I recently got some paint pens from the art store and wanted to test it out with a jacko, they felt so smooth but sometimes the ink feels like its blotting

They are nice and vibrant though!

Stardew Valley Inktober 5: Zuzu City Express

This might be my favorite so far!

I didn't want to do stuff about the movie, sooo I went with a different kind of Zuzu City Express. It's Emily and Pie on a train trip to Zuzu City to buy new fabrics and have cute dates!

I did do some nods to the movie by having the drawing be in greyscale and have them in winter outfits, since its a winter movie.

Happy 92nd anniversary to The Mummy (1932)!

I drew this in December last year, using the anniversary falling so near Christmas as an excuse to draw Im-Ho-Tep in a Santa hat, because why not? I love drawing the OG Monsters out of character 🎅

This also gave me a chance to try and make a “sketchy” piece of art, as I have a habit of turning all my drawings into marathon projects that take hours, and not just quick, efficient sketches. This drawing still took longer than I intended, as I decided to change some details last minute, but I managed to do the face and outline quicker than usual at least. I also got a chance to practice using my Lyra brush pens for once, which was nice.

“Im-Ho-Ho-Ho-Tep” came to me when I was about halfway through the drawing. I am still exceptionally pleased with myself for coming up with that, and was very smug at the time 😂

HB and 3B graphite and mechanical pencils and Lyra Aqua-brush duo pens on 160gsm paper.

I wanted to play around with markers and ink in my sketchbook so I did - Lucifer and the waters of the world

There’s a fun and old Dutch fairytale I read a long time ago about the devil and how the oceans were formed: god was busy creating the world from a lump of clay but he had to go off and do something else, so he left the wet clay ball in the care of Lucifer. The devil, gleeful at the prospect of ruining god’s plans proceeded to deform the clay ball as much as he could. Where he pressed his palms, seas and oceans formed. His fingers pressed down to create lakes. His nails scratched the earth and created rivers. God came back just in time to prevent Lucifer from completely covering the world in water and rendering it uninhabitable, and that’s why our oceans are so large.
