I think this banner system y’all have going on is kinda cute, as well as using a different color for dialogue. It isn’t something I’m interested in doing myself but it’s a unique way to RP while still being accessible. Ten years ago, there were a lot of stylized trends that were really difficult to process and read, at least for someone like me, with a nonverbal learning disorder.

I’m glad the community seems to be more inclusive now❤️

Veserille and Brigine floated across the threshold with their armloads of silk as she stepped back to permit them. They wasted no time in commandeering the table in the center of the common room and laying out three sets of clothing in neat enough arrangements that Jisel could see every part of each set. She hung back, watching the outfits unfold with a distant but growing hunger in her belly.

She had wanted this, once. When she was first sent to the Aeridian camp as a peace offering, a bribe, she had only clung to the desperate hope that she wouldn’t be killed or eaten alive by the Bloodletter, but after—when she was brought back, when she sat across the negotiation table from Callebero and thought herself grown, she had dreamt of such finery in her future. Looking back now, she was nearly thrown off her feet at the thought of how young they’d both been, how stupid it had been to pin nations’ fates to their narrow shoulders—but then, she had felt as if she had not stepped across the threshold of adulthood so much as thrown wide the doors and seized it. In the evenings after their long talks, she had indulged in grand fantasies of being appointed to the king’s circle of advisors, of being recognized by the women of the court as a wise and powerful leader.

It all seemed so silly now—but still, the ache in her gut as the silks unfurled in the shape of a future she had once craved.
