lestat literally remembered the specific phrase louis used to describe oral sex over a century ago and he said “you know what would be an awesome lyric to include in my first single?” he is the most normal girl in the world

best thing about the vampire chronicles is canon is basically a fun guessing game bc pretty much every narrator is a horny mentally unstable lying murderer and the plot is incidental to whatever gay drama they're currently undergoing
"but this book says" that book is narrated by lestat he's not fucking paying attention lmao he is busy being A Nuisance and A Slutty Slutty Terror

this i think is the best explanation of haladriel's dynamic. He really did desire her by his side, but he is deceptive/narcissistic as to what that means. He is presenting vision of co-rulers. But he doesn't desire a queen regent, but a figurehead or tool by his side. he get's to rule over her and she gets the illusion of power. the ending of season 2 is great in that galadriel is able to say im not settling for being your slave to pretend to be queen. ill be my own queen in due time. I have the power to do that on my own. I know can heal my issues and you cannot. I don't need to find the mythical heir of something or another to achieve that.

something about louis and lestat's reunion happening as a hurricane encroaches upon NOLA. water having the capacity of being renewal, purification, new beginnings. water also having the capacity to symbolize devastation. together, mourning claudia. just one more round in the stormy romance of you two.

when people say they want "a full loumand sex scene" like what do you expect. the difference between the loumand scenes and the loustat scenes is not as dramatic as I feel some people make it out to be. Like, the main difference is that Lestat took every chance he could to be ass naked in front of Louis. But atp this is no real precedent to expect actual ass clapping on camera.

interview with tetsuya chiba (artist behind ashita no joe as well titles like ore wa teppei and notari matsutaro) from 2022. apparently the "white ashes" beat was his idea — one has to wonder what author asao takamori (aka ikki kajiwara) even contributed.

PAUL: This was getting towards the psychedelic period when we were interested in winking to our friends and comrades in arms, putting in references that we knew our friends would get but that the Great British Public might not. <…> I remember with the prick teasers we thought, That'd be fun to put in. That was one of the great things about collaborating, you could nudge nudge, wink-wink a bit, whereas if you're sitting on your own, you might not put it in. You know, "I'd love to turn you on", we literally looked at each other like, "Oh, dare we do this?"' It was a good moment, there was always good eye contact when we put those things in. <…> PAUL: We looked through the newspaper and both wrote the verse "how many holes in Blackburn, Lancashire". I liked the way he said "Lan-ca-sheer", which is the way you pronounce it up north. Then I had this sequence that fitted, "Woke up, fell out of bed …" and we had to link them. This was the time of Tim Leary's "Turn on, tune in, drop out" and we wrote, "I'd love to turn you on." John and I gave each other a knowing look: "Uh-huh, it's a drug song. You know that, don't you?"' "Yes, but at the same time, our stuff is always very ambiguous and "turn you on" can be sexual so …c'mon!" As John and I looked at each other, a little flash went between our eyes, like "I'd love to turn you on", a recognition of what we were doing, so I thought, Okay, we've got to have something amazing that will illustrate that.
(Paul McCartney: Many Years from Now by Barry Miles, 1997)
When John and I wrote, ‘I’d love to turn you on’, we knew it was a perfectly harmless phrase, but we also knew it would hook into the Timothy Leary crowd. There’s an impishness about it, a schoolboy thing. There are some old songs that mention it – Cole Porter’s ‘I Get a Kick Out of You’, or the song ‘Cocaine Blues’ (covered by Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan) – and it’s a nod, a wink and a nod, because you’re using a perfectly ordinary word when you’re talking about a guy on a flute going ‘toot toot toot toot’ that’s what flutes do – but you’re also playing a little bit of naughtiness.
(Paul McCartney, The Lyrics, 2021)
Paul’s contribution was the beautiful little lick in the song, “I’d love to turn you on,” that he’d had floating around in his head and couldn’t use.
(John Lennon, 1980, All We Are Saying by David Sheff)
