accuracy, WOT was equivalent to DOT, the researchers said. WOT was superior to DOT in supporting confirmed daily adherence to TB medications during the continuation phase of TB treatment and was overwhelmingly preferred by participants, they said.

Pro Kabaddi 2019 HIGHLIGHTS, Telugu Titans vs Gujarat Fortunegiants in Noida: Gujarat Overpower Telugu 48 38
Telugu Titans currently feature among the bottom two teams in the season but a couple of victories in their remaining matches could see them rise in the standings and finish on a good note. The matches will also provide an opportunity for ‘Baahubali’ Siddharth Desai to raid freely and add more raid points to his kitty to hold onto his spot among the top five raiders of the season.
It hasn’t been an ideal season for either @Telugu_Titans or @Fortunegiants this time around.
Which team will have a memorable final leg of #VIVOProKabaddi Season 7 by winning #HYDvGUJ tonight? #IsseToughKuchNahi pic.twitter.com/ZQLwceUvOC
— ProKabaddi (@ProKabaddi) October 7, 2019
Rakesh Gowda impressed while raiding last time around and he will want to make the most of his opportunities in the remaining games this season. Telugu Titans also gave some of their bench players a chance to show their potential in their previous match and they might opt to do the same against Gujarat Fortunegiants.
Gujarat Fortunegiants put up a good fight in their previous two matches but failed to land the killer blow in the closing minutes. Skipper Rohit Gulia will be eager to lead the team to a win one final time this year and he will have the opportunity to make this the first 150-point campaign of his career.
More GB and Sonu Jaglan have also impressed in patches and will want to cement their reputation as match-winners with another good performance. However, it remains to be seen if Manpreet Singh will choose to rest his key players and give his bench players a run in the team’s final game.

NRC should be seen as constitutional exercise, not political: Amit Shah | India News
NEW DELHI: The National Register of Citizens should be seen as a constitutional and not political exercise, Home minister Amit Shah has said. Addressing the probationers of the 2018 batch of the Indian Police Service (IPS), the minister said NRC would ensure that benefits of development reach all citizens. A Home Ministry release said the minister spoke on the need for NRC, asserting that itwas essential not just for national security but for good governance as well. He said that the NRC must not be seen as “a political exercise but a constitutional one” as it is very important to have a national citizen register in order to ensure that benefits of development reach all our citizens. Addressing a gathering in Kolkata last week, Shah had said that no “intruder” will be allowed to stay in the country while refugees belonging to Hindu and some other religions who had been forced to migrate due to hardships will be given citizenship. He had also said that the BJP-led government will bring National Register of Citizens (NRC) after Citizenship Amendment Bill is passed in Parliament and had accused the ruling Trinamool Congress of trying to mislead people on the issue.

Milky Way’s heart exploded recently!
Melbourne: A titanic, expanding beam of energy sprang from close to the supermassive black hole in the centre of our Milky Way galaxy just 3.5 million years ago, when our ancient ancestors were already afoot in Africa, according to a study. The event sent a cone-shaped burst of radiation through both poles of the galaxy and out into deep space, the study published in The Astrophysical Journal found.
The phenomenon, known as a Seyfert flare, created two enormous ‘ionisation cones’ that sliced through the Milky Way — beginning with a relatively small diameter close to the black hole, and expanding vastly as they exited the galaxy. The researchers found that the flare was so powerful that it impacted on the Magellanic Stream — a long trail of gas extending from nearby dwarf galaxies called the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds.
The Magellanic Stream lies at an average 200,000 light years from the Milky Way, according to the scientists led by Professor Joss Bland-Hawthorn from Australia’s ARC Centre of Excellence for All Sky Astrophysics in 3 Dimensions (ASTRO 3-D).
The explosion was too huge to have been triggered by anything other than nuclear activity associated with the black hole, known as Sagittarius A, or Sgr A*, which is about 4.2 million times more massive than the Sun, said the researchers. “The flare must have been a bit like a lighthouse beam,” said Bland-Hawthorn, who is also associated with the University of Sydney in Australia.
“Imagine darkness, and then someone switches on a lighthouse beacon for a brief period of time,” said Bland-Hawthorn. Using data gathered by the Hubble Space Telescope, the researchers calculated that the massive explosion took place little more than three million years ago. In galactic terms, that is astonishingly recent, researchers said.
