I think there are some takeaways here, if we want to learn from this.
First: third-party voters were irrelevant. In no swing state did left-leaning third-party voters add up to enough to push Harris over.
Second: many progressive policies and politicians outperformed Harris.
Third: appealing to Republicans did not work.
It has never worked, in the US or in Europe, we've seen time and again that giving ground to right wing policies only legitimizes them and voters then prefer the original. For example, if you worry about immigration, and both sides are saying it's a problem, who do you trust more to handle it?
Fourth: polls were pretty accurate. There were months, years, really, of debate about polling being broken, which demographics were underrepresented, which were overrepresented, herding, hopes that they were overcorrecting for the last two misses on Trump, but they ended up closer than anybody wanted. Which also means that Biden would have lost by even worse.
Fifth: on the one hand, people should hopefully see this graphic and realize there's no minority to scapegoat:
On the other hand, I'm seeing a lot of people take it as a sign the country has simply shifted to the right in a huge, undeniable way that's depressing and ominous and feels hopeless. After all, Trump will win the popular vote by a lot, the first time a Republican has in decades.
However, this should be taken in conjunction with these numbers:
Now THIS is something that's open to further analysis and that can be worked with.
Why did so many Democrat voters not show up?
Here are some potential reasons for this, the truth most likely being a combination of at least several of them:
She's a Black-Indian woman. There's no denying the racism and misogyny among the US electorate, but given earlier polls where she was leading, I don't think this was the main or certainly only reason.
She was seen as too progressive/leftist. Again, by virtue of our racist, misogynistic electorate and our billionaire-owned media, Harris was seen as too extreme left by a lot of people, not just because of policies, but because inherently, her identity itself is extreme left to them. I personally don't think this was a crucial factor because, again, she had been leading when she was going stronger on the progressive messaging, other progressive policies and politicians outperformed her, and a lot of the people who think she's too extreme are Republicans who'd never vote for her. I just don't think it's a good enough reason for the millions of Democrats who didn't show.
Palestine. There's a coalition of pro-Palestine people, not just Muslims and Arab Americans but leftists and other POC too, but numerically, their vote for third parties made no difference. Did enough shift to Trump or not show up at all? Certainly in Michigan they swung to the right, but would that have made a difference? Did they matter in other less tangible ways, e.g., a lot of the same active progressives who'd have been out campaigning simply voted quietly for Harris and left it at that? How much of a distraction was this for Dems, having to constantly address Gaza as opposed to putting forth their own policies, and did it contribute to the overall perception of them being incompetent and weak and bringing chaos when people were tired of it? I think Palestine did have an effect, but enough to swing it overall...?
Not being progressive enough. A lot of people will point to Palestine and immigration, the decision to campaign with Liz Cheney and Mark Cuban and court Republican moderates, stifling Walz, and various other shifts that abandoned the left for the center and then the left didn't show up while the center went for Republicans as they always do, but the left isn't that large. I think, if this one point is a factor, it's more that it was simply difficult for normal voters to show up when they didn't really know what the candidate stood for, aside from "more of the same" and "not Trump".
Biden. When you have a ton of people unhappy with where the country is going, including their biggest priority, the economy, being tied to an unpopular incumbent was going to be tough, especially when, as a Black-Indian woman, she would be judged as disloyal if she broke too much from him. Nevertheless... People were unhappy with him and his administration.
Ultimately, I think there's a lot to learn and I hope Dems will.
I think we're in for a tough time and we're going to need community and solidarity, not fighting among ourselves.

to every single queer person out there—trans, gay, bi, pan, ace, nonbinary, however you identify—let me just say this: I am so, so fucking sorry. SO, SO, SO FUCKING SORRY. I am furious. I’m pissed off beyond words. english seems like a forgotten skill as I'm typing this. I am so sorry.
we never deserved this. we never fucking deserved this.
I am sorry that you’ve been betrayed like this, that we’ve all been betrayed like this. I’m sorry that SO MANY of our damn votes weren’t counted, like we don’t even matter. like we’re just numbers on a page that they can toss out without a thought. like we can just be erased, as if we do not exist, like we’re puzzle pieces that don’t fit into their perfect picture, so they just throw us out, discarded, like we were never there in the first place. I’m sorry she just conceded, just gave up. left us hanging. just handed us over like we’re some afterthought, like we’re collateral damage in this disgusting twisted fucking game. as if our lives, our rights, everything we fought for, meant nothing. she just rolled over and let us get steamrolled, like we’re just noise, just numbers on a page, just nothing worth fighting for. do they even care that real people, people who trusted her, who put their hopes in her, are being crushed by this? and not only in the US. we ALL believed in her. and ... she ... just ... she was gone. just like that. and we’re the ones who have to pay the price. we’re the ones left with our futures on the line, wondering what rights we’ll have tomorrow, if we’ll even be safe tomorrow. and she just… gave it all up. handed us over to people who are hell-bent on erasing us, who’ve been clear from day one about what they think of us, what they want to take away. how do we even make sense of that? how do we believe in ANYONE? how can you abandon us in the lion's den and yet demand compassion and trust? to trust in the very hands that have left us to bleed, to burn, to fight alone?
we deserve better. we deserved someone who would stand with us when it mattered, who wouldn’t just throw in the towel and walk away when things got tough. we’re not just collateral. we’re not disposable. we’re human beings with lives, with love, with the right to exist without fear. we aren't statistics, diagrams, names forgotten on a wall. we are queer, and we are real. and she ... just left us to face down a nightmare she knows damn well is coming. so how dare they tell us to “keep faith” when they’ve shown us that our lives were never worth the fight to them. we needed someone who would dig in and say, “no, you can’t have them. not now, not ever.” and instead? we were left out in the cold to fend for ourselves. like always. like fucking always. and this isn’t just some political setback for us. this is our lives, our right to exist. we’ve fought and bled and stood through hell just to claim an inch of ground to live openly, to love who we love, and to be who we are. we deserved so much more than empty promises. and we won’t forget this.
right now, it feels like every warning, every fear we’ve had has come to life in the worst way. and let’s be real—what’s next is terrifying. I will not sugarcoat it. rights are going to be stripped away, our existence denied, our safety threatened. trump hasn’t hidden it; he’s promised it. this was supposed to be our home too. but they’re pushing us out, forcing us to hide. so please, if you need to, go back into the closet. change states if that’s what it takes. hell, think about leaving the country if you can, because it’s becoming clear that staying might mean risking everything. you do not owe anyone anything, just think of yourself first. you are your own priority.
and god .. Love. Love—something so pure, something so simple—has been twisted into a reason for others to hate us, to fear us, to hurt us. we were never supposed to be the ones people saw as a “threat.” that label should belong to hatred, to racism, to homophobia, to everything that has poisoned this world. but instead, somehow we are the ones they call dangerous. we are the ones they want to erase. and it’s maddening. what kind of world are we living in, where the fight to just exist is an endless battle? was it not love that led Eve to take that fateful bite, trusting in the bond she shared with Adam? and if love is the foundation upon which humanity was built, how can we be faulted for following its lead? of all the things we could hate, and we chose love.
if this moment feels like it’s too much, if it feels like everything you’ve fought for, every piece of yourself you’ve worked to own, every right, every dream, every bit of safety is collapsing around you -- I get it. I feel it in my bones. it feels like drowning, like being swallowed whole by a storm that never ends. the shore seems so far away. but listen to me: don’t you fucking dare let them break you. don’t let them get that satisfaction. don’t give them that power. we are not here to let monsters erase us. we’re here to outlast every single one of them. we’re here to survive and thrive. we are queer, we are real, we exist, we will continue to exist.
their power, their hatred, their cruelty—it won’t last forever. I know it's difficult to see the light at the end of this tunnel. but they are the ones who don’t belong in a world built on compassion, on love, on freedom. You are the real thing. You are here. You deserve to be here, and you deserve to feel safe, loved, and free.
if you’re feeling like there’s no point anymore, if this all feels like it’s too damn much to take, please just hang on. this fight is brutal, and sometimes it feels like it never ends. but I’m begging you—don’t give up. don’t let them have that final victory. don’t let them silence your voice, your light, your life. scream, cry, punch walls, call someone, reach out, hold on to whatever will keep you here another day, another hour. do whatever you have to do to survive this moment. because you’re needed. we need you. the world needs you.
you might not see it now, but you are a part of something big, something powerful, something they wish they could destroy but never will. you’re part of a legacy of resilience, of love, of defiance against hatred. every queer person, every person who has ever had to stand up against a world that told them they shouldn’t exist, that they should be crucified, erased, beaten up, has carried that legacy forward, passed it down so we could be here. so you could be here. and they did not survive all they did, did not fight, did not sacrifice so much just for us to lose hope. we’re still here because others fought and held on. now, it’s our turn. we owe it to them, to ourselves, to hold on with everything we have, to fight with everything in us.
and one day, I promise you, I truly pinkie promise you, that you’re going to wake up in a world that has moved beyond these hateful voices. one day, you will wake up in a world that sees you, that values you, where you don’t have to fight just to exist. you deserve to live in it, to walk in the sunlight without fear, without shame. they don’t get to take that from you. they don’t get to erase you. they don’t get to win.
this moment is hard. it’s beyond hard. but you, every single one of you, are worth it. you are not alone in this fight. you are surrounded by countless others who feel this too, who know this pain, who are holding on right alongside you.
so please, hold on. you belong, and nothing they do can change that. they cannot snuff out your light. they cannot erase your legacy. they cannot undo the love you were born to spread.
stay. fight like hell. be louder, be prouder, be everything they tell you not to be. because you are worth every ounce of this battle. and we will see the day they’re gone. we will make it through.
we too shall rise from the ashes.
to my queer family, my phoenix.

So apparently it’s that time of year again where I have to post about this.
On lesbianism, white queerness, and 2S identity
Text below readmore
I am a two-spirit. My identity is specific to my Tribe and Clan, and even more specific to my family. I am not a man, I am not a woman, and I am not nonbinary; I am not defined by what I am not.
I am a two-spirit and I am a lesbian. That's not debatable.
But I am not a non-man.
There's an idea of two-spirits that we are just the ethnic version of non-binary
We're not. The reason you're so comfortable calling us nonbinary is because your idea of queerness is centered around the binary&what you are not: you're not cishet, you're not the oppressor, etc
White queers like to speak about 2S identities constantly as if we are monolith. "It's just a gender" "it's not a gender"
"they're not trans" "they're not queer" "they don't belong here"
The community tries to decide for the individual and that's so weird to me.
So much of white queerness is inherently about exclusion.
You need strict labels to exclude the people you fear. You write your definitions around your fear of intruders and by consequence you exclude the people that need your support the most.
You need people to "prove" they are queer before you let them in. You're like a fortress and you let vulnerable people drown in the moat; ignoring that the real oppressors don't need to be a Trojan horse to do damage, ignoring they are actively burning down the castle.
It's very sad to me, because it's ultimately tearing the community apart even further.
I've never felt very welcome in white lesbian circles and they've never understood my experience of gender, but it's gotten worse in the past 5 or so years.
As TERFs start to revive gold star lesbianism and center hatred of men as their definition of lesbianism, you start to get these younger lesbians that don't know history that start to parrot the rhetoric. First it's "non-men loving non-men" then it's "you're too close to Man™"
For many two-spirit lesbians like myself, this is very concerning. White lesbians are historically not the ones targeted by radfems.
Now we've gotten to the point that there are people denying that lesbian is an spec (multispec) identity while including (white) nonbinary people
White nonbinary people (usually AFAB nonbinary people) are seen as woman lite and are welcome in white lesbian spaces while queer Indigenous people are considered dangerous because white lesbians can't understand their gender.
When did understanding become a requirement?
We're getting very dangerously close to "lesbianism is ONLY attraction to women" and very close to "lesbianism is only attraction to *a very specific type of (white) woman*" and I really need young white lesbians to read about political lesbianism so they can see this
I don't want to hear "not all lesbians" or "well then they aren't welcome" because every time this rhetoric goes unchallenged you are actively welcoming these people to continue it and make it more and more extreme. Yes, even the kind that seems to have nothing to do with racism
Almost all of your exclusionary rhetoric is based on the racist ideas of political lesbianism and I do not know why you all cannot see that they want to move goalposts. It wasn't just bi lesbians, it wasn't just he/him lesbians, it wasn't just nonbinary lesbians. It's a tactic.
It really feels like young lesbians are not only letting us go backwards, but encouraging it. And that's thanks in part to the historical racism of political lesbianism, but many of these people ARE old enough to think critically and talk to people who've been through this.
So far I've seen this in younger lesbian spaces; the ones with older generations (the ones that don't welcome TERFs) have been pretty welcoming even if not totally understanding, because they at least recognize that you don't need to understand someone's experience to validate it.
But I'm really concerned for the young Indigenous lesbians who don't feel comfortable around older people and are going to these younger lesbian spaces only to be indoctrinated with thinly veiled TERF rhetoric. It makes me very concerned for our spaces as well.
So I'll say again
I am not a non-man and I am not a non-woman. I'm not defined by what I am not. I do not ascribe to your binary-centric definitions of queerness. I experience queer attraction to women. I'm a lesbian. You do not get to use community to decide my individuality.

ok guys I am SO MAD so here's a rant sorry for any mistakes bc i am MAD
so I was scrolling tiktok and I saw this
SO THIS IS ACTUALLY INSANE
yes armand did wrong things I AM NOT DENYING THAT in fact IN THE BOOKS HE DID WORSE BUT he's not the evil guy the tiktok series only fans are making him out to be he's not the wolf in sheep's clothing BUT A VERY TRAUMATIZED AND EVIL SHEEP
he survived KIDNAPPING SEXUAL ABUSE SEXUAL SLAVERY PEDOPHILIA ABUSE RELATIONSHIP KIDNAPPING AGAIN BRAINWASHING AND BEING PART OF A CULT if I was him I WOULD BE WORSE
but the worst part isn't about armand IT IS ABOUT LESTAT
LESTAT THE LIONCOURT IS NOT AN ANGEL
the fact that people are FORGETTING EVERYTHING LESTAT DID TO LOUIS AND CLAUDIA IS INSANE
CRIMES HE DID ON THE SHOW
- kill many people (all of vamps do that so ignoring this one)
- domestic abuser
- toxic father
- throwing louis off the SKY
- beating the shit out of claudia
- cheating on louis MULTIPLE TIMES
- and the biggest crime for me, THE LACK OF EMPATHY FOR LOUIS AND CLAUDIAS FEELINGS
now the things ON THE BOOKS
- rape (yeah this actually happened)
- sexual harrasment
- turning a guy into a vampire against his will
- traumatizing many innocents just because
- being best friends with an pedophile and lover with another
there are more things but I am so angry I can't think
honestly the reason yall actually hate armand that much is because he isn't white. there I said it
so armand does bad things to louis and claudia and he's the villian but lestat does bad things as well and HES THE HERO? HES THE POOR MEOW MEOW????
that has a name and that's RACISM
if you only take a brown man accountable and not a white man? I will raise and eyebrow
also HAVE WE WATCHED THE SAME SHOW?
and you know that person's defense?????? "LESTAT DIDNT KILL CLAUDIA"
BUT IN THE BOOKS HES CONSTANTLY HAUNTED BY HER BECAUSE HE TOLD ARMAND THAT CLAUDIA WAS THE ONLY PERSON GUILTY OF TRYING TO ASSASSINATE HIM
THAT MAN ONLY CARED ABOUT LOUIS. YALL PUT ARMAND ON FIRE ABOUT NOT CARING ABOUT HER WHEN LESTAT DID THE SAME
I will stop because I'm so mad but anyways I think you got my point

Before I start this, I don't want any hate towards this person, I won't include their user name, or the platform I got it from and if you do know leave it be but I want to talk about my issues with what they said. I don't know them.
This is really weird and reductive. I'm not saying you can't be a fan of Rhaena potentially getting Nettles' storyline even if I'm not, but the way this is framed is horrible.
Nettles specifically is George using stereotypes of black girls and women and subverting them.
Nettles is 'dark' and 'ugly' because it's a Valyrian beauty standard that is being upheld. It could very well simply be her black features that are being called ugly. Look at who says it in the books and look and who maintains it. They are all white.
Now I'm not one to say we can't have ugly characters, but I am one to impose something in the written narrative, and in this case, that plays out into George subverting racial stereotypes with Nettles. So, while she could be ugly, I also think there is a large possibility that she isn't. She could just look unambiguously black.
I'm not one to defend a white man against racism allegations, but not all the black and brown women are sexually promiscuous. George does have an orientalism issue, but let's not deny that there are characters like Missandei, Sarella, and Nymeria in the narrative. Summer Islander characters are a bit harder, but there is a real-world reason for them to be sexual, its not just George on his snow bunny arc. Their culture views it as a type of worship.
There are 3 fics under the Nettles / Addam Velayron tag, and I've read one that isn't like that. I'm not saying it's not plausible, I'm just saying out of three fics it's not that big of a deal. As for bigger Nettles fics and ships. it's a stretch to say that half are written in her own pov, but typically, her stories have a romantic arc because that's what most fanfics do. Create romantic arcs. And as someone who's read the majority of her fics (I'm being dead ass), it's not mindless sex. It's a conclusion to her romantic narrative arc about 75% of the time. Call it bias but I can't remember the last time I read a Nettles fic where the writers let her be a whore. We've failed on that mark. We have a snow bunny issue, but outside of that, it's not that serious (free my girls from the shackles of white men)
Moving on to the weird respectability politics. "Smart, tough, elegant, and not becoming the street urchin /ghetto stereotype like Nettles."
The only thing that stereotype doesn't have in common with that phrase is elegant. That's literally the only difference. I'm not American, so I'm not going to impose myself on that view, but I will speak to holding anyone to respectability politics. Black girls especially don't have to act one way to be better than others. There isn't one way to be black. That goes hand in hand with being both respectable and assimilating and 'ghetto'. It's reductive to say that anyone should be and applying the 'better' one to Rhaena and baela and the 'worse' one to Nettles is foolish and ignorant. I will have a bigger post on this soon.
As I've said countless times before, Rhaena taking Nettles' story is racist because they aren't interchangeable. Rhaena isn't black, nor is she poor or disposable within the narrative. Daemon isn't going to be miraculously proud of her. Nettles deserves her narrative. No one can cry the way Nettles does after the Battle of the Gullet. Not even Baela and Addam or Alyn. No one can have their life seen as disposable by Rhaenyra like Nettles can and no one can start the burned men but Nettles.
For the show, it doesn't make sense to take Nettles out entirely. There are way too many gaps to full when you can just add her character.
Lastly and all of this to say, you don't have to defend liking something, making stuff up is weird and acting as though it's a better choice to combine a black character and a non black character is crazy. It can just be a choice you like.
On the other hand, I want all three final girls because I can have them, and there is no reason not to.

Re: your reblog: No idea why a lot of men don't want anything to do with a movement that was regularly comparing them to bowls of poisoned M&Ms. It'll forever be a mystery
Oh fuck, that fucking post.
Like, look. I understand the importance of communicating why women might be intimidated by men. But that was such a bad comparison. I remember it being circulated by the kinds of people I was hanging out with who would wind up becoming increasingly right-wing, and it felt like every single time there was some sort of poorly articulated point about the fear that gets ingrained into us, it would just push these guys further and further away. This is purely anecdotal, but I was in a discussion with some guys in a server who said that they'd talked with multiple guys who were just kind of vaguely anti-woke not because of any deeply held principles, but because someone on the left was mean to them or disparaged them. In nerd spaces especially, these are guys who were likely already ostracized in school for being weird and are looking for, well, a safe space. And when perceived outsiders (other nerds who are demographically different from them) come in and try and make a space more inclusive, make it safer, and call anybody who objects a bad person... there's a really big social element to that. Like yeah, there's probably misogyny or racism or homophobia that could be unpacked, but those are things you can unlearn. And the best way for these guys to unlearn these behaviors is just through contact with people who are different from them with whom they have positive experiences. It's not the whole process, mind, but it's a good first step. And simply telling someone off for being bad when they might not even fully understand why it is that they have objections will succeed in getting rid of those guys from your spaces, but where do they go from there? Not the diverse and inclusive spaces we would hope they'd go, that's for fuckin' sure.
I don't want to say that it's our jobs to be super nice to these guys all the time, because you know what? Yeah, some of them do suck, as many people of all walks of life do. They won't change their minds because they see no reason to do so. But if you have the energy to try and level with these guys and just say things in a way that isn't accusatory and is just matter-of-fact, it works better. They're more likely to see you as a whole-ass person if you're willing to engage with them as a whole-ass person. It's exhausting, and I'm not the best at it, but goddammit, I've tried, with varying results. Even if they come in swinging, they can be tripped up by a simple "why would you say that?" or "I don't get it." Challenging them in a way that's not accusatory so much as it is asking them to self-reflect. Why would you say that? Why is that offensive joke funny? Why do you think it's an appropriate thing to say to people you barely even know?
I'm not one of those people that denies the existence of the male loneliness epidemic, though I certainly do think loneliness is up with everybody, not just men. I think neuroatypical men are particularly vulnerable; people with autism aren't any more likely than NT people to believe conspiracy theories, but I definitely found myself taking the word of people who I was friendly with when they perpetuated misinformation to me about shit like AGP or ROGD because why would they lie to me? Looking back, there were definitely people who were racist in a more lowkey way that wasn't immediately detectable by me because I couldn't hear the dogwhistles. But just by virtue of being a enby in predominately queer social circles, I have people around me that were able to challenge these views and help pull me away from these ideas (and help me realize that my gender is more "woman?" rather than just "woman"). These friends allowed me to realize just how stupid they actually were. There's a lot of guys, particular straight guys, who just do not have that in their lives. The bigots are always recruiting and there's nothing they love more than disenfranchised young men who are full of misdirected anger and resentment, especially ones who might be psychologically or emotionally vulnerable and incredibly insecure about it. It's a really hard mindset to get out of, particularly when your views get more extreme, and it's also something you have to actually want to change. Admitting you've been played for a sucker by people with agendas and who don't actually give a shit about you is hard. Nobody wants to admit when they've been had.
There's always a lot of resistance whenever anybody floats the idea that hey, maybe we shouldn't automatically assume these guys are assholes when we encounter them; they might just be ignorant, and you can talk to people who are ignorant without coming across as condescending or sanctimonious. Some of them might be assholes but let them show themselves first before deciding that you can't deal with them. But men are like most people; they don't want to see themselves as fundamentally bad or wicked. Nor should they. I know a lot of women who have been hurt by men; shit, I was hurt by the same man over and over and over again and was in denial about it for decades, and it was only after leaving him that I realized just how absolutely fucked he was as a person, and how he'd never have any incentive to change, even when faced with the consequences of his incredibly selfish actions. I tried so fucking hard to get him to improve only to be met with the same rote excuses for why he couldn't, and I kept giving him grace he did not earn. But also I was trying for 21 years. But his problems are his own. Not every man is going to be like him. I've known men who are, deep down, decent people, but they pick up shitty ideas that linger around them like a stinkcloud. The good news about stinkclouds, though? You can take a shower and smell better. You do it regularly enough, you won't stink no more. It's not an immutable trait. But it definitely helps to not hang around other guys who cluster and form a larger stinkcloud. You gotta wash your ass, if you must, as Del the Funky Homosapien once said.
Fellas, you are not a poisoned bowl of M&Ms. You might just be kinda smelly and in need of a bath. You can't remove the poison from those M&Ms, but you can clean up and become the best version of yourself. A lot of us have the stink of a lot of cultural ideas we've been fed without question, and you're not a bad person for having thought these things one time; it's a long process trying to challenge and prune these ideas. But you might be a bad person if somebody tries to reach out to you and you go and roll around in pig shit and declare how much you love being stinky, while also being upset that girls don't want to talk to you on account of the stink... unless they are taught from a young age to ignore it, or they also want to just socially isolate themselves by diving headfirst into the Bog of Eternal Stench. Those women do certainly exist, but they're not going to bring out the best in you, you know?
It's not an easy process, and it's not easy to reach out to people and have the psychological wherewithal to be able to handle some potentially wild shit. But if you're the kind of person who believes in rehabilitation in the justice system, then you should be able to extend that to people who just have some really shitty ideas that they just internalized without question who might just need to hear a perspective that they haven't heard before. Not everybody can do it, but for those who can? Try. You might help keep somebody from quoting crime or suicide statistics to strangers online in an attempt to feel some semblance of power above those they see below them in the societal hierarchy. You can't force change, but you might be able to nudge them in the right direction.
I think that's the best anybody can do. Try to be as kind as patient as you can, but don't take any shit, either. Remain firm in your principles. Remove yourself if you have to. But at least try, even when it's hard, because like it or not, we need as many of these guys on our side as possible of we want to affect the kind of change we want to see in the world.
... And that's all I have to say about that.

gonna post some screenshots from a particular user in the vampterview community and the users liking their garbage posts, just in case some of you haven't heard. should become obvious why i'm highly suspicious of anyone who interacts with any of these users.
please just read the posts. sorry i'm not providing image descriptions, please dm me if you need them and i'll add them when i can!
the first post is just one example one of many on this blog, the second one might seem innocuous if you see it on your own but in combination with the others, not so much. please pay attention to the people liking these.
then we have an anon complimenting the wisdom and maturity of this person, who then replied with several paragraphs:
and got likes from two of the same users and two others.
then they self reblogged one of the posts from earlier and continued:
obviously this last post is the most egregious, and not everyone is bold enough to press like knowing that likes are public and could affect their reputation in the fandom. but i am going to assume that the people liking the other posts, which weren't all in public tags, are this person's followers and have seen all the other posts and believe this kinda shit is acceptable. and that speaks volumes about them as people.
i'm personally not going to assume that everyone who's ever liked or reblogged from any of these users did it knowing what kind of people they are (i didn't always know that either, and have probably reblogged from at least one of them before i did) but i am highly suspicious of anyone reblogging from them or interacting with them in a friendly way, and if i see people i follow doing that, i am going to unfollow unless i have very good reason to believe they genuinely had no idea, in which case i will message first.
i hope none of my followers need me to actually explain why what they're saying is absolute garbage but if you genuinely don't get the problem, dm me and i can find you some links about racism 101 i guess
EDIT/UPDATE:
someone asks nalyra what's going on
she later adds this, linking to a post that links back to this very post you're reading right now
track you UNliking something? GIRL WHY DID YOU LIKE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE?
i do love how if you read this and don't bother clicking the link she sounds kind of reasonable, and even like she's taking accountability (she's not denying anything! she's linking to a source so people can judge for themselves!) just not SO much accountability that she'll actually say what she did. gotta click those links to find out, and let's face it, the majority of the people who see her post are simply going to assume she's being unfairly targeted again. i mean, she posts about it all the time! why bother even checking, it's not like she would ever link to, say, screenshots of her liking a post that says affirmative action is the only system of oppression based on race and anti-white racism is real
EDIT #2:
another screenshot i forgot to include from the same day of nalyra liking another untagged post from cosmic

Anakin is not racist
oh, man, that was fast!
listen. i’m gonna assume you’re an anakin fan — great! so am i! — but anakin is objectively an awful person and a canonical space-racist. that’s apparent even if you’re new to Star Wars like i am.
from Legends:
when asked about his view of the tuskens, anakin’s immediate response is “i have no use for tuskens.” i mean, i don’t know what there is to explain about that, because it’s right there. a whole race of people he doesn’t care for because they aren’t “useful,” as if that’s all people are meant to be to him. his issue with them is apparent but he won’t name it.
a’sharad hett directly names anakin’s issue: he is prejudiced. and anakin does not deny this. he “apologizes” but does not specify for what, because he knows he’s supposed to. you don’t just admit you’re a racist, especially not to a Master Jedi. which is exactly what irl racists do, lmfao.
when push comes to shove, anakin outright SAYS it.
“I know what you are — filthy, sneaking, Tusken! Animals! Hiding behind your masks! Your kind tortured and killed my mother and I’m glad I killed them all!” (Emphasis mine)
like, listen. this is racist as hell. the racist dog whistle is now a racist klaxon, alright. he sees the tuskens as subhuman, as inherently untrustworthy because of their appearance and their culture, and he is not only not bothered by killing them, but he’s happy he did it. you could argue anakin is shielding himself from his guilt with self-righteousness, which i might buy with any other character, but anakin is down right unrepentant.
it wasn’t enough for him to kill the tuskens responsible, which even a’sharad notes would have been acceptable in Tusken culture; anakin wanted them all dead, because they’re all guilty to him solely by virtue of being Tusken. this anger and hatred and bigotry pushes anakin to even lash out against a’sharad, a tusken jedi, fully dropping any pretense that he is okay with a’sharad despite him being half-tusken and a jedi. because you know what anakin is following? the ONE DROP RULE! even a drop of Tusken blood is too much tusken.
and still the wrong lessons are learned. for some godforsaken reason a’sharad learns he needs to be seen as a Jedi first and not a Tusken, which is not only antithetical to the Jedi way, but totally opposite to the point of this encounter, which is that we are all many things all at once, and pretending otherwise leads to destruction. anakin is a jedi and a murderer and a racist and the chosen one. ignoring the unsavory and cruel parts of him, never exposing him to the jedi council, and hoping his “better nature” would win out over time ensured that it never would. a’sharad is a Tusken and a jedi and many other things, but his wrongful assumption that pushing aside his heritage will gain him favor eventually causes more problems for him.
the only reason anakin and a’sharad stop fighting is because a’sharad removes his mask, revealing, tada, a hot human face! now anakin is capable of an insincere apology. but he still assumes the markings on a’sharad were forced on him, because he still believes tuskens are a barbaric and cruel people. then the moment is moved past so they can escape.
and despite this shit-ass “heart to heart,” anakin walks away with zero appreciation for a’sharad or the Tusken culture. he fails a’sharad’s lesson: it’s not that he can’t see a’sharad as human, as a person, as a jedi, it’s that he won’t, because he is attached to his view of the tuskens as lesser than, because it excuses his behavior, because it makes him righteous, because it makes him feel better, because it solidifies his entitled view of the world. which is exactly how irl racism and whiteness work.
and the final word on the subject is this. when all is said and done and anakin is asked if he would kill the tuskens again, knowing what he knows about them now, his answer is a cold, unmoved, “Yes.”
now, i know the Legends comics are not officially canon; the new canon is whatever Disney chooses to use and whatever appears in the movies. however, even if we just look at the clone wars, which are now canon to the Disney SWU, there are several instances in TCW where anakin makes disparaging comments about another species’ appearance, intelligence, and capability. i don’t have those on hand because i am not trawling through 7 seasons for quotes for you, but you can find them if you want to look.
my final thought here is this: i am not disparaging anakin fans (fanakins, if you will); like i said earlier, i am fascinated by his character, and enjoy him as a concept. what i am doing here is asking you (especially if you’re white) to consider the lengths to which fandom goes to ignore the very obvious signs that anakin is not just genocidal but racist. like him all you want but don’t ignore that part because that makes you uncomfortable. he kills kids. that’s not any better than being racist.
understanding the role of racism in his depiction, and his turn to fascism, only aids your storytelling and view of him, because it’s true to life. society is willing to ignore massive red flags if someone is white (and in Star Wars universe, we’ll add “human” to the list), male, and conventionally attractive. obi-wan is willing to ignore these things because he is the same, and because anakin does not treat HIM this way, obi-wan can blindly believe anakin would never treat anyone like this — which is, again, a phenomenon people of color call out often, where white people will say “X can’t be racist because he’s never said anything racist around me!” well yeah. because why would he? nevermind the fact that obi-wan and ahsoka witness anakin treating non-human suspects with extreme prejudice, abusing his power and authority as a jedi to get what he wants, and worse. anakin is and always has been a shitty racist cop on a power trip, but because he worked with “good cops” and knew better than to say anything out loud, he got away with it until he killed them all too.
this all feeds into the concept that while anakin’s fall is tragic, it is by no means unexpected. the only reason the main characters of the prequels are surprised is because they willingly looked away from the warning signs. the characters who didn’t — the Council, Mace, even Ahsoka at some points — are vilified by anakin, and because the main characters love anakin and have an attachment to him being the chosen one, they believe anakin over those who are suspicious of him and ignore or downplay the warnings until it’s all too late. the tragedy of anakin isn’t a tragedy of not being loved enough, or having people fail you; it’s the tragedy of refusing to get help, of refusing to let go of things even when they hurt you, it’s the tragedy of the bitter man drinking poison to kill someone ekse, and it’s the tragedy of the bystander: of what happens when we all stand by and watch people we love do terrible things without stopping them, because we’re as afraid of them not loving us anymore as we are of confronting what it means that we still want to love and be loved by cruelty.
tl;dr: anakin skywalker is racist and prejudiced. you can still like him as a character; this is not a moral judgment. but maybe you should prod at your like at him a little, and investigate the ways in which both anakin as a character and the fandom’s dismissive view of his many faults is indicative of the insidious way racism and whiteness works irl. especially if you’re white.
#this isn’t even getting into the whole clusterfuck mess of the writers fumbling a chance to half genetically half Tusken Jedi as well. fools#white mutuals pls interact with this man. i know it’s unpleasant but acknowledging this shit acfually does wonders#i mean idk. not forcing you to but ya.#walkie talkie.#not anti anakin

Making that post because I don't give a fuck. I don't bother with hiding your user because fuck your privacy.
I checked your profile and you ship Feysand, that tells me everything I need to know about you. Now, let's look at this paragraph again! The whole thing!
"Starting with meeting with the governors of the palaces and getting them to agree never to serve, shelter, or entertain Keir or ANYONE from the court of nightmares." Did you get that? I hope so.
When Rhysand said anyone, he didn't only mean Keir and his soldiers, he meant anyone who was born from Hewn City. Women, men, children. Anyone who hails from Hewn City will not experience the same comfort as the citizens of Velaris.
The inner circle believes that everyone down there is evil and vile but that can't be true, can't it? If someone like Mor came from there and was a dreamer, that means there are more dreamers. There are innocent women and children who suffer in the court of nightmares but Rhysand and his inner circle leaves them to rot. Mor hasn't done anything for the women and she left centuries ago.
You want to know why I said they would like Jim Crow? It's because of shit like that. People were denied shelter, service, entertainment, get opportunities, etc. That's exactly what Rhysand said about anyone from Hewn City coming into Velaris. They had to deal with Rhysand coming down to Hewn City only to torment them so more in their miserable lives. That little stunt Feysand did in ACOMAF was straight up disgusting. Getting freaky in front of your people? Can you imagine the women seeing that? That Rhysand is acting like this with his lady? They also had to watch Rhysand break Keir's arm for calling Feyre a whore which is well deserved but Rhys doing that but not helping the women who had suffered at the hands of men for many years? Some high lord he is. Here's the racism part I was talking about:
"The Illyrians are pieces of shit," he said too quietly. I opened my mouth and shut it. Shadows gathered around his wings, trailing off him and onto the thick red rug. "They train and train as warriors, and yet when they don't come home, their families make us into villains for sending them to war?" "Their families have lost something irreplaceable," I said carefully. Azriel waved a scared hand, his cobalt Siphons glinting with the movement as his fingers cut through the air. "They're hypocrites." This is from A court of frost and starlight. Azriel is talking like that about the Illyrians even though HE IS A ILLYRIAN. That is internalized racism in my eyes. Because why would talk about your own people like that?
"Get your facts checked." I got my shit checked, I won't be making posts on this app if I DIDN'T have my facts. I have read the series, I wouldn't make posts like this if I didn't read it. Do yourself a favor and block me.
I hate Rhysand, Feysand (as a ship), the inner circle, and I love to talk shit about them. That shit that Rhysand did to Feyre UTM is one of the reasons I hate that bat bastard. "He had me dance until I was sick, and once I was done retching, told me to begin dancing again." ACOTAR, Chapter 39. He never gave her a true apology for what he did to her and that's fucking horrid. He had no reason to do that. That isn't protection, that's abusing a innocent woman. Don't act like he's a good guy when he did all of this to his "Feyre Darling".
Hating this series is awesome, give it a try. And you didn't reply to my comment, how come? I was hoping we would start a argument. I don't need people like YOU in my damn comments. Please do yourself a favor and block me now, save yourself the pain. Try filtering out the anti Rhysand and anti inner circle tags if you don't want to see shit like that. I saw a little post on your blog about seeing a post from a Rhysand and IC hater. I know it's about me, I be lurking at times.
I do hope you see this and I hope you give me a good ol' block!🙂 Either you block me or I block you. Any comment from a pro Rhysand or pro inner circle, I am not taking it seriously. I don't need bitches like YOU around and I'm sure you don't want a bitch like ME around.
READ THE FUCKING TAGS, YOU FUCKTARD. YOU AIN'T WELCOME HERE. WHY WOULD YOU MAKE YOURSELF SUFFER BY READING FROM ANTI FEYSAND OR ANTI IC PEOPLE? IF YOU'RE A FAN OF EITHER, YOU STAY AWAY FROM IT. I want you to know that I compared Rhysand and Feyre to Donald and Melania Trump, called him and the inner circle fascists, and compared him to Bill Cosby!🥰 Here's one, here's another, and the last one!
🎵Now when I came out, I told you it was just about Rhysand. Then you had to open your mouth with a motherfucking opinion. Well, this is how we gonna do this; Fuck Feysand (Feyre deserves better), fuck Rhysand, fuck the inner circle as a staff, family, and a motherfucking crew! And if you want to be down with this, then fuck you too!🎵
Be sure to read the tags this time, much love and take care! No but seriously, just block me. Make it better for yourself. I say this with genuine.
Made a post, just for you and your dumbass comment.

I'm seeing too many fellow aces not believing there's a problem when they say 'I'm not into rap because it's too sexual'. So I'm going to say, as an ace, yes there is.
The problem wasn't 'people overreacting to your sex repulsion'. The problem was you all honed in on rap having this allonormativity as your reason to not listen, especially when a lot of black culture gets accused of being too sexual. And there's a whole can of baggage of worms there I'm not qualified to get into as someone who's pasty white myself.
1. Rap is NOT all about sex. I prefer jazz more than rap, but even I know there's bops for us out there. Check out the ones about politics for instance or maybe check out some Childish Gambino, hell kid rappers exist, you think they rap about sex?
2. Literally every music genre has allonormativity (except I guess instrumental jazz, so there's a start, but jazz overall has this too...I love you, Ella Fitzgerald, but why all the love=sex songs?) and I'm pretty damn sure the rest of you don't exclude every other music genre in your lives. I don't see anyone saying this stuff about, say, rock from white guys in the '80s? No controversy about that, I guess.
It's one thing to avoid specific songs, it's just plain disengenous to avoid whole genres based on assumptions that don't apply to literally every song.
The thing is the ace community does have a racism problem, even though I know a lot of you don't mean it maliciously. You're not immune to biases, especially when the community becomes smaller white cliques on social media. I've seen more black aces on TWITTER, for crying out loud.
To fix this, you need to acknowledge the problem and not deny it as some 'touch grass' issue. It's really not and it's a bad look. It'll make the problem worse.
And expand your musical horizons, not avoid a genre based on an assumption from osmosis or mainstream radio. Hell, I've stopped listening to mainstream radio long ago since none of it plays jazz. Check out community and college radio stations, way more expansive and international tastes, with every song as a surprise.
I'm not trying to go 'rah rah you'll all bad people'. That's what gets people to not examine their biases, thinking racism only happens out of the mouths of the worst people. The systems we live in try to normalise racism. It's background radiation and you need to use your Geiger counter.
I'm getting this off my chest because I know you all can do better. If you get your denial out of the way and realise maybe there's something more unconscious going on than just consciously tending to your orientation's needs.
Now, I'm going to leave this here and trust you all to read it. I'm not going to respond, especially if anyone turns this into an argument.

In light of the election, a word to those who voted for Trump.
I'll admit, I've run out of sympathy. It's been eight years of him being overwhelmingly in the public limelight and he was president for four of those. You all know who he is now and you still voted for him.
And I get it, you'll claim that you voted for him for "the economy" and that you don't support all of the ways in which he's a terrible human being, but I have a hard time believing that considering that the average Trump voter doesn't actually even know what Trump's economic policy will be. Look, America had a decent economy under Trump the first time, not because of anything he did, but because he inherited a decent economy from Obama and spent all his time doing petty things like the Muslim ban rather than screwing up the economy. Don't believe me? Find any graph you like of the US economy and show me where his policies changed anything dramatically from the pre-Trump trend (at least, before he completely screwed up the pandemic).
And, look, if he'd just been promising vague, back to normal-type things, I might believe you that it was the economy, but he hasn't. Since the start of his campaign he's been promising to implement massive tariffs on all imports; something he can do, by the way, without Congressional approval. Tariff, by the way, is another word for tax; he's going to add a 10% (and more!) tax to every single thing that the US imports, and we import a lot. Inflation, by the way, has been back down to reasonable levels for months, this is the type of thing that would cause it to spike back up again.
So, yeah, I don't believe you that you voted for him because you were very concerned about the economy; if you were very concerned about the economy you would know all of that already. No, you didn't vote for him "in spite of" the racism and the lawbreaking and the bigotry, you voted for him because of it. The economy was just a fig leaf.
And if that strikes you the wrong way, if you think I'm wrong about that, if you think I'm judging you in bad faith, sit for a minute with that feeling. Ask yourself, why did you vote for a racist? Why did you vote for a criminal? Because you did. Whatever reason you tell yourself you did it for, you still did it. And millions of people around the country and around the world are going to suffer for it.
And, if the economy, as just about every economist predicts, crashes under the weight of Trump's tariffs and other terrible economic polices, I'll admit that my reaction to your shock will probably not be what you'd like either. As I said, I'm out of sympathy after eight years. You voted for a criminal and a bigot in exchange for a "good economy" and the most likely result is that you will still not get it.
I hope that all of the women who will die because they're unable to access abortion care find peace and that their families will too. I hope that all of the immigrants who are deported and the communities they're ripped from are able to heal. I hope that all the gay and trans people who will be attacked and denied support by their own government find what help they need. I hope that all of the Jews and ethnic minorities who are murdered all over the country by white supremacists emboldened by Trump are able to find peace as well. I hope that all of these people are able to survive the economic shockwaves that are coming.
As for you, I'll admit, as unsympathetic as I am generally, I still have my humanity and that leaves me with at least a small bit of hope for you. I hope that you one day discover the humanity to, even if your assumptions about the economy were somehow correct, risk a little bit of what you have to prevent the suffering of others. I hope that you aren't one of the many people devastated by the economic policies you've voted for. I hope that you eventually realize what you've done. I hope that you'll take responsibility for what you've unleashed and work to combat the bigotry and crime that is coming. Ultimately, though, I hope, when you do realize everything that's happened and everything is said and done, that you can forgive yourself.

Hi, I’m an Iraqi girl currently in Baghdad, this is a fact that I’ll never reveal to anyone on the internet for multiple reasons, from privacy to just the fact that I know I wouldn’t be able to hold it together if racists found me, I’m terrified, terrified of what Iran and the US would do to my home, I love Iraq, its culture, its beauty, it’s everything, yet I feel like when I finally start a life for myself I’d wanna get out, I don’t want to, this country holds so many memories dear to me, yet I can’t live in fear wondering if my home would be attacked the next day, I went to college today and me and some friends started talking about the missiles that were spotted yesterday, and we joked that even if there’s war we’d still be forced to attend college, yet I think that all of us were just saying it because we’re scared, I’m sick and tired of white-supremacists destroying my home and culture, you said your mother fled Iraq after the US invasion and my mother did too, we fled to Jordan where we already had some family there, but, we couldn’t stay, not because it wasn’t safe for us there, but it was my mom, my mom is a general surgeon, a fact that she considers one of her greatest achievements, she’s not done because she’s currently getting her doctorate, but she wasn’t allowed that when she was in Jordan, she wasn’t allowed to work as a doctor, she wasn’t allowed to even CLAIM she was a doctor, she got pissed because she didn’t work her ass off so that she’d be denied that right, so we came back about two years later, at least by then it was somewhat peaceful? Still sucked but it was ever so slightly safer, racism towards Arabs doesn’t just come from Europe and America, it also comes from our own neighbours, I don’t know what point I’m trying to make of this, I just needed to get it off my chest and felt like this was the safest place to do so, thank you in advance for listening
Hi no it’s so incredibly important that you sent me this. So many people have sent me asks about how “Iraq has shut down its airspace in collaboration with Iran,” which I understand. I understand that Iraq is aligned with Iran. I understand it was a necessary counterattack. But I also think it’s so important to humanize the Iraqis residing there, who live in fear regardless, who understand that with this war there will always be the “collateral damage” civilians. It’s not fair for you to be be joking about war while westerners abroad debate the political connotations of something that doesn’t even directly affect them.
And yeah, unfortunately Jordanians have always been racist to Iraqis. My uncle’s family encountered similar problems when he moved there—he basically had to fly between Iraq and Jordan regularly, bc it’s impossible to find a stable job in Amman. I feel for your mother. I feel for the fact that she didn’t want to throw away all her hard work. This is the rock and a hard place conundrum Iraqis are stuck between. Not religious but I’m still praying for your safety, for your mother’s safety, and for you to never have to know what it feels like to be going to school while Iraq is caught in the middle of war. It has had enough war to last it a lifetime. I’m sorry angel

Anti-Targaryen people are really sick...
A headcanon that the Targaryens brought peace to Westeros ? Someone hasn't read the books...
I'm not even going to bother debunking the bullshit about Rhaegar other than to say that Lyanna was 16 and not 14. But hey, that's common among these people to lower Lyanna's age to further victimize her.
We also love the fact of never taking into account the rules of the feudal world / GRRM to impose a modern perspective...
Denying that Targaryen women had more freedom in the age of dragons, etc.
Saying that the Targaryens are worse than other families, under the pretext that they were in power, when no.
Once again, their reign brought peace. Before their arrival, the lords of Westeros went to war every week. The Targaryens did not bring war to Westeros ON THE CONTRARY !
“But it’s not good that they conquered Westeros anyway!” Okay, so the best thing was to let Westeros be destroyed by lords more hungry for power than the others who were at war all the time I suppose...
Knowing that in addition a prophecy essentially predicting the coming apocalypse was added to the picture.
Of course the Targaryens are so horrible for stopping the war between the lords and trying to save Westeros from this prophecy...
Supremacist and racist ? Just because they talk about preserving their bloodline and magical blood ? I remind you that the Targaryens once again married more outside their family than within their family... We will come back to racism.
Plus, all the houses in Westeros tend to feel superior, does that make them racist ?
It's a noble and lordly thing in general, nothing to do with racism !
Implying that conqueror goes hand in hand with colinizer when NO.
Also the fact that women marry young has nothing to do with the Targaryens... It's a thing of society in general.
Not to mention that the Targaryens are the ones who hurt women the most with some example who are in fact not more numerous than other members of the other Houses of Westeros...
Once again there were so many assholes among the Targaryen than in the other Houses.
And the treatment of Targaryen women got worse when the dragons disappeared because before they had much more freedom as a result of their existence.
You just have to read the books to realize it !
Not to mention the fact that this person can spit on ancient Valyria all they want, but it's definitely suggested in the work that women were treated better there than in Westeros, which makes sense when you consider sees how Targaryen women were in Westeros compared to other women before the loss of the dragons and therefore that Targaryens unfortunately adhere more and more to the traditions of Westeros, to which they had already acclimatized, which the colonizers do not do...
But I guess these canon facts don't agree with the view of the Targaryens being the worst with women so we'll just say it doesn't exist to demonize them ?
With the logic of these people, the end of GRRM's story is just going to be the destruction of House Targaryen or of its entire universe ? Like the apocalypse is going to happen and everyone is going to die ? 😂
Are they stupid or what ?
No, because let's be honest, the anti-Targ people who try to qualify their remarks like this person by saying that everyone is bad don't really mean it since they always try to make the Targ worse for obscure reasons.
Even though they loudly proclaim that everyone is horrible I doubt that at the end of GRRM's story they want everyone to lose, not at all.
The reality is that they just want the Targaryens eradicated and nothing more. Frankly, if GRRM one day finishes his story, or simply delivers what he had planned for the end... all these people risk being deeply disillusioned.
I can't stand all these idiots anymore...

You know the annoying thing is that, while the tide is turning in most of Europe and UK regarding the trans ideology, it's just getting started in my own country; or rather online media are trying to bring it over here, and there have been a few speakers on tv/radio talking about it, one of them a psychologist that claimed that it's nothing to be worried about regarding the rise in sex dysphoric kids cause actually the numbers are getting higher cause we're finally talking more about it(gods how I hate that rhetoric, whenever it's used for any topic on mental health; slight tangent: like yes, regarding mental health, part of it is we're talking more about that sort of stuff, but there's no denying that there are far more issues now than in the past; the numbers aren't just rising cause we're more aware. I really do hate it when people say that "oh we're more aware, that's the reason for high numbers).
However, people at the moment are still resisting the ideology, but I fear for how much longer; either that, or the ideology will make them even more conservative and against the LGB cause they're already conflating LGB with TQ+, and I really hate it. Honestly I fear that at this point the tide will sooner turn in the US.
In France we usually get the new American obsession 10 years after it started there, and I was really hoping that the tide would turn soon enough for us to be protected from the trans craze. Turns out we weren’t and faced the same collusion between trans activists, blue haired kweerios, former supporter of president Mao, fascists in balaclavas calling themselves antifa, idiotic bougie Parisians, critical race theorists, raging antisemites and Islamists (multiple labels can apply to one person, yes I know)
That’s quite the sour cocktail.
In ten years they managed to completely undermine feminism, ecology, anti-racism and LGB rights activism. We’ve reached a point where many people don’t want to hear anything about it anymore. I mean we have local planned parenthood promoting the Islamic veil and prostitution at the same time.
So what happened basically is that this ideology propelled many people towards the right and the extreme right. The left is slowly disappearing and the extreme left, to just exist in the media has been acting like a 1930s NSDAP supporter for literal months, obsessing over Jews and Israel.
Pride parades and feminists events have become sad displays of nonsensical ideologies and the media loves nothing more than interviewing the most unhinged people attending. So I’m afraid - and I’ve been saying that since the beginning - that without a strong reaction from LGB people themselves this will, in the end, send acceptance back to the 1980s.
And I’m not blaming it on gay people at all, I mean I see what feminism has become and how all major charities have been taken over… it’s really hard to be heard. If anything I’m heartbroken for the victims and for all the people who are going to suffer from this. People will forget the fetishists who will go back to their birth name and underground clubs, but not about the « slippery slope » that for them started with marriage equality.

Are you a fan of httyd as well?! I agree how Percabeth they are :) If you are a fan, what do you think about the live action and casting? Since everyone is debating on it. Personally I dont like race-swapping but I like Nico Parker so much!
Hello! And yes I am a fan of httyd as well, it is one of my fav childhood movies :) Now I dont usually talk about races or other stuff on this blog, but since you asked, I gotta add some warnings first:
Please remember that these are mostly my personal thoughts, if you dont agree it is okay. You are free to add your own thoughts, but please be respectful. Okay, lets go-
I love Nico Parker and know her since her role in tlou. And I gotta say I dont like actors getting hate because I also got so many racist comments when I was a child too. I had a facebook account when I was 12 and you wont believe how people can be so cruel for someone's nationality. Thats why even today, I am rather secretive on my nationality, only sharing to people I trust and call them friends. So why would I be happy seeing actors getting the hate comments bcs of their skin color now? I would never blame the actors, but- I would blame the companies and todays "new era of televizion"
Whatever we like it or not, we cant deny the fact that they only do it for the new era, marketing. Look at Nico Parker, her face looks exactly like Astrid. If they give her a blond wig, she is Astrid. But they dont, also giving her braids. And the only reason is: To show us that she is black and would appear as so. They want us to see that. I hate live actions, because even though they do this for marketing and "diversity", they realize this would get hate for the actor, they are using them. And no we cant say "No it is not for diversity or wokeness". Well, it is since we see almost every og white character is getting race-swapped: Snow White, Ariel, Rapunzel, April from Tmnt, Annie the Orphan, Triss, Hawkgirl, Annabeth, Jimmy Olsen, Doctor Who and many more. I know, whitewashing is a big problem, but I dont think its ever a way to stop the racism. To me even, It creates MORE-
It is also giving double-standarts, because people flip when you even mention changing an og black character. Not that I support that either. "Their race has a meaning in the story!" You can change Snow White but you cant change Tiara. It gives the message "You can change white characters but you cant change poc characters". I am not fully white, but it is giving also racism to me. Not to mention, this new televizion era, tries to avoid blond characters, especially blond woman in any day. New httyd cast has 0 blonds and they are Vikings. Any blond character is replaced. Oh and people say "It is a movie about the dragons!" Well, these are all fantasies. Tiara has a talking frog yk? If you think that, that we should be able to change all of them.
But in today's televizion, race is everything to them. Everything has to be about race. Which is stupid. We all want to be equal, but now they made people look onto race only. Back then, we loved movies because of their plot, acting etc. But now, every remake only focuses on one thing: diversity, how to make it more diverse? Now I also love a good diversity, which means every races together on tv, which is amazing right? It is what we all want. But today, it changed all the meaning. And the only thing companies look for MARKETING. It is not fair to audience, it is not fair to the actors. I would prefer companies to stop doing live action but to make something new with diversity, with new characters who are white, black, latinos, Hispanic, Arabic, Turkish, Indian etc. Now that IS diversity. Not changing og characters to white to black OR change to black to white. Both of them are doing nothing but upsets the audience because people are aware the point behind it.
The worse part is, I think they know it wont do anything as well, but do it for money, using actors as shield. I dont think they deserve it, at all. Especially child actors would have that scars forever. Even how much people support them, at the end, the scars stay.
So yeah, this is what I think. Oh I gotta add, costumes looks like a school play kinda...Its like they only focused on Hiccup and Toothless. But we will see, I would watch it and then share my thoughts again ^^ Thank you for your ask :)
#long post#pls be respectful#you are free to add your thoughts#httyd#astrid hofferson#nico parker#wokeness#diversity#sometimes we gotta sit and remember the meaning of diversity#ask
