guys. guys i rushed this one im ngl,, my tablet was soooo close to death while drawing this, BUT!!! thata okay bc i still like it <3

the idea behind this was (aside from the characters placements in the story) was that even when ed and al are isolated in the north, they arent alone because they still have each other; however when winry is in rush valley, she feels alone and excluded despite being surrounded by people (who love her, might i add).

Speaking of nameless background characters that I get briefly but wildly obsessed with when I rewatch Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood every year, there's also this bank employee that has maybe a minute of screentime:

Honestly it's pretty wild that Ed was part of the military for 2 years without learning much about the genocide. It speaks to his privilege as a member of an ethnic group that can easily be mistaken for a white Amestrian, his laser focus on his personal goals at the beginning of the story, and the fact that since he was already sacrifice material the higher ups let him do whatever he wanted. This kid was not reading dossiers or sitting through briefings. He treats the military as his own personal piggy bank and that's valid of him, but given how bizarre the whole situation is, it's reasonable that Scar saw this famous alchemical prodigy and interpreted him as a potential threat. He joined up, which means he must be willing to do the job, right? I don't support exploding children's faces but I understand why Scar would look at him and see a bomb ready to go off.

The shared idea of "What if Olivier saw Lan Fan and knew she had to introduce her to Buccaneer" was such a fun comic to create!!

Aquafrost sketched and lined (both Olivier and Lan fan) traditionally and I coloured (also sketched and lined Buccaneer) it digitally!! It was such a fun way to include both digital and traditional art!!!
