Hello Anon! And that I will gladly answer this for ya! I will start off with Callie and Graves!

Between the two. Graves age is 40 years old in 2022. I don’t exactly know WHEN is his birthday and I got that age from one of @sleepyconfusedpotato post about the COD characters age which you will see right here!

Anyway, since Graves is 40 years old at the releases of MW2 in 2022. And Callie (my SC OC!) is in her late 30s. Sooooo. Somewhere between 36 to 40. But she’s not 40 years old at that year. She’s not born the same year as Graves. So I was thinking that she’ll be…2 years younger than him!

So she was 38 years old in 2022 when they released MW2 and turned 39 in 2023 when they released MW3 campaign.

Yup. She’s getting old. But still got that young beauty features.

So to answer this one for you Anon! Graves and Callie as being the siblings. They are about 2 years apart!

And now for Tiala, Kanoa and the rest of their siblings! Be prepared! For this is gonna be a LONG one!

We will be using Tiala as our main character to know the age difference between her and her brothers!

Starting off with her ELDEST brother, who had sadly passed away, is HŌNE TOA. Hōne had passed away at the age of 35 and that’s when Tiala JUST turned 16 years old. The day when she was waiting for her older brother to come home. So between 35 and 16. Hōne is 19 years older than Tiala. And the day that MW3 had been released, Tiala should be 28 and she’s 29 right now turning 30 years old this year in November. So for Hōne, in MW3 he should be 47 years old and he should be 48 right now and turning 49 this year in October.

Ok! Next up, we had SAMI TOA. Tiala’s 2nd older brother. Sami is only 3 years younger than Hōne. So between him and Tiala. He’s 15 years older than her. So going by the timeline of the campaign. In MW3, Sami should be 43 years old and he should be 45 right now since his birthday is around April (his birthday is around that month).

Next is RANGI TOA. Tiala’s 3rd oldest brother. Rangi is only 4 years younger than Sami. Between him and Tiala, he is 11 years older than her. Going by the timeline. MW3 he would be 39 years old. He should be 41 years old right now since it’s already past May (that’s his birthday in that month).

Now next up is your favorite BOI! KANOA TOA! Tiala’s 4th oldest brother! He is 6 years younger than Rangi and is 5 years older than Tiala. So in MW3, he should be 33 years old and is 35 right now since April had already passed!

And now to the younger brothers!

First one up is HEMI TOA! Tiala’s 5th youngest brother! Hemi is a police officer in American Samoa taking a police academy class. So between him and Tiala. He is 6 years younger than her. In MW3, he should be 22 years old and is 23 right now and will turn 24 years old this year once October comes.

Next one is IOSEFA TOA. He is 3 years younger than Hemi and is 9 years younger than Tiala. He’s in college right now since he signed up for it after he graduated from high school. In MW3, he should be 19 years old. Already turned 20 this year since February had passed.

TAMAH TOA is next y'all! We’re almost there! Tama is 1 year younger than Iosefa and 10 years younger than his older sister. He’s not taking classes or even working. He just usually stayed around the house to help out his parents. He sometimes assists his father in the mechanics of fixing the cars or trucks. Anyway, in MW3 Tamah should be 18 years old and is already 19 this year since April had passed.

FETU FETUAO TOA is next on the list! There’s only ONE more and then we’re done! Fetu is 1 year younger than Tamah and is 11 years younger than Tiala. He’s in High School at the moment and is ready to graduate. So he was 17 years old in MW3 and is already 18 since March already passed and graduated from High School!

And lastly, the TWINS! IONA and KIONA TOA! The twins are also 1 year younger than Fetu and 12 years younger than Tiala. And they sure are some troublemakers. The twins were 16 years old and were in high school. So in MW3, they are 17 years old and still in school. And will turn 18 this year until September.

On a Scale from One to America...

Leon going back to his usual charming self after a Kraang invasion had… taken a while. 

He’d still been a quippy little fucker, to be sure. But with every new threat it was as though a little piece of his joy had been chipped away. And just because Kraang had been an actual nightmare, it didn’t stop New York from being a hotspot for criminal activity. 

By the time he’d turned 17 the streets were full of rats, all under the control of some nutcase who called himself the Rat King, and he’d been almost 19 when that maniac had finally been put away for good. Then he’d spent the next three years dealing with a now adult Baxter Stockboy (who insisted he be called Stockman but like that was ever going to happen), whose mousers had run him and his brothers out of their lair and had almost killed April in the climax of it all. 

They’d had only a two month stint of peace after that, and then, on the cusp of 22, some asshole who called himself New Shredder had decided he had a real vendetta against him and his brothers (get in line bud), and he’d once again nearly died trying to save his family. He’d nearly bled out all over the new lair and Donatello and Raph had disappeared for a week while he was healing- only to return with the grim assurance that New Shredder was no longer an issue (and Leo had refused to ask for details, not with the way Donnies eyes had glinted with malice when he’d opened his mouth to do so). 

And now Leo is 24 and…. 

Fuck… had he ever been funny?

Any coping mechanisms he’d gained in childhood had turned quickly into just cope, and one liners were pushed to the side while in constant pursuit to keep his brothers alive. Make it another day. Keep breathing. Keep going. 

It’s not about me.

So when he’d met you, it had been… jarring. 

“I swear I know you,” you’d told him, standing near the harbor, the lights of Alberto Land flickering in the distance, and Leo had just raised a brow ridge. 

“I’m literally out on the streets everyday saving this city’s ass.” 

“No, no,” you dismissed him with a wave, “That isn’t it. We’ve definitely met.” 

Before Leo can answer, you snap your fingers. 

“Oh! I know! You look just like my next boyfriend.” 

Leave it to April to make friends with a comedian. 

But his brothers had all snickered, flocking to your easy wit and charm, and Leo had been unable to keep you away from them. 

And truth be told, Leo was intrigued. 

“Cat got your tongue?”

Leo glares. 

“If not I’d be happy to-” 

“Stop, no. That’s terrible!” 

But you’d laughed and shrugged, throwing your arms around Mikey when he’d lifted you off the ground and twirled you about. 

“April,” Leo had told her one night on patrol. “Your friend is broken.”

But April looked a little sad when she smiled at him. 

“You sure it’s her?” 

And yeah, that stung. Leo used to be like this. He used to be like you. Funny. Outgoing. 

Happy. 

Part of him hated you for being such a stark reminder of all he’d lost. 

One night at Run of the Mill, you’d bounded up to him and with all the subtlety of a rock through a window had said, “I forgot my library card!” 

“This is a pizza pla-”

“Now I can’t check you out!”

“I’ll fucking murder you.” 

But he’d been unable to hide the little smile. When you’d looked victorious, he’d drown the look in a pitcher of beer, face pinched in a tight frown.

With the passing of his 25th birthday, Leo is finding the quiet on the villain front… concerning. He knew that it wasn’t a matter of if the next threat would come, but when it would show itself. 

But the lull continued, and in it there was suddenly an abundance of free time. Free time where Mikey cooked nonstop and Donnie invented and Raph took up knitting. Free time where his brothers dragged him to bars and clubs and theme parks. Free time where he was forced to partake in comic cons and wrestling matches and art galleries. 

Free time that felt wrong. Where was the next threat? Where was the next villain- if not on the distant horizon?

And through all this free time, all these leisure activities, there you were, like a cold he couldn’t shake. Plaguing his life with unwavering joy that always seemed like a spotlight on what he used to be. 

“Pretty sure I’m getting a parking ticket,” you tell him one night in the lair, and when he doesn’t respond, just looks at you with a bored expression, you add, “because you’re so fine.”

Leo snorts. “That was awful.” 

“Did it work?” 

“It did not.” 

Maybe it had worked a little, he decides later, fist tugging over his cock in the silence of his room, the whine of your name escaping his lips. 

“You’ve gotta stop bringing her around,” he tells April, looking out at the living room where you sprawl over the couch, bare feet trying to pinch Donatello’s thigh while he growls at you to knock it off.

“Why? She loves you guys!” 

Leon’s eyes narrow. “She’s gonna get hurt.” 

“How?!” April had exclaimed. “Nothing’s going on!” 

If possible, Leo’s frown deepens. 

“Now why would you jinx us like that?”

“Leo,” April says with a sigh. “Even if another big bad shows up… she's an adult. She gets to choose if she wants to be in the line of that danger.” 

That had done nothing to help Leo’s worry. It was incessant. Nagging. Something was going to happen. Something was bound to happen. They were Mutant Ninja Turtles. They lived a life that was not at all reflected of the peace they seemed to indulge in now. 

But the peace stretched. 

“Hey Leo, I heard you have a bone to pick with me,” you asked one night, the glow of a movie lighting up the hall from the living room to the kitchen, where you’d found him. 

“If this is a pick up line…” 

“Oooooohhhh, you’re right! That would have worked! Okay wait!” You flatten your hair and smooth out your smile. 

“Hey Leo,” you say again, voice dropping to a sultry tone, cocking your hip. “I heard you have a bone for me.” 

Leo shakes his head. “That is actually terrible.” 

“No, no, you’re supposed to say; I don’t! Why would you think that? And then I’ll say; Oh then what’s that in your pants?” 

It’s the moment he finally breaks. 

Leo laughs. 

“I hate you,” he says with a smile, and you smile back. 

“Look at that, you look so nice when you smile.” 

Something that feels like melancholy tugs at his heart. 

“Yeah… Yeah, I’ll have to try it more often.” 

And he does. 

“You guys are from Tennessee, right?”

Leo shakes his head and presses his lips together. 

“No.” 

“Cause you’re the only TEN I SEE… Get it? Ten I see, Tennessee?” 

“I got it,” Leo says, and he grins. 

And he does smile more when you’re around. And he laughs, and he feels a little more at ease, a little less worried. 

And his brothers notice. 

“Look at you, Leon! I don’t think I’ve heard you laugh like that since we were kids!” 

Leave it to Mikey to point it out. 

“I laugh!” Leo insists. 

Mikey gives what Leo feels is a very placating nod. 

“Yeah, sure. Don’t worry bro, I think she likes you too.”

Leo hates that his baby brother hadn’t even needed to say your name to get his point across. He has to wonder, after that, how much his brothers encourage you, because your pick up lines get progressively more risque. 

“Nice pants Leon! Think I can talk you out of them?”

“You look like you’re feeling down, want me to feel you up?” 

Halloween makes its appearance, and in line to a horror movie you turn to him and ask, “Are you a haunted house?” 

Leo squints at you. “Am I a haunted house? Where is this going?” 

“Cause I’d scream if you were in me.”

Leo turns nearly as red as the stripes over his eyes. 

“Too far?” you ask, also blushing. 

“Keep it up,” he chokes out. “Keep on playing games and you’ll find out.” 

“I don’t play games,” you tell him, both of you ignoring the way Raphael titters into his fist- clearly having heard the exchange. “I quit school cause of recess.” 

“Oof, that’s rough buddy.” 

He’s seeing your face a lot more when he jacks off though, and that is probably not a good thing. It’s there every time he closes his eyes and grips his cock, your name falling from his lips over and over like a chant or a prayer. 

Then it’s a cold and snowy winter, and you’ve apparently had time to find more material to use on him.

Leo takes a lot of hot showers that winter. 

Spring comes, and it finally happens. 

He’s supposed to stop by your apartment and portal you to the comic con, thereby avoiding all the pesky New York traffic from Brooklyn to Midtown. 

“Hold on,” you call from your bathroom. “Can’t decide on which Jupiter Jim shirt.” 

“Yeah, no rush!” 

He looks around, snooping in your fridge for a bottled water and chuckling when he sees you’ve hung up the photo booth pictures from last summer on your fridge. The two of you looked… happy. Leo looked happy. And you looked at him like he was the sun. Like he wasn’t broken or damaged.

You looked at him like you were in love.

From behind him, he hears you clear your throat, and with a glance over his shoulder he sees you standing with hands on hips and a smile. 

Something in Leo’s chest tightens. You’re so carefree. You’re so beautiful. You're his age, and you’d never had to worry about keeping your family safe. You didn’t have crows feet and a brow-chasm etched into your face from years of constant worry. Where Leo had spent the last handful of years bulking up so he’s be a veritable tank of a turtle, you were soft, pliant in all the places he was not

And yet… 

“Are you thirsty?” 

Here you were, about to use some awful, ridiculous pick up line on him. 

On him. 

“I’m broken.” 

He just says it, because he needs you to understand. 

Your smile falters a bit, lips tilting into a frown. 

“Uh… what?” 

“I’m broken. I don’t… I don’t know what you want from me.” 

And maybe that had been the issue all along. 

There is quiet that surrounds the two of you. 

“I don’t think you’re broken.” You say. 

You fiddle with the belt loops of your jeans, then add, “You know that we have met, right? Before all this?” 

Leo can only shake his head. 

“When… when Baxter sent out all those Mousers. You got a few of them off me, grabbed me up, and said- From one to America, how free are you tonight.” 

Leo can’t help but make a face. 

“Stop. I did not.” 

You give him a warbling little laugh. 

“Yeah, you did. And… even though it was a stupid little joke… I dunno. I wasn’t afraid anymore.” 

You’re just looking at him, and Leo wishes he could remember what you’ve recalled. He’d have been 20, maybe a little younger or a little older, and that tracked. Life had yet to wear him down fully at that point. Of course he’d saved some young, pretty girl, and made some dumb joke before portaling off to play hero.

“So when we met again… and you didn’t look happy… I guess I just wanted to…” 

You trail off, and Leo can’t help but ask, “Fix me?” 

“No,” you whisper with a shake of your head. “You aren’t broken. But… you’re afraid? I just wanted to make you… happy.” 

Leo does not cry. That would be stupid. In fact, he’s pretty sure he has allergies, because that is the best explanation for the way his throat seems to close up. 

He does grab you up though. Pulls you to his plastron and holds you there like you’re a life line. Like you’re a buoy in an endless ocean, shelter in a raging storm. 

He holds you tight and close, his grip on you firm, and when you rub your hands over the lip of his shell he has to bite the inside of his cheek to keep from sobbing into your neck like an actual baby. 

When he can speak without fear of his voice breaking, he clears his throat and asks, “So, on a scale of one to America-” 

Before he can finish you are pulling back, grabbing his cheeks, and standing on tiptoes to press your lips to his. 

“Forever, Leo. For you, I’m free forever.”

It's stupid how antis lie that Jenny was 16 when she slept with Chuck when they have no issue with Nate and Damien being involved with Jenny even though they"re the same age as Chuck. Her 17th birthday was a week before Nate's 19th in 3x17 which took place on April 5th and two months after Chuck's 19th. 3x22 was said to have happened in May therefore Jenny was 17 since her birthday is March 30th and Chuck 19 since his birthday's in January when they slept together. When Serena was 16 Carter jokingly wrote about her sleeping with billionaires in 1x10 which is creepy considering she was a minor and he was in his 20s. I do enjoy season 3 Vanderbaizen and their relationship outside of that creepiness. Not as creepy as him sleeping with Blair when she was in high school. He was groping Blair's leg when she was sitting alone at the bar heartbroken and he offered to buy her a drink even though unlike him she was under drinking age and primarily slept with her to get back at Chuck rather than genuine admiration. Even creepier since it's brought up in season 5 that after sleeping with Blair Carter stole and wore her underwear to a dinner. In Chuck and Jenny's case they were both heartbroken and under drinking age. I do like Carter more than Chuck but wouldn't consider him better. Even though Carter was ethical enough to help Elle flee when requested by Chuck I do find it questionable for him to have been a member of a secret group that had unwilling sex workers since Elle said she didn't want to be one and that if they tried to leave that profession they'd get killed since they knew "too much," and was forced to change her name and move far away. Disgusting how Bart was actively part of that ring for many years (since the 90s). It's one thing to not intervene against that illegal activity but another to actively have dubious/nonconsensual sex with sex workers who are forced to remain in that ring and some of them may have not wanted to be in it in the first place. It also bothered me how Bart only yelled at Chuck when an adult stripper was all over him in 1x7 when the adult deserved to be yelled at. Like Jack it was indicated multiple times that Bart was also into much younger women. Bart was just more reserved and protective over his reputation than Jack was, perhaps due to his age. He had dirt on everyone due to his detective and therefore knew Jack slept with Blair when she was in high school and continued to do business with him and didn't criticize him, even while also knowing since season 1 Chuck loved Blair. I found it inappropriate how Bart was feeling up Pauletta's lower back as her employer and it's understandable how Chuck thought he was hooking up with her since that's not how a boss is supposed to behave with an employee. It was also creepy how it was stated Tripp liked Serena years before they had an affair since she was 18 and he was 26 when they dated.

exactly!! chuck didn't sleep with jenny when she was underage nor was their age gap too much, especially if you take chuck's birthday as being in may instead of january meaning he was still 18 and jenny was 17. people love jenny and nate then turn around and hate chuck when the age difference is almost identical, it's so hypocritical and kinda odd like why does nate get a pass on all his questionable behaviour but chuck gets hate for things he never even did 😭😭

I never really liked the blair/carter thing and when u add in the age difference it's crazy like why was carter beefing with high schoolers and using a vulnerable blair to get one up on chuck, like I get why blair was in that headspace but carter just entirely took advantage of her and no-one really mentions it. also I always forget the underwear thing bc it's SO unnecessary and weird like what was the point of making a mostly forgotten fling even more bizarre. I definitely preferred carter with serena as I think he actually had feelings for her, but tbh I don't really like him and I think a lot of his fans are blinded by sebastian stan being attractive and just ignore carter's behaviour (again while they vilify chuck for the same or less)

truthfully I also forgot a lot about elle and the sex ring but it's definitely weird that carter was a member and that it just... kept going on?? bart being a member was fitting for him but also odd bc was he still sleeping with those women while he was married to lily?? it's all just kinda insane

I've always thought bart was just a massive hypocrite about chuck and women, and YES I've always thought that his hands were inappropriate on paulette like no wonder chuck saw that bc it didn't look platonic or reasonable at all. I'd never really considered that bart would know about jack and blair (which... I've already said I find that incredibly gross and pointless) but ur so right he never said or did anything about it. also the fact that bart always put the responsibility on chuck (a literal teenager) to behave appropriately when he's grown up with a serial womaniser as a father and an equally womanising uncle like why aren't u talking to the adult women here or trying to set a better example

"10 minutes until you say 'I do'," Foggy said as Matt finished getting ready for his wedding to Y/N. "I'm honestly surprised you two didn't elope."

Matt chuckled as he adjusted his tie. "We briefly discussed it but Y/N said she wanted to get married in the church with all of our friends and family there."

He smiled to himself. His proposal had gone off without a hitch and he and Y/N had quickly set a wedding date. "Maybe Aunt Ruth and I could start looking at wedding dresses while she's here for Thanksgiving next week," Y/N had said as they lay together in post-engagement coital bliss, her head on Matt's chest as he traced gentle patterns along her bare back.

Matt had nodded. "That sounds like a good idea."

Y/N had looked up at him. "What do you think about the end of April for our wedding? My lease will be up then so it kind of feels like the perfect time to get married."

A smile had spread across Matt's face. "April sounds nice. Want to call the church in the morning to see what dates they have open?"

"Mmm. Mmhmm."

They had called Clinton Church first thing the next morning and booked their wedding date for the end of April.

"Yeah, Aunt Ruth, come on in," Matt replied, turning towards the door as it opened. 

"Oh my goodness, don't you look handsome," Aunt Ruth said. "And Foggy, you as well."

"Thanks, Ms. Y/L/N," Foggy replied.

"Matt, Y/N would like to speak with you before the ceremony begins."

Matt's blood turned to ice in his veins. Shit, did she change her mind? "Is she okay?"

"Oh yes, everything is fine, dear, I promise," Aunt Ruth reassured him. "Y/N just decided that she wants a private moment with you before you say 'I do'." 

Matt let out a breath and nodded. "Okay."

Aunt Ruth led him down the hall to another room. "I'll see you in a bit, okay?"

Matt nodded and took a deep breath as Aunt Ruth walked away, then knocked softly on the door. "Y/N?"

"Come in," Y/N's voice replied.

Matt opened the door and stepped inside.

He could hear the gentle swish of Y/N's wedding dress as she turned towards him. "Hi, Matty."

"Hi, angel," Matt replied, still nervous that Y/N might have changed her mind about marrying him. "Is everything okay? Aunt Ruth said you needed to talk to me."

Y/N took his hand. "Yeah, sweetheart, everything's fine. I'm sorry if I scared you, I just… I wanted to show you something really quick."

She took a deep breath. "Remember how back when we were kids, all of our personal belongings were labeled with our names?"

Matt nodded. Y/N had helped him keep track of his stuff until he was able to put Braille labels on everything.

Y/N lifted Matt's hand up to the bodice of her dress, right where her heart steadily beat. "My heart has belonged to you since the moment we met."

Matt's brow furrowed as he traced the familiar bumps of Braille writing. M-a-t-t-h-e-w.

"It's in red to match our wedding colors," Y/N explained.

A broad smile spread across Matt's face and he shook his head, fighting the urge to start crying. "I really love you, you know that?" 

Y/N let out a light laugh. "That's good to know, sweetheart, especially considering that we're supposed to be getting married in less than 5 minutes."

Matt grinned. "I better run then. I don't want to spend a minute more than I absolutely have to without you as my wife."

Y/N pressed a kiss to his cheek. "I'll see you in a few minutes."

Matt nodded. "I'll be waiting."

"Love you."

Matt slipped out of the room and headed back down the hall.

"Hey, everything okay?" Foggy asked him as he re-entered his own waiting area.

Matt nodded, unable to keep a smile off of his face. "Yeah, everything's perfect."

Foggy let out a sigh of relief. "Okay, good. Ready then? It's time."

Matt nodded again. "More than ready."

"Alright, let's go get you married."

He and Foggy headed into the church and took their places at the front of the altar, and a few moments later, a soft melody started playing.

Matt waited as Father Davis took his place as officiant, followed by Karen as Y/N's maid of honor, then Harley, Y/N's coworker Jessica's son, as ring bearer and Sophie as flower girl.

He took a deep breath as the doors opened once again and the Bridal March began.

A smile spread across his face as Y/N began her walk towards him.

As she approached, Matt thought back to that first moment they had met. He had immediately known that she was the answer to his prayer, but he hadn't quite realized at the time that he had also been hers.

He held his hand out to Y/N as she reached him, pressing a kiss to the top of her hand before turning to face Father Davis.

"Good afternoon," Father Davis said.

"Good afternoon, Father," everyone replied.

"In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."

"Amen."

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness Matthew and Y/N join together in holy matrimony. Let us begin with our opening prayer."

Y/N and Matt bowed their heads as Father Davis raised a hand over them. "Dear Heavenly Father," he began, "we ask your blessing down upon Matthew and Y/N as they pledge their lives to one another through the sacrament of marriage. May they look to you for guidance in all that they do, in your name, amen."

"Amen," everyone repeated.

"Please be seated."

Matt and Y/N knelt hand-in-hand on the portable kneeler as everyone sat and Aunt Ruth walked up to do the first reading.

"A reading from the Book of Genesis," she began. "The Lord God said, 'It is not good for man to be alone. I shall make a suitable partner for him. So the Lord formed out of the ground various wild animals and birds of the air'…"

Matt subtly turned his head towards Y/N, who was glancing over at him. 

He gave her hand a squeeze, their silent signal for I love you.

Y/N squeezed his hand back twice in response. I love you too.

"The word of the Lord," Aunt Ruth finished.

Matt turned his attention back to the lectern. "Thanks be to God."

Everyone answered the responsorial psalm, then Foggy walked up to do the second reading. 

He cleared his throat. " A reading from the first letter from St. Paul to the Corinthians.

'If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

Matt smiled to himself. By that definition, Y/N was love, and Matt was the luckiest man on earth by getting to have her for the rest of his life.

"Love never ends," Foggy continued. "But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end. 

Faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love'."

He went to step down then caught himself. "Uh, the word of the Lord."

"Thanks be to God," Matt replied with a grin.

Next followed the Gospel Acclamation, then the Gospel.

Matt and Y/N stayed kneeling while everyone else sat for the homily.

"I haven't had the privilege of knowing Matthew and Y/N for very long," Father Davis began, "but from what their loved ones have told me, it's about time they got married."

Matt grinned and nodded in agreement as their wedding guests chuckled.

"From my understanding, they met as young children and immediately became inseparable," Father Davis continued, "as only truly best friends can be…"

Matt listened as Father Davis continued tying his and Y/N relationship to the readings.

"God has brought Matthew and Y/N together not once, but twice, and so here we are today, celebrating their love and commitment to one another," Father Davis concluded, turning towards them. "Matthew and Y/N, may you continue to love and support one another all the days of your lives."

Matt nodded and gave Y/N's hand a squeeze.

Father Davis sat for a moment in silent reflection, then stood once again. "Please rise."

Matt and Y/N stood and faced one another. Here we go.

"Matthew and Y/N," Father Davis said, "you have come together into the house of the Church so that in the presence of the Church’s minister and the community your intention to enter into Marriage may be strengthened by the Lord with a sacred seal. Christ abundantly blesses the love that binds you. Through a special Sacrament, he enriches and strengthens those he has already consecrated by Holy Baptism, that they may be faithful to each other forever and assume all the responsibilities of married life. And so, in the presence of the Church, I ask you to state your intentions."

He then went through the standard questions about whether Matt and Y/N were there of their own free will, whether they agreed to love, honor and cherish each other, and whether they would welcome any children they were blessed with, all to which both Matt and Y/N answered in the affirmative.

Father Davis nodded. "Since it is your intention to enter into the sacrament of Holy Matrimony, please join your right hands."

Matt smiled as Y/N took his hand in hers.

"Matthew, do you take Y/N to be your wife?" Father Davis asked. "Do you promise to be faithful to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love her and to honor her all the days of your life?"

Matt nodded, a broad smile on his face. "I do."

His smile grew even wider as he heard Y/N's heart flutter.

"And do you, Y/N, take Matthew to be your husband?" Father Davis asked Y/N. "Do you promise to be faithful to him in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love him and to honor him all the days of your life?"

"I do," Y/N replied, the love and adoration in her voice music to Matt's ears.

"Then may the Lord in his kindness strengthen the consent you have declared before the Church and graciously bring to fulfillment his blessings within you," Father Davis continued. "What God has joined, let no one tear asunder."

Matt couldn't help but grin. We did it. We're married.

Foggy stepped around Matt and handed their rings to Father Davis.

Father Davis sprinkled some holy water over their rings. "Bless and sanctify your servants in their love, O Lord, and let these rings, a sign of their faithfulness, remind them of their love for one another.

Through Christ our Lord."

"Amen," Matt and Y/N said together.

Father Davis handed Matt Y/N's ring. "Matthew, place this ring on Y/N's left hand and repeat after me: ' Y/N, receive this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity'. "

Matt took Y/N's hand and slid her wedding band next to her engagement ring. "Y/N, receive this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity."

"And Y/N," Father Davis continued, "place this ring on Matthew's left hand and repeat after me: 'Matthew, receive this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity'."

Y/N slid Matt's ring onto his finger, the cool metal a comforting weight against his skin. "Matthew, receive this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity."

Matt grinned. While they were shopping for their wedding rings he had been fully prepared for Y/N to just choose a ring for him and be done with it, but instead Y/N had had him try on rings made from all sorts of materials and in all sorts of designs until Matt had found the one he was most comfortable with wearing.

You're the one who has to wear it for the rest of your life, she had said, so shouldn't your comfort be the most important thing?

He turned his attention back towards the altar as Karen walked up to do the Intercessions. "Please respond, 'Lord hear our prayer', " she said.

"Lord hear our prayer," everyone replied automatically.

"For Matthew and Y/N, may they continue to grow and love one another through the faith of their Church, we pray to the Lord."

"Lord hear our prayer."

"For the souls of Matt's father and Y/N's mother, may they rest in peace knowing that their children have found solace in one another, we pray to the Lord."

"Lord hear our prayer."

"For all those in need of intercession, we pray to the Lord."

"Lord hear our prayer."

"We now pause to add our own intentions in silence." Karen paused for a few moments. "We pray to the Lord."

"Lord hear our prayer."

Father Davis waited as Karen took her place back at Y/N's side, then said, "Let us now share the words that Jesus taught us to pray."

Everyone recited the Lord's Prayer, then Father Davis moved back in front of Y/N and Matt. "Matthew and Y/N, please kneel and join hands."

Matt took Y/N's hand in his, grinning as she ran her thumb over his ring.

"Let us pray to the Lord for this bride and groom," Father Davis said, "who kneel at the altar as they begin their married life, that they may always be bound together by love for one another."

After a moment of silence, he continued. "Holy Father, maker of the whole world, who created man and woman in your own image and willed that their union be crowned with your blessing, we humbly beseech you for these your servants, who are joined today in the Sacrament of Matrimony.

May your abundant blessing, Lord, come down upon this bride, Y/N, and upon Matthew, her companion for life, and may the power of your Holy Spirit set their hearts aflame from on high, so that, living out together the gift of Matrimony, they may adorn their family with children and enrich the Church."

"Amen," everyone added.

"Matthew and Y/N, please rise."

Matt grinned as they stood.

"By the power vested in me by the state of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Matthew, you may kiss your bride."

Matt turned towards Y/N and cupped her face in his hands, then pressed his lips to hers. My wife.

"It is my pleasure to present, for the first time ever, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew and Y/N Murdock!" Father Davis continued.

Matt took Y/N's hand in his as they headed back down the aisle.

Y/N gave him another kiss as they reached the end. "I love you so much, Matty."

Matt hummed happily. "I love you too, my angel."

They made their way back around to the altar so they could sign their marriage license and take their wedding photos before walking over to the church's event center for their reception.

Matt grinned over at Y/N as they waited in the lobby for the deejay to announce their arrival. "You think anyone will notice if we skip the reception?"

Y/N huffed out a laugh. "Ready to get our honeymoon started, huh?"

Matt smirked. "Something like that."

"Well considering we're the center of attention and we have our first dance, then the toasts, cake cutting and bouquet toss and our last dance… yeah I think we'd be missed."

Matt took her hand as the deejay turned the music down to speak. "...Please welcome to the dance floor, Mr. & Mrs. Matthew and Y/N Murdock!"

The doors to the event center opened and Matt and Y/N walked in, taking their place in the center of the dance floor.

Matt smiled at Y/N as the music for their first dance started. "May I have this dance, Mrs. Murdock?"

His smile grew wider at the uptick in Y/N's heartbeat. "Why, yes you may, Mr. Murdock," Y/N replied.

Matt pulled her close as they began to sway.

Matt wiped away a tear from Y/N's eye as the song came to an end, then pressed a gentle kiss to her lips. "Every single one, angel," he murmured. 

Y/N sniffled. "Me too, Matty."

"Come on, sweetheart, let's go eat."

They had decided on a catered buffet for their reception, so they were served their dinner then went to take their seats at the head table.

The deejay turned the music down once again. "Ladies and gentlemen, the best man would like to say a few words."

Matt turned towards Foggy as he stood.

Foggy cleared his throat. "Matt, when you first mentioned Y/N way back in law school I thought you had to have been making her up -- this perfect childhood friend who you had fallen in love with but never got the chance to tell that you loved her."

Matt took Y/N's hand and gave it a squeeze.

"Well," Foggy continued, "it took 16 years but I eventually found out she really did exist, and she's every bit as wonderful as you always described her."

"Aww, thanks, Fog," Y/N said.

Foggy picked up his glass of champagne. "I'd like to raise a glass to the newlyweds. Thank you for letting me be a part of your big day and I love you both -- mazel tov! "

"Cheers!" everyone echoed.

Karen gave a brief speech next, then Y/N said a few words. 

Finally, Matt stood.

"First, I'd like to thank everyone for being here to share in Y/N's and my big day," he began. "I know I can speak for us both when I say that we appreciate each and every one of you for being here to celebrate our wedding with us."

He turned to Foggy and Karen. "Foggy and Karen, we have been through hell and back together and I couldn't have asked for anyone better to stand by my & Y/N's sides as we pledged our lives to each other."

He turned back to Aunt Ruth, who sat at Y/N's other side. "Aunt Ruth, thank you for welcoming me to the family with open arms and for giving me your blessing to marry Y/N."

He smiled down at Y/N. "And finally, Y/N, my beautiful wife. I have loved you since before I even knew what love was and promise that I will show you every single day just how grateful I am that I get to spend the rest of my life with you. Thank you for loving me in return."

Everyone applauded and made "aww" sounds as Y/N stood and cupped Matt's face in her hands, pressing her lips to his. "You're determined to make me cry, aren't you?" she said.

Matt kissed her back. "Only happy tears, angel, I promise."

They sat back down until it was time to cut the cake and do the bouquet and garter toss.

Karen caught Y/N's bouquet, and if Matt purposely made sure that Foggy caught Y/N's garter so that he and Karen would be forced to dance with each other instead of around each other… well.

He just wanted his friends to be as happy as he was, that was all.

Finally the deejay announced the final dance of the evening.

Matt held Y/N close once again as the music played, then finally it was time for their big send-off.

Matt grinned as they got ready to leave. He had a surprise for Y/N and couldn't wait to give it to her.

Darrel Lucus at Daily Kos:

For years, John MacArthur has been one of the most respected pastors in the evangelical world. His media ministry, “Grace to You,” has been a stable of Christian radio and television for some time. But in recent years, it has been proven not just beyond reasonable doubt, but ALL doubt, that he is a golem with no soul, no heart, and no conscience. 

This is a man who held a full schedule of services at his San Fernando Valley megachurch, Grace Community Church, with no masks and no social distancing to speak of during the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a man who covered up a COVID outbreak even as Southern California’s hospitals were being stretched to their limit during the winter surge of 2020. This is a man who publicly shamed and bullied one of his parishoners for refusing to take back her abusive jerk of a husband—and then publicly supported said abusive jerk. But as I note at my Substack, it turns out MacArthur hit absolute bottom late last month while speaking at a conference at a daughter church near Fresno. He actually had the audacity to claim that mental illness was a hoax. If that wasn’t enough, he did so almost half a century after he and his church completely failed a man with suicidal tendencies.

On April 20, MacArthur was one of the featured speakers at the For the Valley Bible Conference at Grace Church of the Valley in Kingsburg, south of Fresno. He took part in a Q&A session on discernment with conference host Scott Ardavanis and two other conference speakers—Benny Hinn’s nephew, Costi Hinn, and Scott’s brother, Jonny. At around the 36-minute mark, MacArthur went into a tirade on mental illness. He’d recently read A Profession Without Reason by clinical psychologist Bruce Levine, and was intrigued by Levine’s claims that a number of psychologists and psychiatrists had realized they had been telling “noble lies” to society for a century. Supposedly, the biggest of these noble lies was the whole concept of mental illness.

He went in on PTSD in particular, dismissing it as a form of grief that you can’t “clinically define”—and attempts to do so only led to people being homeless. He slammed giving medication to kids with mental illness, saying it was “the most deadly thing ever unleashed on children.” He believes mental issues with kids can be fixed with proper parenting rather than meds, saying that meds keep kids from “navigating life in a socially acceptable way.”

Izzy is the Goddess of Helplessness and she’s actually nonverbal - ALMOST completely. it turns out if you are someone who is exceptionally helpless you might be able to hear her talk to you! The only person who’s ever had this pleasure within Canon was actually Chal shortly after her mother ate her arm off and she was wallowing in despair 🥺

He's not one to follow a series. However, he LOVES nature documentaries. He has a whole hard drive dedicated to just that. And B.ob R.oss. If you ever need a chill-out time, find Noah when he's off-duty. Trust me.

11. If we searched their name on Google, what would we find?

Aside from the articles and interviews about his highly successful career? Several social media accounts that he's terrible at updating regularly. However, his main account has turned into a Barnum fan account because he posts more updates about his dog than himself. However, the updates are even more sporadic thanks to being so far in space.

The alternate version of this where Dick’s allowed to be 9-10 for the circus is just SO much smoother and doesn’t require the October Dick birthday.

Still running with ~10 years between the Circus and LPoD.

Pop the Circus around Dick’s 10th birthday as 20 March, probably a little after, before Tim’s 19 July birthday. This means Tim is almost-3, my preferred Circus age for him, and their age gap is 7 years 4 months. I can cludge “almost 10 years” to be from the orphanage to just prior to LPoD. Dick debuts as Robin while 10. He then spends about 8 years as Robin plus training, probably finishing up sometime between May and October of the year he’s 18. “You’re Fired”/”I Quit!” happens after Dick’s finished school and looking to move to New York for Hudson and the Titans.

We then pick Jason up, at 13, some time after his 16 August birthday. As we have time for him to be a young 13, he then gets his 6 months of training and a year as Robin, to still die on 27 April 4 months shy of his 15th birthday. I will not shift on Jason being 14 and 8 months for his death, not 15, because if he’s 15, then that means that everything between Death in the Family and War Drums (that’s 1988 to 2004) happens in 2 years and 4 months, because we know the date of his 18th birthday, and that’s the start of War Drums. And I refuse to say that 16 years of comics only cover 2 years and 4 months, particularly when No Man’s Land has to take up a year of it, while simultaneously claiming 1984-1988 covers ~20 months. It makes no sense. In any case, Jason is with Bruce for somewhere between 15-20 months, and out as Robin for maybe a year. Dick gets to turn 20 prior to Jason’s death.

Jason dies 27 April. Dick’s 20, Jason’s 14, Tim’s 12. Bruce then starts going off the rails. Sometime after Tim’s birthday on 17 July, Tim goes and tracks down Dick to tell him he needs to return to being Robin, LPOD kicks off, Tim enters Robin training. If we shove this as close to Tim’s birthday as possible, he hilariously waited until his 13th birthday to go wandering. Maybe he couldn’t buy a train ticket on his own until then or something. (Also this makes the ‘what are you? 12?’ ‘I’m 13!’ exchange even funnier as Tim is Officially A Teen, He Just Had That Birthday! and being prickly about it) Tim then can have the traditional ‘6 months’ ish of training before debuting as Robin on 24 December.

Playing with the Dick-Jason-Tim age timeline again because playing with “can I fit Dick being 8 at the circus and Tim also being there” is enrichment for my brain.

Using Batman: Year 3 and A Lonely Place of Dying as the starting point this time, being that they are the ORIGIN of the timeline dilemma that nobody can quite square, and I have a solution to offer for the timeline up to LPoD (highly dependent on ‘if the pre-Crisis fact doesn’t fit, that’s because it’s pre-Crisis’ and ignoring future retcons. I’m building this from the original scaffold)

Dick is 8 at the circus. Tim is 3. We will establish this via Year 3 (“almost 10 years” since the Graysons died/the orphanage) and Tim’s canonical age in LPoD (13).

Given the fuzziness over when Tim actually turned 14, we’re going to run with Dick being close to his birthday when LPoD occurs. Using the 20 March birthday for Dick and the 19 July birthday for Tim, this gives us a 5 year, 4 month age gap and makes Tim about 3 ½ at the circus, which is a little older than I like him to be (I have so much more flexibility with dates if I can claim he’s 2, damn you Year 3 for using ‘almost’ rather than ‘approximately’), but we’ll live with it because I really need Dick to be almost 19 on the day Tim appears simply to try and cram as much pre-Crisis late-Robin and Nightwing history in as possible. This contradicts Dick being 20 prior to Jason’s death, but Dick can’t both be 20, have the circus 10 years ago, and be 8 years old for his parents’ death. However, squaring this with Janet Drake’s burial date of Christmas Eve is difficult, because Tim still being 13 at her funeral becomes impossible. Alternatively, if we use the 24 October birthday for Dick and still place Haly’s Circus and LPoD in the period before Dick’s birthday (maybe some time in September/October), we can come out of this with “about to turn 19” Dick and “13 and a bit” Tim, with a 5 year, 9 months gap between them, plus giving Tim a 3 month training period before he debuts as Robin on 24 December. In either case, choose whether Dick being born on the first of Northern Hemisphere Spring or Janet Drake being buried on Actual Christmas Eve is the more important fact in your heart to determine which option you use here.

Timeline markers:

Dick therefore does not debut as Robin until he is 9. He was Robin from 1940 to 1984, a period of 8, almost 9 years using ye olde 5 real years to 1 comics year rule. This actually matches fairly well with the date I want to give as when Dick stops being Robin – at some point when he’s 17. Yes, I have to give up the semester at Hudson University still happening while Dick is Robin not Nightwing, but that’s pre-Crisis. The Bruce and Dick fight where Bruce benches Dick, Dick storms out, and heads off to New York to be his own man (and changes his name to Nightwing) all happens at some point when Dick is ~17. Dick’s schooling is a bit of a black hole given his childhood and the contradictory birthdays (and the fact I’m not great on northern hemisphere school year dates and start dates). I THINK the October birthday is better for this in that we just have to pretend he was the youngest in the class, and can say Dick finished school still 17 and before he becomes Nightwing. March birthday I think if the fight happened while Dick was still 17 and at school, our lad was commuting from New York to school for the final few months (good thing his best friends include a speedster and a flyer, I guess). Or it happened when Dick was 18 and 3 months on approximately the exact day after Dick finished school, and the timeline suddenly gets VERY tight.

I like Dick being 17 when he becomes Nightwing if we can wrangle it for the simple fact that it gives a nice parallel for when Tim is 17 (and also loses the Robin title). Dick having gone through his big growing up moment before he entered legal adulthood makes the way the same mistake echoes down over the years more poignant (everyone has to grow up too young). I also would really like Dick to have finished his high school education before he becomes Nightwing simply because it makes a more coherent growing up narrative (and figuring out how Dick finished his education if he was living in New York is a headache we can then avoid).

In any case. Dick’s had his fight with Bruce. Call it June-July. Bruce, feeling lonely, decides the next sad teenager he meets who is trying to steal his tires is a great prospect to be the next Robin (son). Hello Jason. Jason is also 13. He is about to turn 14 the first moment possible. His birthday is apparently 16 August, which works really well for the fight going down right after Dick finishes school. Bruce makes Jason Robin. We are now on a hurried countdown. Jason turns 14. He was Robin from 1983-1988, which is right on 5 years, so approximately 1 comic year. Jason canonically dies on 27 April according to one picture of his tombstone. This would make him 14-nearly-15. This works great for October Birthday Dick and terrible for March Birthday Dick. If we have October Birthday Dick, Jason was around for ~10 months before he dies in April. If we have March Birthday Dick, Jason was around for anywhere between 7 months (Dick fired at 18 in June, Jason dies around January the next year) and a year (Dick fired before March still 17, Jason appears immediately after, and again dies around January/February the next year) while we ignore that April death date.

This works well on a meta level. One, there’s simply not that many Jason-as-Robin stories. Every time people stretch his period from Batmobile-tyres-to-death out beyond 20 months or so, you start hitting the point where you have more timeline than story to fill it, a problem seen practically nowhere else in comics. Jason has been cited as having 6 months of training before he went out on the streets. You can keep all of this if you want a very short period with Jason in the costume, you can call this comics time and shorten it if you’d prefer Jason to have longer in the costume. But Jason-as-Robin only lasting under a year lines up with everything about how we approximate the passage of time in comics. Secondly, Jason being Robin for only a short period matches the fact that he has very few interactions with Dick and the wider hero community. He has, what, ONE team up with the Titans? The one ski trip with Dick? Checking the Events timeline he had COIE (which he doesn’t remember), plus Legends and Millennium, for 3 Events during his tenure. He appears on page for all of these, but not in a manner where he’s interacting with heroes outside Gotham in any way he’d remember. He’s pretty isolated, but also there really isn’t any TIME to give him wider connections.

Also during this period, the majority of the NTT stuff prior to LPoD occurs, and Dick hypothetically does his single semester at university before dropping out (probably due to the amount of stuff going on in his life making studying hard). He may even have dropped out of university DUE to the drama surrounding all of this depending on which birthday timeline you run with. Tim is a lil bean at boarding school.

In any case, Jason Todd died. He wasn’t even 15 yet. It’s very tragic. Bruce immediately starts going off the rails with grief. October Birthday Dick (seriously, this just suits the timeframe here so much better) then gives us anywhere between 3-6 months of Bruce grieving and getting steadily more unstable before 13 year old Tim Drake decides Something Must Be Done, We Need A Robin. He then heads off to find Dick Grayson at any point between July and October, make this gap however long-short you want. March Birthday Dick we probably cram death-until-realisation into under 2 months, but we’re working with even more of a sliding scale given it’s just harder to anchor known stuff in this timeline.

Ta da!

Conclusions:

if I want this to work I am gonna run with the 24 October birthday for Dick, just because it makes pinning dates down easier. Sorry, 20 March birthday fans.

Ages: Tim is either 5 years, 4 months or 5 years, 8 months younger than Dick. Tim is 23 months younger than Jason. Jason is either 3 years, 3 months or 3 years, 7 months younger than Dick.

Cass is 2 years, 6 months older than Tim. She is 5 months older than Jason. She is either 2 years, 10 months or 3 years, 2 months younger than Dick.

Steph is about a year older than Tim and about a year younger than Cass.

Damian, who is extremely indirectly affected by anything in this timeline, is 6-7 years younger than Tim and 12 years younger than Dick. He was definitely conceived while Dick was Robin.

Incidentally: Tim figuring out Dick is Robin happens when he is 9. With this timeline, Dick was 14-15 when Tim worked that out. Tim therefore spent at LEAST two years fanboying Dick!Robin, and then saw Jason!Robin for at most a year, realistically closer to 6 months. “Jason was my Robin” doesn’t exist

(Also tragically for me, The ‘Tim is 3’ reading of the circus means that Tim was definitely born prior to Bruce’s return to Gotham. There’s this lovely little wrinkle that if you use a timeline where he’s 2 at the circus, he was probably born right around when Bruce debuted at Batman, which is just a sweet little note for a character so tied to other people’s origin stories)

(Seriously though if you allow Dick be 10 when he is orphaned, it lets him be Robin until 18-19, he can turn 20 before Jason’s death, frees up so much timeline kludging around the Jason period, even if it does create a bigger age gap between Dick and Tim)

Touya has a bit of a temper but chooses to use it as snark rather than be like his sperm donor

Touya is the one who comes up with the idea of Tenko, Izumi and himself making their own agency (which Monoma and Shinsou are welcome too but the three originals are the bosses)

I’ve been quiet over here, largely because I don’t know what to write and only writing about the good stuff seems insincere. I’ve been struggling, friends. I finally called to make an appointment with my OBGYN office to discuss PPD, because after questioning for months and months if this was bad enough to be considered PPD, I’m throwing my hands up in the air and saying whether it is or it’s not, I need some support and some help. They were able to get me in for an appointment tomorrow. So, I’m really nervous about it, but I’m hoping this is the first step in a better direction.

What a crazy year my body has had so far, huh?

Photo 1: 1/4/21, ~240lbs (12 days pre-delivery)

Photo 2: 1/27/21, 216lbs (11 days post-delivery)

Photo 3: 4/16/21, 206lbs (3 months post-delivery)

Looking at the third photo that I took today, I almost don’t even recognize myself. The difference between the last two photos is only 10 pounds and yet I see such a difference. Granted, the angle is different, but still.. I was still so swollen from giving birth in the second photo.

If anything, putting this together has given me major motivation to keep going. This month I’ve gained and lost the same few pounds, and I’m still at the same weight as I was on April 1st. That aside, I’m feeling rejuvenated — like hey, I really have made some strides toward being healthier and more fit — and I definitely wanna keep that going.

What a whirlwind of craziness over here lately! Firstly, I’m sharing here because it’s IMPOSSIBLE to “journal” or talk about what’s going on with me lately here without mentioning that.. yep.. I’m pregnant! Again. 😁

I had my confirmation ultrasound yesterday and it turns out that I’m 8w5d along already — still super early, but everything measured great and the baby’s heart beat was nice and strong. Due date is set for June 18, which is extra fun, because that’s four days after my birthday!

So far, IRL, only my parents, my mother-in-law and @operationkay10 know, and @nycnomad too of course, and we’re gonna keep it that way until I hit the 12-week mark, I think. At that point it’ll be December, so we’re thinking of sharing the news with the rest of family and friends over the Christmas holiday.

I’m SO exhausted basically all the time — I wake up tired most days — and the morning sickness with this one is more significant than with pep. I got so lucky with not having much morning sickness with him at all. Because of the differences I’m noticing, I’m kinda (really) hoping this one’s a girl. More realistically, because it’s so early, I’m just taking it one day and one week at a time.

What else is going on? Right now in our house, everyone is sick. Pep has had congestion and a runny nose for the past two days - trouble sleeping big time. Luckily today he seems to be doing a bit better, just in time for B and I to catch it. For us it seems to be more of a cough and sore throat kinda thing. Fingers crossed this passes very soon. Either way, I’m so grateful that I have off today for Veterans Day so we can take it easy and take turns napping in shifts. 😅

Late Stage Swiftgron Part 1

Update from November 2021 - I really don’t believe much of this is meaningful at all.  I don’t think they’re sitting around referencing one another on social media or anything but some of Dianna’s interactions with Karlie are interesting Dianna shows up explicitly in Taylor’s life a couple more times so I’m leaving these sections here.;

From here on out everything but the 2014 AMAs and Dianna’s somewhat shocking appearance at Taylor’s 2019 SNL performance are just odd social media shenanigans (or subtweets) between the two, and Taylor appearing to release at least one more song about Dianna (Babe in 2018) (and let’s be honest you can make a strong argument for The 1 being about Dianna as well other post 1989 songs.)

Some of this might be complete crack or coincidence but as you all know I want this to be the most thorough Swiftgron document possible.  

If anything it proves they both certainly still have similar interests and they really do seem to be in touch.

There are some interactions claimed by others to be Swiftgron related that I’m not going to include because they’re just a bit too reachy for me (though I completely support the theorizing!) but in general, if I personally can see the hint of a Swiftgron connection, I’m going to include it here. Draw your own conclusions and take everything, particularly the alleged subtweets/social media shenanigans, with a grain of salt.

And yes there’s tons of Kaylor and other Gaylor/Gaygron content that will be left out of this segment because this masterpost is focused on Swiftgron.  Someday it would be cool to make a giant masterpost/timeline that documents all of it, but for now it’s just going to be Swiftgron stuff. August 26, 2014 - Dianna tweets, and then deletes “Withdrawals, clearly…we had fun.” 

There’s no screen shot of this tweet but some retweets/responses of it remain:

If Dianna is indeed referencing the song Clean (in which their relationship is compared to an addiction hence, “withdrawals” from it) then Taylor would have had to give her advanced knowledge of the song since 1989 did not come out until October 2014.

Taylor did claim she ran 1989 by the muse that inspired it and they were both in LA in late August 2014. Maybe this is when.

November 1, 2014 - Taylor posts about Clean

November 19, 2014 - The 2014 AMAs Kaylorgron Explosion Extravaganza:

Taylor, Karlie, and Dianna are at the event.  Taylor and Karlie are clearly on a date and Dianna is there to present Sam Smith’s performance of I’m not the only one.  Dianna seems a bit out of her element/gloomy when interviewed on the red carpet and Taylor flexes Karlie hard, dancing with her throughout the night and even sitting on her lap during an interview.

December 28, 2014 - The writer for the tv show The Originals, Carina Mackenzie, tweeted that 1989 was about Dianna:

It’s of course notable that someone in the industry is “confirming” Swiftgron on main (particularly before gaylor went mainstream with Kaylor being so obvious in 2015/2016) however what’s even more interesting and notable about this tweet is that an actor named Michael Trevino was on the show The Originals and he dated Jenna Ushkowitz from 2011-2014.

Not only that but Michael was at Dianna’s 26th birthday when Taylor was in attendance as well.

It’s possible that Michael witnessed Swiftgron in real life and spilled a bit to the writer of the TV show he was on.

January 5, 2015 - Taylor likes a Swiftgron related post on Tumblr of Dianna saying she’d go on the road with Taylor and carry her bags at the Giffoni Film Festival in 2012:

February 13, 2015 - The Kaylor “Best Friends” on a road trip Vogue Spread comes out.  You’re probably familiar with it but if you aren’t google it.  It’s incredibly romantic and pda filled.

The Style music video is released on this day as well.

We don’t have to go through the whole video but one egg I just have to note is the cave pictured in the MV is in Morocco the same country Dianna seemed to flee to after Swiftgron was outed:

February 14, 2015 - Dianna tweets 143 remember those days (for some reason it has not been deleted) seemingly in response to the Kaylor vogue shoot:

143 is a code that means “I love you” that originated from Mister Rogers.  Both Taylor and Dianna have publicly shown that they are fans of his.  Taylor has even made certain songs 3 minutes and 41 seconds long seemingly referring to this number and wore a Mister Rogers pin on a jacket for a photoshoot once.

Here’s a bit more in depth analysis on the significance of the 143 post.

This tweet is how we know that it is 100% in Dianna’s character to occasionally subtweet Taylor and why a lot of this social media analysis has been done.  

February 16, 2015 - Just two days later Dianna attends a fashion show in which Karlie walks and is noted to “have kept a smirk on her face” during.  Dianna doesn’t clap at the end of the show and looks miserable in photos of the event:

February 17, 2015 - Taylor releases Wonderland

I’m going to pause here and discuss the song Wonderland for a brief moment because it is some of the most incredibly airtight evidence for Swiftgron available.

Dianna’s favorite book of all time is Alice in Wonderland.  She brought it up in interviews all the time, tweeted about it, auctioned off a signed copy of it for charity, her private Tumblr and instagram account are called whosirmesir which is a reference to it, her private Tumblr is filled with reblogs about Alice, and her public Tumblr was called fell down the rabbit hole.

So the fact that Taylor writes an entire song describing a relationship through the lens of and packing full of references to Alice in Wonderland is incredibly interesting.

Let’s take a look at some of these lyrics:

Flashing lights and we, took a wrong turn and we Fell down the rabbit hole (literally Dianna’s tumblr name and url)

Didn't you flash your green eyes at me (Dianna is famous for her beautiful almost hypnotic green eyes and yes they are green)

Haven't you heard what becomes of curious minds (queer coded)

Too in love to think straight (queer coded)

But there were strangers watching And whispers turned to talking And talking turned to screams (seems to reference when they were outed) You searched the world for something else (Dianna very publicly went travelling around the world right after April 2013 when they seem to break up)

Taylor literally put Dianna’s Tumblr URL in the song.  Frankly I’m kind of shocked she released this song at all it is so obviously and clearly about Dianna.  Truly a Swiftgron anthem!

March 8, 2015 - Taylor posts Flamingos for her dad’s birthday:

The caption was “Happy Birthday, Dad. Thanks for all the unconditional love, sarcastic comments, and interesting Christmas presents.”

The caption was “This is 29. Spoiled rotten. Funny enough, at work they were painting the hallways white and the roses (hallway doors) red, then I actually went to Wonderland (@AliceUnderLdn) and came home to a surprise flamingo. Here we go. Another year around the sun…feeling lucky and loved and loved and lucky.”

Taylor also gave Emily, another rumored ex, a flamingo bandana for her birthday.  i also think it’s odd that Dianna mentions Wonderland specifically in the post.

January 15, 2016 - Dianna’s engagement to Winston is announced and Kaylors notice Taylor is liking sad posts on Tumblr including several posts related to Clean:

November 7, 2016 - Lorde’s birthday party where Kaylor is together in public for the last time for 20 months.

January 5, 2017 - Claire (who is still very close with Taylor) comments on one of Dianna’s Instagram posts):

March 2, 2017 - Dianna posts her James Dean inStyle UK photo to Instagram:

This is actually the second time she has posted this as a throwback photo.  She also posted it on February 4, 2016 with simply the caption “TBT” and did not include the “rebel without a clue” bit which is a reference to James Dean (Rebel Without a Cause). She’s never posted the same TBT photo twice before or after this (as of the writing of this post in October 2020).

It I may be permitted to go real far out on a limb here it’s almost as if she wanted people to connect that photo of her in the UK InStyle magazine to James Dean.  James Dean is of course the way Taylor describes her lover in the song Style.  

At any rate it’s very odd that it’s the only photo she’s posted twice whether it’s related to Taylor or not.

April 25, 2017 - Fans notice Dianna is having her script tattoo removed:

This is significant because a part of the tattoo was dedicated to Alice in Wonderland - it said “We’re all mad here” 

Tattoo removal is a years long process:

So it’s possible she started getting it removed around the time that Wonderland came out.

It’s also possible part of the tattoo was dedicated to Lea (the part that said “here I am”) so this whole removal situation is very interesting.

In 2019 she was still getting it removed and commented this at a Cafe Carlyle session:

"i was like i don't know i wanna explain all my tattoos or the one that i'm getting removed on my side...you know you're like...WHATEVER we're stopping we're moving on"

February 13, 2018 - Dianna attends the Carolina Herrera fashion show, so does Karlie. Dianna is introduced to Karlie by Derek Blasberg and very audibly calls Karlie “gorgeoouusss” as they meet.

The relationship between A-list muse and lauded designer is nothing new. But few have been as serendipitous that of Harry Styles and Alessandro Michele: the pop star’s solo career coincided neatly with the designer hitting his stride as the game-changing creative director of Gucci. Theirs is a mutually beneficial partnership that has elevated the former to new echelons of style, while the latter has become something of an icon to an unexpected fandom.

Unlike the large-scale productions of recent show seasons, Michele first presented his vision for Gucci with a quietly confident collection on 19 January 2015 — reportedly pulled together in just five turbo-charged days. The collection had all the signifiers of the retro-inspired aesthetic that has since become Michele’s beat, introducing the fur-lined loafers, pussy-bow blouses and florals that still form the backbone of his work today. A 20-year-old Harry, meanwhile, was still a long-haired One Direction member set to embark on the band’s biggest ever — and as it turned out last— tour. Just as One Direction’s days were winding down, Michele was picking up speed. Gucci reported a five per cent rise in sales in the last three months of 2015, amounting to 1.1 billion Euro in the final quarter.

Stylist Harry Lambert, who had been working with Harry for a few years by then, decided it was time for the boy-bander to try something new. A floral suit – that floral suit – from Michele’s spring/summer 2016 collection would be just the ’fit for the American Music Awards in November 2015, they decided.

Looking back it was a “very bold move,” Lambert admits. Styles was the first to take one of Michele’s full menswear looks from the Gucci catwalk and wear it on the red carpet. “It was very exciting to see everyone’s responses, but also how great he looked in it,’’ Lambert told Miss Vogueof what he still views as a turning point in his client’s fashion journey. This winning suit encouraged Styles and Lambert to pull more Gucci, and Harry gave his final performance as a member of One Direction wearing a suit in the retro petal print that defined Michele’s early collections.

In fact, Gucci was just about the only thing that the 1D alum carried over to his solo career. Even his shoulder-length curls were shorn. The music videos that accompanied Styles’s eponymous number one album, released in April 2017, all incorporated Gucci, as did his appearances on the promo trail. A navy tailored coat floats through the sky in the video for “Sign Of The Times”, and he wears floral tailoring in the clip for “Kiwi”. When the time came for Harry to take his record on the road, he wore countless bespoke Gucci suits on stage. Most were floral brocade with flared trousers, and paired with pussy-bow shirting.

By June 2018, the relationship had been formalised. Styles was revealed – in a series of photos taken by Glen Luchford in the suitably English setting of a chip shop – as the face of Gucci’s tailoring campaign. Two more campaigns followed, in which Styles models the most exuberant of Michele’s creations without ever sacrificing his schoolboy cheekiness, not even with a lamb slung around his shoulders. The campaigns, two by Luchford, a third by Harmony Karine, helped to usher in a new dawn in menswear advertising.

A year later Harry was unveiled as part of a diverse line-up in the campaign for Gucci’s Mèmoire D’une Odeur — the near century-old house’s first gender-neutral scent. Yes, he was the main event, but Styles shared the spotlight with other creatives in what became an unavoidable campaign, covering buildings, beauty counters, column inches and iPhone wallpapers across the globe. Styles has since quipped that he wears it to bed,making a bottle a necessary purchase for even half-dedicated Harry fans.

That Harry’s work with Gucci has proved so popular with his dedicated fanbase is a key component in the success of their collaborations. Though — and again, this is likely owing to Harry’s own allegiances — his followers do tend to have a keen interest in fashion compared to other fandoms, it’s down to their idol that Harries know the artistic director by his first name alone. “It is really exciting for us fans to see another facet of Harry as a creative individual, and his Gucci partnership cultivates that and gives us an even more in-depth perspective of who he is,” Nadhila, a 26-year-old fan in Indonesia told Miss Vogue.

Nadhila, who has been a part of the team behind the Twitter account @HSNewsUpdate since 2011, believes that the fluid nature of Michele’s vision has contributed to the interest in Harry’s Gucci looks. “There are no boundaries on what he might come up with, so fans are always excited to see what look [Harry] might step out in next,” she says. Styles’s efforts to be a fan-focused, ethical pop star – his motto is “treat people with kindness” – are relevant, too. “He has inspired us to be bold, unique and unafraid to experiment when it comes to fashion,” she adds. “He has shown us that there is no such thing as too feminine or too masculine, we can be both and we can be ourselves.”

Another of Harry’s biggest fan accounts, @TheHarryNews, is run by four women in their mid-twenties: Annie, Océane, Lena and Rachel. “You can really see the confidence he’s gotten from working with Gucci,” they share collectively over email. “[He’s] taking more risks and letting more of himself show… In a lot of ways we’ve seen Harry really come into his own. I think that really resonates with people, especially his fans, who get tiny pieces of [who he really is] through fashion.”

Two fans who have an almost encyclopedic knowledge of this fashion partnership are the transatlantic duo behind @HSFashionArchive. Since April 2016, London-based Lu and Washington DC-based Alex have documented every look worn by Harry in meticulous detail, all to act as “a resource for fans”. Its posts lets his followers know how they might go about procuring these items, but also sheds light on key house codes – thus enabling fans to quickly identify which of Harry’s looks are Gucci, and which aren’t. “We have noticed that fans buy the Gucci pieces that Harry has worn,” 29-year-old Alex explained. “Though some pieces are pricey, we’ve seen people buy the loafers, boots, and bags that Harry has sported over the years. Lots of our followers bought the £34 Gucci lipsticks he wore in Beauty Papers.”

The pair believes that the relationship works because Gucci is able to offer Harry such a broad spectrum of looks to choose from. “Gucci’s looks range from wearable to outrageous, so Harry’s continued partnership with Gucci guarantees both attainable style and flashy moments. There’s nothing like seeing him in a wild new outfit that we couldn’t have anticipated.” And though one might assume the scene-stealing suits are most popular with fans, according to Nadhila, they like his low-key looks best, given that “they show a more casual and intimate look into who he is as a ‘normal’ person”.

Of course, there is a notable exception: the 2019 Met Gala. For the opening evening of the “Camp: Notes On Fashion” exhibition Michele and Harry acted as co-hosts, and arrived on the pink carpet together. “After such a colourful tour wardrobe it was nice to do something a little unexpected,” Lambert told Miss Vogue of the black blouse Styles wore. “[It was about] taking traditionally feminine elements like the frills, heeled boots, sheer fabric and the pearl earring, but then rephrasing them as masculine pieces set against the high-waisted tailored trousers and his tattoos. Camp, but still Harry.” Lambert explained at the time: “We met up earlier this year to share mood boards with the Gucci team. We had pages of printed references all on the table from Alessandro, myself and Harry, then we edited them down.” Today, the @HSFashionArchive duo agree the night “was a massive deal amongst fans”.

There was the now pearl earring-wearing fashion darling of the music world, standing alongside the closest thing to a rockstar the fashion industry has at present. “I love dressing up and he loves dressing up,” Michele told The Face in 2019. “The moment I met him, I immediately understood there was something strong around him. I realised he was much more than a young singer. He was a young man, dressed in a thoughtful way, with uncombed hair and a beautiful voice. I thought he gathered within himself the feminine and the masculine.”

Since the Met, the relationship has continued to go from strength to strength. Styles wore a custom look on the cover of his second record, Fine Line, shot by Tim Walker, and Michele and Styles collaborated on a T-shirt to coincide with it, with a percentage of the sales going to the Global Fund For Women. Gucci’s high-waisted trousers, cropped blazers and dazzling shirting now takes up even more space in Styles’s wardrobe, and bring as much attention to the star as his sophomore record’s commercial and critical success.

Sightings of Styles in Gucci have become a source of comfort for fans in a turbulent 2020. From his Mary-Janes at the Brits to his oversized turquoise blazer and crochet gloves in the “Golden” video, by way of outré sunglasses and floral sunglasses in the clip for “Watermelon Sugar”, Harry’s recent sartorial choices have managed to be pleasingly familiar, while simultaneously keeping his followers on their toes.

A bit like the chicken and the egg conundrum, the question remains: is Harry very Gucci, or is Gucci very Harry? The verdict is out. But without each other, both might be missing a little something.
