Instead of New Years resolutions 👇🏼 *save this post for reminders* There are so many reasons why New Year's resolutions don’t work when it comes to your fitness. I’ll tell you what to do instead. (I’m not against resolutions, I just know that for the majority of people they don’t set you up for success). And that’s because fitness, it’s not just in your mind. You don't lose weight and become fit just because you have made up your mind to do so on January 1. It is precisely this thinking that's keeping you stuck in your current cycle of bad diets and harmful workouts. What you need is a plan that is feasible in the long term. Something you can do every day as you continue to live your life. A plan where you can eat cake at birthday parties with your friends and family, where you don't have to deprive yourself of joy and companionship just because there are certain things that you cannot eat. If you have failed your fitness resolution for the year, I congratulate you. Now, here are some things you should do instead: Make a sustainable plan. Change one small thing until it becomes a habit. Examples: - Use honey instead of processed white sugar. - Drink a glass of water before you reach for your morning coffee. - Walk instead of drive every once in a while. - Head to bed before 11 pm - Eat a few more vegetables And then before you know it, without completely overhauling everything at once (system overload) you will have changed your entire routine and filled it with healthy sustainable life habits.
