not to be a bitch but like. i can never take "ohhhh kon is soOOoOoo sad about tim/ber uwaahhhh he's in love with tim but it's unrequited waaahhhh" angst seriously because like... i get it, the only thing you know about kon is that he's the other half of a popular m/m tim ship, but uh. rebirth kon is living an existential fucking nightmare. i think he's got way bigger fish to fry than whether the tim who only kind of remembers him at all is dating some other guy lmao

i’m being so completely serious when i say this: stranger things could have been so good if it was written by the s1 & 2 gossip girl writers
#some fucking. nuance. when writing character dynamics#some fucking . SUBTLETY ? which i know you probably think GG writing isn’t subtle#but in a very real way yes it is.#if stranger things was gossip girl we wouldn’t constantly have people telling steve to his face quote#i used to think you were an eeeevil evil douchebag and i hated you but now i like you!#we would understand those arcs through Action. through gestures. a la nate giving dan the usher position#a la dan sitting down with blair in the hall and giving her advice disguised as a personal anecdote#a la blair snapping out of her rampage when eric tells her why he was at the ostroff center#i could go on. gossip girl is very soap opera in many ways and they do have big dramatic emotional reveals#but they also are so restrained leading up to that. SEASONS of dan and blair slowly building a dynamic and friendship before they ever#verbally refer to each other as friends#another big piece of this is gossip girl getting 22 episode seasons of course#sigh

Actually me and Joe threw one time in California. I actually took a trip to go take a chance to go see him and hang with him for a time. And that was our first time throwing after, I think that was his fourth session when he first started to throw. So I caught him early.

I live in constant fear of the question "What kind of music do you like?"
#i think i might literally break out in a cold sweat#it would probably be simpler to list the music i DON'T like#but why be unnecessarily negative#cosmo gyres#musicblogging#personal#i just imagined someone asking me that question#and then i started an entire long imaginary spiel about the history of the meaning of the phrase 'pop music'#and how it originally emerged as simply a counterpart to classical - there was classical music and 'popular music'#but then of course over time the phrase changed in meaning and subgenres of popular music began to emerge#and today i don't even know what genres mean anymore#so if you use any kind of terminology to refer to types/genres of music... you have to understand#that the significance of said terminology varies DRASTICALLY based not only on what era of music you're talking about#but also on what era you yourself are speaking from!#and then i caught myself and was like 'dude. rein in the tism'#'most people who ask that question are not looking to get a 3-hour music history lecture'#but then i'm right back at my original problem#being that person who says 'oh i listen to all kinds of stuff'#and in doing so categorizes myself side by side with the person who listens to a grand total of#two and a half almost identical-sounding sub-genres of pop released between 2014 and 2025#oh how i suffer /self-mocking#tag rant
