Henry’s office is on the twelfth floor of a skyscraper in Canary Wharf. I always find it difficult to recommend writers as there are so many great writer past and present in the fandom. Plus so many klaine stories have a bit of angst in them.

We do have our angst and blangst tag. So many great stories.

I'd also recommend my other admin Lynne's favorite fics: there's all sorts of fics on there but may are angsty fics.

David is a world famous contemporary artist who has become a recluse. Patrick is an art critic that interviews him. 

This gorgeous piece of writing has a astonishing amount of depth for having a word count of just 10k. I love it for so many reasons. It’s deeply achy. You’ll feel for David in your bones. Patrick as an art critic is soothing in his manner and his intelligent questioning. It’s art. It’s artists. It’s the meaning and motivation behind artistry. And laced through that is their developing relationship. I swoon every time.

first things first thank you for all your kind words about this story, I appreciate it so much and I appreciate you giving me the chance to ramble on about it now too💚💚💚

SECOND THINGS SECOND.

this is a multilayered answer and apologies in advance for that, but I think what Eddie experiences in those moments versus what's actually happening are two different things so.

From Eddie's perspective, it is one hundred percent just memory and flashbacks and this extra thing that makes him feel like he's losing his mind in the immediate aftermath. There is zero question to him that it's not actually real and he never once questions it because he is so entrenched in his own dissociation from his self, which is also the only reason none of the red flags that a more level-headed Eddie might have picked up on fly under the radar for so long.

He is actively trying to separate himself from his body, choosing to ignore how it feels a lot because how it feels on many an occasion is just straight up bad. So when Eddie catches a flash of snakes or fangs in the TV reflection or the mirror or whatever, to him it's just the same as the echoing memories of what Kas's voice sounded like inside of his head.

Now for the reality of the situation which I never got to really dive into because it was in Eddie's perspective and our boy was an unreliable narrator when it came to what was going on with his body-- there are degrees to which he was shifting on accident depending on the moment and the context, and there were degrees to which the snakes were just trying to make themselves known in any way they could when he had a tight hold on keeping them physically in.

Which is a complicated way of saying-- that moment on the morning after Thanksgiving when he wakes up frozen and catches sight of snakes in the TV reflection after Steve leaves the room? Real snakes that he really forced back inside without ever realizing it because he was in a moment between wakefulness and sleep, thus, at a vulnerable enough moment for control to slip.

(It's also the first time he's shared a bed with someone and allowed for that trust and vulnerability which is hey maybe where his snakes saw an opening, even if they only managed it for a handful of seconds in the long run)

(also take two- I just really liked the fact that Steve got so close to seeing it in this moment but didn't)

But seeing himself in the mirror when he was fighting with Steve and packing to leave for Hawkins? Just a trick of the mind caused by the thing that wants to protect him from how scared he is in that moment, but can't because of how tense a hold he has on himself, how little he is allowing for anything remotely outside his control to happen.

Is that too complicated for something that never ended up having an impact on anything other than my own delight at dropping hints?? MAYBE BUT WHO CARES I HAD FUN.

Seven Sentence Sunday

Holy shit, I can't believe it's been almost a month since I had something to share...

And special thanks to @iboatedhere for the tag today after an epic day of finishing not one but two WIPs yesterday (but only one I can share right now, as the other is for @anywhere-with-you-event).

So here are some sentences from my upcoming @flufftober piece for the October 30th prompt "Forever?". Somehow both of my pieces ended up involving the sweet pup David 🐶

As they walked through the park to the off-leash area where David loved to run free and fetch sticks (and other people’s balls, dog toys, sticks they threw to their own dogs, etc), they would always use the time to touch base with each other. Sometimes it was about mundane things like bill payments or vet appointments or what groceries they needed that week. Other times their conversations veered towards more fun topics, like the latest work drama, vacation ideas, or party invites. 

Today, however, it was a combination of the two as they were discussing the necessity to visit Henry’s family in London for Christmas, including his crotchety old grandmother. She was by far the worst person in either of their families, maybe on Planet Earth, and they usually tried to avoid her at all costs, as a general life rule. She was racist and homophobic, which meant she completely disapproved of their relationship, so never seeing her was honestly fine with them, given that they lived on another continent with an entire ocean separating them. She was also the reason that Henry had moved to New York in the first place, so maybe Alex should be thanking her in some weird roundabout way?

Are there fics where they meet for the first time in years during the 2020 reunion? And I mean reunion at Rachel's house to watch the Tony's, or reunion in the high school building. I would love to read something about them not being together since season 5 or 6, and then meeting each other again after a few years, but not in a AU setting, but rather fitting more or less to season 6 finale.

So I've tried to find you some "reunion" fics which occur at a ND reunion, or in Lima, because I can't think of any where they are actually reunited at the 2020 reunion specifically, but hope these fit what you are thinking of. There are so many fabulous Reunion fics that are set years afterwards, and in different settings - try the tag which I have highlighted. If anyone wants to suggest any that fit what Anon is looking for, please let us know. ~Jen

AU after Season 5/ Alt!s6. Blaine went back to Lima after the breakup, but Kurt stayed in New York. They do in fact reunite on the corner outside the loft in six months, but it doesn’t go as either of them expected. Over the course of the next year, Blaine struggles to find himself, and Kurt struggles to find Blaine. And while they both realize that love doesn’t necessarily conquer all, they discover that it definitely helps.
