Fanseries Announcement: Natural Sparkle Pretty Cure

Good afternoon!

As I mentioned the other week, I’m working on the final arc of my current fanseries, Pretty Cure Mirai Spark… but I’ve also been working on the first few chapters of one more fanseries:

Girls plus fairies! Let’s protect our beautiful planet!

2,000 years ago, humans and fairies fought against Empress Amias and her fellow demons, eventually sealing them away in what would become the forest bordering the town of Kiramori. However, because of damage to the environment, the fairy magic maintaining this seal has gradually weakened.

In the present day, the seal on Amias and her court is accidentally destroyed, and most of the Element Fairies tasked with guarding that seal are scattered to the winds. Now Amias and her fellow demons are out to rob Earth of its precious energy!

When the fairy Crocus reunites with student council president Shika Morikawa after the seal's destruction, their shared desire to protect the Earth creates a miracle - the birth of Cure Petal, a human warrior empowered by fairy magic!

A story of youth, courage, and the beauty of nature is about to begin!

Mirai Shida & Yuki Izumisawa to Star in Live-action Adaptation of Chiharu Oshima's Iburi Gurashi Manga

    A live-action drama adaptation of Chiharu Oshima's smoked food-themed manga Iburi Gurashi (Smoked Life) is set to be aired on the newly-launched channel BS Shochiku Tokyu from April 4, 2022.

  The manga was serialized in Coamix's Monthly Comic Xenon and compiled in nine tankobon volumes from December 2015 to October 2019. Its total print run has surpassed 500,000 copies so far. The story is about a couple who have been living together in Tokyo for three years, Yoriko, 26, and Meguru, 24. On holidays, the only time they can spend together amidst their busy schedules, they smoke food and eat it, deepening their bond through smoking.

  Mirai Shida (the voice of Arrietty in Studio Ghibli's 2010 film The Secret World of Arrietty) is cast as Yoriko, while Yuki Izumisawa (Satoru Morikawa in the Kyo Kara Ore Wa!! live-action film) will play her boyfriend Meguru. They previously a couple before in the live-action drama adaptation of Yu Suzunoki's medical manga Kounodori: Dr. Stork in 2017.

now ofc i have to say this is pre-T3. so if something in t3 contradicts stuff, you can kill me instantly

that being said i also think mirai was also like. highly praised by the sakurais. she's everything haruka failed at, so ofc she ended up being THE victim. not to mention mirai probably had a ton of... idk if I'd say expectations? but like. definitely there were more hopes for her

so the first thing that ik a lot of ppl are gonna disagree with is mirai being a sibling to haruka. i never really saw her as a sibling and more like a childhood friend???

also she's as old as haruka. come on guys, there's plenty of stuff that implies she's the victim that got haruka in milgram to begin with she's not 9 😭😭

I felt uneasy about it this whole time… Someone as worthless as me having killed someone to gain attention, and a person who surely had more worth and more of a future than me, at that… But it turns out that I did nothing wrong after all! It wasn’t wrong of me to kill her! There was never anything for me to worry about…!

i definitely have made mirai... also neurodivergent? but in the "opposite" way of haruka. perfect student, doesn't struggle with much, SUCKS socially. like haruka is awkward as hell but he's... arguably p social in the timeline convos? meanwhile mirai would try to do Normal Girl Talk but also suck at it. esp since she would be more "distant" if that makes sense???

speaking of being distant: that's deffo smth that affects 0101. mirai didn't understand haruka up until the very end, but i also think she's a narrative opposite. looking into the future (lol) rather than being stuck in the past

unfortunately this 👆 takes a MASSIVE hit in their relationship. like. mirai just bluntly and casually accepting that they might not be friends forever. considering the kind of person haruka is... yeah i really really doubt he'd take that lightly

personally her name to me is morikawa mirai. mirai ofc comes from that one weakness line (the wrong future (mirai) chose the wrong me), but morikawa (森川) is a little evil (they're the kanji for forest and river respectively. lol)

Hey everybody! I never made an announcement about it at the time, but right at the beginning of 2017, this blog managed to reach 1000 followers! I am truly humbled by this amount of support, particularly because I know many more people than that end up reading my translations. This post is gonna get long enough, but long story short: thank you, I’m touched! Here’s hoping I only grow more deserving of that support throughout 2017!

I haven’t been checking my Tumblr dash for quite some time now, so I could use your help. I’m taking advantage of my break from novels to translate a lot of one-off DR3 stuff and get that urge out of my system, but now the to-do list is getting long, and I wanted to double-check to see what has been translated already so I can knock them off the list.
