Papa 🐉 teaching his baby words. They're in the kitchen and he's showing him different kinds of condiments.

🐉: "Salt."

🐉🍼: "Solt."

🐉: "Your mother's accent. Not bad. Pepper."

🐉🍼: "Peppa."

🐉: "Isn't that a cartoon character? But you're not allowed to watch that, are you? Must be another accent you picked up somewhere... Well. Mustard."

🐉🍼: "Bastard."

🐉: "What?"

🐉🍼: "Bastard."

🐉🍼: "Bas. Tard."

He stares at his son. Is the boy insulting him? That can't be, right? He shouldn't yet know the concept of insulting someone at this age, much less insulting his father.

🐉: "Child. Princes do not--"

He remembers an old schoolmate and shakes his head.

🐉: "Proper princes do not curse."

The boy tilts his head, as if conveying that he doesn't understand. Then, he didn't know that's an insult.

Did he learn this somewhere else? The television? But all his shows are vetted to be good for children, and only for a few minutes a day. Then how in the world--

🐊: "SILVER! YOU DISCOMBOBULATED BASTARD, WAKE UP!! WE'RE GOING TO BE LATE!!!"

🐉, gently, to his son: "Be a good boy and wait here for a bit, alright?"

He had to soundproof the kitchen upon exiting it, just so his baby wouldn't be able to hear what he had to say to his tactless knight.

I just did some math and, if Cas is as old as the earth, his 12 years with Dean is equivalent to like 0.08 seconds in a human lifespan. That’s less than 1/10th of a second, shorter than the blink of an eye. He knew Dean for such a short amount of time compared to his entire existence and it was enough to fundamentally change everything about Cas and how he sees the world. That’s absolutely insane to me.
