I really enjoy those posts that give tips for specific nonhuman identities, but I barley ever see ones for fish!

I'm fishkin myself, and I hope that these will bring some joy to other aquatic beings

ᯓ★ Go for a swim! ˖°𓇼🌊⋆���

Swimming in natural bodies of water is not only a great exercise, it also helps me with my fish urges! If you don't have rivers or lakes near you, try going to a swimming pool. If you're insecure about your body, you can go when it's getting darker, as there will be less people there, or you could try to swim in a more secluded area

If you don't have access to things like that, resting in a bathtub works too!

ᯓ★ Paint gills or scales on your throat or arms! ˚˖𓍢ִִ໋🌊🦈˚˖𓍢ִ✧˚.

They are cheap and greatly assist with navigating through waters! Snorkeling equipment also works wonders

ᯓ★ Rest in shallow waters! ˖°𓇼🌊⋆🐚

It's okay to take breaks from swimming! Resting on your belly in shallow waters is very relaxing, especially if you're in the sun!

ᯓ★ Learn to hold your breath! ˚˖𓍢ִִ໋🌊🦈˚˖𓍢ִ✧˚.

You could ask someone to stop the time for you, or you could do it yourself in the bathtub

If you're a carnivorous fish and feel comfortable with it, eating fish as a meal can feel very euphoric

ᯓ★ Collect shells/stones! ˖°𓇼🌊⋆🐚

Try swimming to the bottom of the lake/river etc... to collect treasures, especially if you're a fish that likes digging in the sandy ground for food

ᯓ★ ID the fish in your area! ˚˖𓍢ִִ໋🌊🦈˚˖𓍢ִ✧˚.

Being able to identify common fish species in the river near me makes me so happy!!

If you're comfortable with it, try to catch your own fish for a tasty meal! Please remember to treat the fish humanely after you've caught them

Not only can you learn about your kintypes, you can also learn about other beings that share their habitat with it

Plenty of fish...

Today I was chatting with someone and my ex came up as a subject of conversation. They said the old adage about "there are plenty of fish in the sea" to which I replied that I caught a fish that first seemed like sashimi grade tuna but turned out to be a Filet O Fish. Luckily I realised my error and threw it in the trash before I made the mistake of eating it.

I made bioplastic (recipe from here) using tonic water as the liquid and made UV fluorescent charms and stuff for an upcoming art project. I want to explore a bunch of naturally fluorescent substrates, like GFP and quinine and riboflavin.
