The link on the website is the same link I've been using, but it gets an error every time. But, the Internet Wayback Machine strat works! I've actually already found out a way to download FLELE and I had to access a Reddit thread to get the file. But thanks for the help anyways!

so, sound playback. turns out ghosts don't really need anything special for playing all sorts of files (FLUX in particular is a dedicated music player ghost, and some of yall may be familiar with FLELE) aside from maybe LAVfilters installed on the computer for More sound formats besides like 3

this is mostly for myself, i like going through sound files occasionally. he also responds a bit differently depending on the length

also enjoy a dumb thing i made as a test on like my 2ds and spent several days trying to figure out how to record on my computer

you know that post thats like "if u have a bunch of unrelated OCs u dont know what to do with, make a fighting game! or a dating sim!" that type of thing? i think another good option would be to turn ur single or paired OCs into ukagaka ghosts. make them into funny little pngs that sit on ur desktop and talk to u or eachother

Ukagaka is a project, its focus is a desktop buddy to keep you company! You can see more on the @ukagakadreamteam blog!

I'm using amazing Ghost Ink and Flele Sans by @monster-kind

Ink (Ghost) is a nice companion who occasionally talks (and saves me with hydration and stretch checks) and you can also pet him

Sans (Flele) is sort of a music player, he has a singing animation when the music is played through him

Both are bringing me tons of joy uwu

I plan on it! Eventually... I have like half a feature done in there already, and I have an idea for a fairly simple one I could add too that I think people would like! I haven't had a lot of time to do ghost stuff though... I should pick up Edgar and Scriabin again too at some point, haha.

I taught myself! It was a very long and arduous process, there was no documentation in English at the time so it was a lot of trial and error and running sites through Google Translate. I wrote up a tutorial though for other people so they don't have to go through the same thing I did!

I just love making little desktop doodads! I always have, haha. Otaku Mascots, Shimeji, FLELE... just little things you can interact with call out to me. I think there's an urge in certain people's heads where you see something like a Ghost and your brain shoots into overdrive and you're 100mph to Hell in your sudden quest to make one yourself. I dunno what that urge is called but anyone who's made a ghost or something like that will know what I mean, haha.

Where did you try to download FLELE from? If you follow the link on our wiki's page for FLELE, it will take you to this site. As of right now, this website is still working for me.

It has been noted many times, though, that for some people this site gives a 403 forbidden error. If you run into the 403 error, you might try using the internet wayback machine to access an archived copy of the site.

If the link I gave is the one you were using already, try it again and see if you're still getting an error. If it's still giving you trouble, send us another ask (especially if there are any new details) and we'll see if there's anything more we can do to help!

(Sidenote: if you absolutely can't get FLELE to work, you can also try the ghost FLUX, which is a spiritual successor to FLELE and can use most FLELE shells.)

the funny thing about actually getting to write aster is that like... even with ukagaka dialogue I still lean into a couple inspirations for each of the characters that aren't dca. maybe I'll ramble a bit about those later?

but ukagaka dialogue doesn't really reflect how aster starts out and ends up in the hypothetical story, I'd say it's a bit of a mid-point. the two bicker and/or rib on each other, but it's lighthearted and/or no harm really done. then there's aldebaran who has almost No spoken dialogue published yet

obviously I'm not gonna immediately start off writing the entire story I would like to make. I'm not much of an experienced writer and I would like to do the idea some justice. maybe I'll do more of those slice of life short stories that don't necessarily connect to the bigger plot, figure out some world building along the way

I'd say the ukagaka has been a good exercise in just setting up the character. I'm sure it's not Great, but it's certainly an introduction, and people I've shared the WIP ukagaka pack with have been saying kind words about it <:)
