I still hate the cancellation of Lockwood and Co.
I'm sure we would have seen the first Locklyle kiss, as well as the formalization of Goerge & Flo as a couple and Holly as a lesbian in the version of the show.
The fact that Locklyle and George & Flo end up together is only suggested in the book, so no real conversations on the subject and even fewer kisses are shown to us, while Holly is insinuated that she is a lesbian, but nothing is confirmed either.
Once again, the show definitely took a more direct route with the number of times Locklyle observed each other's mouths as well as the George & Flo scenes which exude a fairly obvious form of flirt.
It's really a shame.
We finally had the opportunity to see the romances of this story officially come to fruition and maybe even meet Holly's roommate and... Netflix ruined everything.
Again.

hc that lockwood was out running an errand earlier on the morning of Lucy's interview and saw a pretty girl looking into a shop window and was taken aback by how pretty she was and ran home to tell george. george could honestly care less but lockwood is so happy because he noticed that she had a rapier case on her back and rants to george about how she must be an agent and that means that he has a shot of seeing her again/talking to her.
and then a couple of hours later lucy carlyle, the pretty girl that lockwood had seen while he was running his errands, walks into 35 Portland Row and asks about getting a job and lockwood has to fight the urge to give it to her before even giving her an interview. george immediately knows what's going on and that's one of the reasons that he doesn't want lockwood to hire her- bc he can see that lockwood is all but jumping for joy when he sees her again and he knows that lockwood is already falling for her. george teases him relentlessly while lucy unpacks later that night.

In the Name of a Cosy Christmas
Lockwood & Co (books) fluff
Summary: After everything, what more could be asked for, than a warm cosy Christmas?
Warnings: none, just fluff. Spoilers for The Empty Grave.
A/N: This was written for a Secret Santa event on one of the L&C discord servers! To read in Ao3, click here.
word count: 1070
A few months after the break in, after the Other Side, and Fittes, and all the shit that went down with it, gradually normality seeps back into Lockwood and Co’s headquarters. The new shelves fill up with new trinkets, the walls get repapered and Lucy makes the effort to make and hang up polaroid collages on the first floor. The house goes from cozy to destroyed to pristine to lived on again.
Lockwood feels lighter than he ever has, redecorating his home gives him a chance to project and think of a life of his own. He tears up at the paint store when the employee asks him what colour he wants, so Lucy steps up and picks a few cans, ignoring the guy’s questioning looks.
With time cases started to come, and routine set in again. Despite the dismantling of the Fittes conspiracy, the arrival of autumn spikes the number of ghost sightings and hauntings, as would be expected, and Lockwood and Co rises to the occasion.
Holly still tags along in the field, but her demeanor is more cautious, if it is even possible. She checks and re-checks the bags before going out, and packs twice the standard amount of salt bombs in her duffel bag and magnesium flares in her belt. One random day in October, she shows up with her white strand dyed black to blend in with the rest of her hair. No one makes a comment or snarky remark.
She doesn’t stay for lunch as often, and Lucy thinks it’s her way of putting some distance between herself and the agency, but later finds out Holly and her roommate started going on dates and spending more time together. The only piece of information she can make her spit out is the DEPRAC agent’s name, Scarlett.
George makes a full recovery, and keeps making up theories and investigating about the Problem and its imminent end. A curious little relationship forms between him and Flo. It’s odd to see her every other day around Portland Row, in such a domestic setting, but she is welcomed by everyone, even with her muddy boots that mess up the carpet more often than not (Holly does offer to buy her some slippers).
Kipps spends a month bottled up in his apartment, recovering and thinking of his next steps. He gets in touch with his family, and his sister helps him through it all. He marvels at the idea of studying to become a school teacher to young agents in the future.
-
Distant fireworks announce the start of Christmas Day. The table is messy with different snacks, tea, champagne and what remains of dinner. Mismatched glasses with different beverages are raised and clinked.
Lockwood stands up and hugs Lucy, a chain reaction of ‘Merry Christmas’ and kisses on cheeks follow. Everyone is cheerful, and for a moment it’s like nothing bad has ever happened, and they are just a normal group of friends that call each other family.
“I haven’t showered since last year,” exclaims George, looking very proud of his joke. Lucy rolls her eyes, but then her expression turns into a smirk. He freezes. “Wait, that’s not today.”
Holly lets out a bark of laughter no one has heard from her before, and quickly covers her mouth to hide it. That triggers a round of giggles and Holly joins in, feeling self conscious, but accepting her fate. Scarlett hugs her from the side and pecks her cheek as if to cool off the flush (it has the opposite effect, of course).
Kipps takes a sip of champagne and steps to the side to open the freshly painted and decorated back door, snow glistening under the moonlight and the occasional pyrotechnics. A cold current of air meets his cheeks and brings with it memories of the Other Side. He looks back at the table, and closes the door.
“Shall we move to the living room?” Exclaims Lockwood, excited to show off the gifts he bought for everyone (they are matching sweaters that he will make them wear for the rest of Winter).
-
It’s four in the morning. The fireplace is being guarded by a sleepy Lucy, who keeps the fire going for the sake of Quill. He complained a couple of times about freezing to death if he slept on the couch with such a fimble blanket, the implications of such comment perturbed her a bit, so she agreed to be the one in charge of it.
Holly and Scarlett claimed the guest bedroom and moved there half an hour after Holly passed out on Scarlett’s lap. She kept playing card games with Kipps and Flo, but excused herself and picked Holly up when she started to stir and gently pull on her long auburn hair.
George is asleep on the other couch, his legs in Flo’s lap. She is drinking sugary coffee while she reads a book and fiddling with the quilt that covers them.
Lockwood approaches the fire and sits next to Lucy, balancing a tray with tea and some leftover dessert. She’s focused on the small flames, sitting cross legged, but looks over and returns a small smile when it’s offered to her. Lockwood passes a cup to her and takes one of his own.
“This is the best Christmas I’ve ever had,” she whispers, looking back at their friends. She cut her hair last week and it frames her cheeks so perfectly. One of the white strands is a part of her curtain bangs now. She takes a sip of her tea and looks directly at Lockwoods eyes. “I still can’t believe we made it out.”
“Yeah…” He sighs, then a vulnerable smile replaces his shining one. “I’m so thankful we get to be here, all of us.”
Lucy glances at the skull on the shelf. It has been adorned with fairy lights and a scarf ‘just in case he feels cold’, according to George. It has made its fair share of wispy half-apparitions since the explosion, but it’s okay. She knows wherever he is, he must be so pissed about the lights, and it does bring some comfort to her.
And so, on one of the longest nights of the year, they slump into each other in the warm glow of the fire, and eat cake until they feel slightly sick.
-
They wake up at midday, on the floor, with cramped muscles and necks, but covered by a certain quilt that Florence insists on knowing nothing about.
.
.
.
A/N: Hope you enjoyed! See? I can write non-selfinserts, haha (i fought tooth and nail to keep the second person away lmao). Felices fiestas, and i hope you start 2025 with the right foot!

Lockwood and Co. : The Creeping Shadow SPOILERS AHEAD
So this was supposed to be my request for a AO3 fic series for the missing scenes from the books. Here's the link to the fic- https://archiveofourown.org/works/45631399/chapters/114823774
But I think the author has stopped updating. So here I am sharing my head canon from TCS. It's just me loosing my mind after reading too many locklyle fics and reading too much between the lines (literally). But i think I did make a good point 😅 and oh I refrence the show too.

So, if any writer comes across this post. Please consider this as a prompt for your next work 🙏😭I need to read this.
Do tag me in your work or any other locklyle related fic.

VERY EXPLICIT DETAILS AND DESCRIPTIONS OF MY FEELINGS AFTER FINISHING "THE EMPTY GRAVE"
I tabbed 5 pages: blue for 347, red for 354, green for 385, orange for 415 and yellow for the very last one
i. Lockwood tells Lucy about the blue sapphire necklace his dad got for his mum as a "symbol of his undying devotion".
I was listening to Radiohead for most of the book, and this scene in particular was very dear to me because "Weird Fishes/ Arpeggi" is almost most definitely Lockwood's song. Like. Everybody leaves when they get the chance to, but Lucy won't. Lucy is back here and he's with him and they're standing side by side and he nearly can't get the words out of his mouth that's gone incredibly dry but somehow he's telling her about the necklace in his palm and his mind is racing while thinking about how pretty it'd look against her supple skin. He's almost about to give it to her, his mouth is open but the words die in his throat because Kipps is leaning over the doorway and telling them that Winkman is here and now he might die and she might never really know about his feelings for her but it's okay, because she'll live. He'll make sure she'll live.
ii. "But, if anything, I had my eye on someone else."
"Good God, you don't mean George?"
"You must know there are other possibilities in this world."
Sweet, darling girl Holly and her unrecruited wlw crush. Sweet, darling Holly who was squealing on the inside whenever she caught a glance of Lucy, her glowing skin and twinkling eyes and bright hair. Sweet, darling girl Holly who couldn't help the mean words that sometimes spilled from her lips because God forbid anyone realised what actually might hide under those longing glances.
iii. Lucy and her pet Skully but Skully is being TAKEN AWAY and they're having an angsty goodbye.
I'm pretty sure I actually cried during this scene. As much as she hates to admit it, she's so fond of Skull and his company and she's so used to his vile, unannounced jokes and comments that when he's being taken away from her, her heart literally stops, even though she isn't in the living world anymore. We only realise what we have until we've lost it, and this quote fits here perfectly. Sure, she hates him and his comments are unneeded and he never helps her, but they can't just take him away, can they?
iv. "Marissa came by?" Lockwood asked. "Was she alone?"
"Hey, Lucy asks the questions around here," the youth said. "You can't just barge in and take over like you're the leader or something? Where's your respect?"
Bonus - Skull telling the Clapham Butcher Boy to "find his own human"
I GIGGLED SO LOUD. He's so emotionally dependent on her. Find your own goddamn human, fish face!! That's right!! He's my favourite character. Nothing intellectual to talk about here, it just made me smile really big.
v. She hung the symbol of Lockwood's father's undying devotion to his mother around. Her. Neck. Cause. Locky. Gave. It. To. Her.
CAN YOU HEAR MY SCREAMS AND SOBS? Oh my God, where do I even start? During the entirety of those 5 books, they've always ran and someone's been hunting them down and Penelope was always breathing over their shoulder but not anymore. They'll still take on dangerous jobs and get into little quarrels with Barnes but now Kipps and Flo are also part of their little 35 Portland Row agency. They'll still be in danger every day because that's just what their job requires but it's different because Lucy's got that little gemstone around her neck and it might not mean anything to simple onlookers but all the love and light that's ever been gathered in it is now shining upon her. It's casting a little golden halo around her head and it's all okay because even when death is looking them in the eye, they'll look at each other and nod and everything will be okay.
This is it! Thank you for reading my little rambles. I don't know how I'll ever recover, because 35 Portland Row will eternally be etched to my heart. As my favourite singer once sung, there'll always be a chamber in my heart dedicated to those three and all their little hooligan friends and the shenanigans they got into.

@netflix when you go completely broke and everyone has un-subscribed from your streaming service because you continue to give fans false hope for their beloved shows to be completed only to have that hope crushed the lockwood and co fans will stare down at you with contempt but we will not hesitate to remind you when we begged you to give us a second season you refused, we will not hesitate to remind you that maybe just maybe if you had listened to the outcry of all the fans of the amazing shows you canceled and instead given them just one more season people wouldn't have lost their faith in you.

Chapter 19: To Begin Is Half The Work
First | Prev / Next
Ghost possession doesn't happen often, but fatality rates are high. Even if an agent does survive, there are the aftereffects to worry about.
After surviving a possession, Lucy Carlyle struggles with recovery, delving ever deeper into the memories of Visitors and, in the process, stumbling into the world of blackmarket Sources.
Meanwhile, George Karim races to learn the truth behind ghost possession in order to protect Lucy and save future agents.
And Anthony Lockwood must face his own past with the London underworld if he wants to save his friends and himself.
-
Hadrian's Wall stretched 118 kilometers across Northern England and it was true that George, who never ventured outside London before Combe Carey, had always wanted to see it. Annoyingly, Lockwood often remembered little things like that about a person—from the spices George needed for particular recipes to the specific color of Lucy's nail polish—and used that information at the worst times.
Now, the three members of Lockwood & Co stood in a row looking at the remains of the wall and waiting for Flo Bones to appear as the light dimmed behind the grey storm clouds looming overhead. The wind blew their hair into their faces and the faint, spitting rain flecked over George's glasses. It was cold as a witch's ghost-touch.
"Doesn't look too hard to scale," Lockwood said, grinning like an idiot. This particular section of broken and weathered stone was about level with George's shoulders. "But I suppose they must've been shorter back then."
"Don't be stupid on purpose," George grumbled. "It was at least twice this height on average in the Roman days. Stones were picked off it in the medieval period to build roads and houses."
"Is that true, Luce?"
She sucked her teeth, crossing her arms over her chest to pull her coat closer. "How should I know?"
"Well, since you're from the north, I thought—"
"So you turned up after all."
They all jumped as a girl spoke behind them. She stood beside a nearby tree, leaning on an ancient bicycle, and wore a black puffer coat, her dark coily hair pinned back under her wide hat. Her eyes were the sharpest George had ever seen, giving the impression she'd learned everything she needed to know about you from a single glance. She flipped a knife over and over in her hand, the blade flashing in the fading light.
"Punctual as always," Lockwood said, smoothing the lapels of his coat. "I'd like you to meet my colleagues, George Karim and Lucy Carlyle. George is an all-arounder like you, Flo, and our primary researcher."
"Only researcher," George corrected and felt something flutter in his gut when the corner of Flo's mouth twitched up.
Lockwood ignored the interruption. "And Lucy is our Listener, the best in London."
"Well now, we ain't in London, are we, Locky?"
Lucy scowled—or was already scowling, it could be hard to know—but a smile snuck its way across George's face. "Locky?"
"Ah. Suppose you call him Mr. Lockwood or some other posh rot."
"Just Lockwood, actually. Thank you, Flo," Lockwood said through a tight smile. "We ought to get moving. Daylight's fading as we speak. Lead on, Ms. Bonnard."
She pointed her knife at him and said, "I oughtta gut you for that."
Instead, she stowed away the knife and pushed her bike down along the trail beside the wall, whistling as she went.
"See?" Lockwood said, a gust of wind rippling his coat as he started after her. "The picture of professionalism."
Lucy shouldered her kit bag, grumbling as she and George followed.
He recognized an active archaeological site when he saw the open pit near the section of wall Flo led them to, the ground dark and muddy with rain. The latters down into it stood exactly as the archaeologists had left them. His stomach twisted as his initial thought struck him—a mass grave, one of the most dangerous types of potential haunting sites for the sheer strength of their psychic output. Too many Sources packed together, all amplifying. There were hundreds all over England, from plagues and prisons and every type of war imaginable, and they were the first priority during the early days of Fittes and Rotwell.
George blinked, wiped off his glasses, and looked again. Inside the pit stood rows and rows of brick columns evenly spaced in a grid. Swallowing fear and trying not to throw it up again, he suddenly understood what he was looking at.
"It's a house," Lockwood said, as if surprised by an easy puzzle.
"It's a hole in the ground," Lucy replied, surly.
"Yes, but look at the size and shape of it, Luce." He stepped closer and bent his head towards her as he spoke. With two fingers, he traced the outline of the pit through the air. "It has to be an ancient foundation of some sort."
George looked at him sidelong. "How do you know that?"
"You don't think my parents bought all those artefacts in the house, do you?"
"Oh, it's ancient alright," Flo said, resting her bike against the wall. "Roman as good ol' Hadrian. Locals reported malaise, disembodied screaming, and the smell of smoke. The night watch with the archaeology team lost one of their own. They say it's a Fetch."
George almost asked which agency she'd trained with; she didn't sound like a relic hunter. "The smoke makes sense," he said instead, adjusting his glasses. "This is a hypocaust. It's how wealthy Romans got central heating. All those pillars help the air flow under the house floor. The remains of the furnace should be somewhere nearby."
A smile cut across Flo's face. "Researcher, huh?"
"Why were they excavating at night?" Lockwood asked.
"Funding," she said. "They only had a few days, wanted to make the most of it."
Lucy mumbled, "Idiots."
"Well," Lockwood clapped his hands together and drew himself up straight. "No time like the present. Luce, you and I will put down chains, one circle here and one in the pit. George and Flo get temperature readings, see if you can find the most likely place for a Source."
They set down their bags and went to work. George made his way systematically through the pillars with the temperature gauge. Built of heavy brick, they towered over him. As he looked up at one, imagining the house that must've stood over this forest of stone, he slipped in the mud. Flo caught him.
"Steady on, Georgie," she said, pulling him upright again by his coat.
"Thanks." Warmth burst over his face at the nickname and he hoped Flo wouldn't notice through the gathering dark.
She patted his shoulder as she let him go. "Can I call you Georgie?"
"Hm?" He adjusted his glasses. "Oh, sure."
"Didn't see you last time I was over at old Portland Row. You been following Locky around very long?"
Once he had his feet under him again, he went to the next pillar, checking the temperature in favor of looking at her directly. "A year and two months."
Flo made a noise halfway between a laugh and a scoff. "You've lasted longer than most then. Good on you."
"Not as long as you. You knew him when he worked for the Archive." He glanced over his shoulder to gauge her reaction.
She only raised an eyebrow. "He told you, did he? He must like you."
George shrugged. "You probably know him better than we do."
"So it is we, then? I saw he got himself a new girl. How long has this one held out?"
He stopped, suddenly nauseated by the implications of what she'd said. "Don't tell me you went out with him."
Flo made a face that reminded him of how he felt when searching for Sources in wall cavities choked with spiderwebs, especially when looking for human remains. "God, no."
The relief he felt surprised him and he didn't want to think too hard about why.
"Have you been selling Sources for a long time?" He tried to make it sound casual, but couldn't tell if he'd succeeded.
Flo tsked at him. "Buy me dinner first, Georgie, before you go interrogating me."
"You asked me about Lockwood!" he protested. Warmth rushed over his face again.
"Sure did," she said, all teeth. George suddenly understood why she'd been friends with Lockwood. They had the same smug confidence, the same upward tilt in their chin, the same front. He wondered what she hid behind hers.
Then she added, "He's all above board now, permits and licenses and everything. For better or worse, what he's doing now is perfectly legal. Agents like you shouldn't stick their noses in places they don't belong." There was a warning in her voice, the spark before a flare went off.
"I'm not very good at that, to be honest."
George could feel her sharp eyes on him as he moved through the pillars, with the wind whistling between them and the beeping temperature gauge. He thought she was about to ask him a question when the wind picked up suddenly, howling and tugging at his hair, sending rain stinging into his face. The gauge beeped loudly and, when he looked down, he saw the temperature had dropped five degrees.
He could smell smoke.
"Lockwood!" he shouted back through the forest of pillars. "It's here!"

Go check out me ( @preciousprongs ) and @ocean-wave-blues started a Lockwood and Co. fanfic! It’s a fame AU. Go check it out and leave a comment of kudo:)
You know it’s always you
Authors- preciousprongs & oceanwave_blues
Pairing- Lucy Carlyle & Anthony Lockwood
Lucy Joan Carlyle was fine. She was sure of it. She was happy. She has a great best friend, great life, great house. Well, calling it a house was a stretch. She had a great apartment. She was great. Absolutely great. In fact, the thought that anyone could think that she was less than great was one she resented deeply.
George Karim disagrees. Strongly. He believes Lucy lives in a place of delusion so far away that pigs flying are the norm. Needless to say, George is correct.
Or: Locklyle AU where Lucy owns a Bookshop/Cafe threatening to go out of business (hell yeah, two tropes in one :)) and Lockwood is an actor starring in an adaptation of one of George’s books.
