Since @thenib will be shutting down soon, I thought I'd share a couple of my favorite comics I've done for them over the years. Flip the Switch, from 2015, explores my first foray into float tanks. You can read the rest of the comic under the cut:

"Unware of light, sound, gravity or any physical sensation at all, I am at perfect peace - like a mind in space I drift: to return to the world rejuvenated, refreshed and dynamic."

So, I have some honest questions about meditation.
Specifically, that I’m at a plateau, and looking for things to nudge me past it a bit.
For example, I recently went to a float therapy session, and while it was good - my home setup with my weighted blanket, eyemask and earplugs, and the body scan/“turn off” I’ve been doing for 30 years since I was a teenager gets close, and I was hoping to break past that.
If anyone has any specific recommendations for meditation practices or narrations for ADHD and/or Autism, that would probably be the most helpful.
Because right now the only way I can “clear my mind” is to run three parallel “programs” (a visualization, counting, and a mental fidget), and again I’d like to be able to more easily break past the effort on things other than the visualization if it’s possible…

I’m officially a float tank enthusiast. The intense relaxation that overtakes your body and mind is incredible. It’s just you and your thoughts so your subconscious becomes louder, but in a good way. It’s like an alert meditation trance. In the beginning I told myself positive affirmations, after that I focused on my breathing which put me into a deeper state of relaxation. Eventually I drifted into thinking about my life without an anxious feeling which was nice for the one time. Everyone’s experience is different though. I’d recommend it to anyone who needs to slow their thoughts down and relax.

The Benefits of Regular Float Tank Therapy Sessions
Float tank therapy, also known as sensory deprivation therapy, involves immersing yourself in a tank filled with water and Epsom salt, which creates a buoyant environment that allows you to float effortlessly. This sensory deprivation experience can help you disconnect from the outside world and enter a state of deep relaxation, reducing stress, anxiety, and depression.
Regular float tank therapy sessions can have a multitude of benefits, including improving sleep quality, reducing chronic pain, increasing creativity and focus, and boosting the immune system. By allowing the mind to enter a meditative state, float tank therapy can help individuals achieve a sense of calm, inner peace, and mental clarity.
Overall, incorporating float tank therapy into your wellness routine can enhance your physical and mental health, providing a sanctuary for relaxation and self-reflection. With consistent practice, float tank therapy can help individuals reach a heightened state of consciousness, unlocking the full potential of the mind and body.

the walkers in star wars make me irrationally angry like look at those things. they all failed the moose test. legs as long as the goddamn washington monument and about as flexible too. you KNOW they have understeer. destroy only one leg out of four to cripple the entire machine. crew survivability sits at a solid "good luck dude".
this goes for the republic walkers with extra legs too. do those things have a speed that isn't grandpa strolling past a construction site? why do they move at tortoise velocity? scrap them all IMMEDIATELY

The High Republic series confirmed that part of a Jedi youngling’s day in the creche are midday naps on little nap mats, and now the image of all our faves in youngling form curled up on the nap mat is living rent free in my head
