the john and gale in sympathy for the devil btw. the hosts of 100 haunts. they fuck twice a day and think that nobody knows it. they are so in love and they don’t know it. john has tried to quit cigarettes 5 times and gale has to be reminded that coffee isn’t food. people ship them online. the first episode they filmed was done on a shoestring budget and posted on youtube. john’s least favourite investigation was the tower of london, not bc either of them believe in ghosts but because there’s not one good coffee shop within a twenty minute walk. gale’s favourite was the rms queen mary because he’s a history nerd. john’s gonna propose one halloween in the future despite the fact gale’s so sick w flu he thinks he might actually be seeing ghosts, john just thinks it would be really funny to do it then. so he does. but that’s way after filming their last season. like at least a month.

I didn’t think my financial situation would cut people so deep. I am talking like worst case scenario that I would have to spend all the money I have. It wouldn’t all be spent on me, for example my sister will be attending a university so I would help her out too.
I live pretty shoestring right now, so I can be pretty frugal. My mom only sends me like 2500 every two weeks. Between rent, food, and some moderate travel it doesn’t last too long. I’ve basically cut back most of my international travel. My dad does like accounting and wealth management, I did it for a few months after college before I quit. Good money but why bother if I had my own. I wanted to open bakery, that didn’t work. Still trying to find a career that fits me. I will say that I have definitely learned a lot from that experience and have matured. I’m glad my parents aren’t doing the same thing with my younger brother and sister. I was young and dumb. No thought for tomorrow.
I would take the wealth management career in a heartbeat omg you have to recommend me 🙏

This is really misleading
Trump’s proposed policy affects federally qualified health centers, which are often severely underfunded and already doing their best to provide medication for free to anyone who can’t afford it. They also have access to a federal discount program that allows them to get medications as cheap as $0.01. This has historically been a way for the health centers to augment their budgets because they can bill the insurance and get reimbursed at a higher rate. I imagine if you have cash pay patients who can afford $20 a month for insulin that would also help to offset the patients who really cannot pay anything for their more expensive medications.
Essentially what Trump did was he looked at places that already serve the very poor and try to provide free or deeply discounted medication to people who need it, and he said “hey, if you don’t do that 100% of the time with these two medications, I’ll take away your funding.”
And then he turned around to the public and said “look what a great job I’m doing addressing insulin and epi-pen prices”
I’m not an expert on this so I can’t say what the true implications of Trump’s policy would be. But my gut feeling is that anything that threatens to defund critical healthcare access is not really as good as it sounds in the headline.
Media for 4 years: OMG! Trump is literally killing poor people with diabetes!

My friend @rawanshihada11 is raising funds so she and her family can evacuate Gaza. They've been displaced 6 times since their home was destroyed last year, and are currently living in Zawayda with little access to essentials like food + water. The danger increases every day. That one post about great domestic policy and HORRIFIC foreign policy just does not stop being true
Domestic Policy Win: The American Museum of Natural History in NYC is closing down two entire exhibits of Native American belongings in order to comply with a federal order that requires museums to obtain the consent of indigenous nations in order to display artifacts of native origin. The linked ProPublica article specifies that the exhibits in question are the Eastern Woodlands and Great Plains Halls. To quote:
The new federal regulations, which went into effect this month, prohibit the display of items subject to NAGPRA without tribal consent and ban all research done without tribal consent. In addition, the regulations closed a loophole that had allowed museums such as the American Museum of Natural History to keep ancestral remains and burial items by claiming that they are “culturally unidentifiable” — meaning in their view they could not be connected to present-day Indigenous communities based on available evidence — and therefore could not readily be returned to tribes.
Foreign Policy Fail: The United States, the UK, and several other nations, in response to claims that several members of UNRWA were involved in the Oct. 7th attacks, have cut funding to the relief agency in question. The Al Jazeera article profiles the Palestinian response, and also specifies that this funding was pulled after the UNRWA launched an investigation in response to Israel's allegations that 12 members of the relief agency were involved.
Australia, Canada, Italy and the United States said they would halt funding to the agency, while European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said the 27-member bloc would “assess further steps and draw lessons based on the result of the full and comprehensive investigation”. Germany, Finland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom then also joined the list of countries pausing financial aid to the UN agency, whose facilities where displaced Palestinians sought shelter have been repeatedly attacked in Israeli air raids. Ireland and Norway, however, expressed continued support for UNRWA, saying the agency does crucial work to help Palestinians displaced and in desperate need of assistance in Gaza. - Al Jazeera
"One million displaced people are currently taking refuge in and around UNRWA buildings. They are the ones who will suffer as a result of this decision," said Mr Gunness, adding: "The curtailing of UNRWA services will also destabilise the region at a time when Western governments are trying to contain a regional conflagration." [...] The US, Germany and the EU are among some of UNRWA's biggest donors. - BBC
Unfortunately, the WSJ article is paywalled, so I can't access the full thing for a quote.
Anyway. Call your reps. I'm not even talking to just the Americans this time, call your fucking reps. If they aren't donating to UNRWA, then make them do something. Is the organization possibly a security risk, and the concerns legitimate? Maybe! But you cannot cut the funding that is keeping 2.3mill people alive on an already shoestring budget and not immediately put a backup security net in place.
Until then, pick a charity with a good rating, donate and signal boost it, and politely harass your politicians.
Politely as in "don't shout at or cuss out the staffers that man the phone lines," because they are not your reps, but also because your number is going to get blocked and then you won't be able to pressure them in the future. Do be firm, though.
I'm personally picking the PCRF this time, since one of the three remaining hospitals in south Gaza has been evacuated and shut down, and the evacuees reportedly include women who just got C-sections, which means the evacuees also include newborns, and medical care is in high demand. They're also currently focused on providing clean drinking water to the people of Palestine. That said, so is food, and shelter, and winter clothing. Pick a need, find a charity, and toss them some money.

i think when ed’s feeling his will to live flag a little he might lie in bed and think of foods he hasn’t had in a while so he can make plans to make or obtain them. parmesan shoestring fries from that one bar. tuna sushi. gooey cinnamon bun with icing. pizza bagel. smoothie bowl. silken tofu. and then he gets out of bed and neglects to make or obtain any of those things bc well its not like theyre. necessary. and then stede is lying next to him one night and asks what he’s thinking about and he says ohh death and bananas foster. and stede is like Together??? and ed’s like no im just weighing my options here. and stede is like well if i get a vote i’d prefer the bananas foster. and ed is like well then maybe i’ll also pick the bananas foster. and the next day they go get the ingredients for a bananas foster

Just wanted to say I love your fma 2003 posts. While I do think the original story is more cohesive and stuff, I think that the stuff they did with the 03 show is really interesting and provides a lot of cool angles on the character. It's a completely different story after a certain point with its own merit, and I think that it gives a lot of development to the characters in fascinating ways. I feel like seeing it added depth to my appreciation of the story. There's juicy bits in there that I wish were in the original and I'm just glad they were explored and that I'm not the only one who loves it. :))
sorry i took so late to respond lol
i think the og IS a lot more cohesive and planned out, and more consistent in quality! it's just that i don't think it's much to write home about either. it's a very solid fun shounen and as long as you don't think too deep about its implications, it's definitely a lot better written than 90% of mainstream shounen. and i can see the appeal in that, i genuinely do. i don't think 03 is to everyone's taste, even outside of people for whom og fma is comfort food, for whom even a slight deviation feels Wrong because that's their emotional support anime or whatever. like, i'm a fucking dbz fan always and forever you know? i don't have room to say "why do people enjoy mangahood better, it's so much less mature than 03" bc i still get pumped and emo from super saiyan transformations. i do wish these fans at least would understand WHY one might have frustrations with the themes of the story and what it does with very serious subjects lol
i do think that 03 is its own story but i don't think it's its own story "from a certain point". yes the early anime follows a lot of the manga's story, albeit rearranging it differently. but i'd argue that it's different in essence from the very start. its tone it starkly different from the manga, which is and remains a Cool Mystery Action Shounen. fma 03 from its very first episode leans more into brooding and psychological horror territory, even outside of the extra gore. even the subtle changes it makes early in the story aren't just to change/"improve" or adapt the manga's story, but to set up what they do when 03 REALLY departs from the manga's storyline. ed and al's characters are, i'd argue, leagues away from their og counterparts by ep 10--the flashback and making them go through all that trauma at age 12 really sets up that 15 year old ed isn't a confident shitlord like he is in the og, but a deeply insecure and guilt ridden teenager forced to grow up too fast and hiding his insecurities behind a mask of confidence. al is still kind and polite, but also a lot more ruthless and even more dependent on his brother than the og one is--the sensory deprivation and dysmorphia from the armour is cutting him off from other humans than his brother, and a lot of his own doubts and anguish at his situation begin eating at him to the point that when barry throws out the "you're an artificial person" accusation, al's brain immediately latches onto it because he's been wondering if he's even human for years.
i do think 03 has pits and valleys in terms of quality--but honestly i'm fine with it (bar a few genuinely infuriating decisions such as the transmisogynist serial killer trope in ep 8), it's a 2000s anime that was insanely ambitious and butting against the author and funding, some episodes visibly have a shoestring budget and while it remains thematically consistent you can very clearly see moments/places where the production committe threw in "hey uhhhhhh put in more kimblee he's popular" or "we're not giving you more episodes sorry. wrap it all up in three". do i wish a more consistent version of the show existed, meticulously planned out and with all the time and money in the world they needed existed? yes. would that version have been perfect? not necessarily tbh!
but really, 03 has a number of strong decisions and genuinely genius twists on the og that make it very hard for me to come back to the fma manga without feeling deeply underwhelmed. i like greedling so, so much--i just don't like him enough to not feel really bitter about how lust is treated in the manga. i genuinely love the scene where ed swears he'll get al's body's back at the gate, 10/10 shounen scene--but also, there's the scene ed happily tells al that after digging up their mom's body it turns out the transmutation they did had nothing to do with their mom, and every time i'm like "this is so stupid and i wish they'd kept the failed transmutation homonculi". the absolute heights of fma as a manga never ever manage to hit nearly as strongly to me as 03's does, because og fma will always feel just..... lacking in ambition and in depth, where imo in some aspects fma 03 still hasn't been outdone. where can i find something like the 03's homonculi? how many narratives are there that celebrate a character like scar instead of playing the trope of the Well Meaning Extremist Who Kicks A Puppy? this is a real question btw send them to me immediately i need them.
