Part 1
Summary: When Eddie and Evan are at work, someone breaks into their home and (Y/n) ends up being attacked.
Enjoy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Reaching her arms out in front of her, (Y/n) curled her hands down around Eddie's biceps and gave him a light shake to make him jump and catch his attention. She rose a brow when he turned his head to the side to look down at her with his lips curved up on one side.
When he leaned forward to try and press a kiss to her temple, (Y/n) pulled back and shook her head, feeling her stomach flip when he frowned.
Holding her hands out flat, (Y/n) pressed them together then parted them to the sides. Then she held her hands out in front of her with her fingers curled into her palms and her index finger and thumb pressed together. She moved her hands back and forth in front of her, crooking her index finger while her lips pursed and she watched the way Eddie's frown curved back into a grin.
Stop running.
"Sorry, Bobby puts us on a timer. In and out," Eddie checked another item off the shopping list held tightly in his fist before he leaned over and pecked her lips before she could pull away again.
He was so used to going shopping with Bobby and Hen for the station, he was always on shopping duty almost every week. Mainly because he was efficient enough to finish the shop in less than twenty minutes. Eddie was used to Bobby giving them each a list and sending them in the shop like they were doing drill exercises.
It was hard to snap out of that routine when he went shopping for his own family rather than for the station house.
Eddie smiled when (Y/n) reached out and curled her hands around his bicep, standing so close she was almost sitting on his hip. He leaned over, pressing his forearms down into the trolley while he looked over the list and bit down on the pen in his other hand.
He liked the way (Y/n) perched her chin on his shoulder and nuzzled her nose against his neck because it sent shivers tingling through his blood and made his body quake.
His eyes followed (Y/n)'s hand as she pointed at her chest, then curled her fingers and crooked her index finger. She curled and uncurled her finger whilst moving her hand in a slow line towards Eddie. Cereal. She was going to go and get the cereal.
Unravelling herself from Eddie's arm, (Y/n) stood a step to the side and jutted her hip out to the side so it bumped into the trolley. Her lips curved into a rather sassy grin which made Eddie tilt his head up to pay attention to what she was about to sign. Her hands crossed in front of her chest then uncrossed and moved down near her hips before she curled her index finger and thumb and moved her hands in front of her again.
But when she finally held her hand up straight and curled her wrist to circle her hand in a clockwise motion, she saw Eddie grin brightly.
Don't run away.
He straightened up so he was back to towering over her and took a step closer so he could reach out and press a finger beneath her chin. He jutted her head back so she was looking up at him, suddenly thankful no one else was in the aisle to witness them.
"I wouldn't dare." He murmured quietly, slow enough for her to read his lips before he leaned in and stole a kiss.
His thumb brushed across (Y/n)'s chin and he nipped at her bottom lip before he pulled back and made a point of walking very slowly down the aisle to show he wasn't about to race off. He couldn't always help speeding around the shop, he had been trained by Bobby to be swift and not to daudle or hang around for anything.
Whereas (Y/n) didn't like to run around the shop, grabbing everything and moving like they were doing some sort of hit and run robbery.
And it was usually Evan who did the weekly shop, he was the only one out of the three of them who actually enjoyed shopping. He was like a child in a toy shop because Evan made the weekly food menu for the house and he and (Y/n) were the ones who did the cooking. They didn't let Eddie near the kitchen unless he was making cereal; that was the only thing he could make properly.
Evan had taken Chris out to the cinema today. He had a thing for all the animated movies and whenever a new kid's movie came out in the cinema, Evan was the first one in the cinema to see them. Eddie wasn't so keen and was very happy for Evan to take Chris for the afternoon.
(Y/n) didn't go to the cinema very often. They didn't show many films with subtitles and they only put subtitles on movies in the evenings so she didn't have many opportunities to take Chris to the cinema. It was easier to wait and watch the movies at home when they came out on the tv.
Rather than stay at home, alone, (Y/n) joined Eddie to do the shopping. It had been almost two weeks since someone broke in and (Y/n) hadn't been alone in the house yet. If both the boys were at work, (Y/n) either went round to see Maddie or she waited at the station because Bobby had graciously told her she could come round whenever she liked and stay as long as she wanted.
And if she was home alone with Chris, they ended up at the park or on an evening drive to get out the house.
(Y/n) was waiting for the day one of the boys told her to stop being silly and brave being alone. She was anxiously waiting for them to snap or sit her down and kindly tell her they couldn't hold her hand and make sure one of them was always by her side twenty four seven.
But neither of them were ever going to do that.
Eddie and Evan had agreed that for as long as they could and in whatever way they could, one of them would be home or be around (Y/n) until she told them she was fine being alone. They would do whatever they could to make her feel safe.
A quiet hum vibrated at the back of (Y/n)'s throat and she pressed her lips together tightly to try and make sure she wasn't accidentally humming very loudly in the middle of the shop and drawing attention to herself.
Her fingers skimmed across the shelves as she turned the corner and moved into the next aisle.
When a sudden tightening feeling started to creep into her chest, (Y/n) glanced around the aisle and turned her head to look back over her shoulder.
There was nothing there.
Unease rattled down her spine and spread through her arms down to her fingertips as she looked ahead and moved just a little bit quicker to get to the end of the aisle. She used to pride herself on being so self aware and having a good gage of her surroundings. (Y/n) could sense and feel when people were near, the boys could never sneak up on her or give her a jumpscare when she was in a certain mood.
Now, every little shift in temperature, every soft breeze or hazy movement out the corner of her eye had her spinning around in circles, barely breathing as she tried to find the source of her panic.
Every touch, every movement and every glimpse became threatening when she didn't feel safe.
(Y/n) turned back around and moved ahead into the next aisle, speeding up to get near the end so she could grab Chris's usual rainbow hoops and the cornflakes for Evan. She grabbed the biggest box she could see for Chris and darted her eyes around for Evan's box.
Her teeth sank down into her lower lip and she coiled the box closer against her chest before she looked down and slowly stood on the empty crate on the floor. Why did they have to put cornflakes on the top shelf? Didn't they know it was one of the most commonly bought items?
Just as her fingers scraped the box, a sudden chill crept up the back of (Y/n)'s neck and a horrible sense of dread built up in the pit of her stomach. Her hand clenched around the cardboard box like claws piercing into prey and she went against every instinct she had and turned her head towards the left as slowly as she could.
Oh God.
She lost her balance and stumbled off the crate and onto the marble floor, watching the cereal box tumble down the corner of her eye in slow motion but it didn't make her wince or jump or react like it should have.
Her body stayed as still as a picture, frozen in time as her eyes locked onto a figure walking past the end of the aisle.
She had seen that awful, shaggy brown haircut before with greasy locks that flopped around his ears. She remembered those dark green eyes. Eyes that had been full of anger and blown wide with panic when she crashed down into the coffee table. Those eyes were the last thing (Y/n) had seen before she collided with the table and subsequently passed out.
Terror ransacked (Y/n)'s blood and made her body tremble as she stood, frozen to the spot. Unable to look away even after the man walked out of sight towards a different aisle.
He hadn't seen her. Would he recognise her if he had? Would he have tried to approach her or just carry on walking as if she meant nothing at all to him? Would he have come over to taunt her, maybe ask how she was after her fall? Maybe he had forgotten what she looked like.
(Y/n) hadn't forgotten him. She didn't forget how he hurt her and how he had gotten away before anyone even knew something was amiss.
With Chris's box of cereal now crushed between her arm and her chest, dinted right down the middle and most likely with half a bag of broken pieces, (Y/n) managed to turn around.
She couldn't feel her feet when they thundered against the floor and carried her in a sprint around the corner. Her body turned and twisted to the side, somehow still agile and graceful while she avoided colliding into someone's trolley and bolted. Her head twisted to the left, furiously glancing down each aisle until she locked her eyes on her partner.
Eddie was stood in an empty aisle, hands on his hips, one knee jutted forward, the pen tucked behind his ear and their shopping list pinned neatly between his lips. He was looking for the specific brand of protein drinks he and Evan had been taking to work with them recently.
(Y/n) wasn't sure if she made a noise that caught his attention or if he heard her panting madly to try and catch back her stolen breath. But either way, his body turned to the right just as she stormed down the aisle towards him. Her arm moved and dropped the box of cereal on the floor a few feet away from the trolley.
There was barely any time for Eddie to move or process the sight ahead of him before (Y/n) barrelled into him and knocked him back three feet into the trolley. Her arms bound around his middle, deadlocking him against her while her forehead pushed forward and buried into the middle of his chest right against his sternum.
Panic was the first thing that Eddie felt when she grabbed him.
His arms froze in mid-air and his eyes bulged in their sockets when he felt that she was pressing herself against him so tightly her nose was becoming squashed into his chest and he could feel each hot breath she panted into his shirt. Her body trembled against his in a way that made Eddie jutter back and forth and he didn't know what to do.
"Woah, baby." He pulled the piece of paper from his lips and tossed it limply into the trolley behind him before he coiled his arms cautiously around her.
His hand cradled the back of her head while his other arm deadlocked around her waist just in case she was about to collapse or her knees were going to giveway. Eddie pressed his lips against the top of her head and tried humming into her hair to calm her down but he couldn't help but dart his eyes around for any sign of a threat or a problem.
He could see a few passers-by giving them odd looks and one old lady even smiled at him as if it was totally normal to have a display of intimacy in the middle of a shop.
But he couldn't see anything that would class as a problem or any sign of a threat.
With a deep breath, Eddie leaned his upper chest back and moved his hands to cup (Y/n)'s face in his palms. His thumbs brushed beneath her eyes, catching a stray tear while he moved her head so her chin was pressing into his chest but she was finally looking up at him.
Eddie kept one hand cupping the side of (Y/n)'s face while he moved his right hand and curled his fingers into his palm. Leaving his thumb and pinky sticking out, he moved his curled fingers to press into his chin before he pulled his hand down.
"What's wrong?"
(Y/n) dug her fingers into Eddie's back, scratching her nails into his shirt as she tried to pull her head from his hold and smother her face back into his chest again. She felt better when she darkened her senses and the only thing she could comprehend was the feel of his chest and she smell of his cologne flooding through her nose.
What was she supposed to tell him? How could she explain she had seen a split second glimpse of someone and she thought, only thought, that it might be the man who attacked her?
How stupid was that going to make her seem?
He looked so familiar. She was so sure it was him, but he walked away. (Y/n) saw him from a distance and for all she knew, he could have been a figment of her imagination. She might have imagined and overreacted to something very plain and simple.
It couldn't have been him, though. It was highly unlikely that after two weeks, (Y/n) would see the same man in the same shop she was in, just by coincidence.
But what if it was him?
Her attention was forced back to Eddie when he gripped her chin and lifted her head from his chest, forcing her to look up at him while he moved his free hand to rub circles over his chest.
Breathe.
Eddie let go of her and took one slow, cautious step back so he could try and sign because she wasn't paying enough attention to read his lips. But as soon as he stepped back, she moved forward and deadlocked her arms around his chest again, too afraid to let him go. Something bad had clearly gone on while he had left her for less than five minutes in another aisle.
He leaned back but allowed (Y/n)'s arms to stay around his middle and he did his best to sign around her. He clenched his hands into fists and held them near his chest before he pulled them down and pointed his index fingers out. Then he turned his palms facing upwards and shook his hands around like he was pretending to juggle.
"Baby, what's happened?"
(Y/n) uncurled her arms from Eddie enough to hover her hands in front of her and shake them around her chest before she stuck her thumb up and pointed it at her chest.
"Scared of what?" Eddie didn't understand. How had she scared herself? They were in a store, what could she have done to scare herself other than almost collide with someone or fall over?
(Y/n) raised a hand towards her eye and moved her finger back and forth for a second before she curled her fingers and pinched her index finger and thumb together, rotating her hand in a circle. It was easier to say she thought she saw something than trying to explain to Eddie that she might have seen her attacker. She didn't want to panic him more than she already had and if she was wrong she was going to look a fool.
Eddie swallowed down a sigh and pressed his lips together in a thin line when (Y/n) repeated the sign for 'scared myself'. She was trying to calm him down and although her words weren't working, her actions were because Eddie could see she was breathing more rationally and evenly now and her eyes weren't watering or fuelled with panic.
"Are you sure?" He pointed at her then held his index finger and thumb out, pressed his finger to his chin and motioned his hand towards her.
His eyes widened when (Y/n) reached forward and curled both her hands around his bicep so she could reel his arm into her chest and cling to him like a monkey to a tree. The action unsettled him because he could see she was still rattled and he didn't know why. But she wasn't in floods of tears or spiralling into a panic attack and Eddie didn't want to push her into one by continuing the conversation.
He reached down with his free hand and grabbed the cereal box she dropped and tossed it into the trolley. His eyes remained on (Y/n) for a while as they walked. Eddie didn't like the way she tightened her fingers into his arm when someone passed them by.
Her nose and lips pressed just below his shoulder over his shirt and (Y/n) kept her eyes on the trolley to stop herself from overthinking and panicking too much.
It couldn't have been the same person. She was just becoming paranoid.
***
Venom swirled in (Y/n)'s pupils that were turning into black holes the longer she stared down at the coffee table.
Wood. The new coffee table was made of wood. No metal frame to scrape into (Y/n)'s skin and give her bruises that still hadn't faded away and scratch marks that cut deep enough to leave little scars. No glass top that could easily shatter if she were to be thrown onto it again. No chance of another accident that led to a four hour stay in the emergency room picking glass out of her hair and arm.
They shouldn't have needed to buy a new coffee table. (Y/n) liked the old one, there was nothing wrong with it until she literally fell through it.
Eddie and Evan couldn't stomach the thought of another glass table and they had been more than relieved that the dining table was made of oak or that would have been switched as well. They didn't want any reminders of the fact their girl had been forcefully smashed through a pane of glass.
The small discoloured mark on the wood floor from her blood stain was more than enough of a reminder about what happened.
Tears dripped down (Y/n)'s face and her nails scratched so deeply into her upper arms that she was beginning to draw blood. Her elbows pinned into her chest as her upper body slowly rocked back and forth on the sofa.
The tv was playing an old re-run of one of Eddie's favoured Spanish tella-novella shows. (Y/n) couldn't find the will to try and watch something new and actually focus on the tv; it was on as background stimulation rather than entertainment.
"No."
The word fell from her lips on a constant loop, sometimes loud, sometimes deathly quiet and inaudible. But it was the only thing she could say and comprehend as she pushed up from the sofa and launched the remote on the floor near to the tv.
She couldn't even last an hour alone in the house. Maddie had gone home just over half an hour ago and (Y/n) couldn't handle it. Both the boys were on shift together and (Y/n) knew deep in her heart that the station was where she was going to go. Since Maddie walked out the door, the thought of the station had lodged itself in the back of her mind.
She couldn't bare to go into the dining room alone. She didn't want to bring her crafts into the living room or the bedroom. She didn't want to be in the house when no one else was here and if her back was turned to the door, she was making herself easy prey. Again.
With her bag slung on her shoulder, (Y/n) coiled her arms around her chest and hurried out the front door. She barely managed to lock it before she was speeding down the path and around the block.
Home wasn't safe if one of her boys weren't with her.
How was (Y/n) supposed to protect herself when she failed last time? She didn't know she was supposed to be protecting herself from anyone before the stranger broke in. She couldn't hear anything. A burglar could be as loud as he wanted, breaking the door frame, picking the locks and the windows, he could crash into anything and break as many ornaments in the house as he wanted and (Y/n) wouldn't know unless she saw some movement.
With her back turned, she was making herself a target and (Y/n) couldn't constantly be spinning around in circles to check behind her and make sure she was safe. At least with Eddie or Evan by her side, they could hear the things she didn't and she wouldn't get hurt if someone broke in when one of the boys was home.
Walking the streets didn't feel safe anymore.
(Y/n) had plucked up the courage to take Chris to school for the past two days and even he had noticed the way (Y/n) was constantly looking over her shoulder and gripping his hand tighter and tighter the further away from home they walked.
It didn't help that (Y/n) felt sure she was seeing a familiar figure whenever she left the house. She could see a tall, looming figure somewhere on her walk when she left the house. Leaning against a lamp post, walking twenty feet behind her and Chris. Hovering near a car but not actually moving or getting anything in or out of the car. And she couldn't see the figure's face which didn't help when she felt like she was being watched. She couldn't even describe who was watching her.
(Y/n) rubbed her arm against her chest, itching the stitches through her bandage that she had scratched enough to make it come loose and hang near her elbow. She wanted to tear out each stitch, no matter if it meant she would bleed out or not. They were itching and when she was panicked, her arm started to ache and feel heavy.
Panic bubbled up in her chest and made the tears fall faster down her face when she felt the incessant urge to turn her head and look over her shoulder.
The figure.
Looming far back down the road in the direction she had just come from. It had to be a coincidence, that had to be a different person from the figure she thought she was seeing around her almost every day.
Look forward. Keep moving. Don't run.
Mantra after mantra circled around in (Y/n)'s head as she tried not to bolt into a run. She was too far away from the station to run all the way there and not stumble or be caught- if indeed she was being chased at all.
After five paces, (Y/n) crossed the road and rounded the corner, veering off to the right, coming out of the culdesac they lived in. She knew she shouldn't, but she looked back again. He was following her. He had crossed the road and sped up so there was less than the width of a car between them.
She was being followed.
Her fingers rummaged around in her bag and shakily curled around her phone. She needed to message one of the boys and tell them she was coming down to the station. If she didn't get there within ten minutes and she told them she was coming over, they would know something was wrong. Just in case her 'friend' got her before she got there.
Not Safe!! Coming to the station. Need help!
It happened to be Evan that she clicked on. His was the first contact that popped up on her screen. And he was a worrier. She was going to panic him, but if she sent him something calm and serene and she didn't turn up he wouldn't panic as much as he would if she let him knonw something wasn't right.
For a few seconds, she thought about holding her phone to her ear and pretending to be on a call. But she couldn't. The man was close behind her, close enough that he would be able to hear that she wasn't actually talking. And if she did talk and pretend to have a conversation, he would notice right away that she was hearing impaired. She didn't need to give him more motivation to hurt her.
She could feel her panic rising the further away from home she got because she was halfway between home and the station. Halfway to nowhere if he caught up with her soon.
(Y/n) crossed three more roads and got onto the main street in half the time it would usually have taken her to get this close to the station. Sweat was pouring off of her in buckets from a combination of exhersion and panic. Her shirt was clinging to her chest and back and her legs were aching from speed walking and doing her best not to burst out into a run.
I want my boys. I want my boys!
Something like a squeak burned in the back of (Y/n)'s throat when she glanced her eyes at the car next to her on her left.
She could see his reflection in the window. He was close.
Run!
It didn't matter if she bolted down the street anymore. It didn't matter that people were going to see her fleeing down the street and wonder what on Earth she was doing. It didn't matter that he would know she knew she was being followed and that she was in danger. All that mattered was reaching the station before she was grabbed. Again.
Her bag flung into her side and whacked against her back as she ran as fast as her pounding feet and burning legs would carry her. Her right hand clutched her bag to keep it on her shoulder, she needed it as a weapon in case he caught her.
Her free arm waved madly at her side to give extra momentum and push her further as her lungs started to burn and deflate and a stitch tore through her stomach like she had been shot. She needed to keep going. (Y/n) had to round the next corner, cross the road and get into the fire house where she would be safe. He might be stupid enough to chase her in broad daylight, but he couldn't try and attack or snatch her from a fire house where dozens of people would be working and in plain view of him.
A daring glance over her shoulder made (Y/n) scream and she knew the sound was loud because her lips vibrated and her throat burned. He was running after her. She really was being chased down the street.
Her feet skidded as she pounded round the corner and bumped into the wall when her balance was thrown off. Her hip burned and a feeble cry left her lips when the bandage around her arm scraped against the brick wall and took a stitch off with it. But she couldn't stop. The blood would have to trickle down her arm and leave a trail in her wake. She had to keep going.
In her blind panic, (Y/n) didn't bother to look, she stumbled off the pavement and onto the road.
The firehouse. The big, burning red building was right there across from her. It was within her reach. All she had to do was cross the road.
Her body shuddered and her arms coiled into her chest when a flash of dark silver caught the corner of her left eye. A car. Her mind screamed, malfunctioning with the panic of whether to stop dead in the middle of the road or run faster.
She ran faster. She had more chance of getting away from the car and her attacker if she ran rather than if she stopped and missed the car but got caught by the man.
Tears streamed down her burning face and her hands scraped the gravel road, cutting her palms and imbedding grit into the skin when she narrowly missed the car that screeched to a halt two feet away from her as she went down on her knees on the other side of the road. Her hands burned, her arm was shaking in agony and she could barely feel her hands or feet from the numb panic that was making all the blood go to her head and her stomach.
(Y/n) couldn't work out what the driver was saying. He had his head stuck out the car window and his arms were waving at her like mad.
She pushed up to her feet and curled one burning, scraped hand into a fist which she frantically rubbed over her chest as she tried to shout "I'm sorry!" as loud as she could in case he didn't know sign language. She didn't mean to panic him and ruin his day.
She stumbled over her feet and fell backwards, landing harshly on her bum on the edge of the pavement when her eyes locked on her attacker. He was running towards her at full speed. She felt caught between putting her arms up in defence and trying to keep moving. (Y/n) settled for turning and laying her stomach on the pavement to try and push herself up to her feet again.
"No!" Her hands clenched into fists, bashing into his chest when his rough hands grabbed her shoulders.
It was the same touch. The same fingers that bruised her two weeks ago. The same calloused hands that pushed her into the coffee table. The same green eyes that burned into her with a rage (Y/n) had seen very few times in her life. She wasn't being hurt again. She wasn't becoming a victim again.
(Y/n) tried to make whatever noise she could, as loud as she seemed to be able to. Without hearing, it was impossible to determine whether she was whispering or shouting, screaming or murmuring but she did whatever she could. Her fists smashed into his nose and near his eyes, she wanted his eyes to water so he was blinded with pain and had no choice but to let her go.
Her body stumbled backwards when his rough touch let her go and she jolted around and bolted across the pavement and stumbled through the open doors of the fire house.
A shrill scream left (Y/n)'s lips when fingers curled in the scruff of her ponytail and yanked her head backwards with force.
Power (Y/n) didn't know she had jolted through her like electricity and in one swift motion, she spun on her heels and launched her bag out. Her fingers dug into the leather strap of her handbag deep enough to start cutting through the material and she whacked it down roughly on the side of the man's head.
With her phone, purse, keys and a lot of other loose items in her bag, it became a very useful, heavy weapon and (Y/n) slammed it down against the man's shoulder and then into his chest until he stumbled down to his knees. She wished there was a glass door nearby that she could have thrown him into to show him what it felt like to be sliced to ribbons and knocked unconscious by brute force.
She coiled her arm back, ready to send another devastating blow against her attacker's head before a body moved in front of him and hands were being held out towards her.
Bobby.
She stopped in her tracks, chest heaving and tears pouring down her face when Bobby shook his head and kept his arms out towards her to stop her. He had no idea what was going on or why she was suddenly fighting with someone, but he needed her to stop. He could see the state she was in and he had seen the strange man grab her so he knew (Y/n) had every right to defend herself, but she was safe now.
They would take care of whoever this person was.
Panic ransacked Bobby's entire being when (Y/n) finally stopped screaming and instead moved her hand. He only knew the basic signs for sign language, he was still trying to learn more to communicate with her. Evan was like a son to him and therefore Bobby wanted to get to know (Y/n) as well.
"I need some help down here!"
(Y/n)'s hand started to move but Bobby didn't know what she was doing. She pushed her palm away from her, pulling her hand back and forth like she was pushing an invisible door. Before she pointed her index finger and tilted her hand back and forth rapidly. It was the only thing she was signing and Bobby didn't understand.
"(Y/n)?! (Y/n) what's wrong? Jesus baby what are you doing?!" Words flew past Evan's lips and his hand repeatedly pressed against his chin with his thumb and pinky stuck out, trying to ask what was wrong. He heard her screams from upstairs and her text had scared the living daylights out of him.
Evan held both arms out and as swift as anything, he clamped his arms around (Y/n)'s waist and lifted her off her feet before she could swing her bag down on the stranger again. His hands dug into her waist and her arm got pinned against his chest when he swiftly carried her a few feet away towards the middle of the station floor.
He could feel her nails piercing down into his exposed arm and he pressed his lips to the top of her head. His eyes frantically looked over at Bobby, wide and full of panic as he leaned over, pressing his chest into (Y/n)'s side and back to stop her fighting to get out of his hold.
Evan jumped when he felt a hand on his shoulder but relief burned in his eyes when he realised it was only Eddie.
"What the fuck's going on?"
Eddie clamped one hand down on Evan's shoulder and moved the other to grip (Y/n)'s arm when she finally stopped writhing around in Evan's grip so he could let her go. He moved to stand in front of her but anger burned bright in Evan's eyes when he looked down at (Y/n)'s hand to see what she was trying to sign.
It's him.
A sudden breathlessness came over (Y/n) and she found herself latching her hands onto Eddie's forearm as her knees caved. Her back fell into his chest and his arms swooped around her middle, coiling her into him as he lowered them both down to the floor. Eddie knelt behind her, pulling (Y/n) flush into his chest as he kissed the top of her head, unsure what was going on.
But he started to piece everything together when he noticed Evan's hands were curled up into tight fists at his sides and his whole body was trembling.
"Buck, no-"
"I'll kill him! I'll kill the fucker he's attacked her again!"
(Y/n) shuddered in Eddie's arms when Evan bolted from their side. Her head turned to the side and she pushed herself further into Eddie's embrace, burying her face against his arm so she didn't have to watch. She could feel his lips smothering the back of her head and his hand started to flutter up and down her arm to try and calm her down but he too was starting to tremble.
"Buck don't! It's not worth it," Hen and Chimney rushed forward, both of them struggling to hold Evan back while Bobby kept hold of the man so he didn't manage an escape trick.
"Buck you're not helping." Eddie spoke through gritted teeth and he glared up at his partner before motioning to their girl wrapped up in his arms.
Evan wasn't doing (Y/n) any favours by attacking the man in broad daylight because he would get himself into trouble and they didn't need to give the man any reasons to get away with what he'd done.
Anger continued to bubble up through the pit of Evan's stomach and rattle throughout his body. But he wrenched his arms free from Hen and Chimney's hold, shaking them off so he could collapse down on his knees in front of his partners. His hands smoothed up and down (Y/n)'s thighs before he gingerly reached for her hand and gently uncurled her hand from Eddie's arm so he could lay her arm stretched out over his lap.
Two stitches had been torn from her arm and blood was trickling down towards her elbow and a few splatters were dribbled near her wrist and her hand. The bandage was hanging loosely around her elbow so Evan carefully started to wind it back around her arm. The continuous, slow motion calmed down one of the many nerves raging free within Evan and he pinned the bandage back in place. It would do until they could get her to hospital to redo the stitches again and check the wound was alright.
Evan gently brushed his thumb over the back of (Y/n)'s hand while he inspected her palm that was bloody and covered in scrapes and grit and specks of dirt.
"He's not getting away with this." He kept his head tilted down so (Y/n) couldn't see what he was saying just in case he spoke again before he could think better of it. But he knew Eddie heard him when Eddie started to sway (Y/n) back and forth with his lips still pressed against her head and his arms tense around her frame.
If Eddie didn't continue to hold (Y/n) like this, the team would be pinning him to the floor so he didn't go and attack whoever it was that was going to be arrested in a few minutes.
They were going to make sure he regretted everything he had done to their girl.
Hi lanny! Could you provide a guide on how to get into working out? 💗💖
GUIDE TO STARTING TO WORK OUT
hi lele 💝☀️ hope this guide helps you w your journey!!
The first step to working out is setting goals related to exercise, not physical appearance. Avoid things like fat loss, muscle gain, smaller waist, bigger glutes and so on.
While you can make this a separate goal, the reason why I don’t want you to associate it with exercise is that we then allow the way our body looks to dictate whether we believe the exercise we’re doing is good enough.
Exercise and body aesthetics are two different things. Exercise is a means of nourishing our body, soul and mind, while body aesthetics is how ‘good’ our body looks.
On that topic, I want you to stop focusing on your physical appearance when starting to exercise and I want you to start implementing a new mindset shift about your body. Instead of seeing your body as something to look at, appreciate it for what it can do.
For example, your hands create meals, hug your loved ones and help you with essential tasks. Your legs help you to get around, especially to your favourite places. Your stomach helps with digesting all the yummy food you eat.
Some goal ideas:
Lift 15kg+
Be able to do a plank for more than 5 minutes
Learn how to do a push-up
Be able to run on the treadmill for 30 minutes
Gain more stamina and exercise for longer
Moving on, set a time each day in which you prioritise exercise. This can be for however long you want and the times can vary daily.
So, during this period, you are not allowed to do anything else other than exercise. It doesn’t even have to be a specific exercise either, if you’re feeling lazy and laps walking around the house is what feels best, do it.
However, avoid obsessing over working out and losing yourself to exercise. This kills motivation, in exercise starts to feel like another obligation in the day and not a privilege.
Now, you have to choose what exercise is right for you. I don’t believe you’re limited to one exercise, if you want you can have more than 1.
Gym – Perfect for a mix of strength and cardio, however not the best option if you want to exercise for free.
Yoga – Tones muscles while also being a mindful experience. Low low-impact, but recommend doing it after cardio.
Cycling – Tones the legs and the glutes, but cycling may not be the best idea depending on where you live.
running/jogging – Strengthens muscles and bones, however, if you don’t have flat areas, may not be the best idea.
Pilates – Improves flexibility and tone, while still being low impact (still may be challenging).
Weightlifting – Makes you stronger and boosts your metabolism, best done at the gym.
There are plenty of ways to exercise that I haven’t mentioned here, but these are just ideas so you can research the ones that suit you best.
I recommend talking to a doctor if you haven’t done exercise in a long time, as that can open up the possibility of injury.
Then, once we have our goals, times and what we’re doing, we need to exercise. Implementing exercise in your life is best done slowly.
Start with simple, and smaller versions of workouts, even if you think you can do more. Do this for about a week, then try to extend yourself with something harder. If it is too hard, don’t be afraid to go back a step.
Make it fun, create a motivating exercise playlist or watch your favourite TV show while doing it.
However, the main thing about exercising is that every day you are not always going to feel like it, but that is when we have to discipline ourselves, talk to the mirror and say; ‘Me exercising is a privilege, I get to nourish my body because I love and respect it so much’.
This was the best way I disciplined myself into working out. Treating it like a privilege and something that is very benefical, rather than a painstakingly challenging activity.
Or, instead, you can visualise what you would look and feel like if you continue like this for the next 5 years.
The Ultimate Guide to Losing Belly Fat: Strategies for a Trim and Toned Midsection
Dreaming of a flat and toned stomach? You're not alone. Belly fat is a common concern for many people, but with the right approach, you can achieve your goals and reveal those sculpted abs. In this comprehensive guide, we'll explore the best strategies for losing belly fat, including the use of belly fat burners, effective dietary and exercise practices, and lifestyle adjustments to support your journey to a slimmer midsection.
Understanding Belly Fat
Before diving into the strategies for losing belly fat, it's essential to understand the different types of fat and why belly fat can be particularly stubborn. There are two main types of belly fat:
Subcutaneous Fat: This type of fat lies just beneath the skin and is often referred to as "pinchable" fat. While subcutaneous fat can contribute to a protruding belly, it is less harmful to health compared to visceral fat.
Visceral Fat: Located deep within the abdominal cavity, visceral fat surrounds vital organs such as the liver, pancreas, and intestines. Excess visceral fat is associated with an increased risk of various health conditions, including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain cancers.
Best Strategies for Losing Belly Fat
1. Incorporate Cardiovascular Exercise:
Cardiovascular exercise, such as running, cycling, swimming, or brisk walking, can help burn calories and reduce overall body fat, including belly fat. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity cardio or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity cardio per week, supplemented with strength training exercises to build lean muscle mass.
2. Focus on High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT):
HIIT workouts involve alternating between short bursts of high-intensity exercise and periods of rest or low-intensity activity. HIIT has been shown to be particularly effective for reducing abdominal fat and improving overall fitness levels in a shorter amount of time compared to traditional steady-state cardio.
3. Incorporate Strength Training:
Strength training exercises, such as squats, lunges, deadlifts, and planks, can help build lean muscle mass and boost metabolism, leading to increased calorie burning and fat loss. Aim to include strength training workouts targeting the major muscle groups at least two to three times per week.
4. Adopt a Balanced Diet:
Focus on consuming a balanced diet rich in whole, nutrient-dense foods such as fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains, and healthy fats. Minimize intake of processed foods, sugary snacks, and refined carbohydrates, which can contribute to belly fat accumulation and overall weight gain.
5. Monitor Portion Sizes:
Practice portion control to avoid overeating and excess calorie consumption, which can lead to weight gain and belly fat accumulation. Use smaller plates, measure serving sizes, and pay attention to hunger and fullness cues to help regulate food intake.
The Role of Belly Fat Burners
Belly fat burners are supplements or compounds designed to enhance fat burning, particularly in the abdominal region. These products often contain ingredients such as caffeine, green tea extract, and forskolin, which are believed to increase metabolism, promote fat oxidation, and support weight loss. While belly fat burners may offer some benefits, they are not a magic solution for losing belly fat and should be used in conjunction with a balanced diet and regular exercise for best results.
Lifestyle Adjustments for Belly Fat Loss
In addition to diet and exercise, making lifestyle adjustments can help support your efforts to lose belly fat:
Get Adequate Sleep: Aim for seven to nine hours of quality sleep per night to support hormone balance, metabolism, and overall health.
Manage Stress: Chronic stress can lead to increased cortisol levels, which may contribute to belly fat accumulation. Practice stress-reducing techniques such as meditation, deep breathing exercises, or spending time in nature.
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated and support digestion, metabolism, and overall health.
Conclusion
Losing belly fat requires a multifaceted approach that includes regular exercise, a balanced diet, lifestyle adjustments, and potentially the use of belly fat burner supplements. By incorporating cardiovascular exercise, strength training, and HIIT workouts into your routine, adopting a balanced diet rich in whole foods, and making lifestyle adjustments to support overall health and well-being, you can achieve your goals and reveal a trim and toned midsection. Remember to be patient and consistent, as losing belly fat takes time and dedication. With the right approach and mindset, you can say goodbye to belly fat and hello to a healthier, happier you.
Dangan Island: White Rabbits, Black Rabbits (Chapter 1)
Dong Romper... Dangit Grandpa... Dongusrongus... whatever joke nickname you wanna give it, Danganronpa took m' brain and inspired me to write a bit of fun Island Mode-like AU for my favored game in the series.
Starring Not-kuya Twogami/the Ultimate Imposter as the principle POV, since I love them and they are such a drastically underrated character. Also I think my writing, uh, improves on some of the iffy things that appear in Dangan stuffs, or at least steers them and represents them in a more appropriate way. Of course teens are awkward horny weirdos sometimes--maybe doesn't excuse fanservice and going waaaay too far with the stereotyping. Ain't no saints--but don't condone their bullshit, and be sure to show their development and their good side!
Content Warnings: Bickering and Cursing on par with what appears in the game!
Word count: ~5000
Chapter 1
Jabberwock Islands
(Super-Early Morning, Summer 2012)
------------
It had been a bizarre week already, stranded on this archipelago of eternal summertime, but when nothing more bizarre than the appearance of the creature half-Magical Girl and half-rabbit as the full situation came to pass most of the class were able to drop their tensions. Going about the business of living in the confines of this “vacation” was really all each of them could do, and all most of them wanted to do now that their suspicions were reduced and tucked towards the backs of their minds.
The heavyset person bearing the appearance and dignified airs of Byakuya Togami, however, was still skeptical—and restless. Thick arms crossed over his puffed-up chest, half-supported by prickly-tense shoulders and the other half by propping atop the sizable stomach; sheathed in the sparkling white and smooth-ivory suit and slacks, it was a wonder he didn’t roast in such an outfit inappropriate for this climate. And yet he seemed stoic and unfazed as he paced along the pathway alongside the beachfront. His destination lay ahead, beyond a stand of tropical broadleaf shrubs towards the flat, elevated rocky end of the coast. It was a place where none of the others had cause to go—explicitly the reason for his coming here just as the fingers of reddish dawn were creeping in from the east. It would no do for Byakuya Togami to be seen behaving as he was about to—both because the Byakuya Togami did not apparently perform any such regular exercises, and if he somehow did he would not be caught dead doing so by “mere commoners”.
Satisfied he had no witnesses, his stony expression dropped and his shoulders loosened—the change in attitude seeming to almost carve a few inches from his height. Loosening up further, he took a deep breath and began to stretch; arms over, arms across, arms down until his fingers were planted flat against the ground. Shifting position with great ease and poise for his size, all his weight gathered over one side and balanced there as his other leg floated up to point out in a perfect perpendicular angle. Held—then gently planted down again—then switching sides—repeating the motions dozens of times until satisfactorily warmed up. For those first few days, he’d opted not to undergo this practice, loathe to exert any energy in the event things turned dire and he might have to use the gargantuan strength (and sheer momentum) he’d cultivated. By now, though, it would be far worse to put this off and risk falling out of practice. A few more basic strengthening motions should be enough to build up an appetite for breakfast…
It was either the zen-like focus of his exercises or the intrusive fantasizing about the Hanamura-made breakfast waiting in the near future, but either way as he braced his heels far apart and began to ease down into the more difficult stretches he missed the dull rustling of the shrubs and ferns. A horned, maned, electrically-hued head popped around the bend in the footpath and gasped aloud at the sight:
“Whoooa, Booyakasha?” Ibuki shrieked in both surprise and joy, “I had no idea you could do a split!”
The sudden voice and intrusion sent a jolt through him, and in an instinctual jerk of the neck to face the one barging in on his privacy he mistakenly dropped down the remaining few inches into the split—what would have been a perfect split, but by the sharp stings shooting through his hamstrings he knew right away only looked perfect.
“Nngn..!”
“Oof, aww, shit!” the Ultimate Musician put her hands up to her mouth before scuttling towards him, “You okay? I’m so so sorry—I didn’t mean to freak you out!” She sucked some air through her teeth on glancing down, “Shit, that’s like… rock you’re on…”
“Yes,” he grunted, supporting himself with his hands to try and stymie the pain in his legs, “I am very aware of that…” He struggled a moment longer to get his feet back under him, failed, and cast a long-suffering glare over to Ibuki. This would break character a bit, but he didn’t see any less embarrassing choices, “…Ahem, um… could you give me a hand?”
She lent him two, grabbing onto one be-suited forearm and heaving gamely. Her help was marginal despite its eager spirit, but it still did the trick and the Ultimate Imposter brought their mountainous bulk back up to a proud stance. Ibuki had yanked with so much of her strength she almost pitched backward once he was upright—stopped by her own scrambling reflexes and his hand clasping an elbow before she could fall.
“Hmph…” Crossing his arms once more, he tried to avoid looking too naturally embarrassed and instead donned the emotional mask of the Ultimate Affluent Progeny—stiff, as if trying to ignore that he was ever affected in the first place, “So, you’ve taken to snooping around in the early morning now, have you?”
“Ah! I don’t snoop, big guy!” She clicked her tongue, “And this is a path! I’m walking on it! I have every right to see you out here if you’re just, like, out here.”
“At 6:45 a.m.?” he huffed, quirking up an eyebrow.
“I was bored!” She twirled in place, seeming soothed by the waves of motion through her hair, “Hardly anyone else is up this early!”
“And you are?” The eyebrow ticked up higher, “Do you ever sleep?”
“Of course I sleep!” She snorted, “… sometimes.”
“…You couldn’t sleep, could you?”
“Well! Well! No.” She gave a defeated groan, “I get all caught up in what I’m doin’ and lose track of time…”
The Imposter eyed her throughout as she fidgeted, fighting to keep his expression from turning too worried. “Have you considered seeing Mikan about that?”
“Aww, but it’s not serious!”
“You need sleep, Mioda,” he retorted sternly, “Not sleeping is about as bad as not eating. Just consider getting her opinion on this, won’t you?”
“Sure, sure—I can’t say no to you!” She relented and then threw herself into an enthusiastic hug upon the bulwark of the Imposter’s flank, who tried not to react much aside from a disgruntled “tsk!” in Togami’s voice. “And speaking of eating—I thought I sneefed up some of Teruteru’s cooking on the way out here—we gotta get back there before everyone grabs up all the best stuff!”
“I agree…” he smirked, “Come on, let go of me. Come on, try to keep up!”
֍
As expected, aside from Teruteru himself, they were still among the few already awake at this hour to roll into Hotel Mirai’s second floor restaurant. There was a wafting, pleasant odor flowing all throughout, forming a trail back towards the open kitchen doors where the plump little Ultimate Chef was practicing his art—half-humming and half-crooning along to something which the lyrics were fortunately indiscernible from a small radio. Nekomaru sat quietly at the larger table that most of the class tended to share, steepling his fingers as if praying for favor from the G.I. Gods through the steam of a mug of green tea. Similarly oriented to morning hours was Mahiru, sitting close by and alternately sipping a tall, creamy espresso-containing beverage and picking like a bird at one half of a toasted roll spread with something deep brown and smooth. The other half lay ignored amongst a rolled omelet and pair of nori sheafs also on her plate. Her general aversion to “overeating” was observable on her petite frame as well—even down to her birdleg-skinny fingers and wrists which she fiddled with the setting dials on the DSLR camera she kept secured to a strap about her neck. That she’d chosen any protein at all was probably only due to joining the Ultimate Team Manager so early; while he was busy psyching himself up for an attempt at something as simple as rice. It was really a wonder someone as huge and muscular as he was could stay such a shape with insides so prone to revolt, but he somehow did it and then bore it with the expected bundle of (shameless) grace.
With little fuss and no further observations, the Ultimate Imposter took the place across from the larger teenager and focused on the tabletop’s occupants. Ibuki, of course, stuck to his side like an electrifying tick and began chattering animatedly with Koizumi.
“G’ morning my big dapper daddy, an’ my beautisimous Anarchy Queen!” Teruteru’s exaggeratedly suave greeting piped over the conversation, dancing over to the table to unload two freshly-finished platters stacked with many single serving bowls as well as a multi-liter serving pot filled with steaming rice and savory miso, respectively. “More of th’ basics for y’all—the fancier stuff’ll be done in a minute!”
“I would prefer you not call me that,” the Imposter grumbled, his reprimand half-hearted at the appearance of hot starch within his reach. Ibuki clicked her chopsticks together rhythmically and grinned.
“I think it’s cute!”
“… The heir to the Togami family fortune is not… ‘cute’.”
“Alrighty, alrighty, be modest,” she giggled, then shot a dirty look over to Mahiru, and especially to her odd grimacing expression upon hearing the Musician’s praise. Of course the subject of the less-than-flattering reaction paid no mind to it, favoring an attack on the supply of calories in front of him. Shortly afterwards, the chef sauntered back in to deliver two more platters—one of strips of bonito grilled to perfection, and the other of onigiri with a stack of additional nori sheets in case anyone wanted more. As if awakened by the scent of more complex dishes, a notably bleary-looking Kazuichi stumbled in, followed by a far more collected Chiaki and Hiyoko (who seemed alert but still radiating an aura of salt—perhaps due to being too short of continue watching over the Ultimate Gamer’s shoulder on the way to breakfast).
“Hey,” Chiaki mumbled over the jingle of her game saving its progress, barely giving any of the others time to respond to her presence before she was scooping up a pair of onigiri and wolfing them down. Hiyoko’s nose crinkled up at the sight of seaweed and plucked up bonito and rice instead.
“Ack… where the hell’s the caffeine..?” Souda gestured vaguely towards Nekomaru, who grunted.
“Wouldn’t know. Tea’s over there, though.”
“Tea’s… caffeine, right?”
Nekomaru’s eyebrows twitched, “… is it?”
“Black tea, for sure—” Teruteru popped up again, flashing a fan of tea packets as if they were cash, “Pick one of these—they’re th’ quality stuff.”
“No coffee?” the Ultimate Mechanic whined, and the plump little chef suddenly seemed to go rigid with indignation.
“From that supermarket? That coffee?! The instant coffee?!” His slim arms wheeled as if smacking down the demons of low-effort cheapness, “I ain’t servin’ that dirt-flavored swill from my kitchen, in my dinin’ room, nowhere to do with me! You want one o’ those cups o’ mud, you get it yourself!”
“Ugh, man…”
“You could always try a very strongly brewed English Breakfast tea and then add some cinnamon to it,” a pleasant and poised voice enunciated from behind him, causing a cascade of instant changes to Souda’s posture and awakeness, “It is almost coffee-like, and will indeed wake you up.”
“Oh!” Kazuichi flashed an awkward grin, “I should try that, Miss Sonia! You’re so smart!”
“Hurry up and get a seat,” Hiyoko nudged the Princess, “Before Akane gets up and pigs up everything.”
“Oh, but I doubt Hanamura would ever let us starve.” Sonia said with a sweet, innocent-seeming smile as she perched beside the tiny dancer. Teruteru produced his comb from somewhere and began to preen himself, narrow chest puffing up. Souda growled under his breath, steeping his tea much more aggressively.
By the time the later-risers all trickled in—the dozy but ravening Akane coming in dead-last—the Ultimate Imposter placed down their newly emptied 7th bowl of rice and sighed. Thankfully, Mioda had not felt at all compelled to spill about the secret activities she’d witnessed, and was instead embroiled in a multi-party argument about what to do about the four islands they’d left unexplored—fearing what might be waiting there would be a lot less hospitable than on this initial “home base”.
“Couldn’t your ham—er, devas go and check that next island out and report back?” Hajime made the suggestion as mildly as he could to Gundham Tanaka, who sat broodily on the edge of the group, appearing to have all his attention taken up by feeding strips of nori and small pieces of celery to the tame rodents in question. The impression of aloofness was false; shooting the far plainer boy an indirect look, Tanaka lifted up Maga-Z in a scooped palmful.
“Indeed, they could. But reconnaissance as simple as this would be wasted on creatures of such power…”
“Um…” Mahiru gave the little hamster, sitting upright on Gundham’s hand and cleaning his whiskers, a mind-boggled stare, “Power… right…”
“They’re hamsters,” Hiyoko frowned, exasperated, “How would they be smart enough to even tell what they’d found if it wasn’t seeds of some other shitty rat-food?”
Gundham’s usual glare deepened: “Be thankful that my devas have already received their morning offerings!” He smirked, patting Jum-P on the head gently, “Mortals have become cursed for less…”
“They’re so well-trained, Hiyoko,” Sonia murmured to her, “Have you not seen them? Yesterday Gundham showed me how he could command them to get our frisbee back down from the roof! Do you remember it?”
“Yes…” Hiyoko pouted. She had a difficult time punching down when Sonia was around, since the Ultimate Princess never seemed fazed or to even remark upon the spite dripping from the dancer’s quips—always ready with a poised deflection that stopped the snide comments from pumping up her tiny ego as hoped.
“Hmph… On the bright side if the hamsters don’t come back we’ll know there’s something dangerous over there…” Souda muttered, “… or a hawk.”
“Shame on you!” Ibuki scolded, slapping the top of his hand with a half-eaten nori slip, “Have faith in our Ham-stars! We all know you’re jealous because she loves them cute little animals.”
“I am not jealous of rodents!”
“We know.” The Imposter said dryly. “We all know who you’re actually jealous of. For everyone’s benefit though, try not to wish harm on him either.”
“Erk…”
“Why don’cha just let me run over there and scope it out?” Akane interrupted while cracking her knuckles. “If I run into trouble I’ll just deck it.”
“No,” the Imposter shot the idea down right away, even faster than Nekomaru could make his objection, “No one should go anywhere unexplored alone… No, with no fewer than a group of three to be safe.” He set down his empty tea mug, “If any of us do end up going to the second island, I will insist on being part of that group.”
“Okay, but if there’s a fight waiting I wanna come too—” Akane retorted, “I can still deck it!”
“If anyone or anything needs their ass kicked, we gotta be there too,” the Ultimate Yakuza, taking up two chairs by propping up his crossed legs, volunteered along with Pekoyama’s confident nod. One glance at the most well-armed among them was enough to dissipate all potential argument.
“And that should only be necessary if Gundham doesn’t get anything conclusive, right?” Chiaki asked, a flicker of uncharacteristic concern flashing through her normally cool, unbothered eyes. Something about it seemed… suddenly too aware to him, and the Imposter watched her face as he gave a nod of confirmation.
“If Tanaka is willing to try,” he glanced towards the Ultimate Animal Breeder, careful to keep his eye contact on the hamsters instead of the human he addressed, “Are you up for sending them over the bridge?”
Gundham made a sharp series of clicks with his tongue and lowered one arm into a ramp up to his shoulders—the four creatures scampered up with military formation and adroitness, up into their concealed spaces: “They shall heed my orders posthaste! Each shall return from the forbidden lands with a portent of what lies there—good, or evil.”
“Amazing…” The Imposter almost jumped at the dull, spacey voice. He had almost forgotten Nagito was present. Hajime certainly had, as the most off-putting boy had decided to silently take up the seat right next to him without his knowledge. The amnesiac scooted strongly away, almost bracing himself against Fuyuhiko’s second chair as Komaeda let out a low chuckle.
“And Komaeda—I have something that you need to do as well.” The Imposter leaned in, snapping back into a more Byakuya-esque, demanding tone.
“Really?” His eyes sparkled, in the way that errant, housefire-inspiring sparks from a faulty radiator might, “Our leader has a task for the likes of me?”
“Yes. You’re going to stay a long way from anyone having anything to do with the exploration.”
“…Ah.”
“You know it’s safer that way.”
“Of course!” And Nagito recovered with a smile, “Well, I can just stick with Hajime. Heh, maybe we’ll get lucky and discover something we missed on this island.”
The Imposter was relieved. Nagito always seemed like there was a bit of a restless, almost mischievous nature buried under the lax, self-deprecating mannerisms; at the very least this way he had agreed to listen and would be chaperoned by a more trustworthy classmate. Though… glancing past Nagito and catching the exasperated flinch that briefly crossed poor Hajime’s face, he did feel briefly guilty for saddling the poor kid with this duty. Still—one of them being uncomfortable for a few hours was better than risking the Rube Goldberg’s Machine type of bodily harm to their whole group that was exponentially more likely the closer the Ultimate Luck approached…
֍
The sun was cresting the top of the distant air control tower when the gathering of interested parties commenced. The soft, grassy areas on the side of the cracked, rutted paths of the Central Island leading up to the bridge was ideal to shelter from the approaching noon sun under palms and thick, flowering tropical shrubs. Teruteru had taken it upon himself to lug along a cooler full of fruit flavor popsicles and chilled canned drinks while enlisting the Imposter to carry his larger cooler of sandwiches he’d prepared (in case anyone got peckish while waiting).
The bridge loomed. While a cordoned-off area, the rope barring entry was such that, except at its low center, Hiyoko could have lightly ducked under it with no problem. Facing it now, the Imposter wondered if that perplexing rabbit character (robot?) that periodically barged in on them would really block off something truly dangerous with such a weak measure—either out of malice or plain incompetence. Those who’d opted to take this risk had all gathered: Himself, Fuyuhiko, Peko, Akane, and Mikan in the event injuries were sustained. They’d all clustered behind where Gundham was at work preparing his larger-than-life rodent companions for their recon mission. Sonia crouched close by, cooing her best wishes to the hamsters and unaware of how incredibly bashful it was making their keeper. Nekomaru and Mahiru sat in the shade not far from where Teruteru was fussing over his accommodations, ready to be back-up help should their classmates end up needing help.
“Wish the damn park had a bathroom…” the huge man grumbled, his tension not lost on the Ultimate Photographer even though his voice was casual. Mahiru cleared her throat a bit.
“Yeah… it’s a very bad public facilities policy.” She pushed a small baggie of toilet paper and sealable plastic bags from behind her, “I put this together in case of emergency. Honestly, if whoever owns or maintains this place didn’t want poop in the bushes, then they should’ve put in a little restroom building like most parks…”
“Whoa!” Nekomaru relaxed, “Geez, thanks for thinking ahead! It’s been a while since someone did somethin’ like that.”
“No problem,” Mahiru sat up, properly folding her hands over her bent knees, “There’s no excuse for no public restroom. Someone has to plan for this kind of thing… and honestly, f… fuck ‘em for not planning well.”
As Nekomaru’s jovial cackles faded into echoes, Gundham whispered a few final commands down to his Four Dark Devas of Destruction’s ears—each now equipped with a tiny bandolier of sunflower seeds, small nails and a hairpin like teeny pitons and lockpicking devices. The lineup of attentive hamsters broke their formation and took to the bridge, hopping easily over to gaps in the wood and metal beams. The Ultimate Breeder stood and faced the waiting group:
“My Devas shall return on the next hour—earlier if they encounter a truly terrible opponent.”
It was really only a matter of time: Sonia and Gundham waited right by the end of the bridge for signs of the clever hamsters’ return, occasionally chatting back and forth but both remaining quite serious. As the sun inched higher, Mikan with a flustered authority ordered a set of the popsicles be passed around—each according to their preferred flavor—to keep hydrated and cool. Despite some backchat from Fuyuhiko before he ultimately settled for the sourest flavor, everyone had a pleasant moment to blow off the heat and stress while seated in the palm shade.
It was when Gundham jolted into a ramrod-straight posture that anyone knew his dutiful scouts had completed their mission; San-D, thirsty from the long run back, had grabbed at his half-finished lemon popsicle and began licking at it with great ferocity. At the round rodent’s feet was a grubby receipt, crumpled and punctured in a few places by hamster fangs.
“Aha!” Gundham scooped up the hamster, popsicle and all, into both hands, “Supernova Silver Fox San-D! You have returned with nary a scratch! I implore you—show us your spoils!”
San-D finished melting a few more licks of the sugary treat first, but did indeed follow the command given. The little hamster grabbed up the old receipt and with both paws stretched it out so that much of it could be read easily by “mortal eyes”.
“I’m not sure… I can fully read the runes here,” Sonia said awkwardly. Peko leaned over, instantly groaning at the tremendous mundanity of the paper’s contents.
“It’s a receipt from a diner, I think,” she said with two fingers over the bridge of her nose, “Not mainstream, more likely a family restaurant or something.”
“San-D must’ve been hungry!” Sonia cooed, petting the smooth fur while the hamster posed in pride, “Now at least we know there’s a source of food over there!”
“I think I see another,” the Imposter said mid-squint, and the tan-and-white form hopping over the bridge’s gaps grew larger. Maga-Z, followed a minute later by Jum-P, came up to Gundham with pieces of paperwork clenched in their teeth, only slightly punctured.
“What’s it say?” Fuyuhiko poked over the Ultimate Breeder’s shoulder, who shushed and thrust out an arm for space. After a few moments of anticipation, Gundham turned to the group and held out the two raggedy papers as if antique curse scrolls.
“Maga-Z has recovered this from the far southern point of that island,” he explained, “And Jum-P has traveled from the northern-central area to bring us this—if I may say so immediately, it is clearly a script given along with a prescription medicine.”
“There must be a pharmaceutical facility over there to have that,” Mikan wavered. “P-probably a more populated island?”
“Maybe not so populated now…” Akane growled, “With the state of the hotel and especially the airport. And with that farm and market on our island, what’re the odds no one in the past week wanted fresh eggs or gummy candy at least? What that stupid rabbit thing said is just getting creepier and creepier…”
“If it turns out there is anyone else on these islands, I highly doubt any would be too bothered by these… barriers,” the Imposter frowned, “especially on such small islands. It could be the only market like ours is here, and the only pharmacy on this second island. I think it’s now safe to assume that this Usami character is right. We are the only people here, for better or worse.”
Gundham plucked up the other paper from the hamster’s little paws, though it was really more of a piece of cardstock. He looked confused, and passed it to Sonia, who gasped.
“Oh, it is, ah… not a ‘library card’, but, um…” She peered back over to Mahiru and Mikan who were studying it over her shoulders, “…what are these things called? The cards you get in the books at libraries?”
“U-uh…” Mikan thought about it, blanking hard on any sort of consistent name for the things.
“I’m not sure they have a name,” Koizumi frowned, “but we know what you’re talking about. Does it have a date stamp on it?”
“No, it is blank,” Sonia looked down. “But Maga-Z must have found a library! Where else would he get an unused card like this?”
“A pharmacy, a restaurant, and a library…” Pekoyama mused, “It almost seems as if each new island is outfitted with a few different facilities. I’m not sure I like how empty is all is in light of that.”
“Well—yeah, that makes it all even more weird as fuck,” Fuyuhiko crossed his arms, “Either these ain’t the real Jabberwock Islands and fake setups with nobody ever being here before us… Or somethin’ happened to the population to make it zero.”
“Indeed…” Gundham narrowed his eyes, “That rabbit… such creatures’ capacity for violence and aggression is commonly underestimated. The Bunny is, in reality, one of Nature’s most vicious beasts…”
“U-um… speaking of things that aren’t here…” Mikan peeped through the others’ speculations with her fingers linking and fidgeting together, “Don’t you have a f-fourth hamster..?”
“Ah,” Gundham stared long and hard back across the bridge, towards the large outline of an imposing building which stood tall enough to form part of the island’s horizon, “Invading Black Dragon Cham-P I sent specifically to seek out that foreboding fortress visible even from here. His divine intellect is most suited to that task…” He tweaked his scarf slightly, menacing aura faltering a bit, “… though he, um, is not a creature to be hurried.”
This was no understatement. Minutes rolled on, with Tanaka anxiously cradling the other three devas in the folds of his scarf, until Akane gave a shout that she could see a chubby, round, golden-brown ball ambling towards them. When the hamster finally made it to his master, everyone noticed right away that Cham-P lacked any kind of paper scraps or other recovered objects. As the critter entered the circle of confused observers, he went rigid and stood up on his hind legs, as if waiting for attention.
“What’s it… doing?” Mahiru said. The Imposter, however, was not perplexed for long as the small animal began to scratch and scrape at the sandy ground—watching as defined markings began to appear. Cham-P finally scuttled back from his work with a few proud wiggles of his fat cheeks.
“It says ‘mirai’,” Togami’s voice declared, earning a surprised gasp from Mikan and a few hums of understanding from the others gathered around, “just like the name of the hotel.”
“…Does that mean there’s another hotel over there?” Nekomaru wondered, but the Imposter shook his head.
“I doubt it. It’s more likely that the Future theme is a name in common across multiple institutions on these islands…” Even as they heard the words leave their mouth something about it gave him a shudder; he shelved the thought for when he was not surrounded by the others.
“Oh… like how things keep gettin’ called ‘Jabberwock’ here!” Akane pieced together, prompting Fuyuhiko to give the ground an annoyed scuff.
“Island’s called that,” he groused, “fuckin’ idiot…”
“It does not appear Cham-P was able to enter that ominous building,” Sonia said while tickling his cheeks, “But also, none of them ran into any trouble. Perhaps the next island is truly empty except for buildings.”
“It should be safe to explore in our group then,” Peko nodded, “so long as we take it slowly and look out for each other.”
“Try to keep out of the way of that rabbit thing as well. I wouldn’t doubt she may try to hold us up if she has different ideas for our time here…” The Imposter added, straightening up and squaring his stance. “Tanaka, Nevermind—let the others know what we’ve found out. And let everyone know we’re on our way to the second island.”
Understanding the commands, the hamsters took off towards the hotel first after giving a series of tiny salutes. Surprised for a second, Gundham fell into stride behind them, with Sonia joyfully following in the part hominid, part rodent parade. He adjusted Byakuya’s glasses on his nose, giving himself a moment to comprehend that the Ultimate Breeder’s pets themselves comprehended human language (much less would opt to obey an order from someone who wasn’t Tanaka). Snapping out of it, he strode to lead the group towards the bridge and gripped the loose cord barring passage—
“Here, let me—”
SNAP!
“—get that… off there… for you…?” Akane trailed off into bewildered silence, ogling the chunky fist clenched around the snapped-off bracket.
“That won’t be necessary,” he brushed her off, tossing aside the coil of rope along with the busted metal ring which had secured it in place against the bridge’s railing. “Let’s go—follow me.”
november 17th ‘24, 1:55AM
it’s been awhile since I posted here, that’s neither a good or a bad thing. I don’t know what this means, but when I opened this blog and saw my last posts I felt weird because I didn’t remember making them, I guess I forgot about that time this year. maybe I just forgot because this year has felt so long and exhausting, maybe I blocked it out, I don’t know.
around that time and since I’ve been struggling severely with disordered eating and body dysmorphia. it was really awful for a while, then there was a bit of peace because I subconsciously convinced myself that I could be on ozempic soon, and now it’s definitely come back in full force. there’s been financial issues recently, so my hope of the ozempic pretty much disappeared immediately. although there is another option that is essentially the same thing that I really hope I can get on soon.
my weight has fluctuated extremely this year; at the beginning I was about 56-58kg, which isn’t thin by any means and I still had major weight gain in my stomach and legs, then it went up to 67kg, and then 77kg. bizarrely, I got weighed about three or four weeks after that 77kg and I went down to 73kg. I was confused, but happy. two or three weeks later I was back to 77kg. this weight gain occurred during the month or so when I was vigorously exercising, walking about 4K steps every second day, but I’m probably subconsciously exaggerating that to make myself feel less responsible for the weight gain. that was a while ago, but I have no doubt now I must be over 80kg, my gut (haha) is saying probably 83-85kg.
I’ve gone to doctors, I’ve tried everything. however, every single one has said my hormones are fucked up and that it’s a likely cause for the rapid weight gain. I was advised to see an endocrinologist, but because of the financial issues I don’t think that’ll be happening anytime soon. now that I’m typing this, I think my weight despair came back when I realised that.
I’m devastated about it. it just keeps getting worse, and because it depresses me and upsets me so much I immediately try to cope with food and binging, which obviously only makes the problem worse. now all of me is fat, horribly, horribly, fat: my belly is disgusting, I’ve gone from looking pregnant to looking like I have a middle aged man’s beer gut, I have more deep, purple stretch marks than I’ve ever had in my life, my thighs are gigantic, I have this incessant double chin, everything is fat.
a particularly devastating aspect of all of this is that I just simply do not fit into my clothes anymore; things that used to be oversized and baggy are now tight, I only wear sweatpants now because I can barely button up any of my pants, I’ve actually popped the zip on about two of them which made me want to vomit.
and yet, I eat, and eat, and eat, and eat. recently, more than ever, I’ve been wanting to become anorexic, doesn’t that sound insane? I’m very aware of toxic ED rhetoric and thinking patterns, I try not to give into them. I used to tell myself I just want to have a flat stomach, which is still true, but the fatter I get I can’t help but desperately want everything, absolutely everything, to be as thin as possible. recently I’ve been especially susceptible to legs, especially thighs.
I want to be anorexic. I want to be on ozempic, I don’t care how sick it makes me. I want to be anorexic, but I just don’t have the will power to give up food and I feel so pathetic for it. I feel ridiculous for wanting both.
right now I’m really stuck. I don’t know what to do. I feel like all I can do at the moment is sit on my ass and pray and hope and plead that I’ll be able to try the ozempic alternative soon and that it’ll work.
I wish I could cut every piece of fat off me, feed it to pigs, burn it, destroy it. I’ve even thought about tagging some of these posts with ED-related tags in hopes that people may see my despair and give me tips, encourage me to destroy myself in the most effective way possible, or scrutinise me for being weak, gluttonous, and obese.
Reclaim Your Strength: Essential Postpartum Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Exercises for New Moms
Welcoming a new baby into your life is an exciting and life-changing experience. However, it also comes with its share of challenges, particularly for the body.
One area that often needs attention after childbirth is the pelvic floor. Many new mothers experience issues such as incontinence, pelvic pain, or a weakened core due to the strain pregnancy and delivery place on the pelvic muscles.
That’s where Postpartum Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation comes in, helping new moms regain strength and control in this vital area of their body.
This article explores why pelvic floor rehabilitation is essential and the key exercises that can help new moms on their journey to recovery.
Why Postpartum Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation is Important
The pelvic floor muscles form a supportive base for the bladder, uterus, and bowels, working in conjunction with the abdominal and back muscles to stabilize the core.
During pregnancy and childbirth, these muscles are stretched and weakened, which can lead to a variety of issues, including:
Urinary Incontinence: Many women experience leakage when coughing, sneezing, or exercising due to weakened pelvic muscles.
Pelvic Organ Prolapse: In severe cases, weakened muscles can lead to the descent of pelvic organs area.
Lower Back Pain: A weakened pelvic floor can also result in poor posture and chronic lower back discomfort.
The good news is that Postpartum Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation through specific exercises can alleviate or completely resolve these issues.
Rehabilitation helps restore muscle strength and function, improving your quality of life and enabling you to care for your baby without discomfort.
When to Start Postpartum Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
It’s natural to want to get back into shape quickly after childbirth, but it’s essential to give your body the time it needs to heal.
For many women, this means waiting around 6 to 8 weeks before beginning pelvic floor exercises, especially if they had a complicated birth or C-section.
Always consult your healthcare provider before starting any exercise program to ensure it's safe for you.
Essential Exercises for Postpartum Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
To regain strength and function in the pelvic floor, specific exercises target these muscles and promote recovery. Below are some of the most effective exercises for postpartum rehabilitation:
1. Kegel Exercises
Kegels are perhaps the most well-known pelvic floor exercise, and for good reason—they work! The purpose of Kegels is to strengthen the muscles that support the bladder, and rectum.
How to perform Kegel exercises:
Find a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down.
Contract your pelvic floor muscles as if you are trying to stop the flow of urine.
Hold the contraction for 5-10 seconds, then relax for 10 seconds.
Repeat this 10-15 times, three times a day.
It’s important to ensure you’re using the right muscles—if your stomach or glutes are tensing up, you may be doing them incorrectly. A physical therapist can help ensure you’re performing them properly.
2. Bridge Pose (Glute Bridge)
Bridges not only strengthen the pelvic floor, but they also work the glutes and hamstrings, providing additional stability for your core.
How to perform a bridge pose:
Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the ground.
Inhale, then slowly exhale as you lift your hips toward the ceiling, squeezing your glutes and engaging your pelvic floor.
Hold the position for a few seconds, then slowly lower your hips back down.
Repeat this 10-12 times, gradually increasing the number of repetitions as your strength improves.
Bridges are an excellent way to build pelvic floor and core strength while also relieving lower back pain, a common postpartum issue.
3. Transverse Abdominal Contractions (TA Contractions)
The transverse abdominis (TA) is the deepest abdominal muscle and plays a crucial role in core stability. Strengthening this muscle is essential in Postpartum Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation as it directly supports the pelvic floor.
How to perform TA contractions:
Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
Place your hands on your lower abdomen, just above the pelvis.
Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, pull your belly button toward your spine, engaging your pelvic floor.
Hold for 5 seconds, then relax.
Repeat this exercise 10-15 times, gradually increasing the hold time as you progress.
By focusing on the deeper core muscles, you’ll also help prevent the common postpartum issue of diastasis recti, or the separation of the abdominal muscles.
4. Pelvic Tilts
Pelvic tilts are a gentle but effective way to engage the core and pelvic floor muscles, especially in the early stages of rehabilitation.
How to perform pelvic tilts:
Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
Inhale deeply, and as you exhale, press your lower back into the floor, engaging your pelvic floor muscles.
Hold this position for a few seconds before releasing.
Repeat this 10-15 times, focusing on controlled, gentle movements.
Pelvic tilts can help relieve tension in the lower back and improve posture, both of which are important for overall recovery.
5. Squats
Squats are an excellent full-body exercise that strengthens the pelvic floor, core, and lower body muscles.
How to perform a squat:
Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, toes pointing slightly outward.
Inhale as you lower your hips back and down, as if you’re sitting in a chair, keeping your back straight.
As you rise back to standing, exhale and engage your pelvic floor muscles.
Perform 10-12 repetitions, gradually increasing as you become stronger.
Squats help to restore functional strength and are a great way to prepare your body for the physical demands of motherhood, like lifting and carrying your baby.
Benefits of Working with a Physical Therapist for Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
While many of these exercises can be done at home, working with a physical therapist, especially one who specializes in women’s health, can make a significant difference in your recovery. A therapist can:
Assess the strength and function of your pelvic floor.
Provide guidance on proper technique.
Create a customized rehabilitation plan tailored to your unique needs.
Help you avoid or address potential complications, like pelvic organ prolapse or severe incontinence.
Postpartum Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation can significantly improve your postpartum recovery experience. A physical therapist at Chesterton Physical Therapy can guide you through the entire process, ensuring that you regain full function in your pelvic floor muscles safely and effectively.
Tips for a Successful Rehabilitation Journey
Here are a few additional tips to make your Postpartum Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation a success:
Be patient with your body: Your muscles need time to heal and strengthen. Don’t rush the process—consistency is more important than speed.
Stay hydrated: Proper hydration supports muscle function and recovery.
Maintain proper posture: Poor posture can strain the pelvic floor, so focus on standing and sitting with good alignment.
Seek professional guidance: If you're experiencing pain or discomfort, consult a pelvic floor physical therapist.
Conclusion
Postpartum Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation is an essential step for new moms to regain strength, stability, and control in the pelvic area.
Exercises like Kegels, bridges, TA contractions, and pelvic tilts can help you strengthen your pelvic floor, improve your quality of life, and prevent long-term issues.
Remember, every woman’s recovery is unique, so listen to your body and consider working with a healthcare professional experts at Chesterton Physical, to guide you through your postpartum journey safely.
How to remove lower stomach fat
Removing lower stomach fat involves a combination of diet, exercise, and lifestyle adjustments. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you achieve your goals:
1. Diet Adjustments
a. Focus on Nutrient-Dense Foods:
Lean Proteins: Chicken breast, turkey, tofu, and legumes help build muscle and keep you full.
Whole Grains: Opt for brown rice, quinoa, oats, and whole-wheat products to maintain steady blood sugar levels.
Healthy Fats: Avocados, nuts, seeds, and olive oil support metabolism and hormone balance.
Fruits and Vegetables: They are rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Aim for a variety of colors to ensure a broad spectrum of nutrients.
b. Reduce Processed Foods and Sugars:
Cut back on sugary snacks, sodas, and refined carbs. These contribute to fat accumulation and inflammation.
c. Manage Portions and Eating Habits:
Portion Control: Be mindful of portion sizes to avoid overeating. Use smaller plates if necessary.
Regular Meals: Eat smaller, balanced meals throughout the day to keep metabolism steady and prevent excessive hunger.
d. Hydration:
Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Sometimes thirst is mistaken for hunger, and proper hydration aids digestion and metabolism.
2. Exercise Regimen
a. Cardiovascular Exercise:
Types: Engage in activities like brisk walking, running, cycling, or swimming. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise per week.
HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training): This form of cardio alternates between high and low-intensity exercise and is effective for burning fat.
b. Strength Training:
Frequency: Include strength training exercises 2-3 times a week. This helps build muscle, which increases resting metabolic rate.
Focus Areas: Incorporate exercises that target the entire body, such as squats, lunges, and deadlifts. Core exercises like planks and Russian twists can strengthen the abdominal muscles but won't specifically reduce fat in the lower stomach.
c. Core-Specific Exercises:
Leg Raises: Lie flat and lift your legs slowly towards the ceiling, keeping them straight. This targets the lower abdominal muscles.
Reverse Crunches: Lie on your back, bring your knees towards your chest, and lift your hips off the ground.
Mountain Climbers: From a plank position, alternate bringing your knees towards your chest rapidly.
3. Lifestyle Adjustments
a. Sleep:
Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night. Poor sleep can lead to weight gain and increased fat accumulation.
b. Stress Management:
High stress levels can lead to increased cortisol, which is linked to abdominal fat. Practice relaxation techniques such as meditation, deep breathing, or yoga.
c. Avoid Alcohol and Smoking:
Alcohol and smoking can contribute to fat accumulation and hinder your progress. Reducing or eliminating these can improve overall health and support fat loss efforts.
4. Consistency and Patience
a. Long-Term Commitment:
Fat loss, especially in specific areas like the lower stomach, takes time and consistent effort. Focus on gradual, sustainable changes rather than quick fixes.
b. Track Progress:
Keep track of your workouts, diet, and measurements. Adjust your plan as needed based on your progress and how your body responds.
Weird "tea rutual" removes 57lbs in weeks
5. Consult Professionals
a. Healthcare Providers:
Before starting any new exercise or diet program, especially if you have underlying health conditions, consult with a healthcare provider.
b. Nutritionists and Trainers:
For personalized advice, consider working with a registered dietitian or certified personal trainer who can tailor recommendations to your specific needs and goals.
By combining these strategies and maintaining a consistent approach, you’ll be well on your way to reducing lower stomach fat and improving overall health.
👺evil thoughts I’ve been having lately in the read more👹
My step sibling and I are almost exactly the same age, but they have always been way way skinnier than me. We met when we were young and I was already a Big kid, I wasn’t exactly fat or even chubby, but I was definitely one of the biggest for my age. I was tall and also I “filled out” really young, I just looked older and bigger than I wanted to. Meanwhile, my step sibling had a lot of food sensitivity issues and just didn’t care about food much in general. Eating to fullness made them feel sick, but I ate to fullness every single day because I felt soooo hungry otherwise.
It was extra humiliating because a couple of times I brought people around that I was interested in romantically. One was just a crush, the other was a sort of on-again-off-again relationship, and both these people ended up basically ignoring me in order to go hang out with my step sibling. It only happened twice, but still who leaves the person who invited them over to go hang out with one of their step siblings who they don’t even know. It felt like because they were skinnier, people liked them better right away. And because I was bigger, I had to basically pick up scraps.
When we grew up I even got fat. Not like obese, but in the middle of the “overweight zone” on a BMI chart, and I had no muscle mass so it was all flab. My step sibling started dating gym rats, so they became even more attractive. Not only were they naturally thin due to their relationship with food, but they were gaining muscle and eating protein so they looked fit AS FUCK.
It’s been a big issue in my life because we’ve been raised to see each other as siblings, and the sibling rivalry is real. After family events I would feel depressed for days, looking at the pictures of us where they look so small and delicate and beautiful and I look like… me.
Anyways, I started going to the gym too like 1.5 years ago, I haven’t gone consistently the entire time, but it’s definitely been enough to see results. I also started eating less and more responsibly, fixed my posture, and cut way back on alcohol.
I’ve lost more than 30lbs now + gained muscle, and even though I’m not nearly where I want to be, I admit that I look good. At least compared to how I used to look.
And here’s the best part 🤭 my step sibling is gaining weight now 😇 and not gaining weight like putting on more muscle. I don’t think they’re losing muscle, but their legs and arms still look twiggy af, while their belly is getting more flabby.
I’ve always been jealous of my step sibling’s flat tummy, and my own tummy has been one of my biggest insecurities. Now I’ve lost more than 30lbs of fat, mostly from my stomach, and I do light-weight ab exercises a few times a week. Not to say my stomach is a washboard right now, but I’m getting closer to having a flat belly like my sibling always did, and their belly is becoming more chunky and flabby.
It’s pretty sad and messed up that I feel this way, because the reason my sibling is putting on the weight is because they got “happy weight” from a relationship that seemed really good, but they were going to the gym during that relationship. And now that relationship is over and it ended badly, and I’m pretty sure my sibling is 1.) skipping the gym and 2.) drinking alcohol to cope. They did say they have 0 appetite a while back, due to the breakup, but this weekend we were together and I saw them snacking. But idk how much they really eat.
Anyways, all this to say, I’m looking better than I ever have in my adult life and my sibling is slowly going downhill (they’re also getting wrinkly skin + getting cosmetic surgery in our mid-20s, so they’re also losing their face card, meanwhile I started using a daily sunscreen more than a year ago, I hydrate to the extreme, and as previously mentioned I drink less alcohol on the regular. so my skin is looking young af, people actually tell me I’m looking younger. plus, ngl my face card was always more powerful than my sibling’s, it was my body holding my back. now I’m like the ultimate and they’re losing it all.)
((Like I said, these are evil thoughts, pls don’t judge if you read this. I love my sibling and my heart honestly hurts for what they’re going through right now. and I don’t want them to lose their hot body just to make me feel better, especially since it’s due to such a sad reason. tbh they’re still skinnier and leaner than me, but I’m really happy to be catching up finally. I was the ugly (chubby) one for like 15 years, I have to enjoy these times of not feeling inadequate compared to my family))
Flat Stomach in Under 30 Days: Proven Tips and Workouts
Achieve a Toned Midsection in Under a Month
Discover the secrets to sculpting a flat stomach in less than 30 days with these invaluable tips from Jeff, the expert behind Athlean X.
How to Achieve a Flat Stomach in Less Than 30 Days
Are you longing for a flat stomach but unsure where to start your journey? Look no further. This comprehensive workout regimen, spanning just 22 days, is meticulously designed to target deep abdominal muscles and foster a stronger core. Whether you aim to shed excess fat or already boast a lean physique, this program will propel you toward a flatter, more defined midsection.
Why 22 Days Matter
The research underscores the significance of consistency in habit formation, pinpointing the 22-day mark as pivotal. By committing to this home-based abdominal workout for a mere three weeks, you're priming your body for change and instilling lifelong fitness habits that can endure beyond the program's duration.
A Plan for Everyone
Even if you currently carry a higher body fat percentage, investing your time in this regimen holds immense value. While achieving a chiseled six-pack within the 22-day timeframe may be ambitious, the habits cultivated during this period can be transformative. Remember, it's the sustainable lifestyle changes that truly make a difference.
Nutrition: A Cornerstone of Success
While dedicating yourself to this workout plan, pay attention to the crucial role of nutrition. As the saying goes, you can't out-train a poor diet. To reveal your abs and attain a flat stomach, prioritizing healthy eating habits is paramount. Strike a balance between nutritious choices and occasional indulgences to optimize your results.
Discover the Power of Core Activation
The beauty of this program lies in its focus on activating the often-neglected muscles of the transverse abdominis and pelvic floor. Strengthening these core muscles tightens your waistline and enhances overall stability, even at rest.
A Step-by-Step Guide to Success
Divided into three phases spanning seven days each, this 22-day plan gradually builds core strength and control. Let's explore each phase in detail:
Phase 1: Foundational Static Holds (Days 1-7)
During the initial week, emphasis is placed on mastering static holds to engage and activate deep core muscles effectively. Perform the following exercises mindfully, focusing on precise muscle activation:
Static Supine TA Hold
Static Hollow TA Hold
Static V-Sit TA Hold
Static Plank TA Hold
Static Elevated Plank TA Hold
Static Kneeling TA Hold
Static Standing TA Hold
Phase 2: Dynamic Movement (Days 8-14)
In the second week, dynamic movements are introduced to further enhance core strength and stability. These exercises add a new dimension of challenge to your core muscles:
Supine Flutters
Hollow Rocks
V-Sit Drifts
Plank Step Outs
Knee Drives
Kneeling Walkouts
Standing Walkouts
Phase 3: Refinement (Days 15-22)
As you enter the final stretch of the program, the focus shifts to refining your technique and maximizing core engagement. Decrease the number of static holds while increasing the intensity and duration of dynamic movements:
Static exercises: 10 reps x 20 seconds
Dynamic exercises: 5 reps x 20 seconds
Commit to this structured plan; in less than a month, you'll be well on your way to achieving the flat stomach you've always desired.
