Really liking my new tablet so far so lemme give a review. In summary, up front: If you draw on your phone with your fingers, this is a step up! If you draw on a pen tablet with a PC and want something more portable, this is good enough but not gonna be as good as your, say, Wacom or Huion.
I got the Ugee Q6 a week ago for use with my phone. (Important note: it works only on Android phones/tablets)
Been using it every day since to color (cell shading), sketch, and ink.
PROS:
- it's affordable (Depending on where you are. I got it for equivalent $24 on sale)
- it's very portable. Slightly wider than an A5 notebook and about as heavy as a hard bound book of the same size. The cord stores in the back of the tablet and the pen can be placed in the faux-leather loop
- pen pressure. Of course.
- this is what made me get this over other brands/models: the switch that toggles modes. If you use it with a phone, which has a tall screen, you'll want it in full phone screen mode so the proportions of the tablet area matches the screen. Same if you use an Android tablet or a laptop. (If your tablet area and screen match proportions, you can draw a circle on the tablet and expect a circle to appear on the screen, not an oval.) You can get used to tablet area proportions being off, but it takes a while and it's a pain in the ass.
- it doesn't use up much of my phone battery. Lost maybe 30% in two hours?
CONS:
- default pen pressure sensitivity isn't great. You can adjust sensitivity on a PC, but not on a phone-- unless you use Ibis Paint X. Ibis has its own sensitivity adjustment (pressure curve). The pen pressure is okay on other apps for sketching and coloring, but maybe not painting and inking. (I ink on Ibis because of this). You'd have to find apps that allow you to adjust the pressure curve to how you want it.
- there's a slight lag. It's not noticeable most of the time, especially not when sketching. But I've noticed it when inking. Sometimes when coloring. (I've checked other reviews, and a couple of people have also noticed it: an Osu! player and someone who takes notes with it.) I don't mind it but other people might.
YMMV:
- the pen is thinner and less grippy than I'm used to. Probably just gonna slap a pen grip on it. It's about the width of a mechanical pencil.
- the textural feedback of the pen against the tablet surface is a little plastic-y, but with a little more grip to it. Kind of between plastic and smooth rubber. I'm more used to a really textured, metallic(?) feeling surface.
- the cord is really short. It's more designed for mobiles. If you want to use it for a PC you'll need an extension cord.
...
And that's it, that's the very long review. Dunno if this thing will last, but if it lasts a year I'd be happy with that. It was (relatively) cheap after all. (It doesn't feel cheap)
#ugee q6#tablet review#for any digital artists who follow me#i know that's not many lol#but maybe the 2 out of 10 people who follow me might find this useful#digital art

i said this yesterday and its been a while since i mentioned it and even longer since i explained what it means and why? basically a primary/intended audience is the people that will care about what youre putting out the most, first and foremost. ive centered my art's intended audience around myself, as a way to make sure i dont cloutchase or pin self worth on other's approval or get burnt out on things i dont want to draw. i know myself and how my brain works and none of those would be a good situation for either of us, so i make sure that i like the art i draw myself before i post it, and while i do consider what others think, i dont prioritize other's approval or attention over my own approval or attention on my art. its always appreciated but its never like. the main sole initiative to post whatever ive drawn next
#sometimes i come across artists who draw solely to get and maintain a large audience and they share tips like 'flip and recolor old art to-#stay up on posting! your audience will never notice' and i just get so sad for them#youre posting art for digital hearts and solely for digital hearts#not even for comments from people who really care about your stuff. do you even like your art? or do you just think you need to draw whats#popular to stay relevant and to maintain your follows list? not even a community just a number of followers?#i could never. its so against my art morals in so many ways#i decided to be my own primary audience for like self care mental health reasons and gotta say im glad i decided to do that#before any like art clout brainworms got in my head#anyway sidenote this bleeds into other things too#i make references that only i get sometimes#i dropped a kul backstory easter egg into on my my uc art post tags semi recently and that was just a special little treat for me#literally no one noticed. or said that they noticed#hehe#anyways i dont know if this makes sense ive tried to make this post like 3 times today before getting interrupted. either way! post!

Wilbur boy and his siblings since people liked the first post <33 Fun fact: he's based on two beetles. 1, a rhino beetle bc they are so recognizable as like THE beetle, and 2, death feigning beetles. And just like death feigning beetles, when stressed, Wilbur will flop over and play dead. Scared the life out of his poor fathers the first time it happened after his metamorphosis. Because of this, he has to do low stress jobs and is not allowed to be behind the counter at work doing customer service. He will roll over and die

WHO is going to stop me from making a 60s themed girl-group of animatronics?
No one? I'm being enabled? Groovy, baby
This is Pinky the Rat! She's very much a Girl Next Door, and the Heart of the Girls' Night group. Without Pinky, the other girls wouldn't have nearly as strong of a bond. Pinky loves her friends, and there's no question that they love her.
She's the smallest of the entire cast, and to some people (Not naming names, Gattina), that just means she's very portable. If I imagine a Girls' Night cartoon, Pinky would get kidnapped pretty frequently, meaning that her band mates would be coming to rescue their resident damsel in distress.
That doesn't mean she's just a sitting prize or anything. She knows the deal. If the crew had D&D classes, she's like a rogue. She takes opportunities and uses them skillfully, like a utility knife. Chewing through things is her special move. I'd give her a knife, but that would require a raise in age rating. You know how it is, FNAF fans.

18+ Squirting
Bucky had been at it for hours. Taunting you. Teasing you. Tantalizing. Tormenting. His fingers, be it flesh or vibranium, tickled your skin with the tiniest of pressures. Enough to get your blood pumping. The pulps of his calloused digits pushed into your skin, kneading, fondling, massaging every inch of your body. He knew exactly how to read you, how to arouse you. From the feather light brushes against your abdomen to the deep pressure on your thighs.
“Look how beautiful you are.”
He hushed your pleading whines and kissed away your petulant pouts. He reassured you that he simply wanted to take his time. But his eyes told a different story. The determined glint in those beautiful blues told you that he had a plan.
“Let me take care of you.”
The way he moved was exquisite, smooth, like fluid. Bucky’s ministrations were so distracting that you only realized he was undressing you when your tank top caught the tip of your nose. He apologized, nuzzling you, peppering kisses over the offended organ. He never failed to make you feel loved, even when he was planning on doing the dirtiest things to you.
“I love you like this.”
Exposed. Fully. Stripped bare of every thread that covered your form. That’s how he liked it. Bucky loved having access to each and every part of you. He worked on all your sensitive areas, intimately familiar with how your nipples responded to his touch. Under his attention, they had the ability to grow as tall as mountains and as hard as diamonds. He chuckled darkly as you writhed with pleasure beneath him.
"Just like that, Doll?"
You nodded, your mind lost in the moment. His lips left marks as worked on your skin. He was the artist and you were his canvas, ready to be molded to his pleasing. There were no limits to his abilities to draw out your beauty.
“I will coax every gasp, every moan, every noise I can get out of you.”
He didn't waste time in making good on his assurances. Bucky put his talented tongue to use, licking thick stripes over your folds. It left you crying out for more, only for him to oblige. His lips formed a circle around your clit, which he gave a warning lick before applying the perfect amount of pressure to make you scream. Bucky watched out of the top corners of his eyes as you arched your back and clutched at the bedsheets.
“I'm here. I'm right here. Hold onto me.”
Next he introduced you to his fingers, smooth and cold but once they were coated in your slick arousal, they slid in and out of your sheath with ease. Bucky felt you stretch as he pushed in and out, caressing your walls with his dark and golden digits. He was an expert in finding that special place where you were most sensitive and made the most of his talents. Brushing against you with the most erotic pace. His lips pressed against the top of your head.
“Wish I could fuck you right now. I want you to sit on my cock, be so deep inside you until you’re screaming for everyone to hear… ‘til you forget who you are and all you can think about is how good I make you feel. But that’s not the plan. I want to make you squirt all over my pants and ruin them.”
You gasped at his words. He let the pressure build within you at an agonizingly slow pace. Every movement elicited its own special sound from you, he played your body like an instrument to the tune of a symphony of his desires. Everyone of these notes rang with the melody of your pleasure.
“Are you going to give me what I want, Doll? Are you going to come for me?”
Bucky murmured as he continued to bring you closer to your climax. An old familiar feeling coiled inside of you, ready to be released at any moment. He pulled your hips into his lap, looking hungrily at your sex, like he could devour you right there. But he had a plan and he was going to follow through. He licked his flesh fingers and pressed them against your swollen nub. Rubbing perfect circles to drive you over the edge. You squeezed your eyes shut as your walls clenched around him. Waves of ecstasy rolling through your body. Back arched. Toes curled. Heart pounded. Bucky's plan came to fruition as your sweet juices poured out around his fingers.
“That's my girl. You did such a good job for me. Just look at this mess you've made. All for me.”
He smiled down at you, looking proud of his pretty princess.

slyly reblogs this nearly a year later to explain part of my motivation behind this was also this sentiment i see growing a lot lately which is what defines art is apparently ones 'enjoyment' of the 'process'
which was you know odd to me as an artist who hates the process kind of a lot. especially sketching. i don't really have a great love of the process. my process is slow and grueling. but i want it done, so i do it.
i've seen this sentiment booming again lately, which i find um...frustrating? perhaps? because the argument is always 'ai art is not art because artists enjoy the process and thats what makes art art' which puts me at a loss. do i no longer count as art because i don't? what is the work i make, then, if it's not art? is the difference a computer cannot feel positively or negatively or is it that some people, genuinely, think all artists must enjoy the process and that is what defines their work? Is it having a process at all part of what defines art as art, regardless of how one feels about it, and these people are just projecting their enjoyment like i am projecting my frustration?
this is interesting to me particularly because of this very small poll, where even in this small handful of people the results are very mixed. some of us create because we enjoy the process of doing and some of us create because we want to see it done and some of us are somewhere in-between, art form to art form and project to project.
which goes to my next point.
what about yall is art to you defined by the enjoyment of the process or something else? is it crucial to your definition of what art is that the artist enjoys the process of making the work? or is it just the fact that they have one, love it or hate it.
i know i mention ai in this but i want you to think like more broadly when answering this question. like rather then trying to figure out the issue of defining out ai, think about your own definition personally about art in general yours or otherwise.
so i've been thinking about a conversation i had with my girlfriend a while ago, especially after a few conversations i had since, and i was wondering what other creatives thought.
often my creative process is not driven by love of the process but by a desire to see it done. i find this the most satisfying part for the most part. even with my favorite part of the process, line art, the biggest drive for me is seeing the line art done, if that makes sense. i love doing all the little details because i like to see all the little details finished so on and so forth. another example being like, i don't like any step of making comics but i love finishing comics more then anything. what drives me to finish comics is the simple act of having the comic done and out of my head. it's incredibly satisfying to me.
surely there's nuance here, as much as i like seeing stuff done i also love mindless, repetitive tasks. but what sparked this conversation was discussing the difference between loving the process and loving the result and some theorizing on why a certain animation director who keeps wanting to retire keeps not wanting to retire. which has got me thinking like what is more common, the love of the process or the love of having something done? also is it different for different art forms, different projects, so on and so forth. do other people not think about this much at all have i just been thinking about it too much this past like week and a half?
no 'i don't create' option because we all have created in our lives at least once, i ask of you to think of that time and what was the best part for you and if you truly hated all of it just pick the last option fghjklasdfghjk
also leave anything you want in the tags i love hearing about other peoples process and thoughts behind creating stuff so i'd love to see it!!
#fab talks#fabtalks#a curiosity at fabdante.tumblr.com#been wondering this on and off as i see people i follow on instagram parroting this sort of thing due to you know the ai announcement#and it just has me wondering genuinely like#im curious how people define art but more curious about how people try to define ai art out of being art because it's very difficult#to do that without then excluding other real artists#even the blanketed 'art must be created by a human' poses the dilemma of animals who create art#which goes into i think legal issues as well because i think animals who make art are legally protected as living beings who produced#also it can be easily argued by the prompters of the ai art that they are necessary for the process of that ai art as a living person and#the computer is thus their medium like digital artists and just look yo usee how it becomes difficult to cut out ai without defining#out a lot of artists as you try to become specific enough to cut out ai but broad enough to include artists#so naturally the process of art itself has become focus of people who want to define art in a way that cuts out ai since we have one and a#computer prompter arguably doesn't (i suppose prompting is a process but is it an art process is the argument i think)#this is interesting to me idk asdfghjk is it interesting to any of you?

5-minute survey about crafts and information/data
Spotted on Reddit:
Hi everyone! I'm a PhD student and a fellow fiber artist myself, and I’m working on conducting a research project that is potentially relevant for some of you! I’d absolutely love to have anyone here who qualifies participate, and please let me know if you have any questions! Thanks! Here’s our whole call for participation: Have you made a fiber arts project (knitting, crocheting, embroidery, sewing, weaving, and many others) that shows or represents information or data? We’re a team of researchers looking for participants for a 5-minute survey where you’ll answer a few questions and upload an image of your completed work. The survey can be completed on any device where you have access to pictures of your work. In the survey, you can decide whether you want your work to be shown as part of the research project and how we attribute it. You can access the survey and more details on the link below. We are also looking to conduct paid follow-up surveys if the work qualifies, so please let us know in the survey if you are interested! This study was reviewed by Northeastern University’s Institutional Review Board as IRB#24-12-27. Even if you’re unsure if your work would be included, we encourage you to participate regardless! We’d like to be as inclusive as possible and see as wide of a range of work as we can, so having lots of examples is very helpful! You can find the link to participate here: https://neu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_b9hTGsHewAzmfxY Thank you so much! We’re crafters ourselves and looking forward to understanding your work and providing a platform for crafters to share their work broadly!
If you've ever knitted one of those "colour of the sky on each day of the year" scarves, crocheted a "digits of pi" scarf or whatnot, this is for you!

Oh uh forgot to ask in the previous ask (the one with the digital piece of candy and scurrying and stuff)
How do you draw art so good
Like
Is there a method you use or is that just the style you've gotten over time?
you've activated my trap card
I'm just gonna preface that this tutorial is from someone who was not professionally trained and didn't have a lot of free time for art, so a lot of the tips I have is short cuts I use to get the best results quickly
If you genuinely want to get better at art then please look at references and practice that is always the best
However if you are like me and only really do art for fun but want to go faster then these are for you pfppt
Overall I'd say my style is influenced by speedpaints I would watch when I was younger, I like analyzing how people do things and what makes something look "good" to me
I always recommend watching them because they will often have techniques you've never seen before or do things a certain way that you can try out yourself
I consume good art, it feeds me
but seriously it can be super helpful when developing your own methodology, or just generally trying something new
Usually it starts with me pulling some references from artists I really admire and sort of sketching out how they do the things I like
For example 8um8le has like super good anatomy and poses so I focused on trying to replicate how they do that
venemous-qwille is super good at color and pulling focus so that's what I focused on in my study of them
In general I'd say my process is sketch -> silhouette -> color -> shading -> render
I really don't like doing lineart lol
I'd say for the sketch the most important part is using references and just kind of fudging it until it looks correct anatomically/physically
General rule of thumb is spend time on areas of interest, and keep non important areas light (like the stitching on his pants)
I don't do lineart because I think its unnecessary for most paintings I do
I naturally tend to put more time and focus on areas of interest (like hands and feet) and if you use a brush with opacity for the sketch, those areas are naturally going to be darker in the final sketch
Of course this is gonna be different for everyone but it's what works for me
Sometimes I do a really really sketchy layer underneath my sketch/lineart, just so I know where everything is going
Use thumbnails! They are great to help figure out the general layout of things and what pose I wanna do
Next is what I call the "silhouette" layer
This is super important for me cause it helps me refine the figure and make sure the pose/anatomy looks correct, also depending on what color I choose for the silhouette helps guide what colors I'm going to use on top
This piece is a good example of how it works. The silhouette shows me how the figure interacts with the background, how the pose looks and if its any good
The silhouette layer doesn't have to be super clean, as long as it follows the sketch decently well and shows where the figure is then its fine
I also sometimes make the silhouette layer multiple colors to help guide shading and vibe
Next is the coloring layer. I usually make this a clipping layer on top of the silhouette layer, or I change the silhouette layer to alpha lock, either way it saves me time on coloring everything in
Sometimes I am super rough with the coloring too, using like an airbrush or my fav watercolor brush just to generically block in color where I want it
Works out cause most objects have like a bounce light to them from surrounding objects, so this is sort of a cheat I use to get that effect without all the work lol
Also don't be afraid to have the lower silhouette layer shining through, having multiple colors sort of subtly shining through the piece helps lots
Next is the shading layer, this is usually another clipping layer, usually set to "multiply"
The colors I pick here is usually within this range, any color works, just depends on the piece and vibes.
Since this piece is set in a sunset forest I choose a more desaturated orange for the shading layer
I know there's a whole thing about multiply layer being a crutch (and it kind of it) but it is a useful tool when you just want some darker values across the piece but don't want to go through the process of color picking every single darker shade
Also in my opinion it looks better than picking a darker color and setting it to a lower opacity, idk I just think the color has more "depth"
Next is the hardest to explain, sort of the vibes layer
Usually its just a layer of more concentrated color on top of the normal color and I fudge with the settings and values until I get a result I like
Next is the longest step, is the "extra" or the render stage.
Usually I add a background before this step so that if I need to merge the figure better with the background I can
If I render with a white background but he's supposed to be in a dark forest, its going to mess with the lighting severely
Also this is when I add more "vibe" layers on top to get the figure to match the background better
Backgrounds in general I recommend checking out @/derekdomnicdsouza on instagram he's got lots of great tutorials for breaking down backgrounds simply
I'd say general rule for the rendering layer is to focus on the areas of interest and spend less time on areas you don't care about
I even blur stuff out on the edges I don't want people to see, partially to save time on fixing mistakes in areas I dont care about (oop), but mainly to help draw the eye to the areas I do want people to focus on
Theoretically parts of the background should like mesh with the characters, parrallel lines are a no no unless they are directing a viewer to look somewhere, things that are perpendicular help bring things together
tbh I'm still not the best at layout and probably need more practice, but overall this is what I like doing
Overall this is what my layer set up ends up being
Sort of a sandwich with the lineart/sketch as the "meat" lol
Color and basic shading below the sketch, clean-up and rendering on top
I like this method cause it's super flexible if I ever want to try something different or try to replicate someone's style
I can make each step less or more messy depending on the end result and can add a lineart layer if need be. Also if there's a part that is straight up not working or needs to be removed its super easy to do cause I can just paint over it on the "extras" layer, color picking from the surrounding area to get the same vibe
Generally rule of thumb for my style is: get the initial layout of colors, form and shading to look good, then the rendering should be smooth sailing
Really the best advice I can give to get better at art is to enjoy what you're doing and become very very obsessed with drawing a silly little guy
You'll eventually get very good at drawing them pfptpf
#sundrop#moondrop#long post#art tutorial#fnaf sun#fnaf moon#I draw them way too much holy guac#ask#this is for you asker#idk if anyone else is interested in this kind of stuff#i apologize for ranting lol#also me struggling to spell silhouette like 15 times

𝑽𝒊𝒗𝒛𝒊𝒆𝒑𝒐𝒑 𝒅𝒆𝒇𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒊𝒍𝒐𝒕?
(Hi there... Missed me ? Well lets begin:)
On January 24th, it was reported that the “Vivziereceipts” account had updated the thread compiling questionable actions against the creator of the series, Vivziepop (Vivienne M.). In which an uncensored fragment of a conversation that had been initially shared by the user Erin Frost was revealed.
𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒂𝒍𝒍, 𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒊𝒔 𝑬𝒓𝒊𝒏 𝑭𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒕?
(A little reminder that) the individual was one of the first artists to publicly express what the work situation was like working with the SpindleHorse and to comment on Vivziepop's behavior in 2022. But in this case we focus on the fact that Vivziereceipts showed that the conversation Erin Frost had was with the animator and voice actress Ashley Nicole (currently being the Voice Actress of Zooble for the series The Amazing Digital Circus).
𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏?
In a nutshell the conversation gives way to how Viv had commented to Ashley about not hiring Erin Frost to work for Far-Fetched, as Viv referred to Erin as a “mentally unstable” person and what stood out the most in the conversation was the mention of how Ashley found out that Vivziepop had spread rumors about her, among which is how Ashley is a “S3x_al Predator” and being abusive to her boyfriend Michael Kovach
𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒎𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆?
If it is indeed true, then we are talking about how Viv was defaming Ashley N. And to understand the importance that Ashley was for the “old fandom” was that she has participated in the development of the pilot being through the role of “Cleanup Artist” and in which she was in charge of keeping the whole community alive through broadcasts, usually being “Sketches” live broadcasts and also with the purpose of doing it under a charitable purpose.
Where it was that in these live broadcasts there have been quite a few iconic moments for the community at that time, taking for example the moments of “Oh, Ashley” which was a recurring joke among the members of the Hunicast and for the community that followed the Hunicast.
Therefore even with all the contributions that Ashley has made (without forgetting her friends and her partner) in order to retain the audience and enliven the community (of the pilot at that time), it ends up being despised thanks to what was mentioned in the conversation making it seem that Viv doesn't care about any of that, which puts her in the eye of the storm since we are literally talking about her defaming the person who helped her significantly in the project that is now Hazbin Hotel.
So that would be all for now on that situation...
